At the Queen mansion Oliver was getting an ankle monitor put on while Walter, Moira and Tommy watched on. Felicity was sitting next to him on the couch. Oliver looked up at his mother. "Mom it's not that bad" Oliver said trying to reassure his mother.
"OK this device has a direct line into the precinct. Stay on the property, your golden. Any questions" the officer who put the ankle monitor on Oliver's ankle asked as he started to pack his stuff up.
"Yes I'm having a sizable get together here tomorrow evening and there is a better then likely chance it spills into the outdoor pool" Oliver said while Felicity and Tommy looked at each other unsure.
"Well that's fine. Step on the grass they're sending a SWAT team to forcibly subdue you" the officer said. Oliver nodded and Moira looked at her son not believing what she was hearing.
"Thank you officer" Walter said.
"Of course" the officer said back leaving the room.
"A sizable get together" Moira said walking over to her son.
"Yea Oliver I don't know it that's the best thing for you to be doing right now" Felicity said.
"I am confined to this house for the foreseeable future, I might as well make the most of it and this party is going to be themed. I'm thinking prison, burning man meets Shawshank redemption the invite says "Come before Oliver Queen gets off"" Oliver said. Walter looked at his watch.
"Maybe a party is not in the best of taste you know considering the circumstances" Tommy said sitting down on the other side of Oliver.
"Tommy the circumstances are why we're having the party in the first place. I want people to know that I'm not worried about any of this" Oliver said.
"Well that makes one of us" Moira said.
"Two" Felicity said raising her hand. "Oliver I think you should take this seriously. You could end up in jail and I don't want to lose you again" Felicity said.
"You're not going to lose me" Oliver said taking her hand and kissing it. Felicity smiled at him.
"I hope your right Oliver. Now if you'll excuse us we have some business to take care of" Walter said motioning to Moira. Moira nodded.
Oliver smiled over at them. "It's OK go. I'll be fine" he said. Walter and Moira left the room.
Felicity looked at her watch. "I have a meeting but I can move it" she said going through her purse looking for her phone.
Oliver shook his head. "Go to you're meeting" he said.
Felicity looked up at him shocked. "Are you sure" she asked.
Oliver nodded. "You have a business to run. Everyone shouldn't stop living they're lives because I'm under house arrest" he said.
Felicity smiled at him again and got up from the couch. "I'm sorry about my father by the way. He can be so unreasonable when it comes to you" she said.
Oliver stood up and pulled Felicity close to him. "He wasn't able to keep us apart when we were teenagers and he won't be able to keep us apart now" Oliver said. Felicity nodded. He kissed her. "I love you" he said.
"I love you too" she said.
"Now go be the sexy badass CEO I know you are" Oliver said. Felicity nodded and kissed him again. "Don't forget about my party tomorrow. I have something to tell you" Oliver said.
She smiled at him again. "I wouldn't miss it for the world" Felicity said. She pulled away from Oliver and looked over at Tommy who was still sitting on the couch. "Bye Tommy" Felicity said.
Tommy waved at her. "Bye Felicity" he said.
Oliver sat back down next to Tommy and sighed. He looked over at Tommy. "So you want to tell me why you didn't turn me in" Oliver asked.
Tommy looked at him surprised. "What" he asked.
"Laurel told me Quentin questioned you and you said there was no way I was the vigilante. I just figured since we haven't been on the best of terms lately you might turn me in when you had the chance" Oliver said.
Tommy shook his head. "I don't want you to go to jail Oliver" he said.
"I thought you didn't agree with what I was doing" Oliver said.
"I don't but you're my best friend Oliver and I'm choosing to put my faith and belief in you. I'm choosing to believe that you're doing this whole Robin Hood thing for a good reason" Tommy said.
Oliver smiled at him. "Thanks. That means a lot" he said.
Tommy nodded. "I know we're going through our crap right now but your friendship is important to me" he said.
"Yours is important to me too" Oliver said.
Tommy looked at his watch. "I should be getting home to Laurel and Becca" he said standing up from the couch. He walked toward the door but stopped and turned around. "Can I give you some friendly advice" Tommy asked. Oliver nodded. "Tell Felicity. If anyone deserves to know it's her" Tommy said.
