Oliver woke up in the morning and looked over at the empty side of his bed. Maybe it wasn't a good idea for him and Felicity to be in a relationship. He wasn't the same person he used to be before the island and he wouldn't be able to handle it if something happened to Felicity and he was responsible either directly or indirectly. He made her leave the house last night telling her they couldn't be together. He was too dangerous. After about an hour of pleading with him she finally left. Oliver got dressed and walked over to his bed. He pulled the suitcase he had out from under it. He put in the combination on the lock and it unlocked. He opened it and pulled back the blanket revealing a small book underneath. He took the book out and placed it on the floor. He took out a Hozen and looked at it. Just then there was a knock on his door. "Just a minute" he called out closing the suitcase and putting it under the bed. He put the book and the Hozen in his back jeans pockets.
"Come in" he called.
Raisa opened the door. "Miss Felicity is here to see you" she said as Felicity walked in. She smiled at the housekeeper who she always liked.
"Thank you Raisa" Felicity said. Raisa nodded and left the room. Oliver didn't look at Felicity. He couldn't after what he had done to her the previous night.
Felicity walked up to him. "We have to talk" she said.
"You shouldn't be here" he said still not looking at her.
"That's not really your decision to make" Felicity said. Oliver still didn't look at her. Felicity grabbed his face and turned it to look at her.
Oliver looked at Felicity sadly. "I hurt you" he said pulling away from her. The last thing he ever wanted to do was hurt Felicity. With everything he went through on the island, if something happened to her that would be the worst pain he could ever go through.
"I'm fine Oliver. Really. It was an accident" she said.
Oliver walked away from her. "Don't do that" he said.
"Don't do what" Felicity asked.
"Act like what happened last night wasn't that bad and make excuses for me. I HURT YOU" Oliver yelled out.
"I'm not making excuses. I'm fine" she said.
Oliver just stood there and shook his head. He couldn't be with Felicity not anymore. "I'm not the same person I was before. I've changed" he said.
"So have I. I am the CEO of one of the biggest companies in all of Starling city. I lost the love of my life five years ago when his yacht went down. I also lost…" Felicity started to say but stopped herself. Oliver looked at her curiously. Felicity shook her head. "The point is I'm a different person now too but there is one thing that hasn't changed and that is that you are still the love of my life" Felicity said walking up to Oliver and hugging him.
"I'm dangerous. It's not safe to be around me" he said.
Felicity looked up at him and kissed him. "There's no place safer than when I'm with you and no one I trust more" Felicity said hugging him again.
At Tommy and Laurel's apartment, Tommy walked in with the mail. He looked through the mail and saw a package in his name from Metropolis. He put the rest of the mail on the kitchen table and opened the package. He smiled when he saw what it was. "Sweet" he said.
"Dadda" he heard his daughter call out from behind him. She ran up to him and hugged his legs. He smiled, put the package down on the table with the rest of the mail and picked his daughter up.
"Hi Bec's. Where are your clothes" he asked.
"Momma" Rebecca said pointing to the door as Laurel came running out holding clothes.
"Rebecca Olivia Merlyn, you can't go running around the house naked. Daddy can't save you. We have to get you ready for Grandma and Grandpa" Laurel said.
"Nana and Poppa" Rebecca said as Tommy handed their daughter to Laurel.
Laurel gave him a quick kiss and carried Rebecca to the couch. "Anything good in the mail" Laurel asked.
"My package finally came" Tommy said.
"You mean the picture your friend Jimmy took of… what was his name again" Laurel asked.
"Superman and yes it's the first photo Jimmy took which he promised he would send me a copy of. He even had it framed see" Tommy said holding up the picture.
Laurel turned around to see it. She squinted her eyes. "I don't see anything" she said.
Tommy pointed on the photo. "He's right there flying. See" he said pointing to a red and blue blur in the photo.
Laurel nodded her head. "Now I see him" she said going back to getting Rebecca dressed.
Tommy walked into the living room. "He's so cool the way he fly's around and saves the day. He's like a real life superhero" Tommy said.
"Looks like daddy has a little crush" Laurel said tickling their daughter. She laughed.
Tommy shook his head. "I just think the world would be a better place if more people were like Superman. He would have stopped that hooded man who attacked the club last night " he said.
