GUYS! What started as a one chapter interlude turned into another 5 chapter ARC! HOW DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING?
I've got all 5 parts outlined, it's just a matter of typing them up. I'm MOST EXCITED about parts 4 & 5 (Plan X & So Easy, a Gecko Could Do It). Some of them may be shorter than we're all used to, but it's the best way to break them up. I'll probably post some of the smaller chapters on the same day. With all of these extra chapters developing, we're DEFINITELY hitting 50 chapters with this story!
Hope y'all enjoy Miss Me Yet!

Karai quietly shut the door to her room after having snuck back into the Foot compound. As she changed out of her armor into her favorite sweatpants, the girl mentally ran through her route back to her room. I don't think anyone saw me come back in, but who was spying on Leo and me? Karai smiled to herself. She still didn't understand why she gave the turtle the number to the burner phone she kept secret from her father. Less than an hour of interaction and he was already under her skin.
There was a knock at her door as she finished wiping away her elaborate eye makeup.
"Who is it?" She growled.
"Tiger Claw. May I come in?"
"I guess..." Karai quickly scrubbed away any traces of makeup before diving onto her bed, attempting to look natural reading a teen magazine - her guilty pleasure. The door opened to reveal the massive tiger mutant, still wearing his gear. "What do you want?"
Tiger Claw closed the door before settling on a foot locker by the foot of the bed. "I wanted to see how the rest of your evening was after our… chat."
Karai shrugged, flipping a page. "Not bad. I've been here all night." She raised her eyes at the low growl coming from Tiger Claw. "What?"
"Are you certain about that?"
Karai began to sweat, but knew she needed to keep her cool. She rolled her eyes. "Of course! Why would I lie about that?"
The mutant narrowed his eyes. "Perhaps to see a certain friend?" He noticed the girl's sharp intake of air. "I was the one you sensed spying on the two of you. Your father requested that I familiarize myself with the city, as well as seeing if there were any traces of the turtles or their master. I tracked down the one who appears to be their leader, the one garbed in blue. Before I confronted him, you attacked him from the shadows… and then began talking with him." Tiger Claw sighed. "I assume that you do not have many friends your own age, cub. I am happy that you've made a connection, but you cannot protect him forever. Eventually, you will have to make a choice between him or your father."
Karai swallowed thickly. She turned another page in her magazine. "I don't know what you're talking about. He's just… a mutant…" Even as she said them, Karai knew those words were false.
Tiger Claw patted her leg with a knowing smile. "Well, this mutant would like to see what skills you possess. Would you have an hour or two to spar with an old cat tomorrow?"
The girl snorted. "I won't go easy on you just because you're missing your tail."
"I would be disappointed with you if you did." He turned around before opening the door. "Goodnight, Karai."
"Night, TC."
As the door clicked shut once more, Karai flopped backwards into her mass of pillows. What's his angle? She pondered. Is he just trying to trip me up somehow? He seemed legit when he told me about his sister… But know he knows about me and Leo…
"No! There's nothing between me and that turtle!" She dared speak aloud. Karai lifted her head as her secret phone buzzed from it's hidey hole. She giggled at the message from an unknown number that could only be one person.
HIM: You miss me yet?
Karai bit her lip before sending her reply.
ME: Maybe...