"I know she does and I hate lying to her so I'm going to tell her at my party. I'm just nervous that this will change everything between us forever" Oliver said.
Tommy shook his head. "Felicity will still be here when everything is all said and done. No one believes in you more than she does" Tommy said.
Tommy left the Queen mansion and made his way back home. Maybe him and Oliver could still have a relationship and be friends. Oliver was his best friend and in certain ways his brother so that was a relationship he didn't want to lose. He was happy they were at least on the right track to making their relationship work again. Tommy arrived at the door of the apartment and opened it. When he walked in he saw Quentin walk past him angrily. "Hello Quentin" Tommy said. Quentin just glared at Tommy and walked out of the apartment. "OK" Tommy said shutting the door and walked into the living room where he saw Laurel standing there. "Hey babe what was that all about? Your father just passed me and he didn't look very happy" he asked his wife.
Laurel rolled her eyes and walked up to Tommy. She gave him a quick kiss. "He's mad that I'm representing Oliver. How did it go with the ankle monitor by the way" Laurel asked.
"Well Oliver's stuck in that mansion and apparently he's throwing a party tomorrow" Tommy said taking off his blazer and throwing it on the couch.
Laurel looked at him shocked. "Is he crazy? That is the last thing he should be doing" she said.
Tommy nodded. "I know. Me Felicity and Moira all tried to talk him out of it but you know how Oliver is when he sets his mind to something" Tommy said. Laurel nodded.
"Dada home" Becca said running to her father.
Tommy smiled at his daughter and picked her up. "Yes daddy's home and I'm happy to be with my two favorite girls" he said pulling Laurel close to him.
She smiled at him. "I have emails to send and phone calls to make but once I do the three of us can do something together" Laurel said smiling at her daughter.
"Dollies" Becca said.
Laurel laughed and nodded. "When I'm done mommy and daddy will play dollies with you" she said tickling her daughter. Becca laughed.
"You know what that means Becca. We get first pick of the dolls" Tommy said to his daughter.
Laurel smiled at Tommy and kissed him. "I'll only be about 20 minutes. Promise" she said.
Tommy nodded. "Let's go get everything set up for when mommy joins us" Tommy said to his daughter walking into her room still holding her.
Laurel walked into hers and Tommy's room and closed the door. She walked over to the nightstand and picked up her phone. She started answering emails walking over to the bed. She wasn't watching where she was going and her foot hit something hard. "Ow" she said. She looked down and saw a long box sticking out from under the bed. What the hell was that? She put her phone on the bed and pulled the box out from under the bed. She put it on the bed and looked at it. It was a long wooden box and it had two latch's on it. She undid the latch's and opened the box. She looked in it shocked. Laurel walked over to the door and opened it.
"Tommy" Laurel yelled out.
"Yea" she heard him yell back.
"Can you come here for a second" Laurel yelled out.
"Yea I'll be right there" he said she closed the door and waited for her husband to come. He had a lot of explaining to do.
About 10 seconds later Tommy opened the door. He stared in shock when he saw his box on the bed opened. He looked at his wife. "I can explain" Tommy said closing the door.
Laurel nodded her head. "OK explain. Explain why you have a rifle in the apartment with you're one year old daughter" she said.
"Look I know it looks bad but I just wanted to make sure we we're safe. This city is really dangerous" Tommy said.
Laurel took the rifle out of the box. "You wanted to protect us with this thing" she said waving it around.
Tommy walked over to his wife and took the rifle from her. "You really shouldn't be waving it around like that" he said putting it back in the box.
"What were you thinking" Laurel asked.
"I was thinking that I need to protect this family" Tommy said.
"With a rifle? Do you even know how to shoot it" she asked.
Tommy nodded his head. "When I was 8 my dad thought it would be a brilliant idea for me to learn how to shoot guns. I learned how to shoot all kinds of guns including rifles" he said. Laurel just stared at her husband. "I got it legally. I just want to make sure that you and Becca are safe" he said.
Laurel softened and walked over to Tommy. "I appreciate that but you really think it's a smart idea to have a rifle in our apartment with our daughter" she said.
Tommy shook his head. "I'm having a lock made for the box. I was hiding it under the bed so she couldn't get to it. Plus the safety will always be on and it won't be loaded unless it needs to be" he said. He picked up the rifle. "This makes me feel safe and not so helpless in this city" he said.