"Luckily me Sara and Felicity are all fine. We didn't need some alien to come save us" Laurel said.
"You should all be careful. I don't want to lose my wife or my sister in laws" Tommy said.
"Don't worry my dad will catch this hooded man and then I will bring him to justice" Laurel said.
"I hope so. The last thing this city needs is some vigilante running around murdering people. I heard Gotham has a vigilante problem too. Metropolis doesn't have this problem because it has Superman to protect it. We could use our own Superman here" Tommy said.
Laurel shook her head. "I prefer to deal with criminals the regular way without some alien in tights going around the city punching the bad guys. Our system works just as it is" she said.
"What else did we get in the mail" Laurel asked.
Tommy walked over to the table and put his photo down on it. He picked up the rest of the mail. "Bills, you have something from your job and I got…" Tommy started to say but stopped when he looked at the piece of mail in his hand. He sighed and ripped up the letter.
Laurel finished getting Rebecca ready. "Go play in your room for a little while. I'll come get you when I'm ready to leave" Laurel said to her daughter. Rebecca nodded her head and Laurel kissed her forehead as she ran into her room to play. Laurel walked up to Tommy. "Another letter from your father" she asked taking the ripped letter from his hands. She saw the Merlyn Global sign on the envelope.
"He won't stop. I've already made it clear to the man I want nothing to do with him" Tommy said.
"Maybe you should talk to him to see what he wants. He could want to make things right with you and meet his granddaughter" Laurel said.
"No that's never happening. My father is a manipulative and abusive man. He's not getting anywhere near Rebecca" Tommy said frustrated.
Laurel wrapped her arms around Tommy. "Ok I'm sorry. I was just trying to help" she said.
Tommy smiled at her and kissed her. "I know but nothing good comes from having any sort of contact with my father. Look at my mother" he said.
Laurel nodded her head. "Well I support whatever decision you make" she said.
He kissed her again. "You really are the best wife" Tommy said.
Laurel nodded. "I know" she said. "So are you and Oliver doing anything special today" Laurel asked picking up the mail and looking through it.
Tommy shook his head. "I'm just going to take him around the city. Show him how it's changed in the last five years" he said.
"Bring him around the office. I haven't gotten the chance to see him yet" Laurel said.
"I will" Tommy said.
He looked down at his watch. "I should get going" he said. He gave Laurel a kiss goodbye and said bye to their daughter. He put on his leather jacket zipped it up and left the apartment.
At the Queen mansion, Felicity had left to go to work. She had a business to run and that was important. Oliver wanted to believe she was right that they could give their relationship a try but he didn't know. He didn't want Felicity to get hurt because of him. He would never forgive himself if that happened. He would have to deal with that later. He walked down the hall to Thea's room. He knocked on her door and opened it. "Ollie" Thea said.
Oliver shook his head. "Nobody's called me that in a while Speedy" he said walking in to the room.
Thea sighed. "Worst nickname ever" she said.
"What always chasing after me as a kid? I thought it worked pretty well. Maybe it still does" Oliver said.
"See you at school Speedy" Thea's friend said to her and left the room. "
Sorry about her" Thea said.
"I have something for you" Oliver said taking the hozen out of his pocket and holding it up.
"You did not come back from a deserted island with a souvenir" Thea said.
"It's a hozen and in Buddhism it symbolizes reconnecting. I kept it in hopes that one day it would reconnect me with you" Oliver said handing Thea the hozen. Thea smiled and held it close to her heart.
"A rock. That is sweet. You know I want one of those shirts that says I was a castaway and all I got was this crappy shirt" Tommy said walking up to Oliver and Thea.
Thea smiled at Oliver. "Don't let him get you into too much trouble. You just got back. Take it slow" Thea said. Oliver kissed Thea on the cheek and they hugged each other.
"The city awaits" Tommy said. Oliver walked out of the room. Tommy nodded at Thea and followed him out of the room. Once they were in the hallway Tommy turned to Oliver.
"I can't believe how much Thea's grown up" Tommy said.
Oliver nodded. "I know. I missed a lot" he said.
"We have to stop by Laurel's office later. She wants to see you" Tommy said.
Oliver smiled at him. "It'll be nice to see her again" he said.
Tommy was driving around the city with Oliver in the passenger seat. "Your funeral blew" Tommy said.
"Why" Oliver asked turning to Tommy.
