RWBY Reacts to Yu-Gi-Oh 5d's Dubbed
Episode 3 – Pipe Dreams
Sitting on the new couch were four individuals that team RWBY knew all too well. The blond in white armor, the amazon warrior, the closest thing Beacon had to a ninja and the queen of hammers/explosions/pancakes, all in combat uniforms yet still soundly asleep.
Yang was the first one to break the sudden silence. "Soooo… why did you bring JNPR here? I mean, I have nothing against them but-"
"I figured there were more people around here who might like to watch this world." Saixus answered. "Team JNPR seemed like the most obvious candidates to add, not to mention the ones closest-by."
"Urgh, Ren turn off the lights!" Nora said in a very sleepy tone. "You know I don't like waking up early... unless you're making pancakes. In that case, you may continue."
Nora's teammates started waking up and quickly noticed that something strange was going on.
"...Uhm, why are we in team RWBY's room?" Jaune asked confused.
"Where did our pajama's go?" Pyrrha asked as she saw she what she was wearing.
"And who's the man in the cloak?" Ren asked, a little weary of the stranger.
Ruby laughed a little awkwardly before saying "Well, you see…"
Ruby and the others proceeded to explain their current situation to the new arrivals.
"…So let me get this straight." Jaune started. "This Saixus guy accidently teleported into your room from another dimension, one in which multiple universes can be viewed on television, and now you're being forced to watch some other world that looks like an animated show?"
"That's pretty much it." Blake confirmed. "He's also the one who teleported you guys here. Apparently he wants you guys to watch this as well."
"I'm... not entirely sure what to think of this..." Jaune admitted.
"Oh who cares about that." Nora said as she was eating a bucket of popcorn that Saixus had given her mid-explanation. "We get to have a movie-night without worrying about the teachers telling us to go to sleep and more importantly, we get free snacks!"
"But we're not allowed to leave until Saixus says we can?" Ren asked. "We were planning another day of training tomorrow for the festival. I don't think it would be wise for us to stay up all night."
"You're welcome to try and sleep here." Saixus stated. "But good luck doing so while the rest of us keep watching the Yu-Gi-Oh 5d's universe."
Ren figured it wouldn't be too difficult to sleep while the others watched the show but knew that Nora would keep waking him up whenever something exciting happened on the screen. He let out a sigh as he accepted his fate.
"This universe is called the Yu-Gi-Oh 5d's universe?" Pyrrha asked, unsure why this universe had such a strange title. "What exactly is so special about this place that you want us to watch it?"
"How about I show you four instead of telling?" Saixus proposed as he started the third episode.
The episode begins with the Yu-Gi-Oh 5d's logo appearing on a black screen while Yusei says "Now let's get up to speed with Yu-Gi-Oh 5d's!"
"Oh! Is this a recap of the previous episodes?" Ruby asked.
"Indeed Ruby." Saixus answered "Quite a few episodes in this show start off by summarizing what happened in the previous ones. It's a little annoying and I'll probably skip the ones that come up in the future, but for now this is a good way for our latecomers to see what happened."
"Wouldn't it be better for us to see the previous episodes themselves instead of just a summary?" Jaune questioned.
"Probably, but I'm not in the mood to rewrite two entire chapters just to include JNPR's reactions."
"Wait wha-"
The summary interrupted Jaune as we see Yusei putting on his helmet. "I'm gonna take this chip out for a test drive!"
"Now who's this?" Pyrrha asked while subconsciously questioning his hair-style.
"That's Yusei!" Ruby answered before Saixus could. "He's the main-character of this show/dimension and he's pretty awesome!"
"How awesome?" Nora asked curiously.
"See that bike he's driving?" Ruby asked as Yusei was currently shown to be driving up some stairs. "He build that using nothing but junk."
"WHAT?!" All members of team JNPR shouted save for Ren, who did raise an eyebrow in disbelief.
"And that's the second one he made." Yang said before frowning. "His first runner got stolen by some jack named Jack Atlas."
Ren gave Yang a look. "There's someone who's last name's Atlas in this world?"
"Yeah and he's pretty much just as big a jerk as most other people from Atlas." Yang stated which caused Weiss to frown at her. "Present company not include… okay semi-included."
"HEY!"
Yusei then started driving away from Sector Security. "You are in possession of stolen property. Escape is not an option!"
"Did this Yusei steal something?" Pyrrha asked.
"No those cops where after a boy named Rally but Yusei distracted the police so that Rally and his other friends could escape." Blake explained.
"Also Rally didn't steal anything. It was all some complicated set-up Sector Security, that's the organization those cops work for, were ordered to execute by Jack so that he could throw Yusei in jail." Ruby told further.
"Wow, this Jack-guy must really not like Yusei." Jaune concluded. "First he stole his bike and now he wants to imprison him? What did Yusei ever do to this guy?"
"So far, we don't know Jack's motives." Blake told them. "We have seen some flashbacks in which it looked like Jack and Yusei kinda got along, but we haven't seen anything yet that could explain why Jack suddenly turned on Yusei."
"Pull over! There's no use trying to escape!" Trudge yelled as Yusei stopped near the building-complex. "Now tell me, are you going to make this easy and come along quietly?"
"I will." Yusei stated. "If you can beat me."
"Beat him in what?" Pyrrha asked. "A street-race?"
"Nope." Yang answered. "In a Turbo-Duel."
"What's a Turbo-Duel?" Ren asked.
"A card-game that's played while driving around on motorcycles." Weiss explained and all of team JNPR looked at her like she had grown a second-head. "Trust me, I wish I was making that part up."
Nora lifted her finger and said. "Okay two questions. First, how do you play a card-game while driving a motorcycle and second, where can I learn how to do that?"
Ren shook his head and made a mental note to keep Nora away from motorcycles for the foreseeable future.
"Let's ride!" Yusei and Trudge said at the same time as they speeded through the complex.
We then skip through the first-part of the duel. "I can special-summon Montage Dragon to the field." Trudge said as he played Montage Dragon.
"IS THAT A THREE-HEADED DRAGON?!" Nora shouted out loud while the rest of her team were also taking back by the dragon's sudden appearance.
"It is!" Ruby chipped in. "See, those motorcycles they're driving are actually called Duel-Runners and they're equipped with holographic-projectors. Thanks to those, the cards that they use in this game show up in the form of holographic monsters!"
"Extremely realistic holograms used for playing a card-game…" Pyrrha said not sure what to think of this. "That's-"
"MIND-BLOWINGLY AMAZING!" Nora interrupted.
Jaune wanted to comment on how much of a waste it would be to create expensive hologram equipment just for a card-game, but the 8-year old in him was fanboying over how amazing it looked. "…If I could ride a motorcycle, I'd probable play it."
Ren and Pyrrha looked at their respective teammates and sighed.
"Go Power Collage!" Trudge shouted as Montage Dragon was about to attack, but then the scene cut to later in the duel.
"Aw come on!" Nora was disappointed. "I wanted to see that awesome dragon attack."
"Don't worry Nora. There's a much awesomer attack about to be shown." Yang assured her, hoping the summary wasn't gonna skip Junk Warrior's punch.
"I activate the trap-card Equip Shot. This releases my warrior from your dragon's grip and lets me use its ability against you!"
"Junk Warrior, end this!" Junk Warrior's eyes shined upon hearing its master's command. He readied his fist as his jetpack flared up, launching him at maximum speed towards his target. As he made contact with Montage Dragon, it looked like Junk Warrior had turned into a giant version of his own fist. Montage Dragon exploded and Trudge lost all of his life-points as he screamed in defeat.
Nora's mouth was agape. "Yang, you were right. That was the AWESOMEST PUNCH I HAVE EVER SEEN! It was even more awesome than any of your punches!"
Yang laughed awkwardly at Nora's statement. "Hehe, let's not go too far."
Trudge grunted his teeth together in frustration. "Things ain't over between you and me."
"I'm guessing we're going to see their rematch this episode." Jaune figured.
"That would make sense." Ruby stated. "We saw Trudge in the previous episode getting ordered to chase after Yusei again with a new deck of cards. Chances are he's gonna try and stop Yusei from going to the city."
"Why would the police stop him from entering a city in the first place?" Pyrrha asked.
"Yusei's from a place called the Satellite Sector," Blake took over. "which is pretty much a scrap-island where those who live there have no choice but to work at recycling-plants in order to survive. If that wasn't bad enough, it's also forbidden for people from the Satellite to enter New Domino City and Sector Security enforces this rule."
"So he's trapped on an island with nothing but trash?" Nora summarized with a frown. "No wonder he wants to leave!"
"Yusei! You gonna try and get to Domino City?" Rally asked excitingly.
"Yeah, midnight tonight." Yusei answered.
"What's at midnight?" Nervin asked.
"Who are these guys?" Jaune asked.
