Chapter 22: A Charge Like No Other!

The Ambush Tanks fell into their position, hiding in thickets of bushes that camouflaged their tanks into the jungle that surrounded the Haraishiyama Grand Golf Course's parking lot. Patty hummed idly in boredom while they waited for word from the Bait Team that they had successfully snatched the enemy into a chase. She hummed the tune of Vicksburg is Taken, by Edmund W. Hicks and tapped along on the cupola. "Any word on the chase, Anglerfish Team?" she asked into her radio.

"Negative, it looks like we lost Chi-Ha-Tan after the first encounter," Miho replied, standing tall in her cupola as the three remaining tanks of Bait Team sped down their path. Miho opened her map and looked ahead for another vantage point. We're effectively a sitting duck now… they could jump out of the jungle at any moment now… That thought got her heart racing. "What do you think, Ross, Azusa? Any ideas on our next move?"

Her fellow commanders racked their brains for any way they could counter the threat. "We could try to draw them into our entire team, regroup with the Ambush Team and let them attack us. If Chi-Ha-Tan is still prone to charge with only nine tanks that can fight since the Ho-K is unarmed, it might work out," he proposed.

"That might work, Leopard Team," Azusa said, "but sitting still will only fry our nerves and leave us less capable when they do find us. Plus, giving them the initiative means they could come up with a plan to knock out the Tiger. They may not be able to penetrate it from conventional angles, but given enough time, I'm sure they'll find a way to knock it out."

William radioed in. "She's right, I just thought of a way they could knock us out. Our hull roof armor is only 26mm thick. If they found a way to fire at us from above, they could knock us out," he pointed out.

"They could also ricochet a round off the bottom curve of your turret. That shot trap was a big issue in early model Panthers," Miho added.

"Shoot, I forgot about the shot trap," Ross said.

"What if we turn back around and head into their path in the jungle?" Azusa proposed, "The M3 isn't much wider than the Chi-Ha, so we might be able to slip in!"

Miho thought about her idea. "It might work… the problem is your frontal armor isn't thick enough to stop the 47mm and 57mm enemy guns," Miho added.

"We can still do it!" Azusa argued, "if we're quick, we can knock some of them out before they even know we're behind them!"

"Let's turn back and see if the Panzer IV or Type 100 can fit into their trail, if they can't then we can send you in, if you're still up for it by then," Miho decided.

The three tanks stopped on the pathway and turned their tanks around on the narrow road. Once they were all turned around, Rabbit Team was in the lead and they drove back down the road. Azusa peeked nervously from her hatch, just in case Chi-Ha-Tan would turn up. Her eyes darted around from the road to the jungle before they returned to the spot where Duck Team made their last stand.

The Type 89B and the volleyball girls were all gone by the time they returned. Only piles of splintered wood and plant remains were all that was left. The Shinhotos they had knocked out were gone as well. Rabbit Team stopped on the run-off and allowed the Panzer IV and Type 100 to pass.

Miho nervously checked her sidearm, an M1861 revolver, to make sure it was loaded in case they encountered any snakes. The Panzer IV slowly tried to drive up the relatively steep, but short cliff and into the pathway cut by Chi-Ha-Tan. The Panzer IV could climb up the slope fine, but when it got to the path, it constantly got caught in trees that hadn't been completely felled or some other foliage. Miho came to the unfortunate conclusion that the Panzer IV couldn't track down Chi-Ha-Tan in their pathways. She activated her radio with a hint of remorse. "Sorry guys, but we aren't gonna fit," she informed as the Panzer IV drove backward down the cliff. "You still up for this Azusa?" she asked.

"Yes ma'am, we're ready," Azusa replied. The Panzer IV drove aside to allow the M3 Grant to climb up the hill. With a moment of struggle, the M3 climbed up the hillside and entered the pathways. Despite a bit of initial plant-based resistance, the M3 slipped into the path. Azusa peeked out of her hatch and gazed in awe at the tunnel. Dense jungle surrounded her on every side, right, left, and up. Sunlight barely cracked through the thick canopy of trees. Above on a branch, a Habu pit viper lazily gazed down at the M3. Azusa grabbed her M1861 as the M3 passed under it. "Nice snake… nice little venomous dangerous snake," she whispered. The snake didn't seem to care about the M3 as it bathed in a ray of sunshine that broke through the canopy. She breathed a sigh of relief as it left them alone.