"Well I had to say goodbye to my best friend and me and Laurel weren't really in the best place at that time" Tommy said. "By the way we are throwing you a welcome home bash" Tommy said.
"You're throwing me a what" Oliver asked looking at him confused.
"You came back from the dead. This calls for a party. You tell me where and when, I'll take care of everything" Tommy said. Oliver smiled and shook his head. Tommy continued to drive through the city. He stopped at a red light and saw a bunch of homeless people across the street. "This city's gone to crap. You know your dad sold his factory just in time" Tommy said as Oliver looked out the window. "Hey why'd you want to drive through this neighborhood anyway" Tommy asked.
Oliver saw the old Queen industry factory. "No reason" Oliver lied.
"So what'd you miss the most" Tommy asked.
"Felicity" Oliver said.
Oliver and Tommy arrived at Laurel's office. They waited for Laurel to come over. She walked up with her coworker Joanna. They were talking then Joanna walked away. "Laurel" Tommy called. Laurel looked over and smiled at him. She walked up to him and kissed him. She looked behind him and saw Oliver standing there.
"Hello Laurel" Oliver said. They just stood there for a moment before Laurel hugged him.
"Welcome back. It's so good to see that your alive" she said.
"It's good to be back" Oliver said.
"Felicity's so happy to have you back" Laurel said.
Oliver nodded. "I'm happy to be back in Felicity's life too" he said.
"We should all go out for lunch" Laurel said grabbing her purse off her desk.
"Right now? Aren't you working" Tommy asked.
She nodded. "I can take an early lunch break" she said. She turned to Joanna. "If anyone asks tell them I took an early lunch" she said.
"OK" Joanna said.
Oliver Laurel and Tommy were all sitting in a restaurant. "So you're a lawyer now. That's so great. You always said you would become one" Oliver said.
"Yea everyone's proud" Laurel said.
Tommy smiled at her. "You bet we are" he said. Laurel smiled back at him. Oliver looked at his two friends happy they found a way to make their relationship work. He didn't know if him and Felicity would be that lucky.
"Adam Hunt's a heavy hitter. You sure you want to get in the ring with him" Oliver said. Laurel looked at him confused. "I saw the file on your desk" Oliver said answering the unasked question.
"This is what I do Oliver. I take down scumbags like him" Laurel said.
Tommy shook his head. "Oliver's right. Adam Hunt is a dangerous man. You have to be careful. I don't want what happened to Felicity to happen to you" he said.
Oliver turned to Tommy. "What happened to Felicity" he asked seriously.
"A couple months ago someone put out a hit on Felicity. They almost killed her. They got really close. That's why she has a bodyguard now" Tommy said. Oliver sat there processing that information.
After they were done with lunch Oliver Laurel and Tommy walked back to Tommy's car. "So when is it" Tommy asked.
Oliver looked at him confused. "When is what" Oliver asked.
"Come on man you know. You were going to propose to her before you got on that yacht. When can we expect the wedding, I got my best man speech ready" Tommy asked.
Oliver laughed nervously and shook his head. "Me and Felicity have a lot to figure out. A lot has changed" Oliver said.
"Is everything OK between you two" Laurel asked.
Oliver thought for a moment. "Honestly I don't know" he said.
Before he could explain further a van pulled up behind the three of them. "What the hell" Tommy asked. Two masked men came out from behind Oliver Laurel and Tommy. One of them pointed they pointed their guns at Tommy and Laurel and shot them both. They fell to the floor unconscious. One of the men shot Oliver. Oliver pulled the tranq dart out of his neck and started to feel the effects of the tranq and fell to his knees grabbing on to Tommy's car for support. Another masked man came out holding a rifle.
A man came out of the building to take out the trash. "Hey" the man yelled. The man with the rifle shot the man who was taking out the garbage. Oliver watched as the man fell to the floor dead. The man with the rifle turned back to Oliver and started to walk to him while Oliver looked at him. The tranq started to affect him more and he let go of the car and fell to the floor. He looked over at Tommy and Laurel who were both unconscious. One of the men was lifting Laurel up while another placed a hood over Tommy's head and lift him into a fireman's lift. Oliver watched as both Laurel and Tommy were both thrown in the back of the van their hands zipped tied behind them. Oliver looked up at the man with the rifle and his vision started to blur. Oliver could feel himself losing consciousness as a man behind him placed a hood over his head. Once Oliver was unconscious one of the men lifted him up and threw him into the van with Laurel and Tommy.
