A/N: Hello readers and welcome to chapter 1. In this chapter we'll see Lincoln path from a regular kid to superhero.
May 2014
Royal Woods, Michigan. Home to over 250,000 people. The city wasn't really remarkable, but it was home to several good people. One of those residents was Lincoln Loud. He was your normal twelve-year-old boy. He had a loving mother and father and nine sisters, with a tenth one on the way.
Living in the Loud House wasn't easy for Lincoln. With all the chaos, and his sisters sometimes budding into his business. But Lincoln wouldn't trade it for the world. However, there were moments Lincoln felt inadequate to his sisters, due to the fact that they all had special skills while he was just ordinary.
However, soon Lincoln would find his calling. But it would come at a humongous price.
It was Saturday in the Loud House. Lincoln happens to wake up early. "Ah." Lincoln yawns as he gets up from his bed. "Huh, only seven thirty. That means I'm up before everyone." Lincoln notes to himself as he looks at his clock. He then does a quick and light stretch to get himself ready for the day. After that he quickly use the restroom, thanking his lucky stars that no one else was beat him to it.
After that Lincoln went downstairs to watch TV. "Ugh, there's nothing good on this morning." Lincoln complained after flipping through channels for the last ten minutes. Just then Lincoln heard his stomach growling. "Huh, guess it would be a good time to make breakfast." Lincoln said as he heads into the kitchen. After grabbing an apron, he began to cook breakfast for himself and his sisters.
Thirty-five minutes later Lincoln finished cooking breakfast. There were waffles, sausages, eggs, and bacon. Just as he set everything on the dinner table as his sisters come downstairs. "Wow Lincoln, you did all this?" Loir asked as she spots all the food on the table. "Yeah, I got hungry and decided to cook all of us some breakfast." Lincoln tells them. "That's so nice Linky." Leni says. "Rocking cooking skills bro." Luna compliments. "Thanks. Now let's eat." Lincoln says sitting down at the table.
"Mmm, this is egg-cellent Lincoln." Luan joked as she eats her breakfast. Her siblings however just groaned at Luan's obvious and stale joke. A few minutes later both of Lincoln's parents, Rita and Lynn Sr entered the kitchen. "Hey kids, wow! Who did all this great cooking?" Lynn Sr asks. "Thank Lincoln. He's the reason why we're chowing down right now." Lynn remarks as she then burps.
"Wow honey, you really did all this?" Rita asked her son. "Yep. I got up early and just decided to cook breakfast for everyone." Lincoln says answering his mother's question. "Well thanks son, you definitely saved me some time this morning." Lynn Sr tells Lincoln. "No problem dad." Lincoln says.
The family continue to eat their breakfast until Rita brought up something. "So kids, anything to do today?" She asks her children. "I have a meeting with my morticians club at one." Lucy replies with a sigh. "Me and my comedy are going to be rehearsing a play today at two thirty." Luan says. "Me and Sam have a gig at the bowling alley today at four." Luna comments. "Anyone else?" Rita asked, knowing that her kids' activities normally occupied her day.
"Well, I have a golf tournament today. Speaking of, Lincoln, I need you to be my caddy today." Lori tells her little brother. "Wait a minute Lori, I'm..." However, before Lincoln could finish his sentence, he was interrupted by Lola. "Sorry Lori but Lincoln will be with me today." She said using her pageant voice. "Today's the is the little miss cutie pie pageant and I can't afford to lose." Lola adds. "But Lola I'm..." Once again Lincoln was cut off. This time by Lynn. "Sorry to burst you're bubble princess, but Lincoln is going to come my game today. One more win and we'll be the number one seed. And since Stinkon over here hasn't been to a game this season he owes me." Lynn said eyeballing Lincoln.
This led to the three girls getting into an argument which led into a scuffle between them. "Girls! Stop fighting!" Their mother said to no avail. But then Lincoln spoke up. "Guys! I have my own plans today." He tells them. This catches everyone's attention, including Lori, Lynn and Lola. "You have plans? Lana questioned in disbelief. "Yes." Lincoln remarked, slightly insulted by what Lana insinuated. "Don't take this personally dear brother but, you are not one to typically have something of importance to do." Lisa states.