"The plants are so thick, it almost looks like a tunnel," Karina said.

"It's a jungle tunnel!" Ayumi said.

Azusa giggled. "Alright girls, pay attention. The enemy is near," she warned with a smile. They continued pushing through the tunnel when they found a tri-intersection. "Stop here for a moment," Azusa requested. She carefully climbed out of the tank and slid down the sloped front armor. She took out her pistol just in case she encountered another venomous snake and approached the tri-intersection. She peaked around the branching tunnel. "Nothing huh…" she whispered. She carefully stepped forward into the intersection and examined the tracks and downed plants. "These are fresher, that's definitely where they went," she decided and ran back to her tank. "Take the right tunnel, the disturbance is more recent," she ordered.

"Alright!" Karina exclaimed and drove the tank into the right tunnel. They continued down the path.

"Miho, just letting you know, we've diverged from the original jungle tunnel, and are heading east. We'll let you know if we encounter the enemy," Azusa reported.

"Affirmative, stay safe," Miho replied.

"Yes, ma'am," Azusa replied. They drove deeper and deeper into the heart of the jungle when the sound of many engines and jungle foliage being pushed aside started to be heard over the sounds of wildlife and their own engine. "The enemy is nearby, prepare for combat!" she ordered.

"Right!" the four girls shouted. Saki just nodded and grabbed another 37mm shell. The M3 Grant sped ahead through the tunnels and rounded a final corner where they found the back of a Type 95. Its turret was facing the rear, but the round it fired at the M3 bounced off the M3's angled armor frontal armor. "Aya, you fire!" Azusa ordered.

"Right!" Aya shouted and pulled the trigger. The 37mm of the M3 fired a high-velocity round into the back of the Type 95, knocking it out of the match. "That's my second knockout!" she cheered.

"Good work!" Azusa complimented. "can you see the next tank in the line?" she asked.

"Give me another round and I'll get 'em!" Aya demanded.

Saki slammed another 37mm M51B1 armor-piercing round into the gun. "Fire!" Azusa ordered. The gun fired once more and knocked out a regular Type 97 just ahead of the Type 95.

"I can't get another shot, they're hiding behind the knocked-out tanks," Aya complained with a pout, "And I was doing so well too…"

"Alright then, time for plan B!" Azusa declared. She pulled out her map. It's a shot in the dark, but this should be close enough. "This is Rabbit Team, do we have permission to request artillery support?" she asked.

"Permission granted," Miho answered.

"This is Rabbit Team to Artillery Team, requesting a five-plus-one-barrage on grid square E2, inner square F9," she requested.

"Alright girls, get to the calculators!" Canaveral ordered. Kennedy went to work with a map and calculator, making small adjustments with the rocket launcher.

"Looks like we get to fire a round!" Victoria cheered. She began adjusting her gun while Melitta prepared a shell on the loading tray.

"Ready to fire!" Kennedy confirmed.

"Blastoff!" Canaveral ordered. The rockets started screaming from the launcher, kicking up plants and dust behind them.

"Ready to fire!" Melitta reported after slamming her breach closed. When the last rocket flew out of the T34E2, Victoria tugged at the firing chord, setting off the 8-inch howitzer.

A shockwave shook the jungle. The noise of the monstrous gun pierced the canopy, sending birds flying away in panic.

000

"Wha- what gun did they mount to that thing?!" Erika exclaimed with her eyes wide as even a small shockwave could be felt in the air at the spectator area.

Darjeeling giggled and walked over. "That, my dear, is the British BL 8-inch Howitzer Mk. VIII. It fires a 200 lb shell you know," she explained with a hint of smugness.

8 inches? Maho thought with a hint of surprise breaking through her stoic facade, that's 203.2 millimeters and roughly 90 kilograms, a Jagdtiger's shell is… 28 kilograms and 128mm.

Kay whistled loudly. "Now that? That is definitely superior firepower," she said with a chuckle before eating some more popcorn. "I wonder what other tricks Oarai has up their sleeve? They've already got rockets and artillery pieces. Only thing missing is a tank with two turrets!" she joked.

000

"Fall back!" Azusa ordered. Just before the firestorm arrived, the M3 Grant reversed quickly to avoid the chaos. The five 182mm rockets dove towards the jungle canopy.