"Search them" one of the men said. The men did as they were told and took their phones and wallets off them. One of the men took Oliver's coat off him and searched it.
"He doesn't have anything special on him" one of the men said.
"We have a job to do. Let's go" he said closing the back of the van and getting in the driver's seat. They drove off taking their prisoners with them. Oliver Queen had answers and they were going to get them from him.
Felicity sat in her office looking through old photos of her and Oliver she had on her computer. She sighed. He was back but he felt really distant from her which was understandable but she just wished he would talk to her. She never gave up on the hope that he was alive and she would see him again. She knew she had to tell him but she was scared it would just drive him farther away from her than he already was and she didn't think she could handle that. A knock on her door bought her out of her thoughts. "Ms. Lance sorry to bother you but your sister is here" Felicity's assistant Brittany said. Felicity smiled at her warmly.
"That's OK Brittany. Send her in" Felicity said. Brittany walked away while Felicity closed out the window on her computer.
Sara walked into the office. "Hi Felicity" she said.
"Hi Sara" Felicity asked. Sara walked up to Felicity's desk and placed a bag from big belly burger on it.
"We're having lunch together" Sara said.
"So how are you feeling after last night? That was weird wasn't it? The club being attacked like that" Sara said taking a bite out of her burger.
Felicity nodded. "It was definitely weird" she said also taking a bite of her burger.
"Who do you think that guy in the hood was" Sara asked.
Felicity had forgotten all about the guy in the hood. She was more focused on her relationship with Oliver. "I don't know. Honestly I haven't given it much thought" Felicity said.
"At least we're all safe" Sara said. Felicity contemplated whether she should tell Sara about what happened with Oliver the previous night. She needed to talk to someone about it. Finally she decided to just tell her. This is what sisters were for after all.
"I went to see Oliver last night" she said.
Sara nodded. "I know you had dinner with him last night" Sara said.
Felicity shook her head. "No after everything happened at the club. Instead of going home I went to see Oliver and we spent the night together" she said.
"How was it? Does he still know what he's doing after five years without sex" Sara asked.
Felicity nodded. "That part was great. Amazing actually it's just after. Something weird happened" Felicity said.
Sara looked at her sadly. "Did he not take the news well" she asked.
Felicity shook her head. "I haven't told him yet" she said.
"Look I know it's a hard conversation to have but you have to tell him" Sara said.
"I know and I will it's just last night wasn't the best time" she said.
"Why not" Sara asked.
Felicity sighed. Here goes nothing. "After we, you know, we fell asleep. I woke up in the middle of the night and he was asleep on the floor across the room with the window open and the rain hitting him" Felicity said.
"Why was he sleeping on the floor" Sara asked.
Felicity shrugged. "I don't know but that's not the weird part. The weird part is when I woke him up I guess he was having flashbacks to being on the island and he thought I was a threat because he attacked me" Felicity said.
"Oh my god are you OK" she asked.
Felicity nodded. "Yea I'm fine. It was just a shock" she said.
Sara put down her burger and looked at her sister seriously. "Felicity I know you're not going to want to hear this but maybe you should stay away from Oliver" she said.
Felicity shook her head. "It was an accident. He didn't mean it" she said.
"You don't know what he went through on that island. He might not be the same Oliver he was before. He might be dangerous now" Sara said.
Felicity looked at Sara with the same seriousness. "For five years all everyone told me was to move on and give up on Oliver. He's dead everyone said. Well now he's back. I didn't give up on him for five years and I'm not about to start now. I don't care what Oliver came back from that island. He loves me and would never intentionally hurt me. Whoever he is now doesn't matter because no matter what I will fight for him" Felicity said.
Sara took Felicity's hand. "Just be careful OK" Sara said. Felicity nodded.
"I will" she said. Sara was still worried for her sister but she knew Felicity well enough to know that she wasn't going to give up on Oliver no matter what anyone said. She knew she would have to watch Oliver and if he hurt Felicity she would kill him.
The masked men arrived at an abandoned warehouse. One of the men grabbed Oliver, lifted him out of the truck and threw him over his shoulder. "What should we do with these two" one of the men asked.
