Chapter 42: Chaos at the Mall

Miguel, Chase, and Anthony walk back over to the table, only to hear shouting coming from the mall's entrance.

"That's Sam!" Anthony shouts.

"You two stay here, I'll go check it out." Miguel says as he runs over. When he gets to the entrance, he sees Sam, Robby, Eli, and Demetri fighting Cobra Kai. Aaron arrives at the same time as Miguel.

"Come on, let's see what you're made of." Aaron says before trying to punch Miguel. Miguel wasn't going to hold back. He catches Aaron's punch and elbows his arm. He then knees Aaron in the chest and punches him in the face. Miguel then backs up and delivers a roundhouse kick into Aaron's face, sending him to the ground. Sam was fighting Steve. Steve attempts to punch Sam in the face, but she blocks it using her arm. She tries to trip Steve but he backs up. Steve delivers a spinning back kick that Sam is able to catch. She elbows his knee and sweeps his other leg out from under him. Steve doesn't stay on the ground for long before doing a kip up to get back on his feet. Eli and Demetri were fighting waves of Cobras that were coming their way. Eli punches one Cobra in the chest and throws him into a second Cobra, sending them both down. He then turns and kicks a third Cobra in the face. Demetri catches one Cobra's punch and pulls the Cobra closer to him. He uses the Cobra as a human shield to block a second Cobra's front kick. Demetri throws the first Cobra to the ground and front kicks the second Cobra in the chest.

Later…

Chase and Anthony were sitting at the table as waves of people ran past them to see the mall fight. However, that's when they notice Kenny approaching them.

"Dude, we got to move!" Anthony shouts. Anthony helps Chase get to his feet and the two try to get away from Kenny. Unfortunately, he catches up to them.

"Where do you think you're going, LaPusso?" Kenny shouts before kicking Anthony in the back. Anthony falls to the ground. Chase raises his right crutch and uses it to hit Kenny in the head.

"You asshole!" Kenny shouts before kicking Chase. Chase falls to the ground and Kenny gets on top of him.

Later…

The brawl at the mall's entrance continued as tons of onlookers watched in awe. Robby was fighting Kyler. Kyler charges at Robby who is simply able to sweep Kyler's legs out from under him.

"Really, dude?" Robby asks. Kyler gets up and tries to punch Robby. He ducks and punches Kyler in the chest. Kyler goes down slightly, giving Robby the opportunity to knee him in the face. Kyler goes down, groaning in pain. Robby then spots Brian.

"Wait! I don't want to fight you!" Brian shouts.

"Then why did you guys strip James?" Robby shouts.

"I'm sorry. I didn't realize they were gonna take things that far." Brian says. While Robby is distracted, Kyler is able to get up and tackle him to the ground.

"Thanks for the distraction!" Kyler says before punching Robby in the face.

"I wasn't trying to..." Brian says before looking down.

Later…

Miguel and Aaron's fight was still going on. Aaron was getting absolutely destroyed by Miguel. Aaron couldn't land a single hit on him. Miguel kicks Aaron in the chest, sending him into a table. Their fight had extended to the food court.

"Had enough?" Miguel asks. Aaron laughs before chucking a chair at Miguel. Miguel is completely unprepared and gets hit at full force. He collapses to the ground. Aaron picks up another chair and hits Miguel while he's still down.

Later…

Sam and Steve's fight had moved to the escalators. They were fighting while moving up. Sam kicks Steve in the face, sending him down a few steps. Steve quickly gets back up. He runs up to Sam and tris to elbow her in the face. Sam catches his arm, kicks him in the knee, and then pushes him down the escalator. Steve wasn't having it. It was time to fight dirty. Steve runs up to Sam but doesn't attack. Sam strikes first and tries to punch him. However, he dodges and grabs her hair. He pulls on it, making her scream. Steve then pushes Sam over the side of the up escalator and onto the down one. Steve jumps over as well and now the fight was going downwards.

Later…

Kenny punches Chase in the face over and over again. However, what he doesn't notice is Anthony sneaking up behind him. Anthony hits Kenny over the side of the head with a chair, making him hit the ground. Anthony helps Chase up and gives him his crutches. Kenny tries to get up, but Chase kicks him in the face.

"Stay down!" Chase shouts.

"Chase! You used your injured leg!" Anthony shouts.

"I did! Holy shit, It's healing!" Chase shouts.

"Let's find the others." Anthony says as he and Chase walk away from Kenny.

Later…

The Cobras were nearly finished. Eli and Demetri were making quick work of them. One Cobra runs at Eli. He knees the Cobra and pushes him towards Demetri. Demetri punches the Cobra in the face and throws him to the ground. The final Cobra runs at Demetri. Demetri does a side kick, kicking the Cobra to Eli. Eli does a flying elbow, knocking him to the ground. Kyler couldn't keep Robby on the ground for long. Robby headbutts Kyler and manages to get up. Kyler charges at Robby. When Kyler reaches him, Robby grabs him and throws him to the ground. When Kyler gets up, Robby knocks him into the wall with a spinning back kick.