"Everyone, in your tanks!" Nishi ordered. The hatches of Chi-Ha-Tan's remaining tanks slammed shut as the rockets whistled into the jungle canopy and exploded with a fiery roar. Smoke spread from the canopy roof until an 8-inch shell pierced through the canopy, disrupting the smoke and exploded in the jungle nearby Chi-Ha-Tan.

Azusa watched as the smoke began to clear. Small fires fueled by residue null explosive sparkled above in the canopy, but the area underneath was mostly untouched, barring the edge of the 8-inch shell scorch mark nearby. Not one tank was knocked out. The canopy… stopped the rockets? She thought with shock.

000

Patty tugged at her collar and fanned her face as sweat started to drip down her neck. Sheesh, it got really hot all of a sudden, she thought. She looked around to see if anyone else outside their tanks looked hot when she saw smoke rising from the jungle to their right. Is that Azusa's artillery support? Her eyes widened. "Guys, guys! The enemy is to our r-"

The Type 97 Ho-K burst through the trees, followed this time by Nishi's Type 97. "Banzai!" she ordered with a shout loud enough for even the idle Oarai commanders to hear. The Chi-Ha-Tan swarm took Ambush Team by complete surprise.

"Contact! Right, right!" Erwin ordered in a panic. The Type 97 Shinhoto commanded by Tamada sped towards the StuG III as it began to turn.

"Banzai!" Tamada shouted as the tank slid around on the moist soil, drifting right behind the StuG III. The 47mm gun fired into the rear hull, knocking out the StuG III. "We did it! We knocked out a German tank!" she cheered.

Her cheer did not last long, as the KV-1K had turned to face the charging horde. "Fire!" Laika commanded. The 76.2mm gun of the KV-1K fired and exploded against Tamada's Type 97 Shinhoto, knocking it out in a cloud of smoke.

The Tiger H2 roasted to the right as well and drove so that it was right next to the KV-1K. "Fire!" William shouted as the tank came to a stop. The 75mm Kwk 42 L/70 fired and its shell destroyed another Type 97.

"Get them!" Nishi ordered. Her tank surged forward recklessly at the Tiger, not even firing its machine guns to obscure Quinn's gunsight.

He calmly locked onto Nishi's tank. "Ready to fire!" Addison shouted. He pulled the trigger and a shell flew into the Type 97, knocking Nishi out of the match.

"I have gone down fighting righteously!" she declared.

"We shall avenge you, Nishi!" Hosomi shouted, her own Type 97 charged towards the Tiger.

"Give me another round," Quinn requested calmly. Addison responded by slamming another round into the gun. "Firing," he said.

The second verse was the same as the first, as the reckless Chi-Ha was knocked out with a plume of smoke and flame. "And that, my friends, is why you don't bring a Chi-Ha to a panzer fight," he said.

William facepalmed. "Stop with the crappy one-liners," he demanded.

Quinn shrugged. "I thought it was clever," he replied.

Addison rolled her eyes. "That's because you came up with it," she pointed out.

"And everything I come up with is great so that just reaffirms my point," Quinn rebuked, "so where are the rest of their tanks?"

The T22E1 fired its 75mm cannon at the last charging Type 97 while the KV-1K followed on a Type 95 Ha-Go. "Nice shot Jennifer, looks like you've still got it!" Patty complimented.

"Heck yeah, I do!" Jennifer cheered.

The three tanks drove towards the unarmed Type 97 Ho-K. "Alright everyone hold on, hold your fire," William requested, "poor fella is unarmed, there's no need for overkill. Who wants one more kill, Laika or Patty?"

They were interrupted by a rustling from a less dense section of bushes behind them. "Huh?" William asked as he turned around in his cupola. As he turned, a lone 9TP burst from the bushes and slid right behind William. Chi-Ha-Tan's most powerful gun, ironically their smallest caliber, pointed square at the Tiger's rear. William froze as the muzzle of the 9TP flashed and fired an APDS round straight into his tank's rear.

William winced and closed his eyes as the shell impacted. Every nerve in his body felt like they were frozen in liquid nitrogen. Damn it! All our effort gone because I got too damn cocky! His eyes started to feel wet as he let his comrades down by being reckless and unattentive. He waited in painful anticipation for the declaration of Chi-Ha-Tan's victory.

