The cops were on their way up to Adam Hunt's office. Oliver woke up and felt a huge pain in his chest. He looked down and saw two big knives sticking out of his chest. He pulled them out and rolled over looking at them. At least they didn't hit any major arteries. Oliver looked over and saw Felicity lying unconscious on the floor. "Felicity" he said worriedly crawling over to her. He checked her pulse. He could feel a pulse. Oliver let out a sigh of relief. She was Ok. He looked across the room and the two people who attacked him were gone. Who were they? The cops ran into the room and Oliver pulled up his hood.
"Lay down your weapons or we'll open fire" One of the cops yelled running into the room. Oliver grabbed his bow. "I repeat, lay down your weapons" the cop said.
Quentin came in and saw the hooded man leaning over his daughter. He raised his gun. "Get away from her" he yelled. Oliver quickly shot an arrow at the wall to distract the cops so he could make his escape.
Oliver ran to the window as the cops shot at him. He jumped through the window. All of the cops looked at the window in surprise. Quentin and his partner ran over to the window to see the hooded man ziplining to the building across the street. "Tell me you saw that" Quentin's partner said. Quentin just stared not saying anything. Felicity started to stir. Quentin ran over to his daughter.
"Felicity honey" Quentin said.
Felicity woke up. "Dad" she said noticing her father standing over her.
Quentin pulled her into a big hug. "Thank god your OK" he said. He pulled back from her. "What were you doing here? I thought we agreed you weren't going to meet with Adam Hunt" Quentin said.
"I wasn't but two of his men came to get me. If it weren't for the man in the hood…" Felicity said as she looked around. She got up and started searching the room. "Where is he" she asked.
"Where's who sweetie" Quentin asked.
"The man in the hood" Felicity said.
"He's gone" Quentin said.
At Oliver's party Tommy was sitting at the bar drinking. He couldn't believe Laurel could betray him like this. Laurel walked up to him. "There you are. I've been looking all over for you. Have you seen Sara and Ava? Sara got a phone call and they left me by myself in the bathroom" Laurel asked. Tommy didn't say anything he just continued to drink. Laurel noticed he was upset. "What's wrong" she asked trying to put her arms around him but he pulled away from her. "Tommy seriously what's…" Laurel asked as Tommy put his father's invitation on the bar.
"Care to explain why you have an invitation to some dinner party my father's having" Tommy asked clearly upset.
"I can explain" Laurel said.
"Explain what? Why my wife who I thought was on my side is having secret meetings with my father who you know I can't stand or why you were keeping it secret from me. Is that why you've always suggested me and my father work it out because your working for him" Tommy asked.
"First of all, I am on your side and I'm not having any secret meetings with your father. Secondly, I wasn't keeping it from you. I was going to tell you when we got home. I know how you get about your father and honestly I didn't want to have that conversation here. Also I'm not working for your father" Laurel said.
Tommy held up the invitation. "How did you get it then" he asked.
"Your father stopped me before I walked in here. He invited me you and Rebecca to his dinner party. I told him I'd have to talk to you but I wasn't going to force you to do anything and would support whatever decision you made" Laurel said. Tommy looked at her sadly. How could he accuse her of betraying him? He knew she would never do that. He was just mad and hurt. He was also a little drunk. This is part of the reason he didn't like to drink. He took Laurel's hand.
"I'm sorry. I know you'd never go behind my back like that. I shouldn't have even suggested that" he said.
"It's Ok. I understand why you don't want to have a relationship with your father and honestly I support it. He's not a good man" Laurel said.
Tommy nodded. "Thank you. You're the best wife in the world. I don't tell you that enough" he said kissing her hand. Laurel smiled and sat on Tommy's lap.
"I love you and I'd support whatever you decided to do whether you want to have a relationship with your father or not. No matter what I'll still be by your side because I love you and I'm not going anywhere no matter how our parents feel about us. Your also a pretty great husband as well" Laurel said. Tommy smiled at her and kissed her.
Laurel smiled at him as they pulled back. "You know your looking extra sexy tonight" she said. Tommy raised his eyebrows.
"Really? Well what do you say we go home for the night and we can have some extra sexy sex" Tommy said.
Laurel nodded. "I want to say goodbye to Oliver and Felicity first" she said getting off Tommy's lap.
All of a sudden cops surrounded the place. One of the cops walked up to the DJ and told them to cut the music. They shut off the music. Quentin walked into the room with a bunch of cops and Felicity following behind him. "Search the building. Roof to basement. Find him" Quentin said.
Felicity ran in front of her father. "Dad I already told you the man in the hood didn't do anything to me. If anything he saved my life" she said.