"Well the kid's Rally, the guy with the glasses is Nervin, the bulky guy is Tank and the last guy's called Blitz." Ruby answered. "They're all friends of Yusei's."
"Wait that's Rally?" Jaune asked confused. "I thought you said he was a boy?"
"He is." Saixus spoke up. "The long-red hair and cloths can throw you off but he is indeed a guy. Don't worry, Ice Queen made the same mistake earlier."
"Why does everyone always call me that?!" Weiss whined.
"Nevermind that he's a guy, does that kid have a tattoo on his face?!" Nora brought up which surprised the rest of team JNPR as well.
Blake decided to clarify. "It's not a tattoo, but a tracking-device that Sector Security uses to keep an eye on released prisoners. Why they decided to place one on Rally however is beyond me."
Nora then wanted to ask if anybody knew a place where she could get a tattoo on her face but Ren's disapproving stare caused her to keep quiet.
"The tiniest of opportunities." Yusei responded as he pressed a few keys on his laptop. "The only way between the Satellite and New Domino City is this sewer-pipeline here. Once a month at midnight, they shut the system down to check the compressor-pumps. Then a maintenance-hatch is automatically opened and that's when I'll get my chance to make it through."
"He's gonna drive through a sewer-pipeline?" Pyrrha asked looking a bit green. "That sounds… a bit unhygienic."
"That's what Nervin said." Yang said between giggles. "But this pipeline is actually used for trash instead of toilet-business."
The recap ended with a black-screen as Ruby said "Wait, they're not gonna mention Lenny at all?"
"Who's Lenny?" Ren asked.
"Yusei's opponent in the last episode." Blake explained. "He tried to take Yusei's Duel-Runner for himself but gave up once Yusei defeated him."
"Also the monsters he used were a bunch of bugs." Yang revealed.
"Bugs?" Nora asked with a frown. "That doesn't sound very impressive."
"One of those bugs was a giant ant with chainsaws for teeth." Blake stated and JNPR looked flabbergasted at that description.
"…Can I see it?"
"No." Saixus and Weiss told Nora at the same time.
"Agh dang it!" Nora whined.
"By the way I'm skipping the intro again." Saixus revealed.
"But JNPR hasn't seen the intro yet!" Ruby tried to argue.
"Look we've already spent over 2000 words getting JNPR up to speed and recapping the last episode. I'm starting the new episode now!" Saixus all but shouted.
We go to the Satellite where Nervin was summarizing Yusei's plan… to Yusei. "You've only got one shot at this Yusei. The maintenance-hatch opens at midnight and only stays open for three minutes after that."
"He knows…" Rally deadpanned.
Nervin continued. "Then they flood that pipeline with garbage-"
"He knows!" Rally repeated a little louder.
"-and as soon as you jump over the sewage-plant's fence, the security will be-"
"HE KNOWS!" Rally yelled officially done with Nervin's summary. "Try being positive for once Nervin!"
"I thought I was…" Nervin said dejectedly.
Yang tried and failed to hold back her snicker. "Well, guess we know who wears the pants in this group."
Ruby snickered at how badly Nervin was following her previous advice. "At least he's trying!"
Yusei looked at the screen of his Duel-Runner which was showing the current time, 11:15.
"Hey Yusei!" Blitz grabbed Yusei's attention. "Can you really do this?"
"A test-run is one thing but uh," Nervin tried finding the right words. "the real thing is something else."
"He's not wrong." Weiss agreed. "Racing through some tunnels is one thing but actually driving through that garbage-pipe is gonna be very different."
"Yeah but how else was he supposed to practice?" Yang asked the Schnee-heiress. "It's not like he can go to that place and ask the guys in charge if he can race through their trash-tunnels for a bit."
"If they catch you-"
"Don't listen to these guys Yusei." Tank interrupted Nervin and tried to come up with some inspiring words. "Just uh, I don't know, hit the gas and don't ever look back."
"He's… only giving advice for speeding through the tunnel, isn't he?" Pyrrha asked. "He's not telling Yusei that he should forget about him and the others… right?"
"Of course not!" Ruby stated confidently. "Tank just…" Then remembered the time Tank mentioned Jack during the first episode. "….has a habit of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time."
Rally suddenly remembered something. "Almost forgot!" He then ran towards Yusei and gave him a card. "Here, for good luck!"
"What is it Rally?" Yusei asked confused.
Nora looked perplexed. "Uhm a card, obviously!"
"I think he wants to know which card it is." Ren clarified for the pancake-lover.
The image on the card was that of a yellow-robot with boosters for arms. "Turbo Booster!"
Yusei turned to Rally and asked "Wasn't this your father's card?"
"I want you to take it." Rally said, mind made up. "Like my dad always says, you never know when you might need a boost. I just hope it can help you get back your Stardust Dragon from Jack!"
"Aaaw." Ruby said with watering eyes. "It's so sweet of him to give his father's card to Yusei."
"What's Rally's father like?" Jaune asked.
"We haven't seen the guy so far so we have no idea." Yang answered.
Yusei accepted the card and then got ready to drive. "You gonna be on the monitor?"
Rally nodded. "We'll go topside so we can get a clear signal. Now rev it up!"
"That's Yusei's catchphrase by the way." Yang informed team RWBY.
"He has a catchphrase?" Team JPR asked while Nora started thinking of a catchphrase of her own.
'You just got hammered! … Nah, too obvious.'
"And don't slow down for nothing!" Blitz yelled which would be his parting words as Yusei started speeding through the tunnel.
"You go Yusei!" Rally shouted out to his hero.
"Goodbyes are always so heartbreaking…" Ruby said between tears.
"He's not leaving them forever." Yang assured her. "All he's doing is getting payback on Jack, get his card back and then he'll be back in time for lunch."
Pyrrha looked confused at Yang's statement. "He's… going to break the law just to get his card back?"
"Pretty much." Weiss said equally frustrated at Yusei's short sightedness. Sure she wanted Jack to pay for what he did, but risking imprisonment for it?
"He's risking jail-time for a card?" Even Nora found that a bit over the top. "This card better be able to bake pancakes considering the risk he's taking for it!"
'It's time to settle the score Jack.' Yusei thought before racing up some stairs and going to the surface. He then proceeded to race to his destination.
Unknown to Yusei however, the acceleration-chip in his Duel-Runner transmitted a signal to Sector Security headquarters.
"We have movement!" A random dispatch-officer shouted to Trudge. "Yusei's gone topside! We picked up the homing-signal from the stolen chip!"
"It's not stolen!" Ruby shouted. "You guys left that for Yusei to find!"
Pyrrha put her hand on her chin. "So that chip has some sort of homing-beacon? That's pretty clever."
"Yeah but it would have been smarter if they also included some program to completely neutralize Yusei's Duel-Runner." Weiss stated.
"Maybe they couldn't include such a complicated program onto the chip?" Ruby guessed.
"So, where is he?" Trudge asked impatiently.
"He's in the east-sector! Switching to satellite-imaging now!" The dispatch-officer answered before zooming in on Yusei and getting a clear-image of him.
"Uh, what is a satellite?" Nora asked unfamiliar with the term.
"The island is named Satellite but that's probably not what the officer is referring too." Weiss stated. "Satellites are also a term for communication devices placed in orbit. Remnant's been experimenting with technology like that for years but never managed to get one functioning since dust doesn't work once it leaves Remnant's orbit. Seems like in this world they figured out how to make one that actually works. That's pretty impressive."
Saixus took over the conversation. "Satellites are pretty much the crown-jewel in technological achievements. They not only make global-communications possible, but extremely easy."
"Why put those things in space instead of just building them on the ground like we do?" Yang asked. "It's impressive and all, but how would you ever fix one of those things if they ever got broken?"
"They're placed in space so that their signals can reach as large a domain as possible AND to prevent them from getting broken in the first place." Saixus explained. "Since the satellites are in space, nobody can touch them and, subsequently, nobody can damage them. Sure we can't send someone up there to repair them in case of a technical failure, but all we'd need to do is send up a new satellite to replace the broken one and bang, problem solved."
"It can't be that easy. Aren't satellites super expensive to make?" Jaune pointed out.
"Of course they are." Saixus replied. "But since most societies pretty much depend on global-communications, it's worth the price. These satellites aren't just for global-communications either. They're also used for accurate weather-predictions, space-exploration and in this case, global-security. Though I will admit, zooming onto a single person like they're doing now, while possible, seems a little over the top."
"Where do you think you're going?" Trudge asked before running to the elevator. "Lock onto that chip, then open up a comm-link and update me. Do not lose him!"
Trudge quickly drove off with his Patrol-Runner and started heading towards Yusei's position. "Trudge, he just turned off Monteque, heading south on Davis Drive!"
"On my way central!" Trudge confirmed as he kept driving.
Blake frowned. "Looks like Trudge's peace-agreement with Yusei has gone out the window."