At least… that's what would've happened if Chi-Ha-Tan had more firepower. As he opened his eyes and the smoke cleared, the story was revealed. No white flag waved above his tank. The only remains of Maiko's last-ditch effort was a 24mm tungsten dart, squashed against the rear of his tank like a piece of gum.

"Fire!" Patty and Laika shouted as their turrets rotated to face the ambusher. The two guns fired and their shells crashed into the front of the 9TP and knocked it out.

William let out a great sigh of relief and fell back into his seat. "Guys… I am so sorry I let that 9TP slip my mind…" he said.

"Well, I sure as heck wasn't looking for it…" Quinn replied.

"Moving on, where's Chi-Ha-Tan's flag tank?" Addison asked. The three commanders of the remaining Ambush Team tanks poked their heads out of their hatches and looked around. The parking lot had been littered with jungle debris from the charge along with scraps of metal and shattered shells. Despite this, the Type 95 Ha-Go commanded by Fukuda was nowhere to be found. William turned to see Maiko climbing out of her commander's hatch. "Hey, commander of the 9TP!" William called out.

Maiko looked over. "Name's Maiko, what?" she replied, somewhat bitter from being knocked out when victory looked so near.

"Where's your guys' flag tank?" he asked.

Maiko chuckled. "Long gone, a 'farewell charge,' if you will," she answered with a smile.

"'Farewell charge?' What in the world does that mean?" William asked.

"Chi-Ha-Tan's not a big fan of the word 'retreat' and after that suicide charge, I bet you know why," Maiko answered.

William sighed. "Alright, looks like we're going to have to hunt them down. Shouldn't be too hard since they're on their own," he said.

Just to be sure Fukuda was the last tank remaining, Jennifer fired a round into the side of the Type 97 Ho-K, knocking it out of the match. "I have to say, that's pretty clever. I would have never thought to use a lumberjack tank," Patty complimented.

William put his headset on. "Anglerfish Team, this is Atrox Team reporting in. We were ambushed by the Chi-Ha-Tan main force, but we fought them off. Our only casualty is Hippo Team, but every tank other than Chi-Ha-Tan's flag tank is out," he reported.

"Is everyone okay?" Miho asked.

"Other than a few trees and bushes, yeah, we're all good," he answered, "what's the plan?"

"We'll have to start searching the jungle, spread out, and try to cover as much ground as you can," Miho ordered.

"Roger that, spreading out," William said, "you heard her guys, let's go track down that flag tank."

000

After quickly crossing the bridge over the Benoki River, Fukuda and her Type 95 Ha-Go sped down a gravel road. What do I do now? There's no way I can take out that Tiger… she thought sadly. She gripped her cupola with frustration. The only thing left for me to do is to go down fighting! That's the Chi-Ha-Tan spirit! She decided.

The road that she sped down led her to an open field the Artillery Team was occupying. She dove into her turret as the T1E1 started rotating to face her after Joseph ducked into the turret. Fukuda's eyes widened in fear as the 90mm gun closed in. "Take us into the field, get close to their tanks, and drive erratically!" she ordered to her driver.

Her driver nodded and responded by swerving the tank to the left onto the field and off the road, just in time to dodge a 90mm shell flying past them. The round just barely skimmed the side of her turret and flew into the landscape behind her. Fukuda grabbed her gun's grips and pressed her face against the reticle. As the T1E1's turret rotated to aim its 37mm gun, Fukuda fired a shot into its left track which knocked the gun away from the Type 95 just in time for it to fire its shell harmlessly into the air. She loaded another round into her gun as she sped past the crippled T1E1.

Turtle Team turned to face the Type 95. Momo fired the gun recklessly and the shell slammed into the dirt next to Fukuda as she stormed towards the tank. Her radio operator began firing the machine gun at the gun sights to worsen Momo's aim. Before Momo could reload, the Type 95 sped around her and fired a round into her thin side armor as she passed, knocking the Stridsvagn out of the match.

"Oh, now you're going to get it!" Victoria shouted as the Gun Carrier slowly started turning to the light tank. Fukuda reloaded her gun with determination and aimed down the sights. Just as the 8-inch howitzer glared down at her, she fired a round straight down the barrel! The gun spat out an enormous blast of fire as the tank was knocked out with a tremendous explosion. The Type 95 sped around the back of the Gun Carrier to see the Calliope aiming at her.

"Firing!" Kennedy shouted.