Lincoln groaned in annoyance by Lisa's comment before saying, "Well today I do. Me and Pop-Pop plan to spend the whole day together." He informs his family. "You and dad? When did you two plan this?" Rita asked, wondering why she was just hearing this. "I called him four days ago and asked if he mind if we hung out. He didn't have a problem with it, so he's coming over today." Lincoln explains. "Well that's good sport, you could use some time with your grandpa." Lynn Sr exclaims in approval. "Ugh fine. I guess I can ask Bobby to be my caddy." Lori says as she begins to text her boyfriend. "I guess I can let it slide, but you're coming to my first playoff game." Lynn sternly tells Lincoln. "B-But what about my pageant Lincoln?" Lola asked with a whinny tone. "You're going to be fine Lola, you're already the cutest girl in the competition." Lincoln complements trying to raise Lola's spirit. "Yeah, I guess you're right." Lola says.
"Anyone else have anything to do?" Rita asks the rest of the kids, who all shake their head no. "Okay then, Lynn, do you think you can watch the rest of the kids today?" She asks her husband. "Sure honey." He replied.
Later on in the day Lincoln was in the living room watching TV when suddenly, a knock came to the door. "I'm coming." Lincoln says. He gets up from the couch and heads towards the door. He opens it to see his grandfather, Albert Loud. "Heya kiddo." Albert says. "Pop-Pop!" Lincoln exclaims as he hugs his grandfather. "it's nice to see you too Lincoln." Albert says as he hugs back.
After a moment the two disengage the hug. "How are Pop-Pop?" Lincoln asks. "I feel great. I'm glad I get to hang out with my favorite grandson." Albert says, which causes Lincoln to chuckle. "Pop-Pop, I'm your only grandson." Lincoln says wittily. "Doesn't mean you aren't my favorite." Albert says with a bit of pride. "Anyway, you ready to go?" Albert asked Lincoln. "I just need to grab a few things, be right back." Lincoln tells him as he heads upstairs.
Lincoln grabs his house keys and his phone from his room before heading back downstairs. "Alright I'm ready to go." Lincoln says as he and Albert then exit the house.
Over the next four hours Lincoln and Albert spent having fun. They first went fishing, with Lincoln catching a nice five pounder and Albert catching an impressive twenty-pound fish. Next up was indoor rock climbing. Albert, despite his old age was great at it. As for Lincoln, due to his lack of upper body strength struggled at rock climbing at first, but thanks to his determination he made it to the top. Finally, they went bowling. Lincoln was a fair good bowler as he posted a score of 125. However, Albert was even better as he bowled a very good 230.
The two had so much fun together. But all good things have to come to an end. As we now see Albert and Lincoln riding back to the Loud House, while they're enjoying a good laugh. "Haha, so Lincoln, did you have fun today?" Albert asked. "You bet Pop-Pop. I'm still kind of shock that I made it to the top of that rock tower." Lincoln admits. "That just shows you have great determination." Albert says with wisdom. "I guess you have a point. I wonder what my sisters would say if I said if I said I managed to get to the top?" Lincoln questions out of nowhere.
Albert then notices the sudden change in Lincoln tone. "Uh, is there something you want to tell me kiddo?" Albert asks with a hint of concern. "Oh uh... it's nothing Pop-Pop." Lincoln says dismissively. "You can't fool me, Lincoln. Is there something going on between you and one of your sisters?" Albert questions. "No, no. It's not that... It's just... that sometimes I feel inferior to them." Lincoln confesses as he turns to look out the window. Albert was shocked by hearing this. Lincoln wasn't cocky but he was definitely someone who believed in himself. So, to hear that he has an inferiority complex caught him off guard.
"Why would you feel like that?" Albert asks. "Well for one, they all have something that they're good at. Lori has gold, Leni has fashion, Luna has music, Luan has comedy and acting, Lynn's good at every other sport, Lucy is a poet, Lana is good with mechanics, and she helps animals, Lola is a pageant star and Lisa's a genius. Meanwhile I have nothing. Not only that but, I don't even know what I want to do in my future. Meanwhile Lisa is three years old and already has planned out the next forty years." Lincoln said a bit envious.
