Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 4 of Someone Like You. Thank you to those who have reviewed this story. It does mean a lot to me that you guys are enjoying this. I hope that you guys will continue to enjoy this story. Finally Rose will be meeting our favorite swashbuckling pirate, Jack Sparrow. I'm so excited about this part. Hopefully this time the meeting between the two of them will go better than it did in the last few rewrites. I have my fingers crossed. Please keep in mind she won't be dating Jack. Hopefully, this chapter ends up turning out a lot better than I think it will. Without further ado Chapter 4. Enjoy.
Chapter 4
Rose, now fully dressed in proper attire for her status, stood with her father, James, and Gillette around a huge map of the Caribbean, draping over the desk and chair. Murtogg and Mullroy stood behind them. Her hands clasped in front of her rather nervous about what they were going to do. She could only hope that she would be able to have her sister back in her life and not end her life with the pirates.
Will burst into the room, still armed with a sword and boarding ax. "They've taken her! They've taken Elizabeth!"
They looked up at him.
Rose's brow raised a little, she had already alerted everyone that Elizabeth had been taken. Now, why was Will here? Did he see Elizabeth? Was he able to do the one thing that she couldn't do? It made her heart clench in her chest in a way that she didn't like. She knew that the young Blacksmith was showing that he cared deeply for Elizabeth. Perhaps the two of them still had a chance of making it through and finally admitting to one another about their relationship.
"Mr. Murtogg, remove this man," James said as he didn't look up from the map. He wasn't about to have a man that wasn't a military man trying to help save Elizabeth. He wasn't about to risk someone getting hurt.
Murtogg grabs Will by the arm, but Will shakes it off.
"We have to hunt them down! We must save her!" Will shouted as he moved closer to the table.
Rose swallowed the lump in her throat as her father wrapped his arm around her.
"And where do you propose we start? If you have any information concerning my daughter, please - share it." Governor Swann said, looking over at Will with narrowed eyes. He rubbed his eldest daughter's back soothingly knowing that she was still rather upset with what had happened. He knew that this was having a bad effect on her mind. He knew that she thought that she failed by being the protector of her sister and not only that, she had failed her father even more by asking about James's proposal to Elizabeth and seeing that James cared for her.
Murtogg thought for a moment remembering something. "That Jack Sparrow ... he talked about the Black Pearl."
"Mentioned it, is more what he did," Mullroy said, nodding his head.
Rose bit her lip. If Jack knew about the Black Pearl perhaps he could find it and maybe save Elizabeth from a fate of death. But she knew that what she was thinking probably wasn't a good idea since he was a pirate and it would be bad if she helped free Jack from the cell that he was in. It would look bad on her father if she did something that was not proper.
"Ask him where it is! Make a deal with him! He can lead us to it!" Will exclaimed, trying to get them to agree to this. He wanted to save Elizabeth from the torture of the pirates that had taken her.
"No. The pirates who invaded this fort left Sparrow locked in his cell. Ergo, they are not his allies. Governor, we will establish their most likely course…" James said, shooting down the idea of going and asking a condemned pirate who had threatened Rose. He wasn't about to have Rose threatened by that pirate once again. He was going to make sure that she was safe and he was going to keep to the promise he had made the night before to protect her and bring Elizabeth back.
Will suddenly slammed his boarding ax into the desk through the map causing Rose to jump. "That's not good enough!" Will snarled, not happy that James wasn't willing to help with saving Elizabeth.
James yanked the ax from the desk as he came around it. "Mr. Turner, you are not a military man, you are not a sailor. You are a blacksmith. This is not the moment for rash actions." He threw a strong arm across Will's shoulders, moving him towards the door. He paused for a moment and leaned close to Will. "Do not make the mistake of thinking you are the only man here who cares for Elizabeth." He looked at Will with a simple stare and then shoved the ax at Will.
Will looked down knowing that there was no way that he was going to get help. He turned and left the room knowing that perhaps there was only one person that would be able to help him get Elizabeth back home safely.
Rose slowly moved away and went to the door. "I'm… I'm going to go get air." She said as she picked up the skirts of her dress quickly before following after Will. "Will…" She called out as she rushed after him.
Will quickly turned around to see Rose there. "Rose… what are you…"
"I know what you're doing." She said softly, keeping her voice reasonably low. "You're going to talk to Captain Sparrow, are you not?" She didn't like the idea that Will was going to so willingly talk to a pirate that not only had saved Elizabeth's life but had also threatened her own when he had been captured the first time around.
Will swallowed the lump in his throat.
"You're doing this to save Elizabeth are you not?" Rose questioned softly, knowing he was thinking of saving Elizabeth and bringing her back home. She knew that his care probably ran a lot deeper than what she thought it was.
Will nodded his head looking up at her. "Yes." He admitted softly knowing that Rose would want to know the truth. He wasn't about to start lying to her about helping Elizabeth knowing that the older Swann sibling probably knew how he felt about her sister.
"I want to help." She said softly gripping her hands at her sides knowing that Will probably wouldn't be so willing to have her help.
"Forgive me, Miss Swann, but…"
"Don't say it. Just because I'm a woman doesn't mean I can't do what you can do… I want to save my sister…" Rose snapped as she crossed her arms to look at Will. She wasn't about to have Will decide on what she was going to do. She wanted to save her sister. So why stop when she could help where she could.