"I saw him crouched over you while you were unconscious. You're a smart girl Felicity. What do you think he was going to do" Quentin said turning his attention to the party goers. "Starling city police. The party's over, kids" he said walking past Felicity. The cops walked through the crowd looking for the man in the hood.
Laurel and Tommy walked up to Felicity and her father. "Dad what are you doing here" she asked. She noticed Felicity's disheveled look. "What happened to you" Laurel asked her sister.
"The man in the hood attacked your sister and was about to do god knows what to her while she was unconscious" Quentin said.
Laurel hugged Felicity. "Oh my god are you OK" she asked.
Felicity nodded. "I'm fine and like I told dad the man in the hood didn't do anything to me. He was trying to save my life just like he did with you Tommy and Oliver" she said.
"Yea sir. That man saved our lives" Tommy said. Quentin glared at Tommy.
"Oh, Mr. Merlyn. Why am I not surprised to find you here with my daughter no less? There's a dangerous man somewhere in this building and your more concerned with partying and getting drunk rather than the safety of my daughter" Quentin said.
"Dad, Tommy didn't know that the man your searching for would end up in this building. Besides Oliver picked this place to have the party" Laurel said.
Quentin looked around. "Speaking of which, where is Mr. Queen" he asked.
"Hey Tommy have you seen Felicity? I can't find her anywhere" Oliver asked walking up to Tommy. Oliver looked over Tommy's shoulder and saw Felicity standing next to Laurel. He looked at her pretending to be shocked. "What happened to you? Are you Ok" he asked as Felicity ran into his arms. He hugged her tightly. Oliver looked up at Quentin and his partner. "Detectives, if you don't mind, this is a private party" he said.
"Yeah well there was an incident at Adam Hunt's building tonight. Do you know anything about that" Quentin asked.
"Who's Adam Hunt" Oliver asked. Felicity Tommy and Laurel all looked at Oliver weirdly. He knew who Adam Hunt was. He was lying to Quentin. But why? Tommy had a suspicion.
"He's a millionaire bottom feeder and I'm kind of surprised you weren't friends" Quentin said.
"I've been out of town for a while" Oliver said. Tommy smiled. Looks like Oliver was back in the same boat as him. Getting shit from Quentin. At least he wasn't by himself anymore.
"Yeah well him and Felicity just got attacked by the guy with a hood. The guy that saved your ass the other day" Quentin said. Oliver looked down at Felicity who was still in his arms.
"He attacked you" Oliver asked surprised knowing full well what happened.
Felicity shook her head and glared at her father. "Like I keep telling my father he didn't attack me. He saved me from Adam Hunt" she said. Oliver nodded and looked back at Quentin.
"Did you find him? I need to offer a reward" Oliver said turning around. "Hey everybody. $2 million to anybody who can find a nutbar in a green hood" he shouted out to the crowd. The crowd cheered. Oliver turned back around to look at Quentin. Quentin stepped toward Oliver.
"Where were you while my daughter was in danger" Quentin asked. Oliver didn't answer.
"Dad this isn't Oliver's fault" Felicity said. Quentin ignored her.
His partner pulled him back. "Ok, partner let's go" he said.
"Do you even care that my daughter was in danger" Quentin asked. Once again Oliver said nothing.
"Dad stop" Felicity said.
"Partner, let's go. It's all right. Let's go" his partner said pulling him back. Oliver looked away from everybody.
"Oliver this wasn't your fault" Felicity said noticing his sad expression. Oliver didn't say anything. All of a sudden Sara and Ava walked up to them.
"Hey guys. What did we miss" Sara asked.
"Where did you guys go? You left me in the bathroom by myself" Laurel asked.
Sara nodded. "I know. Sorry. We had work we had to take care of" she said. Oliver walked up to the stage while Felicity, Tommy, Laurel, Sara and Ava all watched him.
"It's way too quiet in here. This is a party. Yeah" Oliver yelled out to the crowd. The crowd cheered and the DJ turned the music up. Oliver got off the stage as Tommy walked over to him.
"Some coincidence. I mean you asking to have your party here and Hunt getting robbed right next door and by the same guy who rescued us at the warehouse" Tommy said as he took a sip of the coke he just ordered.
"If I were you Tommy, I'd just be glad your alive" Oliver said. Tommy looked at his friend curiously.
"What happened to you on that island" Tommy asked.
"A lot" Oliver said. Tommy watched as Oliver walked up to Felicity. Something was up with Oliver. He wasn't the same person he was before the island. Maybe he was a lot more dangerous than anyone anticipated. "Hi" Oliver said smiling at Felicity who was talking to Sara. Sara looked between Oliver and Felicity.