"I'm sure there's something your good at Lincoln. You just need to find it." Albert advises. "Sure Pop-Pop." Lincoln responded, although he still felt distraught about the situation. Couple a minutes later Albert drives into the parking lot of a gas station. "Uh, Pop-Pop why are we at a gas station?" Lincoln asks. "Just need to get some fuel up the car. This shouldn't too long, just stand by the pump." Albert instructs. Lincoln nods and does what his grandfather had asked while he went inside. Lincoln stood out there for five minutes and Pop-Pop had still not come out yet. He was about to go inside to inside and see what was taking him when he felt something touch the back off his head.
"No sudden movements kid otherwise; I blow your brains out." A voice from behind Lincoln said. In that instant Lincoln immediately started fearing for his life. Someone had just threatened to shoot him if he didn't comply to their demands. "Now turn around, slowly." He commanded. Lincoln did as he was told as he turned around slowly as he saw who was behind him. It was a male who was wearing a ski mask so that no one could see his face. "Now step aside." He orders. Reluctantly, Lincoln does what he's told. The crook force open the car door to Pop-Pop's car and began to hotwire it.
"Lincoln?" Both Lincoln and the crook look to see Albert who had just come out of the store. Before Lincoln could respond the crook grabs him and puts him into a hold as well as points the gun at his head. "Back off gramps, otherwise you'll have to burry your grandson." The crook threatens. "No don't he just a boy. You don't need to shoot him." Albert says pleading the man would show mercy. The crook face then contorted into a wicked smirk as he says, "Wasn't planning to."
*POW* *POW*
Lincoln could barely register what had happened before seeing Albert's body fall to the ground. The crook then threw Lincoln as he gets inside Albert's car and takes off in it. Lincoln rushes to Albert and sees that blood is leaving his body. Lincoln begins to cry as he knows his grandfather is dying. "Pop-Pop! Please, you got to hang on!" Lincoln tells him pleading. "L-Lincoln, I-it's alright. J-Just tell your m-mother I'm sorry." He says as light slowly started to fade. "Pop-Pop, please you got to be okay. HELP! SOMEONE HELP! MY GRANDFATHER IS DYING!" Lincoln shouted in despair, looking for someone to help his dying grandfather. But it was no use, as on this day, Albert Loud died.
Two weeks later
It had been two weeks since Albert died. When the police came and found Lincoln crying over his dead body it was easy to tell what happened. After confirming his death, the police took Lincoln home. Then they had to explain what happened as Lincoln was still in a shock state. The mood in the Loud House immediately went sad. Not only did they lose a father/father-in-law/grandfather, but they're son/brother had just been traumatized.
The funeral was a few days later. Many of the Loud's friends came to show their support. Lincoln didn't say the word the entire time during the funeral, until he was alone with Albert's grave where he swore that he would never let anything like this happen again. After that, it was unusually quiet in the Loud House. Everyone had felt they had lost a part of them. It was especially bad for Lincoln. He was having constant nightmares. His mind kept replaying what happened that night, and what he could've done differently.
And it had become apparent to everyone to the Loud House that Lincoln wasn't himself anymore. So a couple of his sisters decided that it was time for an intervention.
*Knock* *Knock*
Lincoln heard a knock at his door. He opens it to see Lori, Luna and Leni at the door. "Oh hey guys, what's up?" Lincoln asks in his normal tone. "Listen little bro, we need to talk." Luna tells him with a serious expression. "About what? I haven't touched any of your stuff if that's what you mean." Lincoln replies. "You know what we mean Lincoln. You've been acting weird the last few weeks." Lori said sternly. "Weird? I been acting like myself." He responded. "Bruh, you haven't read any comic books, played any video games or even hang out with Clyde." Luna list. "Plus, we know about you having nightmares. The wall are hollow remember." Lori reminds him.
Lincoln didn't lime where this was going. He felt like they were about to talk about a something he really didn't wanted to be reminded of. "Linky, is this about Pop-Pop?" Leni asks. And there it was, the one thing Lincoln didn't want to talk about. He felt tears in his eyes, but he didn't let them shed. At least not in front of his sisters. "Look guys, I'm fine. I may have had trouble sleeping some nights but that's all behind me." Lincoln lies as he holds back the tears.