"He's under direct orders to arrest Yusei and his job's on the line. He already nearly lost his job once, so it's no wonder he's so motivated." Weiss stated as she wondered if she could ask Saixus for more specifics about this worlds satellites later so that she could pass that information to her sister.
Yusei was still making his way to the sewage-plant while his friends were heading to the roof of some random building.
Blitz looked at his watch and saw it was currently 11:56 PM. "The maintenance-hatch opens in four minutes! Let's book it!"
"Wait up!" Tank said lagging slightly behind.
"I think he should cut down on the junkfood a little." Jaune said as a joke but saw the uncomfortable looks on team RWBY's faces. "Is something wrong?"
Ruby decided to cut-off the bandage. "Well you see Jaune… last episode we learned that the Satellite kind of lacks… junkfood."
JNPR blinked as their brains were processing what unholy combination of words just left Ruby's lips. Nora was the first to speak up. "No junkfood… as in no pizza, no burgers, no fries, no soft-drinks, no NOTHING!"
Weiss tried to calm Nora down. "To be fair, they never specifically stated they had no junkfood, but at the very least they don't have cheeseburgers."
"THAT'S BAD ENOUGH ALREADY!" Nora shouted. "At least tell me they still have pancakes!"
"We haven't seen any pancakes yet sooooo, maybe they don't have those either?"
Ruby's words caused Nora to faint on the floor.
"Careful." Nervin advised Blitz as he started climbing a ladder.
"Not now Nervin!" Blitz said impatiently.
They all climbed to the top of the building where Blitz took out some binoculars to try and spot Yusei.
"Can you see him?" Rally asked worried.
It only took Blitz a few seconds to spot him. "There he goes! Ah yeah!"
Nervin meanwhile had set up his laptop and was following Yusei through the webcams on his Duel-Runner. "We got a clear signal on the monitor. Looks like he's approaching the sewage-plant."
They weren't the only ones as the sewage-plant's automated security also saw Yusei approaching. "Warning. Warning. You are entering an unauthorized zone. Turn back immediately."
Ren was putting Nora back in her seat as the hammer-wielder was still out cold. "Can we pause the show until Nora wakes up?"
Not willing to pause, Saixus snapped his fingers and a hot-plate of pancakes appeared on Nora's lap. Once the smell hit Nora's nose, she instantly woke up.
"Oh pancakes!" Nora started eating away as the trauma she just suffered had caused her to forget the whole debacle.
Suddenly out of nowhere, Trudge appeared on his Patrol-Runner and pushed against Yusei's Duel-Runner. "Pull over Yusei!"
Yusei did not listen as he continued heading to the factory. He looked back at Trudge and thought 'Trudge? How'd he find me?'
"I guess the idea of that chip having a tracking-signal never crossed his mind." Blake figured.
"Why would he even still use that chip if he knows that it came from the bad-guys?" Jaune asked.
"Well he couldn't get his runner to work properly without it, so he didn't have much choice but to use it." Saixus answered.
"Where do you think you're going? Don't you know it's two hours past curfew or can you still not tell time?" Trudge asked while driving right besides Yusei. "Pull over!"
Yusei did the exact opposite and speeded away from Trudge.
"Yeah keep going Yusei!" Yang cheered. "Don't waste any time on this clown!"
"He doesn't have time to waste on anyone." Weiss said a little peeved she had to watch the incompetent officer again. "Yusei only has a short window of time to make it through that tunnel. He can't allow himself to get slow-downed by Trudge one bit."
Trudge saw Yusei get ahead of him. "Kids these days. Never do what they're told. Huh? Is he going for the sewage-plant?"
Yusei speeded straight through some obstacles on the bridge and then proceeded to jump at least 5 meters into the air to get over the fence.
Everyone stared at the unbelievable jump Yusei managed to accomplish before Yang said. "...I'm gonna try that with Beacon's fence tomorrow."
"No you're not!" Weiss shouted.
Yusei landed safely, causing Yusei's friends to cheer.
"So far so good." Blitz stated.
"Hadsun come in!" Trudge called the dispatch-officer. "Open the security-gates and do it quick!"
The now named officer Hadsun did just that as the gates opened up, allowing Trudge to continue pursuing Yusei.
"Boo!" Nora booed at the screen. "He should have jumped over it the same way Yusei did!"
Weiss turned to Nora. "Nora, I don't even know how Yusei managed to accomplish that jump, and while I'm not the biggest fan of Trudge I don't wanna see him collide against an iron-fence."
"He's heading for the compactors." Hadsun notified Trudge.
"I'm on him!" Trudge assured the dispatch-officer. "He won't get far. There's nowhere he can go."
Blake realized that Trudge was right. "If that bridge was the only way into the factory then Yusei's now trapped. The only way out is through that maintenance-hatch, but he will have to deal with Trudge first."
"So it's either make a successful escape out of the Satellite or go to prison?" Yang summarized. "Great, as if his odds weren't bad enough already."
"Uh-oh, Sector Security is closing in on him!" Nervin said scared for his friend's safety.
"Oh man, not Trudge again!" Tank complained, didn't the officer have anything else to do?
'This should be fun.' Trudge thought as he was slowly getting closer to Yusei. "You may have beaten me in our last duel but I've got something special planned for you and this time I'm taking you down. See with that chip you installed I can now force you to Turbo-Duel!"
Trudge pressed a button on his screen and the card Speed World appeared on his screen. "DUEL MODE ENGAGED. AUTOPILOT STANDING BY."
A purple wave originated from Trudge's runner and suddenly Yusei's Duel-Runner spoke up as well. "OVERRIDING SUSPECT'S DUEL-RUNNER."
Yusei stared at the screen in shock. "But how?"
"AUTOPILOT ENGAGED." The AI finished as Yusei's runner was now in Duel Mode.
"What..." Weiss started saying with a hint of disbelief. "…just happened?"
"It would seem that Trudge was somehow able to force Yusei's runner into Duel Mode." Ruby theorized. "The chip must have somehow bypassed the Duel-Runners security-programs and now it's giving Yusei no choice but to duel Trudge."
Weiss took a deep breath before letting it out and said "They were able to include such a complicated program into the chip but couldn't include something to, I don't know, FORCE YUSEI'S RUNNER TO STOP ENTIRELY?! WHY FORCE HIM TO DUEL THE OFFICER INSTEAD OF TAKING THE DUEL-RUNNER COMPLETELY OUT OF COMMISSION?!"
"It does sound easier than forcing him into a game." Ren agreed. "How would playing this game even allow Trudge to catch Yusei in the first place?"
"Because the loser's Duel-Runner, will automatically hit the brakes as soon they lose." Yang answered.
"…Who on Remnant designed these things?" Pyrrha couldn't help but ask because being forced to suddenly come to a halt sounded like a huge safety problem.
Tank's previous confidence suddenly left him. "This wasn't in the plan…"
"Trudge hacked in somehow!" Rally stated the obvious.
"Well Yus needs to get unhacked! There's no time to duel!" Blitz stated as the countdown on the screen showed 11 minutes and 58 seconds and counting down.
"Uh, wasn't it already 11:56 a few scenes ago?" Yang asked confused. "I thought they said the hatch opens precisely at midnight."
"Blitz' watch must have been running ahead a few minutes." Ruby reckoned.
"I think it's the laptop's timer that's faulty." Jaune rebutted. "If Blitz's watch was running ahead, he wouldn't have said they only had four minutes earlier."
"I let you off the hook last time Yusei!" Trudge claimed.
Yang called BS. "No, you got your butt kicked last time!"
Trudge continued "But this time me and my special pursuit deck are gonna haul you to the Facility for good! You can't escape Yusei! You see that acceleration-chip you installed has enabled me to hack into your Duel-Runners mainframe and the only way to break free of the connection is to beat me!"
"WHY WOULD YOU TELL HIM-NO WHY WOULD YOU EVEN GIVE YOUR TARGET A WAY TO BREAK THE HACK IN THE FIRST PLACE!" Weiss shouted to the heavens.
"Again Weiss, you do remember we want Yusei to escape right?" Yang reminded her.
"And again, of course I want Yusei to escape!" Weiss clarified. "But if Trudge was using this ridiculous strategy on an actual criminal, said criminal would practically have a 50% chance of escaping capture! This is the equivalent of cornering a bad guy, but doing a coin-toss to decide if you bring them in or not!"
"…She has a point." Ren admitted, wondering what could have possibly happened in this world that caused police-officers to play card-games to capture criminals.
Two scoreboards appeared on the screen with 4000 life-points each.
"Oh that reminds me." Saixus snapped his fingers before the members of team JNPR started grabbing their heads.
"OW!" Nora yelled. "What was that for?!"
"I just quickly gave you all the basic Duel Monsters info that I've already given team RWBY during the last two episodes.
"Couldn't you have just told us?" Jaune asked as the headache was slowly fading. "Because that hurt, a lot."
