Samantha looked over at Martin and sighed. She couldn't believe that he would just break up with her like that. Him break up with her! It just wasn't possible in her mind.

She really couldn't blame him though, she knew if she was in his position she would have probably gotten tired of her too. She wasn't really sure how it all come done to this.

One thing she did know though was that she wasn't ready to let him go even if he was her. It began to plague her thoughts and she gave up even trying to pretend like she was

working, instead she just stared silently at Martin. She thought about how she felt. Did she love him? She didn't know, she knew she cared for him a lot and maybe as she began

to think about it, maybe she did love him but she just couldn't face up to it. She had just been dumped again and by telling herself she didn't love him it might be easier to get

over him. She knew it wouldn't be easy though. It would be even harder to get over him than Jack. That was certainly a revelation, she thought. Jack, he was possibly the first

person she honestly and truly loved but it was different with Martin. A lot deeper, she knew that she never really had a future with Jack no matter how much she might dream

about it but with Martin she saw a future. A future, could this really be Samantha Spade thinking about a future? Or to be specific a future with a man that she was now sure she

loved. And now it was at this point she wondered why Martin had asked her not to fight. Surely he loved her too or why else would he have broken up with her for the reason he

did. He might think that if she never fought then she could keep some dignity left intact. But that wasn't really a reason at all. Screw dignity, she thought I'm going to fight for the

man I love, no matter what happens; I'm going to fight for all I'm worth. Even if she couldn't get him back then at last finally he would know how she really felt!