"I'm going to go" she said. Both Oliver and Felicity nodded as Sara walked away. Oliver hugged Felicity.
"I'm glad you're OK and Adam Hunt didn't hurt you too bad" he said. Felicity pulled away from him.
"Oliver why did you lie to my father" Felicity asked.
Oliver looked at her shocked. "What do you mean" he asked.
"You told him you didn't know who Adam Hunt was but obviously you do. You told me he was dangerous" she said. Oliver let out a small sigh of relief.
"Honestly I didn't want your father too assume I had anything to do with what happened to you. It looks like it didn't work" Oliver said. Felicity put a comforting hand on his arm.
"He didn't mean it. He's happy your back. He's just frustrated and was worried about me" Felicity said.
Oliver nodded. "I hope your right. I'd hate for us to go back to where we were when we first started dating" he said.
Felicity smiled at him. "I always am" she said. Oliver kissed her and they enjoyed the rest of their night together.
The next morning Oliver sat in the lair he created for himself watching as all the money Adam Hunt stole went from his account to the account Oliver had set up. He looked at another screen that showed that all of the money was returning to it's proper place. He rubbed his chest which still hurt from the two knives that were stuck in it. He patched it as best he could. Add those to the scars he has. He took out his father's book and crossed out Adam Hunt's name from it. He looked at the photo of his father. He was going to right the wrongs his father did to this city. He looked at the framed photo he put on the desk of him and Felicity. Last night was too close. That could never happen again. Felicity couldn't end up getting hurt because of this. She meant everything to him. Oliver took out a box from his pocket and opened it. He smiled looking at the ring he was going to put on Felicity's finger someday as his wife. He could do this. Save the city and be with Felicity. He just had to be more careful and make sure she was safe at all costs and she could never find out his secret. Oliver sat back in his seat. Everything was going to be OK.
Later that night Tommy went to go pickup Laurel from work. He had a surprise for her and he couldn't wait for her to see it. He walked into her office and saw Laurel's co worker Joanna sitting at her desk. Joanna smiled at Tommy. "Hello Tommy. Are you here for Laurel" she asked.
Tommy nodded his head. "I'm supposed to be picking her up" he said.
Joanna nodded. "Wait here. I'll get her" she said walking away. Tommy stood there waiting.
"Hello hot stuff" one of Laurel's other co workers, Samantha, who didn't like Laurel said to Tommy. She always tried to flirt with him. The old Tommy would have jumped at the opportunity to sleep with her but he was a happily married man. He had no interest in any woman besides Laurel. He rolled his eyes and turned around.
"Hello Samantha" Tommy said. She stepped closer to Tommy.
"I'm having a small get together with people from the firm and their partners. You should come" Samantha said.
Tommy put on a fake smile. "I'll have to ask Laurel" he said.
"You misunderstand I don't want Laurel there. Just you" Samantha said. She leaned in close to Tommy's ear. "I'll put on my sexiest dress" she whispered to him. Tommy pulled her away from him.
"Listen I am a happily married man and have no interest in anybody who is not my wife so why don't you find someone who is interested because I promise you I am not" Tommy said a little too loudly. People were looking at them.
"Don't worry. I can wait until you get bored with Laurel and when you do there's my number" Samantha said placing a card in Tommy's coat pocket.
Tommy took it out of his pocket and ripped it up without looking at it. "I won't be needing that" he said throwing it at her.
"You'll come to your senses someday" Samantha said squeezing Tommy's ass then walking away. Tommy shook his head. That woman was crazy. He turned around and saw Laurel standing there.
"Laurel I was just…" Tommy started to say but Laurel walked up to him kissing him.
"What was that for" Tommy asked.
"I heard everything and thank you. Samantha has hated me ever since I started here and she started hating me more once she found out we were married. I think she always had this weird fantasy she would marry you" Laurel said.
Tommy smiled at her and kissed her again. "She doesn't have a chance. Like I told her I'm a happily married man and have no intention of ruining that" he said. Laurel smiled at him.
"We should get going" Tommy said starting to walk away but Laurel stopped him.
"Tommy I've been thinking a lot about our fight" she said.
"What about my father? It's fine you already explained everything" Tommy said.
"Not that fight. The one about my father" Laurel said.
Tommy sighed. "Oh that" he said.
"You were right. I haven't always been on your side with my father and I'm sorry. He has no right to make you feel like you aren't part of this family and I should defend you more. I'm sorry" Laurel said. Tommy held out his arm and Laurel linked her arm through his and they walked out of the building together.