"Fine you can keep it but it is only used for safety purposes" Laurel said.
"Of course" Tommy said putting back in the box and closing it.
At the Queen mansion, Oliver sat in his room with his laptop on looking at his father's list. There was a knock at the door. "Yea" he said. Diggle opened the door. "Thank you for coming. Shut the door" Oliver said. Diggle did as he was told and shut the door. Oliver sat back in his seat.
"I guess it was just a matter of time before the police caught up with you" Diggle said walking up to the desk.
"Except they didn't" Oliver said.
"Oliver they got you on video" Diggle said.
"I knew the security camera was there just like I knew the police would review the footage and arrest me. All part of the plan" Oliver said.
"So you wanted to get arrested" Diggle asked.
"Well I returned to Starling City and a few days later the vigilante appears sooner or later somebody was going to make the connection" Oliver said.
"So what part of serving yourself up to the cops will help you avoid going to prison for the rest of your life" Diggle asked.
"There's more to it" Oliver said.
"Well there better be for your sake because your family is freaking out downstairs. Oliver your mother your sister and Felicity just got you back and now your going to put them through a trial maybe even worse. Don't you care" Diggle asked.
"Of course I care. The mission comes first" Oliver said.
Diggle shook his head. "Even over your relationship with Felicity" he asked. Oliver didn't say anything just glared at Diggle. The mission was important but Felicity was just as important to him and he wasn't going to lose her. Oliver turned his laptop around so Diggle could see the screen. There was a newspaper article with the picture of a man on it. "Who is he" Diggle asked.
Oliver pushed a button and another picture of that man appeared on the screen. "Leo Mueller. German arms dealer suspected in the theft of a hundred M249 squad automatic weapons" Oliver explained. Diggle shrugged his shoulders.
"OK" Diggle said.
"Last night he arrived in Starling City to sell the guns" Oliver said.
"Oliver don't you imagine there's enough trouble your in this week then to go after this guy" Diggle asked.
"I imagine what would happen if street gang got their hands on military grade hardware. I imagine our city streets turned into a war zone" Oliver said.
"I don't know if you've forgotten but your under house arrest Oliver, which means you can't just go after this guy" Diggle said.
"Look for now I would just like you to shadow Muller. I would like you to track his movements. I want to know where the buy is happening" Oliver said.
Diggle nodded. "OK" he said walking closer to the desk. "How am I supposed to track him" Diggle asked.
"Well you know us billionaire vigilantes. We do love our toys" Oliver said. "Go to the warehouse where I brought you after you were shot. The tools are to track Mueller are there" he said.
"OK" Diggle said holding out his hand. Oliver took it and shook. Diggle left the room and headed to the warehouse.
Laurel and Oliver walked into the interrogation room where Quentin and the DA, Kate Spencer were waiting. Oliver and Laurel sat down. "Thank you both for coming" Kate said.
"Thank you. It's nice to get out of the house" Oliver said leaning back in his chair.
"I'll cut right to it. Detective Lance arrested your client without consulting my office first. So congratulations. I am willing to consider a plea in this case" Kate said.
"Absolutely not" Oliver said shaking his head. Laurel looked over at Oliver sternly.
"Mr. Queen spent five years in seclusion on a deserted island cut off from civilization. It is quite possible he's suffering from some form of post traumatic stress. Given that we would support a plea of insanity conditional on a period of indetermined incarceration at a psychiatric facility" Kate said. Laurel looked at Kate thinking.
"No thank you. I'm not crazy" Oliver said.
"Finally something we agree on. He's not a nut. He's a killing machine" Quentin said.
"Actually I'm neither" Oliver said.
"There's nothing you can say to me that I would believe" Quentin said.
Oliver just stared at Quentin and was about to say something smart but stopped himself. He wasn't here to fight with Quentin. He had a job to do. "I'll take a polygraph" Oliver said.
Laurel turned to Oliver and leaned in. "Polygraphs are inadmissible" she said.
"In front of a jury. I'll take a polygraph in front of him" Oliver said looking at Quentin who was just staring at him. "He's the one I need to convince" Oliver said.