"Swerve!" Fukuda ordered. Just before the 75mm round hit the Type 95, it swerved out of the way to the right. "We can't take them out, let's get out of here!" she ordered, "Farewell charge!" The Type 95 sped into an opening in the jungle behind the field and disappeared from Medaka Team's sight.

"They got away!" Canaveral shouted in frustration. "Light up the trees with the rockets!" she ordered.

The Calliope turned its turret to where the Type 95 had disappeared and fired her rockets. The rockets screamed out of the launcher with fury and exploded in the trees, kicking up shrubbery and dust with a horrible explosion. The firestorm flourished as the launcher fired its remaining 55 rockets into the jungle one by one. After a full minute of explosions and destruction, the last rocket detonated and the smoke began to clear. The foliage and trees had been blasted aside and charred black, but no knockout declaration followed.

Joseph opened his hatch with annoyance. "Fine then! We'll do this the hard way!" He pulled out a screwdriver and dismounted his Tankgewehr. "Elliot, get your rifle and follow me!" he ordered as he jumped from the tank. He attached a sling to his rifle and slung it over his shoulder while Elliot leaped from his position with another Tankgewehr rifle that was stored behind his seat slung over his shoulder.

"Got it!" Elliot shouted. The two took off running towards the scorched jungle, running past the knocked-out tanks. They leaped over the bushes and pushed through the foliage without hesitation. Behind the initial thickets of greenery, the jungle took a dive into a small valley with a stream slowly flowing along. They slid down the mud embankment and onto the muddy ground lining the river. Joseph looked left and right quickly before seeing the Type 95 Ha-Go pushing through the mud to their left about one hundred meters from them. "Take aim!" he shouted. The two boys fell to the ground and unslung their rifles. They pressed their rifle stocks against their shoulders, dug the anti-tank rifle's bipods into the ground, and aimed down the iron sights. Simultaneously, they pulled the trigger with the flag tank in their sights.

The rifles fired, sending a crack through the air as the 13.2mm bullets flew towards the Type 95. One hit the turret, setting off a small explosion while another hit the rear, causing the engine deck to explode. "Chi-Ha-Tan's flag tank has been eliminated. Oarai Co-ed Academy is the winner!" Ami announced.

"Woo!" Joseph wheezed, "that was exciting."

"Yeah," Elliot replied, pulling open his rifle's bolt and letting the cartridge fly out.

Joseph slowly got onto his knees and patted his radio operator's back. "That was one hell of a shot," he complimented. In the corner of his eye, on the dirt embankment, he saw just a hint of movement from the mud. What the- he thought momentarily before he saw a small flick of a black forked tongue. Without hesitation, he grabbed Elliot and rolled him over his body so that he was between the mud bank and Elliot.

"What are you-" Elliot started before a Habu pit viper shot off the embankment. Joseph winced and shouted in pain as the snake clamped onto his shoulder. Its fangs penetrated his uniform and sank into his skin, injecting its venom.

Joseph grit his teeth and grabbed the snake behind its head so that it couldn't swing around and bite his arm. He pulled the snake from his shoulder with a grunt of pain and chucked it into the river as hard as he could. "Damn, damn, damn!" he shouted, feeling adrenaline and panic flow through his body, "antivenom, antivenom!" he demanded.

Elliot slung his commander's right arm over his shoulder and stumbled to his feet. "Come on!" he shouted and started to climb up the mud embankment. Every time they grabbed onto the mud; however, they just slid down. "Hey! Anyone! We need help!" Elliot shouted.

Canaveral and the rest of Medaka Team ran over through the foliage. "I heard a shout, what's going on!" she shouted.

"Joseph's been bit by a Habu!" Elliot answered.

Canaveral gasped. "Get the antivenom from the Calliope!" she demanded. Kennedy nodded and ran back to the tank. Vandenburg and Houston reached down and grabbed Joseph's arms. With a grunt and a tug, they pulled him up off the embankment.

"Damn, that hurts like a-" he started before crying out in pain. Vandenburg and Houston slung his arms over their shoulders and exited the jungle while Canaveral pulled Elliot up, who had slung their rifles over his shoulders.

Kennedy rushed over with a small white box with a red cross. She flipped it open and pulled out a syringe. She quickly took off the plastic lid and pulled up Joseph's tunic. He cried out as the syringe was jabbed into his abdomen and Kennedy injected the antivenom into his body. "Come on, we still have to get him to the medical tent!" Kennedy exclaimed.