Will let out a breath before nodding his head knowing that there was no way to talk Rose out of doing what she wanted to do. "Alright." He said softly rubbing his mouth.
CBPCBP
Will opened the door slowly and allowed Rose to go first.
The two of them walked down the stairs towards the cells in the prison.
Rose bit her lip softly as she pushed some of her curls out of her sight. Her brows furrowed as she looked at the disarray of the prison. She knew that the attack wasn't a good sign of how terrible it was. Rubble everywhere from the blasts of cannons the night before.
Will looked at Jack who was sitting in a relaxed, lounging pose. "You, Sparrow!"
"Aye," Jack said slowly looking up.
"You are familiar with that ship? The Black Pearl?" Will questioned narrowing his eyes at the pirate hoping that he would be able to give a proper answer. Something that was going to be rather helpful for him to save Elizabeth.
"I've heard of it."
"Where does it make berth?"
Rose nervously shifted on her feet. She wondered if Jack would be able to help out with trying to find her sister. She needed to find her little sister and bring her back home to their father. Her heart raced in her chest knowing that this probably would be trouble.
"Where does it make berth? Have you not heard the stories? Captain Barbossa and his crew of miscreants sail from the dreaded Isla de Muerta... it's an island that cannot be found - except by those who already know where it is."
"The ship's real enough. Therefore its anchorage must be a real place. Where is it?"
"Why ask me?" Jack questioned laying back and nonchalantly studying his nails.
"Because you're a pirate."
"And you want to turn pirate yourself, is that it? And your bonnie lass?"
"Never! They took Miss Swann." Will said looking away knowing that it probably wasn't the smartest idea to tell Jack the truth about who had been taken.
"Who is my little sister," Rose said as she looked at Jack, her blue eyes narrowed. She wasn't about to have him get under her skin. She didn't want to become a pirate. All she wanted to do was save her sister.
"Oh, so it is that you've found a girl. I see. Well, if you're intending to brave all, hasten to her rescue and so win fair lady's heart, you'll have to do it alone, mate. I see no profit in it for me."
"I can get you out of here."
"Will you certain…"
"How's that? The key's run off."
"I helped build these cells. These are half pin-barrel hinges. " He picked up a bench and placed it at the bottom of the cell door. "With the right leverage and the proper application of strength, the door will lift free."
Jack looked closely and suspiciously at Will and Rose. "What's your name?"
"Will Turner."
Jack sat up looking at Will. He nodded his head. "That will be short for William, I imagine. Good, strong name. No doubt named for your father, eh?"
"Yes."
Jack got up to his feet. "Ah hah. Well, Mr. Turner, I've changed my mind. If you spring me
from this cell, I swear on pain of death, I shall take you to the Black Pearl and your bonny lass." He stuck his hand out. "Do we have an accord?"
Rose looked at Will. "I'm going to go… see if they made any headway in trying to save Elizabeth." She said softly as she turned on her heels before walking up the stairs to leave the prison.
Will looked at him suspiciously as Jack kept his hand out, still smiling. Will let out a breath shaking his hand. "Agreed."
"Agreed! Get me out."
Rose took a soft breath when she heard the loud noise of something being lifted and falling. Her brows furrowed together in worry.
"Hurry, someone must've heard that."
"Not without my effects," Jack said as he quickly found his effects. He strapped on his belt and checked his pistol.
"Why bother with that? You could have escaped if you killed me, but you weren't willing to use it."
"Are you advising me that was a mistake?" He leveled the pistol at Will.
Will gazed at him unafraid of what Jack was doing.
"When you've only got one shot, it's best to wait for the opportune moment. That wasn't it." Jack then suddenly grinned, lowering his gun. "Nor is this."
Rose shook her head as she quickly finished walking up the stairs. No one would be able to hold it against her. She wasn't there when Jack was freed meaning that it was all on Will this time. She walked back into the room that she had left where James and her father still were going over plans of trying to get Elizabeth back. She chewed the inside of her cheek wondering what choice she was going to have to make. Was she going to go with Jack and Will, or would she end up staying behind with her father and James to go and save Elizabeth?
Rose bit her lower lip softly as she listened to the men discuss what they needed to do, but she had a sinking feeling inside of her chest that something bad was going to happen. She looked back towards the door that she came through knowing that she was going to be making a critical choice. She knew that she didn't have much of a choice in what she was about to do, but saving Elizabeth mattered to her and it didn't matter what she had to go through to save her. She was going to go after Will and Jack and join them, even though her heart wasn't going to be in the right place. But she knew that it was the right thing to do.
She could only hope deep inside of her heart, that her father and James would forgive her for what she was about to do.

This is the end of Chapter 4. I hope that you guys enjoyed it. I'm trying my best with this rewrite without changing too much to the story… but I think that I've ended up changing the story a bit more than what I had planned, I think that it was probably the only way to make sure that the chapter was a bit longer and a bit better than what it was before. Hopefully, you all understand that. I'm just trying my best with trying to make Rose a stronger character. Hopefully, you guys are enjoying Rose and how I'm making her grow through the story. I hope that I haven't failed with writing this chapter or writing Rose in general. I am trying to make the chapters as long as I can without going too overboard with the whole thing. Please leave a review and let me know what you think. I'm going to try my best to update this as often as I can but there might be some weeks that I won't be able to post at all if there is no chapter to post. Until next time.