"Take them out of the truck. We'll kill them after we're done with Mr. Queen over here" he said motioning to the unconscious billionaire he was carrying. The two men took Laurel and Tommy's unconscious bodies and threw them on pallets. They took the hoods off of them. The other man sat Oliver's unconscious body into a chair. He zip tied him to that chair. The three men stood there waiting for Oliver to wake up. About a half hour later Oliver woke up and just saw darkness. "Mr. Queen" he heard someone say. The hood was pulled off his head. "Mr. Queen" a masked man yelled in his face. His voice was obviously distorted. The masked man held up a taser and it started sparking. "Did you're father survive that accident" the masked man asked. Oliver looked over and saw Tommy and Laurel laying on pallets. They were unconscious and zip tied. Oliver looked around and saw more masked men standing around. "I ask the questions. You give me the answers" the man said.
Oliver noticed his hands were zip tied behind him. This wouldn't be to hard to escape. The masked man turned around and shrugged at one of the other men. He turned back to Oliver and pressed the taser against Oliver's chest. Oliver yelled out in pain. The men watched Oliver scream out in pain. The man pulled the taser away from Oliver. Oliver breathed raggedly. The man leaned in close to Oliver. "Did he make it to the island? Did he tell you anything" the masked man asked. Oliver didn't answer. The masked man looked at the other men around him. Now he was getting angry. He pressed the taser against Oliver's chest again. This time Oliver fought back the screams. He was trying to get his breathing under control. The men all watched Oliver.
"Yes he did" Oliver finally answered. The masked man nodded and leaned in close again.
"What did he tell you Mr. Queen" the man asked. Oliver just sat there and said nothing. Tommy started to move a little bit. He was waking up.
"He told me I'm going to kill you" Oliver said. The men looked at each other and laughed.
The man leaned in again. "Your delusional. Your zip tied to that chair" the man said.
Oliver bought his hands in front of him. "Not anymore" he said. The man went to punch Oliver in the face but Oliver ducked and picked up the chair. The man wound up punching threw it. Oliver hit the man with the chair and the man fell to the floor. Oliver pulled off one of the chair leges and stabbed a man that was behind him with it. He grabbed the taser from the man and tased him. Then he punched the man. Oliver quickly turned around holding the man he just tasered in front of him as another masked man started shooting. Oliver threw the man away as the other man ran away. Oliver ran to Laurel and checked her pulse then did the same to Tommy. They were both still alive. Good Oliver thought. He chased after the man as Tommy fully woke up. What happened? His head was spinning. The last thing he remembered was being with Oliver and Laurel. He noticed he was laying on his stomach with his hands zip tied behind him.
He looked around he was in a warehouse and there were masked men around him dead. He saw his wife next to him in the same position. "Laurel" he yelled out. He sat up and got onto his feet. "Laurel" he called out but she didn't answer. He started to get worried. What if she was dead? He looked around for Oliver. "Oliver" he called out. Where was Oliver? There was no answer. He had to find help. He ran out of the warehouse looking for someone to help him. Oliver chased the masked man through the warehouse. The man turned around and started shooting at Oliver. Oliver jumped up on a landing and pulled himself up. The masked man ran outside the warehouse. Oliver used the roof to continue chasing after the man. The masked man started shooting at Oliver again but Oliver ducked out of the way and continued after the man. The man ran away again. Oliver jumped off the roof and chased the man into another part of the warehouse. Tommy came around the corner and heard people running. He followed the footsteps he heard.
The masked man threw off his mask and continued running. Oliver got on top of some crates. The man started shooting at him again and Oliver continued to run. He jumped off the crate and grabbed a chain that was hanging and swung around on it. The man ran out of bullets and started to reload. Oliver landed in front of him and grabbed the man around the neck. "You killed that man" Oliver said.
"You don't have to do this" the man said struggling in Oliver's grasp.
"Yes I do. Nobody can know my secret" Oliver said as he snapped the man's neck killing him. He let the man's dead body drop to the floor.
"Oliver" he heard someone call. Oliver turned around and saw his friend standing there. Tommy looked between the Oliver and the man on the floor. Crap Oliver thought. He didn't know how much Tommy saw but he had to find out. If Tommy saw him kill that man than everything he was trying to do for the city would be over before it started.