Laurel turned to Quentin and Kate. "I'm going to need a minute" she said. Kate looked between Laurel and Oliver then finally her and Quentin stood up as did Laurel. Kate and Quentin left the room. Laurel walked over to the door and Quentin stopped and looked at Laurel before walking away. Laurel closed the door. "Your looking at life in prison. What Spencer just offered you is a gift" Laurel said.
"I'm not crazy. I am innocent. I kind of want to take the polygraph and if I take then and I fail then I will consider making a deal" Oliver said.
Laurel sighed. "Fine. I'll set up the poly and I'll tell Spencer that we're not pleading out but Oliver, you have a family, friends, people who actually care about you, so don't for one second think you're the only person with something to lose here" Laurel said.
Oliver nodded. "I know that" he said.
"Do you because I saw the affect losing you had on your family. The affect it had on Felicity" Laurel said. Oliver looked at her sadly at the mention of Felicity's name. "It broke her Oliver. Felicity is one of the strongest people I know and losing you broke her. She wouldn't eat or sleep. She stopped taking care of herself. That's why she lost theā¦" Laurel stopped herself from finishing the sentence. Oliver just looked heartbroken at the thought of his and Felicity's lost child. Laurel walked over and sat down next to Oliver. "Look Oliver. I know it's not my place but as her older sister I feel I need to protect her so promise me you won't let Felicity go through that again" she said.
Oliver looked at Laurel. "Trust me Laurel. I have no intention of letting Felicity feel that kind of pain over me ever again. I wouldn't be doing this if I thought there was a chance I would lose her again" he said.
Laurel nodded. "I'll be right back" she said getting up and walking out of the room. Now that he was alone Oliver let the stray tear fall from his eye.
Lian Yu
Oliver's hands were handcuffed in front of him and he was being lead into a camp by two men. Oliver looked around and was shocked to see so many people. He was brought into a tent. One of the men led him to a pole in the middle of the tent. Oliver groaned as he hit the pole. The man left the tent. A man was sitting at a table. "Please sit. Your making me feel rude" the man said. Oliver slowly sat down in the seat on the other side of the table. "I do apologize for my men's treatment of you. They're trained to view any stranger as hostile" the man said opening a can of soda and pouring it into a glass. "I'm Edward Fyers by the way" Edward said. Oliver looked at the man sitting across from him unsure about him. "You are" Edward asked.
Oliver thought for a moment about if he should tell him his name. "I'm Oliver Queen" Oliver said deciding to tell him his name. "I'm shipwrecked here. I don't know for how long. My family has money. Lots of money" Oliver said as Edward just stared at him not saying anything. "You'd be really compensated for my rescue" Oliver said.
"Well I look forward to that but for the moment let's just talk" Edward said.
"About what" Oliver asked.
"Well for instance" Edward said reaching behind him and grabbing a photo. He showed it to Oliver. "This gentleman. Do you know him" Edward asked.
Oliver looked at the photo shocked. That was the man that was helping him while he was on the island. He couldn't turn him in to whoever this man was. "No" Oliver lied shaking his head.
"No" Edward repeated.
"No. Who's he" Oliver asked.
"You're a poor liar" Edward said. Oliver looked at the man worried. How did he know he was lying? Edward placed the photo on the table in front of Oliver. He leaned back in his chair. "I've been polite. I'll offer you one more chance before my manners leave me" Edward said.
"Hey, hey I don't know this guy. I thought I was on this island all by myself" Oliver said.
"Do you know what this island is named" Edward asked. Oliver shook his head. "We're on Lian Yu. Mandarin for purgatory but I can make it feel like hell" Edward said standing up. Oliver looked away from him. All he wanted to do was get back home to Felicity. "I don't know why your protecting him" Edward said grabbing the glass and walking behind Oliver. "Your young foolish. Perhaps you don't know why either" Edward said. Oliver thought about it. Why was he protecting that man? "Think on that when your begging for death" Edward said. Oliver just sat there thinking. He was going to die and never see Felicity again. Never get to say he loved her again. He never should have got on that stupid boat. Edward walked out of the tent. "He's yours now" he said as he left the tent. Oliver turned around. He saw a man with a black and yellow mask walk into the tent. Oliver just stared at him. He didn't know who this man was but whoever he was Oliver knew he wasn't someone he was going to like.