He then walks past his three sisters and out of the room and then leaving the house. "Was it something I said?" Leni questioned, not understanding why Lincoln left abruptly.
Once Lincoln left the house, he decided to go to the park to clear his mind. He was sitting on a park bench, just thinking to himself. 'Why can't they just leave me alone. It's not like they actually understand. Or care for that matter.' Lincoln thought bitterly to himself. As he continued to think he suddenly got hit by a random tree branch. He looks up to see that there was a kid in the tree above where he was sitting.
The boy looked to be about his age. He also had blond hair and blue eyes. "Hey, sorry about that." He apologizes. "No worries. But what are you doing up there?" Lincoln's asks. "Just reading the newest issue of my favorite comic book series." The boy replies. "Comic book fan huh, I happen to be a comic book fan too." Lincoln tells him. The boy smiled from hearing this. He then proceeded to jump out of the tree and land right in front of Lincoln.
"Woah, nice jump." Lincoln complements. "Thanks. Been doing that since I was six. Anyway, you love comics too?" He asks with a gleeful smile. "Yeah. I read lots of comics like Ultra Man." Lincoln tells the kid. "Oh yeah, he's a pretty good superhero. For me, I enjoy reading the Night Owl series." The boy responds. "Night Owl?" Lincoln questioned, as he had never heard of him.
"Yeah, Night Owl. He's this superhero who uses all these gadgets to mimic an owl's traits and uses them to fight crime. He's so awesome! And his origin story is great too!" The boy exclaimed. This was getting Lincoln more intrigued. "What's his origin?" He asked the boy. "Well apparently, when he was a kid, his father was killed right in front of him by this gang member. So, he decided to dedicate his life on taking down criminals like that down." The boy explains.
'Huh, sounds familiar.' Lincoln thought before pushing it to the side. "Well, that does sounds interesting. I'll definitely be sure to check it out." Lincoln says. He was about to walk away when the boy had a question for him. "Hey, you're going to Royal Woods Middle School come August, right?" The boy questioned. "Yeah, why?" Lincoln asks. "Cool, so am I. My name's Henry by the way. Henry Miller." He introduces. "Lincoln Loud." Lincoln replies. "Well, see you later Lincoln." Henry says before running off.
'Hmm, he was nice.' Lincoln thought.
1 month later
A month passed after Lincoln met Henry. Lincoln decided to get some Owl Man comics like Henry suggested and started to read them. And Lincoln had to admit, they were pretty good. He could see a connection to his own life. And that's when it dawned on him. He could become a hero, just like Owl Man.
Well not just like Owl Man, he also wanted to take inspiration from his Ultra Man comics. That way he could have Owl Man's skills but Ultra Man's optimism. And the first way to do that would be to train his body. So, one day Lincoln talked to his parents about taking martial arts classes. "Eh, I don't know Lincoln. This just seems so out of the blue you know." Lynn Sr says to Lincoln after hearing his request.
"I know dad, but please?" Lincoln begged. "Why do you even want to learn martial arts?" Rita asked her son. "I need to learn how to defend myself, that way I'm prepared in case of emergency." Lincoln explained. Although he didn't say it, his parents could tell the real reason he wanted the lessons. Because of what happened to Pop-Pop. "Okay sweetie. We'll get you the lessons if you promise that you'll only use them in self-defense." Rita says with a sigh. "Woohoo. Thanks mom and dad." Lincoln says as he hugs his parents.
A few days later Rita was driving Lincoln to his first lesson. It only took them twenty minutes to get to the dojo where the classes took place. "Now remember sweetie, the class if for an hour and a half. I'll be at the mall in the meantime. Call me when your lesson is over." She tells Lincoln. "Yes mom." He replies before getting out of Vanzilla.
Lincoln then headed inside the dojo. Once he signed in, he made his way to the training area, where he just so happens to spot a familiar face. She had tan skin, black hair and wore a purple hoodie and leggings. "Ronnie Anne?" Lincoln questioned aloud. And when he did she happened to hear him, causing her to turn around to see Lincoln.