"I could have but that likely would have been a little boring for the viewers." Saixus said leaving everyone confused once again.
Trudge's deck was automatically shuffled as he said "And now I'll show you what my special-pursuit deck is made of. First, I'll summon out Gate Blocker in defense-mode!"
A blue light rushed toward Yusei which summoned a giant wall with an eye on it straight in front of him, with a defense-strength of 2000.
"A gate…" Yang was disappointed. "He summoned a gate."
Nora shared Yang's disappointment. "Great, first monster we actually get to see in a Turbo-Duel, and it's a stupid gate!"
"One with 2000 defense-points." Ruby observed. "Yus' gonna have to bring out a though monster to get rid of it."
'Still better than those dogs.' Blake thought to herself.
Yusei looked surprised at the monster in front of him and even slowed down a little.
"Anyone know what that thing does?" Nervin asked the others.
"I've never heard of that one." Rally admitted.
Weiss had slowly recovered from her mental breakdown. "Given that there are over 10 000 unique cards in this game, it's not that surprising to come across one you're unfamiliar with."
Jaune blinked. "I'm sorry, this game has HOW MANY UNIQUE CARDS?!"
Weiss turned to Saixus and asked "I thought you gave them all the knowledge of this game we already had."
"Hey, it was the first time I ever dumped mental-info into someone's head so sorry if I accidentally missed some details."
"…If you've never done something like that before, was it absolutely safe for you to do?" Pyrrha asked a bit worried for her brain.
"Don't worry." Saixus assured her. "The worst that could have happened was that one of you suddenly lost consciousness from an overload of info."
Enter random AI lady. "When Gate Blocker is face-up on the field, your opponent cannot gain any speed-counters during their standby-phase."
Ruby quickly realized what this meant. "But if Yusei doesn't gain any speed-counters then he can't use any of his speed-spells!"
"And if Trudge still gets his speed-counters, then this monster will give Trudge a huge advantage." Jaune added recalling the knowledge of speed-counters Saixus had dropped into his head.
"Then Yusei better finds a way to destroy that monster before Trudge gets too much of a lead in speed-counters." Weiss stated.
"What exactly is a standby-phase tough?" Pyrrha asked the host.
"Oh right, didn't go over the different turn-phases yet." Saixus realized before turning his attention to the others. "Basically a player's turn is split-up into different parts. Your turn begins with the draw-phase. As the name suggest, it is the phase in which you draw a card from your deck. Then comes the standby-phase, in which certain cards that were played in previous turns can activate. In a Speed-Duel, the standby-phase is also the phase where you receive your speed-counters. Then you have the first main-phase were you basically summon monsters, play face-downs, use spells, switch monsters modes and so on. Next is the battle-phase, which is the phase where you order your monsters to attack, followed by a second main-phase and finally the end-phase, which basically ends your turn but like with the standby-phase there are certain card-effects that automatically trigger within this phase."
Everyone stared at Saixus while Weiss had decided to write all this down since it was a pretty big pile of info.
"Uhm, could you repeat that last part?" Nora asked.
"Which part?"
"Oh you know, pretty much everything after 'Your turn begins'?" Nora asked with an awkward smile which Saixus responded to with a deadpanned expression.
"Now with perimeter secure I place one card face-down and end my turn." Trudge said as he played his final card of the turn.
Just as expected, during Yusei's standby-phase Trudge received a speed-counter but Yusei received none. This surprised Yusei quite a bit. "Nothing happened? Huh?"
"Something wrong?" Trudge asked with a smirk. "Did you just notice that your speed-counters aren't increasing? Well they're not going to! See it's all part of my plan. In our last duel I underestimated the power of your deck and almost wound up back on traffic-duty, but unlike you I learn from my mistakes and this time you won't be surprising me but have I got some surprises for you, such as my Gate Blocker's spell-card which has your game stuck in neutral!"
"Uhm, Gate Blocker's a monster-card, not a spell!" Ruby corrected. "How did Trudge mess that up?"
"Just more proof that he really was the lowest in his class." Weiss said as she shook her head.
Trudge grin did not leave his face. "Seems like an appropriate effect, wouldn't you say?"
"Why is that?" Yusei asked.
"Because," Trudge started explaining. "just like in life, you're going nowhere. Unless you count being sent to the Facility as going somewhere. Only this time it isn't going to be some little vacation like your visit to the Re-education Center. See this time Yusei, you're gonna be locked away for a very, very long time!"
"Assuming you can catch me!" Yusei replied.
As Trudge and Yusei kept dueling the automated sewage-plant started shutting down as it was now precisely midnight. A timer appeared on Nervin's screen starting at three minutes and counting down.
"Uh-oh is it midnight already?" Tank asked in panic.
Nervin grunted as he looked at the screen. "In three minutes they'll be closing the hatch."
"Seems I was right." Jaune said. "If the timer on Nervin's screen was correct then no way would it already be midnight."
"Well this isn't looking good for Yus." Yang stated. "He only has three minutes to reach the hatch and he hasn't even reached the pipeline itself yet! Yusei needs to speed up a little, fast!"
Nervin continued. "And then Yusei won't be able to make it through to New Domino City!"
"Man, officer Trudge is always getting in the way!" Rally complained.
Yusei kept his eyes on the road and said "If I get out-dueled down here, I may never get another chance to settle the score with Jack, and Jack will never have to answer for what he did. I can't let that happen."
"I get he wants to get payback at Jack but doesn't he realize he's being extremely reckless right now?" Pyrrha asked. "Once Sector Security realizes how Yusei's planning to enter the city, they can easily sent an escort to the other end of the tunnel and arrest him once he gets out."
"If they figure it out." Ruby said to the red-head. "So far it doesn't look like Trudge has realized what Yusei's plan is."
"Once he sees Yusei enter the pipeline though, that will likely change." Ren stated.
"Come on Yus!" Tank cheered.
"Break away!" Rally said worryingly.
Yusei speeded up a little bit. "The green light's mine and I summon Speed Warrior in attack-mode!"
Speed Warrior jumped out of his summon-circle and quickly took a battle-position.
"I'm starting to think Speed Warrior is Yusei's go-to monster." Yang said, wondering if Yusei had multiple copies of the card in his deck. "This is the third duel in a row were he brings that guy out."
"Why wouldn't he bring him out?" Blake asked the blond. "He's been pretty dependable in the last two games."
"Your just saying that because you still own the guy for kicking that dog." Yang stated, causing Blake to pout the other way.
"Wait, Yusei's monster kicked a puppy?!" Nora shouted in anger. Who would ever want to kick an adorable little dog?!
Trudge did not look impressed. "Ha, I remember that little toy from our last duel, and I remember that it's attack-points double on the turn it's summoned, but like last-time, it's just too weak! I guess you still haven't learned how to add, have you?"
Blake wanted to comment on how Speed Warrior defeated Trudge's Assault Dog in their previous duel but didn't wanna make Nora any angrier then she already seemed.
Speed Warrior's attack-points increased to 1800 but Gate Blocker's defense-strength remained the same at 2000. Despite this, Yusei already knew how to take Gate Blocker out of commission. 'Okay Rally, let's see what this card of yours can do.'
"I special-summon Turbo Booster in attack-mode!" Yusei declared as the monster Rally gave him appeared on the field with an attack-strength of 0 points.
Some of the group got worried at Yusei summoning a monster with no attack-strength. "That's some gift. It doesn't even have a single attack-point!"
"Come on Nora." Ruby tried to be positive. "I'm sure Rally wouldn't have given that card to Yusei if he didn't think it was useful."
"He could have given that card to Yusei for sentimental reasons rather than practical ones." Weiss said before thinking Yusei's move over. "Although I doubt Yusei would have summoned that card if he didn't think he could use it."
The AI confirmed Weiss' thoughts. "When you release Turbo Booster, your opponent's monster is destroyed if it battled against the monster you summoned this turn."
Weiss was happy with being proven right. "You see? Now all Yusei has to do is attack Gate Blocker with Speed Warrior and it's goodbye to Trudge's only monster. Sure Yusei will lose a small 200 life-points but that's a generous price if it means getting his speed-counters back."
Jaune looked at Ruby and whispered. "Since when was Weiss so interested in card-games?"
"Well Weiss was also pretty invested in the first duel." Ruby replied back. "The only reason she didn't like the second one as much was because of all the bugs."
Rally stared at the monitor both happy and in disbelief. "He actually played my card!"
"Power-up!" Yusei shouted as both Speed Warrior and Turbo Booster flew into the air. Speed Warrior landed on Turbo Booster's boosters and then got shot straight toward his target. "Speed Warrior, release!"
Trudge didn't seemed worried. "So? That don't scare me."
"It should cuz now Speed Warrior can attack using Turbo's special ability!" Yusei began to explain.
"That's so awesome!" Rally cheered. "I had no idea he could do that with Turbo Booster!"
