Oliver was sitting in Evelyn's office waiting for her to come back. He wanted to tell her face to face that he would not be signing up with her. There were just too many things he didn't trust about her or her offer. She was working with Jason Brodeur. Who knew what other criminals Evelyn and Malcolm were in bed? Oliver wanted no part of that. About 15 minutes later Evelyn walked into the office. She smiled when she saw Oliver sitting in front of her. "Oliver to what do I owe this pleasure" she asked as she walked over to her desk and sat down. Oliver stood up, unzipped his leather jacket and pulled the contract out of the inside pocket. He placed it on the desk in front of Evelyn.
"I wanted to give this to you" he said.
Evelyn smiled at him and took the contract. "I'm glad to see you've decided to…" she started to say but stopped when she looked at the contract. The smile left her face. She looked up at Oliver.
"You haven't signed it" Evelyn said.
Oliver nodded. "I just don't feel comfortable signing it. I hope you can understand" Oliver said.
Evelyn got up from her desk with the contract in hand and walked over to Oliver. "Oliver I know you just returned from being marooned on an island for five years so clearly you don't understand how things work around here" she said as she moved closer to Oliver her chest pressing against him. She leaned in so that she was inches from his face. "No one says no to me. I always get what I want. Sign the contract. This is the last time I will ask nicely" she said going in for a kiss but Oliver moved away at the last second.
"I don't know what the hell you think your doing but as I said before I don't feel comfortable signing the contract" he said.
Evelyn glared at him. "You just made a big mistake" Evelyn said. Before Oliver knew what happened she grabbed him by his jacket, lifted him off his feet and threw him across the room where he landed perfectly in a chair.
Oliver looked at her in shock. She had just thrown him across the room like a rag doll. How the hell was she so strong? She pulled a gun out of her desk and pointed it at Oliver. She slowly started to walk over to him. She shook her head. "I was hoping you would make the right choice willingly but now here we are. You just had to make things difficult didn't you" she said as she approached Oliver.
"What are you going to kill me" Oliver asked pretending to be scared even though he could just take that gun right out of her hand.
Evelyn laughed. "No of course not. Your important to my plans. I can't just kill you" she said. She put the gun under his chin and leaned in close to his ear. "This is your warning. Ever say no to me again and I won't just go after you. I'll go after everyone you love and trust me you don't want that. When I see you again I expect for you to have a change of attitude" she said. She moved the gun from under his chin. "You may leave. I'm done with you" she said.
Oliver got up from the chair and started to walk out of the office. "Oh and Oliver" Evelyn called out. Oliver turned around. "This conversation never happened. If anyone like the police come snooping around or anything it won't be pretty for anyone" she said. Oliver left the office. Evelyn walked over to her desk and sat down. She picked up the phone on her desk and dialed a number. "Oliver Queen refused the offer. We need to move to plan B. Oliver Queen is your number one priority" Evelyn said into the phone.
"Do you want me to do it tonight" the voice on the other end of the line asked.
"No. I'll let you know when. He's going to join us if not willingly than unwillingly" Evelyn said.
"Of course. I'll be ready for him" the voice said into the phone.
"No one knows about your little side business right" Evelyn asked.
"No. It is completely off any records. No one knows what I really do except for you and Mr. Merlyn of course" the voice said.
"Good. I'll be in touch" Evelyn said as she hung up the phone.
Felicity was taking a break from investigating Moira. Laurel and Sara had forced her to take a break so they had lunch, shopped a little and were now heading back to Felicity's office. "He's just so frustrating sometimes. I wish he could see that I'm just trying to help Peter Declan" Laurel said.
Sara shook her head. "I kind of agree with Tommy. The vigilante's dangerous" she said.
Laurel shook her head. "I think he might be trying to make the city a better place" she said looking to Felicity. "Back me up Felicity" Laurel said.
Felicity nodded. "Laurel's right. I think the vigilante whoever he is just wants to make this city safer" she said. Laurel smiled at her sister.
Sara shrugged her shoulders. "Well the sooner dad catches him and gets him off the streets the safer I'll feel" she said. Laurel and Felicity just looked at each other. They didn't agree with Sara at all. The sisters kept walking until Sara stopped them. She stopped them outside a wedding shop.
"Felicity we should go in there so that you can try on wedding dresses" Sara said.
Felicity looked at her sister confused. "Why me" she asked.
Sara looked at Felicity. "Well we know someday your going to have to wear one when you and Oliver tie the knot" Sara said.