"Uh, do I know you?" She asked. "Um, not really. You did happen to put a sloppy joe in my chair once or twice at lunch. I'm Lincoln Loud." He introduces. "Loud huh." She says as the name sounded familiar, but she didn't dwell on it. "So uh, what bring you here?" Lincoln asks. "To help control my aggression as my mom would put it." She answered before following up with, "So what's a scrawny kid like you doing here?" She both questioned and insulted.
"Just here to learn how to defend myself." Lincoln answers. "Word of advice... These guys don't take it easy, and neither do I." She says intimidatingly as she gets in Lincoln's face. However, the white-haired boy didn't back down. "I look forward to the challenge." He tells her before walking off. 'Hmm, looks like he has more backbone than I first thought.
Soon Lincoln got changed into his GI that came with a white belt, and over the next 90 minutes he proceeded to learn the basics of karate. The punches, kicks and other strikes. He managed to pick it up quite easily. Impressing both his instructor and Ronnie Anne, the ladder of whom would never admit it. Soon enough the lesson had come to an end. And Lincoln left feeling confident that he could master karate within a year.
2 years later/Year:2016
Two years have gone by since Albert's death. Lincoln is now fourteen years old. And he sure has changed over the last two years.
He's now five foot five inches tall. His white hair is a bit curlier than how he kept it a few years ago. Also, he switched out his orange polo shirts for a plane black shirt with an orange jacket. He was a bit more reclusive, as he didn't hang out with his friends after school as much as he use to. But he still was the same caring person, and it showed when his mother had a tenth daughter named Lily, who was born just over a year ago. And she was very attached to Lincoln, and he definitely wanted to be a good big brother for her.
As for Lincoln's side project he was making tremendous pace on that as well. Not only did he master karate within a year, but he also added kung fu and some kickboxing into his arsenal too. He also took up dart throwing so that he could become a better marksman which proved to be a good investment as he also excelled at that. His plan was finally coming together, all he needed was a few more things.
It was your average day in the Loud House. Lori was on her phone, Leni was looking at a fashion magazine, Luna was thinking up lyrics for her next song, Luan was practicing telling jokes, Lynn was working out, Lucy was practicing her poems as well as doing rituals, Lola and Lana were arguing and lastly Lisa was in her room doing experiments.
However, her experimenting was then interrupted by a knock at her and Lily's door. "Come in." Lisa says not taking her eyes off her experiment. Then a moment later Lincoln entered the room. "Ah Lincoln, what brings you?" Lisa asks. "I need to talk to you. It's important." Lincoln says vaguely. This caught Lisa's attention as she turns to face her brother. "I'm normally not the person people in this household go to in order to talk about important matters. So, if you don't mind me asking, what is so important that you've come for my opinion?" Lisa questions.
"Meet me outside in the backyard in five minutes and you'll find out." Lincoln vaguely replies, trying not reveal any details just yet. He then leaves the room as Lisa feel perplexed. Whatever Lincoln wanted to discuss with her had certainly gotten her attention. Five minutes later Lisa went outside and into the backyard where she spotted Lincoln and boxes of stuff standing next to the hatch leading into her bunker/underground lab.
"Hmm, this is certainly peculiar brother. I assume you wish to speak to me inside my bunker and that these boxes have something to do with it." Lisa assumes. "Yeah, couldn't talk inside the house, walls are to hollow, and I don't want anyone to know about this." Lincoln says. Lisa just raises an eyebrow in both confusion and suspicion. But agrees to Lincoln's terms and the two head into the bunker with Lincoln carrying those boxes inside.
"Okay Lincoln, we're in a secluded space. So, what is it that you wish to discuss?" Lisa asks determined to find out what Lincoln wants. "First, you have to promise that you won't tell the others." Lincoln tells her. Reluctantly Lisa nods her head. Lincoln then breathes a sigh of relief before continuing. "So, the thing is... I have a plan to help the city." Lincoln worded. "So, you've come to me in order to get help on community service?" Lisa inquires with a raised eyebrow. "Not exactly." Lincoln says as he opens the boxes he brought. And inside these boxes were a grappling gun, multiple throwing stars as well as a Bo staff and Nun-chucks. This made Lisa even more baffled than what she was already. "Uh dear brother, why do you have all this equipment?" Lisa questions.