"How?!" Weiss asked in disbelief. "It's his own card. How can he not know what it does?!"
"To be honest, I haven't seen any text on those cards so far." Yang admitted. "The only thing I saw on that Turbo Booster-card were its attack- and defense-points. If it wasn't for the AI explaining it, I'd have no idea what that card did either."
"…Then how can anyone know what their cards do?" Jaune asked confused.
"Maybe they search it up online?" Pyrrha theorized. "Either that or they use those cards in multiple duels to see what they do? You know, trial and error."
Blitz stood up a little bit. "He might be able to take out Gate Blocker, which means he might be able to break free, which means he might be able to kick into overdrive, which means he might still make it! Of course he might not."
"Wow." Yang said between giggles. "I don't think I have ever seen someone go from hyped too pessimistic in such a short amount of time."
Ren nodded but could think of one other person who could switch tones so quickly.
"…What?" Nora asked as Ren was eyeing her.
"Not good enough!" Trudge said sounding extremely sure of himself. "Even if you destroy Gate Blocker with that boost of yours, Gate Blocker's defense is still too strong. And just like our last duel you're gonna get hurt in this blast, not me."
Speed Warrior delivered a flying kick to Gate Blocker, causing the monster to explode. But like Trudge predicted, Yusei took 200 points of damage while Trudge's life-points remained unharmed.
"Boom, vroom, kaboom!" Rally cheered. "I just knew my Turbo Booster card would help him out!"
Tank cheered as well. "Yeah! Go Yusei!"
As Yusei kept driving he finally approached his target. "There it is. The main-pipeline, I may still have enough time!"
"There's no way he has enough time to clear that tunnel." Pyrrha said in worry. "Any idea how much time he has left?"
"Not much." Blake answered. "Giving how much time has already past, I'd say Yusei has somewhere around a minute left before the hatch closes."
"The episode can't be over yet though." Ruby said. "The first two took about 20 minutes each and I think we only watched around 11 minutes so far."
Yusei entered the factory and allowed gravity to carry him to the bottom-floor where the sewage-pipe was waiting for him. Without hesitation he drove right into the massive pipe. "All right, I'm in!"
Weiss was pretty surprised when she saw the tunnel. "Okay, that tunnel is way bigger than I thought it would be. Not to mention cleaner."
"Hadsun!"
"Sir!"
"He's gone into the waste-disposal system, switch to the security-camera's down there. Don't lose him!" Trudge ordered before he followed Yusei into the tunnel.
"…Why are there security-camera's inside a trash-tunnel?" Jaune couldn't help but ask.
"Maybe to easier spot defects in the tunnel?" Ruby answered unsurely. "Or to spot people who might try to escape through the tunnel like Yusei is now?"
Jaune took Ruby's explanation but couldn't help but feel like those camera's where a bit out of place.
"I have a better question." Yang stated. "Is Trudge really gonna follow Yusei into what's arguably a death-trap? Cause if so he's got bigger guts then I thought."
"Uh-oh, it looks like Trudge isn't giving up." Nervin noted.
"Don't worry, Yusei will shake him!" Rally stated confidently.
Blitz gave Rally a reality-check. "There's no way to shake him now. The pipeline's a straight-shot!"
"Running is for cowards anyway." Nora said.
Trudge and Yusei kept going through the tunnel when Trudge made his next move. "Ready for another surprise? I activate my Broken Blocker-trap so I can play two Gate Blockers!"
Trudge's trap-card revealed itself and shot a blue-ray of light toward Yusei. Before he knew it, two new Gate Blockers had appeared before him, each with 2000 defense-points.
"Oh come on! He just got rid of that annoying piece of wall!" Nora complained.
"It's a good thing Yusei only needs to drive straight-ahead, because those Gate Blockers are really obscuring his vision." Ren noted.
"Oh man, more roadblocks!" Tank complained.
"What made you break curfew tonight Yusei?" Trudge asked before taking a guess at Yusei's plan. "Are you trying to escape the Satellite?"
"Uh-oh." Ruby said worried. "Trudge's on to him!"
Weiss pinched her nose. "And yet he still hasn't ordered anyone to block the exit!"
"To be fair, they're likely less than a minute away from the exit." Blake stated. "Even the fastest officers can't possible arrive there in time even if Trudge gives them a heads-up."
"That doesn't mean he can't at least give them a heads-up!" Weiss shouted.
"And what if I am?" Yusei asked sarcastically.
"Don't you know that your kind don't exactly fit in in New Domino City?" Trudge asked.
Blake growled at Trudge using the words 'your kind'.
"I'm not going there to fit in." Yusei assured him.
"So what's your plan? We both know you got some enemies in very high places. You trying to get to New Domino City to settle some score?" Trudge guessed.
"I wonder how much Trudge knows about Yusei's situation?" Yang asked. "Because that's a pretty close guess."
"Well he knows Jack's involved." Blake stated. "But Trudge has never been told why Jack wants to imprison Yusei, or at least we never saw."
"Something like that." Yusei said before placing two face-downs. "I play these two cards face-down and end my turn."
"Only two minutes left!" Nervin said worried.
"Two minutes?" Blake asked confused.
"Looks like Yusei has more time left then we thought." Ruby spoke up.
Nervin continued. "And 8 miles of pipeline to go!"
"He'll make it." Rally said, one-hundred percent certain. "We did six test-runs. Yusei knows what he's doing."
"Security wasn't harassing him on those test-runs." Tank pointed out. "And by this point he was so much closer to the goal!"
"There's no escape Yusei." Trudge said with confidence while Yusei's friends continued to worry.
'If I don't find a way round those Blockers fast, I'll never make it to the hatch in time.' Yusei thought in worry.
"You'll never escape Yusei!" Trudge repeated. "And to make sure of it, I'm calling in some back-up, by radioing Gonogo to come to the field in attack-mode."
A black ball like monster with red-eyes and a bird's beak appeared on the field with 1350 attack-points.
"First those gates now this?" Yang said unimpressed by the new monster. "I'm starting to think Trudge's former deck was better, at least when it comes to the monster-designs."
'You won't hear me complaining.' Blake thought still preferring Trudge's new deck to his old one.
"Gonogo, move in and take out Speed Warrior!" Trudge ordered as it was now revealed that Gonogo was pretty huge. It rushed toward Speed Warrior, causing Yusei to look behind him and see the massive ball approaching him as if it was the giant boulder from Indiana Jones.
"Okay if that thing wasn't a hologram, this would actually be kind of terrifying." Yang admitted.
Speed Warrior turned around just in time for Gonogo to crush him into the ground, causing Yusei life-points to drop to 3350.
Once again, Blake was sad to see Speed Warrior getting destroyed while Nora figured the warrior had it coming.
"Ha! Your loss is my gain." Trudge cheered as his speed-counters went up to 3.
Yusei's friends gasped at Yusei's monster getting destroyed.
"Come on Yusei!" Rally had not lost hope yet as the timer revealed Yusei still had 1:50 seconds remaining which for some reason went up to 1:51 seconds.
"Wait, the timer went up?" Ruby asked confused.
"What's wrong with that laptop?" Yang asked annoyed. "First it showed a completely inaccurate timer and now it's counting up instead of down?"
"Well they probably found that laptop in the trash." Blake assumed. "Guess it makes sense for there to be a few bugs on it."
"Both figuratively and literally." Nora said and Weiss shivered at being reminded where Yusei and his friends get their stuff.
"Now it's my move!" Yusei said while drawing his next card. He smiled dramatically after seeing what is was. "It's go time. I summon the Junk Synchron tuner-monster!"
Junk Synchron appeared on the field, ready to go.
"Then I activate the Graceful Revival trap-card!" Yusei announced as a trap-card with a skeleton on it activated.
"Huh?" Trudge said confused. "What are you planning?"
Weiss face-palmed again. "This is the exact same play Yusei made during his previous duel with him. How can Trudge not know what Yusei's planning?!"
Yusei explained. "Let me show ya, see Graceful Revival lets me summon a level two or below monster from my graveyard, so I'm bringing back Speed Warrior!"
Speed Warrior reappeared just in time for Junk Synchron to give him a tune-up. "Now I tune my Junk Synchron with my Speed Warrior, to synchro-summon Junk Warrior! Let's rev it up!"
Junk Warrior appeared on the field ready to crush Trudge a second-time while accompanied by some pretty epic music.
Nora approved. "Now that's how you make an entrance."
"Thattaboy Yusei, now finish up Trudge and get out of there!" Tank stated.
"He's gonna take out Trudge's Gonogo now!" Rally predicted.
Rally's prediction came true as Junk Warrior got ready to punch Gonogo into next week.
"Go Scrap-Fist!" Yusei yelled as Junk Warrior smashed Gonogo into dust.
"Cool attack but the name could use some work." Nora said which Yang and Ruby agreed with.