"Put him in the radio operator's seat, we'll drive him there," Canaveral ordered. She turned to Elliot. "You weren't bit, were you?" she asked.

Elliot shook his head. "You guys go on ahead," he said.

Canaveral nodded. Houston and Vandenburg lowered Joseph into the radio operator's seat that they didn't crew in the Calliope. The rest of Medaka Team scrambled into their positions. The engine fired up and the Calliope sped off to the medical tent.

Elliot stood silently as the tank drove away. Slowly, he started making his way to the T1E1 where the rest of the crew had already started work. "I heard the announcement of our victory, I guess you got that Type 95?" Morgan asked.

"Yeah…" Elliot answered.

"Where's Joseph? Why'd Medaka Team sped off so quickly?" Kass asked.

"He was bitten by a Habu," Elliot solemnly answered.

The crew gasped. "Is he okay?!" Morgan asked.

"We administered the antivenom, but Medaka Team is taking him to the med tent."

Their unattended radio interrupted their conversation. "This Anglerfish Team, requesting a report on who took out the flag tank, over," Miho requested.

Elliot walked over and climbed into his seat, leaving the hatch open. "W-we did, but Joseph's hurt, he's on his way to the med tent now. We'll be heading there once our track is fixed," he reported. He didn't care to listen for a response. He shut down the radio and climbed back out.

000

The fog of pain and confusion finally began to fade as Joseph lay on a cot in the medical tent. When a doctor shined a light into his eyes, he recoiled and turned his head away. "Hey, can you not try to blind me?!" he exclaimed irately.

"Finally, you're responsive," the doctor noted, "how do you feel?"

"Tired mostly, could use a drink," he replied.

The doctor handed him a small paper cup of water. Joseph took it gratefully and drank it all. When he was finished he set it aside. "Now, where am I?" he asked.

"You're in the medical tent for the match that was held today," the doctor answered, "do you remember what happened and why you're here?"

"It's starting to come back… I knocked out the flag tank with Elliot and then I remember… I got bit by a Habu, and then I was here," he answered.

"Good, your memory has mostly been untouched. Do you feel any pain?" the doctor asked.

"Sore, but nothing terrible," Joseph answered.

Outside nearby, the members of Oarai's Sensha-do team sat on picnic tables or on the grass waiting for word on Joseph's condition. Miho sat down at the table the rest of Hyena Team sat at. "What happened? How'd he get bit?" she asked gently.

Elliot winced. "W-we got out of our tank with our Tankgewehrs and went after the flag tank," he nervously answered.

Miho froze. "You did what!?" she shouted, stood up, and slammed her hands against the table.

"We went after the flag tank on foot," Elliot answered, starting to get defensive, "I was just following orders!"

"I made it very clear that we would not attack tanks on foot!" Miho angrily shouted.

"What? I never was told anything like that," Elliot protested.

Miho clenched her jaw and her entire body began to shake. "Don't lie to me! We aren't here to just win! We're here to do battle in a safe manner! Charging after a tank on foot isn't safe!"

"What's the difference if we use our rifles from our hatches or on foot?" Elliot asked meekly.

"This is the difference!" Miho shouted, pointing to the medical tent, "nobody gets bit by snakes from their tanks, you can duck and hide from enemy fire, you're not at risk of getting run over! It's not fair to the other team to get fired on by a person either, what are they supposed to do? Fire back and possibly hurt someone?"

The team froze and watched in stunned silence. Elliot froze as well and stepped back. He took off his helmet and dropped it to the ground. "I-I-" he stuttered, "I just was following orders…" he mumbled.

"No, no you weren't," Miho stated, "my orders supersede his, and my order was to never, under any circumstance, engage an enemy on foot."

Elliot looked downwards dejected "I'm sorry, I let the rush of battle get to my head…" he apologized and started walking away with tears in his eyes.

Miho began to follow him when Tanner grabbed her arm firmly. "Don't go after him," he said without looking at her. "He needs time alone."

She watched as Elliot climbed into the T1E1 and shut all the hatches. Had anyone approached the heavy tank, they would've heard all the hatches lock and very loud sobbing come from within. But nobody approached the heavy tank that sat on the side of a gravel road, ignored by passersby and spectators.