"The truth is... Crime in the city has been rampant, and I've decided to do something about it. This stuff is to help me, and I'm telling you this because... I want you to join me." Lincoln tells Lisa with the most serious expression she's ever seen from him. Lisa was beyond bewildered. Her brother had just asked her to help him to be a vigilante. "Lincoln, is there something wrong with your cerebrum? Not only is your request absolutely asinine but it is also reckless, not to mention illegal!" Lisa exclaims with an angered and concern tone. "I understand that Lisa, but I have to do it. This city needs someone who will fight for them. And not because they're paid to do it, but because it's the right thing to do." Lincoln responds and showing conviction as he does. Lisa did have to admit, what Lincoln said does have some truth to it. Still, she couldn't go along with it, well at least not until she asked one question.
"You may have a point Lincoln, however, why do you feel like YOU need to be the one to do it?" Lisa questions. And there it was, the million-dollar question. Frankly Lincoln was expecting Lisa to ask that question, but that didn't mean that it was easy to answer. "The reason is because of Pop-Pop." Lincoln says. "What?" Lisa says, shocked that Lincoln even mentioned their deceased grandfather. "He died because I was some scared little boy, and because there was no one around to help. Now, I'm no longer that scared little boy. And I plan to that someone who's there to help." Lincoln says restating his point... A moment of silence passed as Lisa took in what her brother's words meant. "Okay Lincoln, you gotten me to consider your offer. I will let you know of my decision tomorrow." Lisa replies with a sigh.
Lincoln smiled hearing that from Lisa. "Thank you, Lisa. If you do end up deciding to join, then would look at this?" He requested as he handed her a notebook. "It's some other ideas I have." He tells her. "Very well, I will look through it. However, know that I still think this is a bad idea." Lisa says as she climbs up the ladder to exit the bunker. 'She'll come around.' Lincoln thinks to himself before exiting the bunker himself.
The next day Lincoln was in his room reading a comic book when he heard a knock at his door. When he answered the door, he was greeted by Lisa. "Oh, hey Lisa what's up?" He asked in his usual polite tone. "Come with me brother." Lisa simply says. Lincoln begins to follow Lisa until the two were outside and in the backyard. "So, you want to talk in your bunker." Lincoln assumes. "Correct. I made some changes that you might like." Lisa states. The two then enter the bunker along with Lisa and sees it's been completely reconstruction.
Lincoln sees multiple computer screens, multiple display cases and a gadget table. There was even a training area (basically imagine it's the arrow cave but Loud House style). "Wow Lisa, you did all this?" Lincoln asked in amazement. "Indeed. I thought about your offer as well as you're reasoning and came to the conclusion that you were right. Legal or not, this city does need someone who will be there to help them when law enforcement isn't there." Lisa states. "Thank you, Lisa." Lincoln says. "No problem brother. Now then, let me show you around." Lisa says as she brings him to the gadget table.
"Here is the gadgets table. This here are smoke pellets. Throw them down and they'll administer a thick black smoke." Lisa explains. "That will definitely help with stealth." Lincoln notes. "Next here is a device I like to call the stunner. It can give a jolt or disperse a small electromagnetic pulse, disabling any electronic device within its range." Lisa informs Lincoln who nods in understanding. "And here we have is my favorite device. Explosive Gels. Place one against any surface and moments later it will deploy a compacted explosion." Lisa says. "That will come in handy in a pinch." Lincoln says.
"And as for the weapons you showed me yesterday, I also modified them as well." Lisa informs him. "What do you mean modify?" Lincoln inquires. "Allow me to show you." Lisa says as she takes out the Bo staff Lincoln showed her yesterday. Lincoln first noticed how the Bo staff was colored red and blue. "Here is your Bo staff. It appears normal but, by one press of a button we have..." Lisa began as she presses the button on the staff to reveal a switchblade. "I added it in case you needed to catapult yourself or you needed to slice through metal." Lisa says. "I got to admit, it does look cool." Lincoln says.