Trudge fell back a bit as his life-points dropped to 3050. "Ha, you pulled the same move last time we dueled. You're getting a little predictable Yusei, but now I'm gonna speed things up."
Trudge drew his next card and smirked when he saw what it was.
"Oh that can't be good." Ruby said worried about what Trudge just drew.
"You're not the only one who knows how to sup-up your monsters." Trudge declared as he played the card he drew. "I summon Jutte Fighter!"
Trudge's new monster appeared to a Japanese guy wearing a red/yellow-kimono and glasses. In his right-hand was a steel-jutte and his attack-points read 700.
"That's it?" Nora was not impressed. "Just some little guy with a metal-stick? Trudge's monsters are real let-downs."
Jaune however was pretty worried about the new arrival. "Didn't you hear what Trudge just said? Jutte Fighter might not look impressive, but it's likely also a tuner-monster just like Junk Synchron."
That got everyone's attention.
"That's a tuner-monster!" Yusei instantly realized.
Having it confirmed by Yusei did not help.
"So now Trudge's gonna summon a synchro-monster?" Pyrrha asked.
"Most likely." Weiss stated. "And given the Gate Blockers Trudge currently has on the field, whatever monster Trudge's about to summon will be of a higher level than Junk Warrior."
"Wonder what his new monster will look like." Yang asked a little curiously.
"Sure is." Trudge confirmed. "And there's still more surprises to come. Jutte Fighter! I tune you to my Gate Blocker in order to synchro-summon Goyo Guardian!"
The bottle on Jutte Fighter's back started to glow before turning him into 2 shiny stars. Said stars flew to one of the Gate Blockers and started turning into green circles. Once Gate Blocker was in the middle of said circles, a bright flash appeared and Goyo Guardian was summoned. Goyo Guardian turned out to be another Japanese-person but this one was much taller, wearing a traditional Japanese-outfit and had face-paint all over his body. He was also holding a jutte, but this one was attached to a rope. Much more frightening however were its attack-points, which were a grand total of 2800.
The two teams blinked at the synchro-monster before some of them started snickering.
Unlike the others, Nora failed at keeping her snickers contained. "Pfffff, hahahahahahahaha!"
"Okay, that guy is easily the most ridiculous monster he's played so far! I mean, it's a guy covered in make-up!" Yang said in between giggles, failing to take the warrior seriously. "If I were Trudge, I'd go back to the commissioner and give him those cards back because his first deck was easily better than this one."
"Was it though?" Blake asked and not just because she didn't want Trudge to get his old deck back. "Trudge's new monster might not look impressive but it still has 2800 attack-points. That's more than enough to deal with Yusei's Junk Warrior."
"Well yeah, but Trudge's first deck had a dragon with even more points than that."
"And said dragon also cost him every other card in his hand." Blake reminded Yang. "Besides, this monster might have his own set of abilities."
"It looks like you underestimated my deck this time, doesn't it?" Trudge stated before ordering his next attack. "Now, attack!"
Goyo Guardian spun his Jutte around a few times before throwing said jutte against Junk Warrior. Junk Warrior exploded the second the tip of the jutte made contact with him, causing Yusei's friends to gasp in worry.
Trudge laughed triumphantly as Junk Warrior reappeared on the field, but he was tied up in the jutte's rope. "Goyo Guardian is a special monster. See, when it attacks it doesn't destroy anything. It just takes control of them and uses them to do its bidding."
Blake smirked at being proven right.
"Kind of like the relationship you have with Jack Atlas, huh Trudge?" Yusei fired.
Yang and Nora both made an 'oooooh!' sound before Nora said. "Hope you got something cold for that sick burn!"
"Man, Yusei's spitting fire." Yang stated, feeling pretty proud at her fellow bike-enthusiast.
"You Satellites." Trudge said annoyed. "You never know when to stop talking back."
Blake smirk vanished as she growled once more.
"1 minute 40 seconds left." Nervin stated as the timer kept going down.
"Hey the timer's working again." Yang said before looking confused. "But is it just me, or is that timer counting down rather slowly. Because I'm pretty sure Yusei's 3 minutes passed by some time ago."
Saixus was officially done with the entire time-problem. "Look just ignore that stupid countdown and enjoy the rest of the episode."
"Come on Yusei, hurry!" Rally said as he and the others were getting more and more worried. "You're running out of time, come on go!"
Trudge looked at his screen and saw he had 4 speed-counters. "Nice. With my speed-counter at 4 I'm now able to crank this hot pursuit up to the next level by activating a speed-spell from my hand, go Sonic Buster!"
AI time. "Sonic Buster is a spell-card that deals damage to your opponent equal to half the attack-points of one monster on your field."
Trudge used Sonic Buster on his Goyo Guardian which caused a purple light to shine on the guardian's chest, surrounding the warrior in a purple glow.
"When you said you were full of surprised, you weren't kidding." Yusei said.
Trudge kept smirking at his opponent. "Well I'm glad I didn't disappoint. And guess what Yusei, I won't be disappointing my superiors either. Because this time I'm not gonna let you just walk away when the last card is played."
Goyo Guardian fired the ray from Sonic Buster at Yusei, causing him to grunt at the rush of light.
"Again with the blinding lights?!" Weiss said in frustration.
"It's a really good thing there are no turns in this tunnel." Ren repeated.
"And with that attack it's only a matter of time before your life-points are running on empty." Trudge claimed as Yusei's life-points dropped to 1450. "Now to make sure you don't pull some fancy maneuver I'm using a second Sonic Buster to slow your game down!"
Yusei gasped in surprise at Trudge activating a second Sonic Buster. Another ray of purple light erupted out of Goyo Guardian and dropped Yusei's life-points down to a measly 50. Yusei started to slow-down and was now riding besides Trudge instead of in front of him.
"Gah!" Tank yelled. "Now Yus will never clear the hatch!"
Ruby was getting seriously worried. "Yusei's got no monsters and his life-points are unbelievably low! How's he ever gonna get out of this one?!"
"Don't worry sis." Yang tried to calm her down. "Sure things aren't looking good for Yusei but he managed to get out of tough-spots before."
"I hope your right sis." Ruby said worry still present in her voice. "Cause if Yusei loses, Trudge will throw him in prison for who knows how long!"
Jaune however realized something. "Wait, Yusei will automatically be forced to stop if he loses the duel, right?"
"Yeah?" Yang confirmed.
"Which means Trudge would have to somehow drag Yusei back to the police-station, right?" Again, Yang nodded at Jaune's question. "...How is he gonna do that if he's in de middle of a trash-tunnel that will turn itself back on soon?"
Realization started to dawn on the others before Ren said "He can't. At this point they're both too deep into the tunnel to turn back."
Pyrrha continued Ren's line of thought. "Which means that if Yusei loses the duel-"
"Both him and Trudge will get covered in mountains of trash!" Ruby finished.
Weiss face-palmed once more. "This is precisely why it was a dumb idea for Trudge to continue his chase after Yusei had gone into the tunnel. Even if Trudge wins, he's gonna end up buried along with Yusei!"
Ruby didn't like the idea of either Yusei or Trudge potentially dying cause of garbage. Sure Trudge was a massive jerk, but nobody deserved to go out that way. "Maybe they can temporary put their differences aside so they can both reach the end of the tunnel and continue their match in the city?"
"Even if Yusei proposes such an idea, considering what we've seen of Trudge so far, I don't think he'll be willing to listen." Pyrrha stated to which Weiss fully agreed.
Trudge was starting to get ahead of Yusei and said "You won't beat me this time Yusei and you'll never escape from the Satellite cause once I win I'm taking you in. I can't wait to see you get locked up!"
Blake shook her head. "He's so caught up in his duel with Yusei that he's not even aware of the situation he's in."
"You'd think that dispatch-officer would have warned him by now." Pyrrha stated.
Weiss shook her head and was starting to get convinced every Sector Security officer was just as incompetent as Trudge.
"Well you're gonna have to keep on waiting officer Trudge, cuz I'm about to put the pedal to the metal." Yusei declared.
Trudge wasn't scared on bit. "But I've got all the power."
"You sure about that?" Yusei asked before starting his turn. "I summon the tuner-monster Nitro Synchron!"
A small robot appeared on the field wearing yellow gloves and shoes, with an attack-strength of 300.
"It's another tuner-monster!" Ruby shouted happily. "Yusei must be planning to bring out a new synchro-monster!"
"With what?" Weiss asked. "Yusei's got no other monsters on his field to tune with."
"I have a feeling Yusei's already figured out how to solve that problem." Blake said with certainty.
"Another tuner-monster?" Trudge was surprised but not worried. "Heh, you never were one to give up without a fight. Too bad I've got your speed-counters all locked up."
"That's what you think." Yusei stated confidently which caused Trudge to become confused. "I activate a speed-spell, Dash Pilfer!"
The AI spoke up for the last time this duel. "Dash Pilfer is a spell-card that allows you to gain control of one of you opponent's monsters that's face-up and in defense-mode."
