Narrator p.o.v
Eren was chilling with Armin, Jean, and Reiner playing some siege at Zeke and Pieck's house.
"Finally boys! We made plat 3.", Eren shouted delightfully over coms.
The squad was then interrupted by a stressed out Pieck. Pieck had a face of distraught and anger.
"Pieck what is with the face? Who died?", Zeke asked jokingly.
"...", Pieck was at a loss of words.
Armin then got a alert from his cousin and his face lit up with shock.
"Eren turn on the news!", Armin shouted.
The startled Eren rushed over to grab the remote. In with a face of awe of how the downward spiral Markus's life is. The news line said a young man hospitalized after a raid on the prison while one inmate was killed and the other kidnapped.
The anchorwoman started to speak, "Well Tom this just awful this poor kid was beaten to a pulp." The TV flashed to Markus with two black eyes with his eye lids swollen, his nose broken, he lost a few teeth, there were cuts and bruises every where. Moat importantly arms are not supposed to bend like that. His arm was in a U-shape.
Eren felt anger boiling up wondering who committed the act.
"Well Sherry it is quite rough. As well as the fact that Farlan Sr. was killed in his cell and Grace Farlan was kidnapped not even an hour ago.", the anchorman replied.
"Oh wait Tom I got news that Markus is awake at this time and is ready to respond to questions.", Sherry said joyfully.
The camera shows Markus in a emergency room strapped to a bed with iv's poking out of him. He a blank expression on his face and his eyes were lifeless.
"For my folks back home meet Markus Leonhardt the man who survived this beating. How Markus who did this to you?", the younger anchorman asked.
Markus chuckled with a now serious expression on his face. He started to grip his hands to point of bleeding. He then looked at the camera almost of he was trying to talk to someone else and stated, "Titans. The Titans did this to me. They have shafted for me for a good portion of my life. Power is what I was looking for most of my life. Within the past few weeks I have reflected upon my life."
"My weakness has gotten my loved ones hurt and my friends hurt. Being drunk on power is something that has cursed my family for generations. Today I watched a prime witness get murdered acrid the the other cell. There is a good chance that this meeting will be my last. That is all j have please leave.", Markus stated while looking at the ground.
Markus started to fade out and started to flat line.
The news channel then stopped it's production. Queuing to a rainbow colored screen.
Eren soon grabbed his keys and started his car. He then called Annie.
