Three scared, emotionless children were staring up at him from the floor. Each one was different, and none of them were from earth.
"Who are you?" One asked. This was a girl. She seemed the youngest. She had a small body, much like a human, but her feet were tentacles of a purple squid. She had three eyes in the middle of her head, and a mouth on the top. Where was this purple kid's nose?
"I'm uh...Spider-Man. Who are you?"
"Jemi." She said.
"I'm Narcissa," said another girl. She was the oldest, and most beautiful. She was a walking, talking, blue wolf. Not bright blue, but a sky blue. She was amazing to look at. She was a wolf!
Narcissa got down on all fours. It seemed she was more comfortable walking that way. By the sound of her voice she seemed fifteen.
"Me and Narcissa come from Anamilia. It is a different planet than yours, I expect," Said another. She was a green horse. With the mane and the hooves and everything! Even though Narcissa seemed older, Mati was sure as hell taller.
Spider-Man was shocked at this whole thing. They must come from a planet of earth animals, but different colors and a hell of a lot smarter.
The green horse smiled. "I am Mati."
"Well...uh...hi." He waved. They waved back.
"What are you three doing in here?" He asked.
"You don't work for this place?"
"No."
"We don't know what's going on. We were taken here, but failed to be contestants because we're so young. We've been in here for days."
Spider-Man saw a guitar-an earth one-in the corner of the room.
"You know how to play?" Narcissa asked, catching his eye.
"Uh...a little, yeah. Why?"
"Can you?" She asked.
He nodded, sort of reluctantly.
He picked up the guitar and pick and plopped his butt on a stool.
"You know any earth music?" He asked them.
"Green Day." Mati said with uncertainty in her voice.
"Yeah...I love them. I bet you know this one..."
And he began to play...
"Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road.
Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go.
So make the best of this test and don't ask why.
It's not a question, but a lesson learned in time.
It's something unpredictable, but in the end is right.
I hope you had the time of your life.
So take the photographs, and still frames in your mind.
Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time.
Tattoos and memories and dead skin on trial.
For what it's worth, it was worth all the while.
It's something unpredictable, but in the end is right.
I hope you had the time of your life."
Mati and Narcissa clapped with enthusiasm, while Jemi was too little to understand the words.
Spider-Man put down the guitar and smiled, sucking up to their applause.
As he took a bow, he noticed a door on the other end of the room.
"What's that door?"
"We're not supposed to open it. The mean lady told us."
Spider-Man walked over to it. Opening it, he found it lead to the outside.
"We're not supposed to do that." Jemi said.
"What's CCACC?"
"WHAT?" Mati and Narcissa screamed. They ran over to look.
On the outside, above the door, said 'C.C.A.C.C.'
They all looked terrified.
"Well?" He asked.
"It's the Children Control And Containment Center!"
"What?"
"They capture kids!"
Narcissa paced the floor in a circle, on all four paws. Then the door squeaked open. The Headmistress stood there, looking very unpleased.
"I thought," She told Spider-Man. "I told you to Wait."