Blake flinched when she saw that Dash Pilfer was holding an Assault Dog card.
"Yay!" Ruby cheered. "Now Yusei can get his Junk Warrior back."
"Wait, how's Yusei even able to use that card?" Weiss asked confused. "He's got no speed-counters to use!"
Trudge was just as confused as Weiss. "No way, with my Blockers on the field you don't have enough power to play a spell!"
"Blocker." Ren corrected since Trudge only had one Gate Blocker left on his field.
Yusei smiled and said "You should double-check your screen."
Trudge did so and was beyond surprised at what he saw. "What the-, but, BUT… THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE! You shouldn't have ANY SPEED-COUNTERS! How can this be-"
We then flash-back to earlier in the duel.
Trudge looked at his screen and saw he had 4 speed-counters. "Nice. With my speed-counter at 4 I'm now able to crank this hot pursuit up to the next level by activating a speed-spell from my hand, go Sonic Buster!"
Trudge realized what happened. "Oh no, when I played that speed-spell you must have countered with something."
"Is that allowed?" Pyrrha asked. "Using a card and not telling your opponent what you did? That doesn't sound very sportive…"
"Maybe, but Trudge should have spotted that trap the second Yusei activated it." Blake noted. "Even if he didn't miss it on purpose, it's still his fault for not seeing it."
"I sure did." Yusei confirmed as the flash-back ended. "So if you think you're the only one full of surprises, guess again. Now I know you're not one for detail but this little oversight is gonna cost you big time. See, while you were so busy trying to hold my game down, I played Slipstream which gives me the same number of counters you had when you played your second Sonic Buster. So by trying to slow me down you've only made me faster!"
"Aw yeah, now Yusei's got all the speed-counters he needs for his comeback." Yang stated.
"Show that officer what you're made of!" Nora cheered, really getting into the game.
Trudge was super pissed as Yusei rode past him. "That's just like you! Waiting for handouts, latching on to someone else!
Blake did not hold in her frustrations this time. "Well did it ever occur to you that people might do that because they don't have any other choice? Those who live in the slumps can take what they can get, even if that means depending on the charity of others!"
"Blake, are you okay?" Ruby asked.
Blake let out a sigh. "I'm sorry, seeing how Trudge treats Yusei makes me think too much about all the problems Faunus face in our world."
"Dash Pilfer, get in there and rescue Junk Warrior!" Yusei said as his speed-spell shot a ray towards Junk Warrior which freed him from Goyo Guardian's rope. Junk Warrior gladly returned to Yusei's side of the field. "Trudge, after all these years you still don't know anything about me. All you ever see are rules and them being broken but you've never stopped to ask why, have you? I guess it pays well to be ignorant, doesn't it?"
"Ugh!" Trudge grunted as Yusei's stabbed him in the pride.
"Daaaaaaaaammmn!" Yang and Nora said at the same time.
"Yusei doesn't pull any punches, does he?" Pyrrha asked.
"Yeah, Yusei's an expert at burning Trudge." Yang stated with pride. "I've got to remember that line."
"This is no time to be lecturing!" Blitz said with a good amount of urgency in his voice. "You've only got 35 seconds!"
Saixus was secretly happy that nobody said anything about the countdown this time.
"He's almost there!" Rally said confidently.
"All you got to do is slip through that side-hatch before it closes Yusei!" Tank reminded.
Trudge and Yusei were starting to near the hatch and it was only now that Trudge saw said hatch that he realized what Yusei's plan was. "That hatch, you're planning on using that to escape from the Satellite!"
"Took you/him long enough to figure that out!" Yusei stated as well as Weiss. "Guess nothing goes by you, does it Trudge. That is, nothing but me and my Duel-Runner."
Yang and Nora snickered at yet another stab at Trudge's dignity.
Weiss was pinching her nose and said "I can't believe Trudge only figured out now how Yusei's planning to get out of that tunnel. What, did he think Yusei would just go into that tunnel to bump into a dead-end? He should have known that Yusei isn't the kind of guy who would do something like this without a plan!"
"Honestly, I blame the dispatch-officer." Blake spoke up. "He had plenty of time to look over the blue-prints of that tunnel and discover that there was a hatch open at this time."
"No, it was definitely more Trudge's vault." Jaune put in. "He clearly thought that the tunnel didn't have an opening and figured Yusei would eventually meet a dead-end. Why continue chasing him if you think he has nowhere to go?"
Trudge tried to keep his cool. "Well I'm just one move away from proving you wrong and locking you up for good." To prove his point, Trudge started speeding up to try and catch-up to Yusei.
"Not gonna happen." Yusei stated confidently. "Cuz I'm about to rev things up one more time!" Yusei started putting the pedal to the metal as Nitro Synchron started to engulf itself in a green aura. Yusei started driving faster and faster, as he reached speeds of over 250 kilometers an hour.
"I'm sorry, he's going HOW FAST?!" Jaune yelled in surprise while Nora's mouth was wide open and even Ren had a look of surprise on his face.
"I don't think there's any motorcycle on Remnant that can travel that fast." Pyrrha stated, just as surprised as her teammates. Yang grunted at Pyrrha's statement and started thinking of ways to make Bumblebee even faster.
"Another synchro-summon?!" Trudge asked in disbelief.
"That's right." Yusei confirmed. "Now Nitro Synchron, give Junk Warrior a tune-up." Junk Warrior became enveloped by 2 synchro-rings and became transparent. 5 stars came out of Junk warrior which lined-up in the middle of the rings before a massive flash of light appeared. "I synchro-summon, Nitro Warrior!"
A green beetle-like warrior took to the air before clutching his fist and getting ready to fight.
Nora started shaking in excitement. "Oh this is getting good!"
"I know right!" Ruby shared Nora's excitement. She really wanted to know what Yusei's Nitro Warrior could do.
"Yusei's new monster has the same attack-points as Trudge's Goyo Guardian." Weiss observed before turning to Saixus. "What happens if two monsters with the same attack-strength fight each other?"
"Then both monsters wind-up destroyed." Saixus explained. "Unless one of them was in defense-mode. If a monster's defense is equal to another monster's attack then neither one ends up destroyed."
"Trudge I have one last surprise for you." Yusei claimed. "If my Nitro Warrior attacks on the same turn a speed-spell was used, it gains a thousand attack-points."
"It WHAT?!" Trudge shouted as Nitro Warrior's attack-points went up to 3800.
"And with that your Goyo Guardian is a goner." Yusei said as Nitro Warrior's boosters flared up and he rushed towards Goyo Guardian, who gulped in fear. "Nitro Warrior, attack with Dynamite Crunch!" Nitro Warrior's hands turned into two giant green fists of light which struck against Goyo Guardian, obliterating him.
The others cheered at Goyo Guardian's destruction while Yang pouted. 'Great, another monster to remind me I want a jetpack.'
Trudge's life-points dropped to 2050 but he tried to keep his cool. "This ain't over yet Yusei."
Yusei begged the differ. "Oh yes it is. See, Nitro Warrior comes custom-made with a special ability. When it destroys one of your monsters, and you've got a monster in defense-mode like Gate Blocker, it forces it into attack-mode."
Gate Blocker suddenly went into attack-mode, which wasn't good considering it only had 100 attack-points. Trudge certainly wasn't happy. "But then I can't protect myself!"
"And even though my Nitro Warrior loses one-thousand attack-points, it's still strong enough to destroy Gate Blocker and win this duel."
Trudge grunted but couldn't do anything to stop the 2800 attack-point warrior from punching Gate Blocker right in the eye. Trudge screamed as his life-points dropped to zero and his Patrol-Runner stopped in its tracks.
"He did it again!" Ruby cheered. "Another come-back victory for Yusei!"
"He's really good at pulling those off, isn't he?" Yang asked since this was the third-time in a row Yusei came close to losing before totally turning the tables on his opponent. She had a feeling this wasn't gonna be the last time either.
"Vrash, vroom, kaboom!" Nora imitated Rally as she stood on the couch. "That was totally awesome! Please tell me those eggheads in Atlas are working on a game like this Weiss. I'd pay top-lien for such a ride!"
Ren shook his head as he should have seen this coming.
"I said it once and I'll say it again, the scientists in Atlas have better things to do then come up with a holographic card-game that can be played on motorcycles!" Weiss shouted back but was happy to see the officer got put in his place once again.
Jaune's face however paled when he saw Trudge come to a sudden stop.
All of Yusei's friends, aside from Nervin, cheered. "He won!"
"He made Trudge wipe out!" Blitz celebrated.
Nervin however gave his friends a quick reality-check. "Too bad he couldn't stop the clock!" The timer ran out and worry started to manifest on everyone's faces. "The hatch is gonna close."
"And that means Yusei won't be able to escape!" Tank realized.