Later…

Before Aaron can hit Miguel with the chair again, Miguel knees him in the crouch. Aaron yelps in pain and is forced to drop the chair. Miguel then headbutts him and is able to stand up. Miguel finishes him with a side kick to the chest, sending him flying over a table. After this, a janitor comes over.

"I don't get paid enough for this." The janitor says.

"Sorry." Miguel says before running away.

Later…

Sam and Steve were back on the ground floor. Sam knees Steve in the chest and then kicks him into a support pillar. She punches him several times and then throws him to the ground.

"Stupid bitch!" Steve says while getting up. That's when Anthony arrives and, without thinking, pushes him in the back. Steve turns around and that's when Sam is able to sweep his legs. Steve collapses to the ground in pain. Anthony, Miguel, Robby, Eli, Demetri, and Chase all join Sam in watching Steve.

"You're finished. Go." Sam says.

"I'll make you guys pay for this." Steve says before getting up and walking away.

James's POV:

I don't even know where I am anymore. I'm naked, hiding on a street corner. Eventually, a police car pulls up next to me.

"James! What's going on?" Detective Alfonso asks.

"Cobra Kai ambushed me at the mall. They stripped me!" I shout.

"Oh God. Get over here James." Detective Alfonso says.

Later…

I'm in the police station, in a new change of clothes.

"So, Steve was the mastermind behind all of this?" Detective Alfonso asks.

"Yeah." I say.

"I knew something like this would happen. That monster shouldn't have been released." Detective Alfonso says.

"It's okay, it's not your fault." I say.

"I promise. We'll do whatever we can to find evidence of what Steve did. The mall has CCTV so we'll start with that." Detective Alfonso says.

"Thanks for being on my side." I say.

Third Person POV:

"We need to get revenge on the Miyagi-Fangs for what they did!" Steve shouts.

"Oh we will, just not with you." Kenny says.

"What are you talking about?" Steve asks.

"Your 'brilliant' plan led to us getting our asses kicked!" Kenny shouts.

"That's not my fault! I had no way of knowing a brawl would start!" Steve points out.

"Doesn't matter. Point is, if we hadn't done anything, we wouldn't have suffered a humiliating defeat." Kenny says.

"Well, maybe you guys are just bad fighters. You ever think of that?" Steve challenges.

"You're seriously calling us bad fighters after you lost to James during the tournament?" Kenny asks.

"You lost to a guy in crutches and a guy who hasn't taken a karate lesson in his life!" Steve shouts. He then turns to Aaron. "What were you thinking, trying to take on Miguel all by yourself?" Steve challenges.

"You tried to take on Sam all by yourself, so don't try to make me look stupid." Aaron says

"Are you calling me stupid? Did you forget that I kicked your ass in juvie?" Steve asks while sizing up Aaron.

"Guys, just stop! We don't need to be fighting!" Brian shouts.

"Shut up." Steve says.

"You're no longer a part of this team. Don't you ever try to come near us again." Kenny says before he and the rest of the Cobras walk away.

James's POV:

I'm sitting on a bench in the park, waiting for my friends to meet me. Eventually, I see the Miyagi-Fang students and Anthony show up.

"Hey guys." I say.

"James! Are you okay?" Sam asks.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I say before Sam hugs me.

"Don't worry we got payback for you." Eli says while smiling.

"You did?" I question.

"Yeah. Sam started a brawl with the Cobras. We actually won." Demetri says happily.

"No way." I say.

"Anthony over here helped me with Kenny." Chase says proudly. Anthony smiles.

"Heh, maybe you should join Miyagi-Fang." I say.

"You know what? I've been thinking about it and…I think I will." Anthony says. I'm pleasantly surprised.

"Good to have you on the team." I say.

"That's not all." Chase says before lifting his injured leg.

"No way!" I shout.

"Yep! My leg is healing!" Chase says excitedly. It was nice talking to all my friends like this. That's when I notice Sam lost in thought.

"Sam? What's up?" I ask.

"I think…I think I know how we can convince my dad to continue fighting!" Sam exclaims.

Later…

All of the Miyagi-Fang students were gathered in the Miyagi-Do dojo, including Sensei Lawrence and a new Sensei that I didn't recognize. I was standing next to Chase. We were all here to convince Mr. LaRusso to continue fighting. Soon, Mr. LaRusso, Mrs. LaRusso, Sam, and Robby came outside to where we were all standing.

"You're not alone anymore. So what do you say, dad? Will you fight?" Sam asks.

Mr. LaRusso looks at all of us and we bow. I think it worked.

Author's Note: Writing the mall brawl was so much fun. I hope you guys enjoyed it. Although James wasn't a part of it, I promise that he will be involved in major fights in the future. How do you think James will handle the Cobras in the future? Will Chase be able to continue fighting soon? What will Steve do now that the Cobras want nothing to do with him?