Felicity shook her head and let out a sarcastic laugh. "Well you kind of need to be engaged first and I don't see that happening anytime soon" Felicity said.
"Why not? Is everything OK between you and Oliver" Laurel asked.
"Yea do you need me to kick his ass" Sara asked.
Felicity laughed and shook her head. "No everything between me and Oliver is fine" she said.
"Then what's the problem" Sara asked.
Felicity sighed and looked at her sister. "It's just that…" Felicity started to say but was interrupted when someone walked up to the sisters and pulled out a gun. They held their hands up.
"Give me all your money. NOW" the man yelled at the sisters. They started pulling out there money when all of a sudden something dropped in front of them.
It was a robot standing in front of Felicity Laurel and Sara. Felicity looked at it in shock. "It can't be" she whispered. The robot started beating up the man. Felicity stared in shock not believing what she was seeing.
"What is that thing" Laurel asked.
"It's an A.T.O.M robot" Felicity said.
"A what" Sara asked.
"An A.T.O.M. robot. It's supposed to be used to help the cops stop crime but it has a lot of issues and was supposed to be discontinued" Felicity said.
"What kind of issues" Laurel asked.
"It's too violent" Felicity said as the robot stopped beating up the man. It flew away. "It can't tell petty crimes apart from the small ones and gives everyone the same kind of punishment" Felicity said as she pulled out her phone. She dialed 911 while Laurel and Sara checked on the man. Felicity finished telling the operator where they were and they said they were sending an ambulance.
"Did you create that" Sara asked. Felicity shook her head.
"A man named Brandon Purcell created it. He used to work for me but then he sold out to the military. He was part of my robotics program where he created robots that could help law enforcement but they were too violent and unstable. I had all the ones I had control of shut down and discontinued but I guess there are more out there" Felicity said. Felicity started walking back to the office.
"Where are you going" Laurel asked.
"Back to the office to stop the robots once and for all" she said. Laurel and Sara followed her.
"How exactly are you going to do that" Sara asked.
"I still have the deactivation codes in my office" Felicity said. A couple minutes later the three sisters were in the elevator heading up to Felicity's office. She went into her office and onto the computer. "It's heading towards a military base" Felicity said as she rapidly typed into the computer.
"Can you stop it" Laurel asked.
Felicity nodded her head. "Yea all it will take is one final click and boom their deactivated" Felicity explained. She breathed a sigh of relief.
Laurel's phone buzzed. She took it out and looked at it. Her eyes went wide. "I got to go. I have business to take care of. Love you guys" she said hugging both of her sisters as she left.
That night Laurel met with the vigilante this time on a different rooftop so Tommy didn't catch them again. When she arrived he was waiting for her. She explained everything that had happened earlier in the day with the Jason Brodeur and the judge basically dismissing the case. "We're not done yet" Oliver said in his disguised voice.
"I'm an attorney. Trust me we're done" Laurel said.
"What do you need to free Peter Declan" Oliver asked.
"At this point nothing short of a signed confession from Brodeur" Laurel answered. Oliver walked away from her. "Where are you going" Laurel asked.
"To get a confession" Oliver said. Laurel watched as the vigilante left the rooftop. Oliver walked over to his motorcycle and got on it. Oliver's phone buzzed. He stopped the motorcycle and took it out to look at it. We need to meet the text message read. It was from Diggle. Where Oliver wrote back. You're arrow cave Diggle responded. Oliver drove the motorcycle toward his hideout.
Felicity called Walter and told him she found some very interesting information about Moira. He told her he was still at the office so she headed over to Queen consolidated. She headed up to Walter's office. When she got there she saw him sitting behind his desk. She knocked on the door. He looked up and saw it was her. He motioned for her to come in. She walked into the office. He smiled at her. "Hello Felicity. You found something" he asked.
Felicity nodded as she walked up to his desk. "You won't believe what I found. The company Moira invested in doesn't exist" she said.
"I don't understand" Walter said.
"There was no investment. The money was used to set up an offshore LLC called Tempest" Felicity explained.
"I don't recall that name being under the Queen Consolidated banner" Walter said.
"It's not. There's nothing registered with the secretary of state, no federal tax records, no patten applications filed but in 2009 Tempest purchased a warehouse in Starling City" Felicity said. Walter held out his hand for the file and Felicity gave it to him. He looked through it. He smiled at her.
"Good work Felicity" Walter said. Felicity smiled back at him. She was happy to help but now she was curious. What shady stuff was Moira involved in now? Felicity just had to know especially if whatever she was involved in could wind up hurting Oliver or someone else she loved.