"Rev it up Yus!" Rally shouted in fear of Yusei's safety.
The cheerful mood most watchers had also came to a sudden halt.
"Oh no!" Ruby said worryingly. "Yusei's out of time! That hatch will close any second now!"
"That's not the worst of it." Pyrrha spoke up. "Yusei's got no choice but to keep going forward cause if he tries to turn back now, he'll get crushed by the incoming trash for sure."
"Aren't you guys overreacting a bit?" Nora of all people asked with a confused look on her face as she sat back down. "So what if he ends up a little dirty? How dangerous can a trash-flood possible be?"
Yusei went the fastest he could as he started to reach the end of the tunnel. The hatch was slowly starting to close but the trash-gate didn't wait for it to close completely. The gate instantly opened and Yusei was suddenly getting bombarded by multiple giant metal objects, including a car!
Everyone watched wide-eyed at the massive objects heading towards Yusei, including Nora. "…Oh, that dangerous."
"How is he supposed to survive this?!" Weiss asked in both disbelief and fear.
"Unless Yusei has a Semblance similar to mine, I'm afraid it won't take long for all this stuff to break his Aura." Pyrrha stated which caused team RWBY to flinch.
"Oh right, another thing I forgot to put into the mind-dump." Saixus realized. "Long story short, there are no Auras, Semblances or Grimm in Yusei's world."
"HUH?!" All members of team JNPR shouted save for Ren, who's eyes did widen at this statement.
"If Yusei doesn't have an Aura or Semblance, then how can he possible save himself?" Ren asked as everyone fully focused on the screen.
Yusei eyes shot wide open as he started to avoid the trash to the best of his abilities. He dodged fridges, safes and other objects before driving to the roof of the tunnel. Once he got back on ground level, he drifted to avoid a giant metal container. 'Come on, stay on target!' Yusei thought as sparks started to burn off his wheels, dodging even more trash in the progress. He eventually made it to the hatch and slid through the opening just before it closed.
"HE MADE IT!" Ruby cheered and Nora and Yang followed. The rest let out a huge sigh of relief.
"Thank goodness." Pyrrha stated happily as her heart started to calm down. "I was afraid that was gonna end much worse for him."
Yang really wanted to race against Yusei right now. "Did you see that loop though?! Yusei's Duel-Runner was only completed a few days ago and he's already riding it like a pro!"
"Is that jealousy I smell?" Nora asked with a grin on her face.
"What, no!" Yang quickly stated. "I-I mean it wasn't that impressive. I can pull that off too!"
"Suuuure you can." Ruby said sarcastically, grinning at Yang's expanse.
"Uhm guys?" Jaune said which caused the group to look at him. "I'm happy Yusei got away... but how's Trudge going to escape the wave of trash?"
…
"Oh…" Everyone said at once, as none of them could imagine this next part end well for the officer.
Trudge was not as lucky as Yusei as he saw the massive trash-heap approaching him. "HUUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-"
The trash-flood swallowed Trudge and his Patrol-Runner whole as he tried to call for help. "Central, override the trash-compactor! OVERRIDE THE TRAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaa-"
Everyone was dead quiet as they saw Trudge getting swiped away by giant pieces of garbage.
Yang was the first to break the silence. "…Uhm, quick question. How big are Trudge's survival chances?"
"Not great." Blake answered, also a bit distraught at what she just saw. She wasn't a big fan of the officer but he certainly didn't deserve such a cruel fate. "Honestly, I'm surprised he didn't die the second that trash-flood landed on him. Something like this will be very difficult to survive, even if he had Aura."
"And even if he survives this, he's likely going to be hospitalized for weeks if not several months." Pyrrha added, feeling really bad for the officer.
Weiss felt bad for Trudge too, but a part of her couldn't deny that it was Trudge's own fault for getting in that situation.
"What happened to Yusei?" Tank asked afraid to know the answer.
Nervin couldn't deliver said answer. "Don't know. The screen went blank."
"He made it through the hatch. I just know he did." Rally said confidently but still a little afraid. "I-I just know it!"
Tank started fearing the worst. "But if he didn't…"
"Don't worry guys!" Ruby said to the screen even though they couldn't hear her. "He made it through just in time!"
Nervin started giving into despair but was quickly squashed by a bleeping sound coming from the computer.
"Hey what's that?" Blitz asked.
Nervin looked at the screen and couldn't belief his eyes. "It's Yusei!"
The groups fear turned into joy again now that they knew Yusei made it through safely. Rally especially smiled at his hero's successful escape. "Hahaha, I told you I so told you, yeah!"
"He did it!" Tank cheered. "He actually made it through to new Domino City!"
"That's right. I never had a doubt." Nervin claimed as Rally kept smiling.
"Suuuuuure you didn't." Yang said sarcastically.
Yusei jumped down some floors of the trash-collection plant he ended up at and drove outside, nobody there to try and stop him.
"And of course there are no officers waiting for him…" Weiss shook her head as she was now convinced the entirety of Sector Security was incapable.
"Again, they only learned how Yusei was planning to escape a few minutes ago." Ren reminded her. "They're likely still heading there as we speak."
"I seriously doubt it." Weiss stated before letting out a sigh. "Well at least Yusei made it to the city in one piece. …So what's the plan now?"
Yang turned to face Weiss. "To go look for Jack to get his card back of course."
"Yes but where's Yusei even supposed to start looking for him?" Weiss asked. "From what we've seen, New Domino City is pretty huge. Possibly bigger than any kingdom we have. Not to mention Yusei's now a fugitive. He'll be found by Security long before he can even get close to Jack."
"And since this is Yusei's first time in the city, he'll have a tough time navigating." Blake added. "He has no place to stay and he can't ask for help without drawing attention to himself. Yusei's plan to get into the city may have worked, but it seems he didn't put too much thought in what to do once he got there."
"Well, maybe he'll get lucky and bump into Jack eventually?" Nora suggested.
Weiss sighed. "Jack is a famous individual. He's not going to be around the regular neighborhoods. The chances of Yusei running into him are next to-"
But as Yusei drove outside, he suddenly heard a voice he was not expecting to hear so soon. "Yusei!"
Yusei immediately recognized the voice and stopped in his tracks. Once he took of his helmet, he got a good look at his old friend turned adversary. "…Hello Jack."
Weiss resembled a fish out of water. "…Or Jack can just go to him, I guess?"
"How did Jack find him so quickly?" Pyrrha asked, surprised to see Yusei's would be rival so soon. "Because him being this close to Yusei's exit-point cannot be a coincidence."
Ren came up with a theory. "Maybe Sector Security informed Jack about Yusei's escape-attempt and then Jack told them not to ambush Yusei once he got out so that he could confront Yusei himself."
"Why would he do that?" Nora asked curiously.
"I guess Jack decided to confront his past rather than run away from it." Jaune unintentionally took a stab at Bake, who flinched at Jaune's sentence.
"Who cares why he decided to come!" Yang said angrily. "Now Yusei can finally teach that thief/back-stabber a lesson!"
It was indeed Jack standing on a bridge above Yusei. Jack laughed upon seeing his former comrade from the Satellite and said "Long time no see. How've you been?" Jack then laughed some more. "What's the matter Yusei? Aren't you happy to see your old friend Jack?"
The screen shows a shot of Jack and Yusei glaring at each other intensely before going dark.
"Agh, dang it!" Nora shouted before crossing her arms. "I hate cliffhangers."
"Well I guess we know who Yusei's gonna duel next time." Yang said as she also couldn't wait for the next episode to play. "I can't wait for Yusei to put Jack in his place."
Ruby was also excited for the next episode. "It's great Yusei finally managed to get out of the Satellite but it will probably be awhile before we see Rally and the others again." She then turned to team JNPR. "So what did you guys think of the show?"
"I say it's pretty good." Jaune admitted. "It got a little dark with what happened to Trudge at the end but other than that it was pretty fun to watch."
"I thought it was pretty good as well." Pyrrha admitted. "The concept might be a little out there but the action and characters more than made up for it. It actually got me interested in playing this game myself… without riding a motorcycle of course."
"Aw, but that was the best part!" Nora pouted. "But yeah, this show's pretty great! I can't wait for the next episode!"
Ren simply nodded in approval.
"Great you all liked it." Yang said hastily before turning to Saixus. "Now start the next episode already! I wanna see Jack get his just-deserts!"
"Very well." Saixus said before aiming the remote at the screen. "Episode 4, here we come."
So ends the third episode of RWBY react to Yu-Gi-Oh 5d's. It was a pretty good chase-episode but next time we'll have the first part of A Blast To The Past, starring Yusei's and Jack's first duel in the series.
I assume nobody was really surprised team JNPR were the first ones who joined our Yu-Gi-Oh 5d's marathon. I may bring in more RWBY characters in the future, but we'll stick with this set-up for now.
Thank you all for your interest in my story.
This is MasterSaixus, signing off.