"It's funny you should bring up your father because I have a surprise for you" Tommy said walking arm and arm with Laurel to his car.
Laurel looked up at Tommy nervously. "Should I be excited or nervous about this surprise" she asked.
Tommy smiled at her. "Well that depends how tonight goes. Your father and Donna are at our place with Becca waiting for us to get home so we can have a family dinner just the four of us like I promised" he said.
"You called my father" she asked.
Tommy nodded his head. "Yes I did and he agreed we need to work this out" he said.
Laurel looked at Tommy surprised. "Really" she said.
"Me and your father can't stand each other but we both love you and we both feel you shouldn't have to be put in the middle of our fights anymore so we are going to have a nice home cooked meal as a family and we will get along even if it kills us" Tommy said.
"You actually cooked" Laurel asked surprised.
"Of course not. I actually want your father to like me. I may have had some help from my father's old housekeeper Gloria but your father doesn't need to know that" Tommy said.
Laurel pulled Tommy close to her. "Your secrets safe with me" she said giving him a passionate kiss. They stood there kissing for a moment then Tommy opened the passenger side door. Laurel got in and Tommy got in the drivers side and they drove off while Oliver watched in his vigilante suit from the fire escape. He smiled. His friends were OK. He was happy they were so happy. He headed home for the night. When he arrived at the Queen mansion he watched from the roof as some guy he never saw before approached his mother.
"The police failed to identify the men I hired to kidnap Oliver and they never will. Should we arrange another abduction" the man asked Moira.
"No. There are other ways of finding out what my son knows" Moira said. Oliver watched the exchange from the roof closely. He couldn't hear what they were saying but the whole conversation seemed off to him. Something weird was going on and he was going to find out what that was. First he would start with figuring out who that man was then what his connection was to his mother.
At Merlyn Global a woman walked into a dark office. "I got the number Oliver Queen gave to me" the woman said.
A woman was sitting behind the desk. "Megan, I sent you a week ago to get the number" the woman sitting behind the desk said.
Megan nodded nervously. "I know but my mother got sick and I couldn't leave her side but I have it now" she said walking up and putting it on the desk.
The woman behind the desk took the paper and looked at it. "Mr. Queen gave you this number himself" she asked.
Megan nodded. "Yes Mrs. Merlyn. I got it directly from him" she said.
"Perfect" Mrs. Merlyn said.
"I'll see you tomorrow Mrs. Merlyn" Megan said.
"Wait" Mrs. Merlyn called getting up from the desk and walking around to the front of the desk. Evelyn Merlyn was a heavyset black woman who everyone knew was not to be messed with. She was into some really creepy stuff and Megan was always really nervous around her. "You did good Megan but you kept me waiting and I hate waiting" Evelyn said. Evelyn was really intimidating to Megan.
Megan looked around nervously. "I'm sorry it won't happen again" she said.
Evelyn nodded. "No it won't" she said. Before Megan knew it an arrow was shot into her heart and she fell to the floor dead. Evelyn looked behind her and smiled. The dark archer was standing there bow pointed at where Megan once stood. The dark archer removed his hood.
Malcolm Merlyn smiled at his wife. "She gave it to you" he asked.
Evelyn nodded and held up the paper. "Mr. Queen is a wildcard that I would prefer to be on our side" she said walking over to Malcolm.
"His father was my best friend. I watched him grow up. We don't have to worry about him. I'll get him on our side" Malcolm said.
"How" Evelyn asked.
Malcolm smiled evilly. "By being what he needs right now. A father figure" he said.
Evelyn nodded. "I still want to talk to him. Access him for myself" she said.
"Of course dear. Anything for you" Malcolm said.
"What about your son? Is he going to be a problem" she asked.
"Don't worry about Tommy. I know how to deal with him" Malcolm said.
Evelyn smiled and kissed Malcolm. "Everything's falling into place" she said.
Malcolm nodded. "Nothing's going to get in our way and if they do I'll kill them" he said. Evelyn walked over to the desk and picked up a remote. She clicked a button and a tv turned on. It was security footage of the vigilante fighting his way through Adam Hunt's office.
"It looks like we have a new player in town" she said.
Just then an arrow went flying through the tv. "Whoever this person is, when I'm done with them, they'll wish they never showed up in this city and once I've broken them, I'll kill them" Malcolm said.
Evelyn smiled and walked over to Megan's dead body. "We also have our secret weapon right here" she said pointing to the dead body on the floor. Malcolm smiled at his wife, walked over and kissed her. He pulled her close to him. The undertaking was going to happen and no one was going to stop it. Not Oliver Queen, not his son and definitely not this hooded vigilante.