Next Lisa grabbed the Nun-chucks. "As for your Nun-chucks, I installed a similar modification." Lisa says as she presses a button on the Nun-chucks revealing spike chains. "I installed these in case you needed to climb atop buildings or other structures." Lisa says. Lincoln nods in approval as Lisa goes to show him the throwing stars. "Lastly we have your throwing stars, which I made multiple adjustments." Lisa says as she pulls out one set. "This set are programed with listening devices. So just stick them into a surface and you'll be able to hear anything in the area." She tells Lincoln as she grabs another set. "This set have low charge explosives like the explosive gel, only difference is that they explode on immediate contact." Lisa explains before adding, "And the rest of the throwing stars are regular throwing star." "These modifications are definitely going to come in handy." Lincoln says.
Lisa then walked Lincoln over to the display case and Lincoln was blown away by what he saw inside it. It was a candy red suit, with yellow cuff links at the arm and a yellow utility belt. It also had black with blue highlights gloves and boots, there was also a blue cape and lastly a black mask, with white soleless eyeholes that covered half of the mannequin, and lastly a black spade with a red A on the chest of the suit. "I look through your notebook and happen to like the design. It's completely made out of carbon polymer." Lisa informs Lincoln. "It's amazing Lisa, I'm impressed." Lincoln says gratefully. "Shaw, no problem Lincoln. It was your design that gave me so much to work with." Lisa says before adding, "Your grappling gun is already attached to your utility belt. The stunner, throwing stars and smoke pellets go in the pouches of the belt and lastly your staff and Nun-chucks can be clipped to the back and left side of your belt." Lisa explains. Lincoln nods as he takes the suit out of the case and proceeds to put it on.
[Insert suit up scene from The Batman: 2004]
After two minutes Lincoln was fully suited up and had all his gear ready to go. "Oh, and Lincoln I have one more thing I want to show you." Lisa says as the two go near the end of the bunker to see something covered by a white sheet. Lincoln is confused until Lisa pulls of the cover, revealing a red and blue motorcycle. And Lincoln looks at it in awe. "Lisa, have I ever told you that you're my favorite sister." Lincoln says as he couldn't take his eyes of the bike. "No, but thanks for the complement." Lisa chuckled. "Now then, it's five o'clock, both mother and father get home eight thirty. That gives you plenty of time to quote 'patrol' the city. If you ride you motor vehicle out this way the tunnel will lead you to the streets." Lisa explains. "Roger that, well then I'm off." Lincoln said as he gets on the bike and begins to rev it up. But before he took off Lisa had one last thing to say. "Now Lincon, I designed all of this to make sure you come back safely, so please do. I do not want to explain to our family that I had a chance to stop you from doing this but choose to aid you instead." Lisa tells him. Lincoln nods before riding away while Lisa looks on in concern.
While riding on his brand-new motorcycle Lincoln went up a ramp that; like Lisa said, lead him to the street. He then began riding around looking for any sort of crime to fight, but after twenty minutes of searching he found nothing. "Hmm, looks like a slow day for crime." Lincoln says to himself. But then he just so happens to hear a "Help!" Yelled in the distance. "Looks like I spoke too soon." Lincoln says as he begins to ride to where he had heard the cry. It then led him to a back alley where two men who looked mid 30's trying to rob a woman who was either late 20's or early 30's.
Acting quickly, Lincoln drove his motorcycle between the two men and the woman. Both the men and the woman were confused as to where did Lincoln come from and why he was wearing his costume. "Can someone explain to me why two guys are trying to rob one lonely woman, seems kind of weak to me." Lincoln said as he got off his motorcycle. "What you say punk?" One of the men said. "You better stay out of this if you know what's good for you." The second man threatened. "Why don't you make me." Lincoln shot back with a smirk as he got into a fighting stance.
"Fine then kid. We'll just have to show you not to mess with us." The man on the left said as he charges at Lincoln. He tries to hit Lincoln with a big right hook, but Lincoln side stepped out of the way. The man then tried to hit Lincoln with a left jab, but Lincoln easily blocked the attack. This allowed Lincoln to counterattack. He fired a jab straight into the man's side causing him to stagger. Lincoln followed it up by an uppercut to the man's face and then grabbing him by the arm and throwing him into the wall, knocking him unconscious.
The man's partner was shocked. He couldn't believe a kid just beat up a grown man. "Alright no more playing around kid." The second man said as he pulled a gun, however Lincoln was quicker as he threw a throwing star at the man's gun, knocking it out of his hand. Lincoln then ran up to the man and threw his elbow into the man's stomach before flipping him over his head, taking him down. After that Lincoln looked back over to the woman. "Are you alright miss?" Lincoln asks with a concern tone. "Y-Yes. Thank you for saving me." She says gratefully. "You're welcome." Lincoln said as he gets on his motorcycle. He was about to ride off when the woman stopped him. "Who are you?" She asked. Lincoln smirked as he replied, "The name's Ace Savvy." As he then rides off.
Few moments later Lincoln heard Lisa's voice through a radio link. "Savvy huh?" Lisa questions. "I think it has a nice ring to it." Lincoln replied.
An hour had passed, Lincoln stopped another mugging or two, but he had yet stopped anything substantial. But that was about to change. "Lincoln, I think I see something that might require your attention." Lisa tells him. "What is it?" Lincoln asks. "The alarm inside the credit bank on eight street has been triggered." Lisa informs him. "Okay I'm on my way." Lincoln says.
He quickly changes direction and speeds over to the credit bank. After five minutes he got to the bank where he found the entrance forced opened. "Hmp, talk about a lack of subtlety." Lincoln says to himself. Lincoln carefully walks inside where he sees multiple security guards and bank staff members on the ground. Lincoln checks on them and thankfully they are just unconscious. After that, Lincoln carefully made his way over to the vault, where he sees a tall muscular man stuffing money into a sack. "Stop right there!" Lincoln shouted at the man at the vault's entrance. The man turns to see Lincoln and he was very unimpressed. "You're just a child. Ha, you really think you can stop me?" The man says. "Actually yes, I do." Lincoln confidently says as he throws a pair of throwing stars at the sack in the man's hand, tearing it open. "Ah, you're going to pay for that kid." The man angrily says as he charges at Lincoln.
He began throwing wild hooks at Lincoln who narrowly avoided. Lincoln countered with a few shots to man side but that wasn't enough to stagger him. The man then tried to smash Lincoln with a double axe handle, but Lincoln barrel rolled out of the way. However just as he did the big man grabbed Lincoln by his cape and hoisted the young boy over his head. But before he could throw Lincoln, he took out his grappling gun and used it to not only escape the man's grasp but to also propel himself upward towards the celling. And on his way back down he kicks the man with a kick right to his face, knocking on his back. However, the man still had some fight left as he got back up to his feet, so Lincoln took out his Bo staff as he attacks the man's knees, knocking him back down, then whacking him against the back of his head rendering him unconscious.
"Phew, that was close. Lisa, I'm done here." He tells her over the radio link. "Copy that brother. The police are on their way, so it's best if evacuate the premises." Lisa informs him. "On it." Lincoln replied as he goes to exit the bank, just before the police arrive.
"Alright Lisa, what's next?" Lincoln asks. "Sorry brother but that's all for tonight." Lisa tells him. "What? Why?" Lincoln asks. "It is seven forty five PM. So, if you don't hurry back soon our parental units will know of your absence." Lisa reminds him. "Alright. I'm coming home now." Lincoln reluctantly says with a sigh.
A couple minutes later and we see Lincoln entering the bunker where Lisa was waiting on him. "Good, your back. Any later and both mother and father would have beaten you here." Lisa says with slight humor in her tone. "Good thing this bike is built for speed. Anyway, tonight was a good first night." Lincoln comments. "Indeed. But we'll have to work on a few things." Lisa replied. "But first, we need to get ready for dinner. It's spaghetti and meatballs tonight." Lisa tells Lincoln as she goes to exit the bunker. Lincoln does the same, but just before he enters the house he looks towards the reader and says, "A lot has happened lately, and I don't know what might come next, but I'm ready for anything." As he then heads inside.
A/N: And that's it for chapter 1. Not only is this longer than the original chapter one but I feel like it has more depth. Now then, what challenges will Lincoln face next? And what potential threats he might face? Find out in chapter two.
Side Note: And this is a reminder that Lincoln won't be the only superhero in this universe. I am making other superhero stories that will coexist alongside this story. So please stay tune for those, cause it is leading somewhere.
