RWBY Reacts to Yu-Gi-Oh 5d's Dubbed

Episode 5 – A Blast From The Past PART 2

SPOILER–WARNING!

This chapter contains spoilers for RWBY VOLUME 8. I advise you first watch all the aired episodes (At least up to episode 4) before reading this chapter.

You have officially been warned.

"ZWEI!" Ruby yelled as she was currently doing a tag of war with the corgi. "Let go of Stardust already! You're gonna tear the leg off!"

Zwei responded to Ruby's outcry by growling some more.

"Huh, never seen Zwei so aggressive before." Yang said and she should know. She's known the dog his entire life after all. "Wonder what brought this on?"

"I think it's pretty obvious." Jaune said in a deadpanned-tone.

"L-Let go Zwei!" Ruby grunted.

"GRrrrr!" Growled Zwei as he continued to bite on the dragon's leg.

"Wow, either Ruby needs to focus on her muscles a bit more during training or that is one tough doggy." Nora said, impressed by Zwei's strength while subconsciously holding her Red Dragon Archfiend plushy tightly in case Zwei tried to bite it too.

"Both." Answered Yang.

Ruby glared at her older sister before finally managing to pull the Stardust plushy out of Zwei's mouth. "There! Now don't do that again Zwei! Otherwise I'll change my mind about giving you a gun-suit for your birthday!"

"You're gonna give him a WHAT?!" Blake asked in horror as she imagined to corgi running after her in a gun-suit similar to what Assault Dog was wearing in the first episode.

Yang thought it over and said "Hmm, that would actually be kind of cool."

Zwei looked at the angry face Ruby was currently giving him and instantly felt regret. You know you messed up when Ruby gives you the angry stare. Zwei whimpered while lowering his ears to show Ruby how sorry he was.

Ruby couldn't stay mad at the dog forever. "Aww, it's okay little buddy. You know no plushy could ever replace you! Now come and sit next to me, but no biting Stardust again, alright?"

Zwei barked in agreement as he jumped on the cough and positioned himself between Ruby and Weiss, the latter of which having absolutely no objections to Zwei laying so close to her while Blake moved a little closer to Yang, who also did not complain.

"Alright, can we start part 2 now?" Yang asked a little impatient.

Saixus, who had been watching something on his phone during the entire debacle, pressed pause before putting his phone away. "Sorry! I was going over the next volume real quick."

"Volume of what?" Blake asked curiously, thinking Saixus was reading a story on his phone.

"Oh nothing important." Saixus said with a smirk before taking out the remote. "Now, with that daily dose of cuteness out of the way, here's part 2!"

The screen lit up showing Yusei riding in front of Red Dragon Archfiend and Stardust Dragon while Jack drove in reverse to face him.

Weiss already let out a sigh and the episode had only just begun. "Please tell me he's not gonna drive backwards the entire duel."

"If I'm remembering correctly then no, he won't be driving backwards forever." Saixus answered the heiress.

"Good."

"When I offered to give you back your precious Stardust Dragon, you should have just taken it and run back home to the Satellite. But no, you just had to prove that you could hold your own with the master of faster!"

"Master of faster?" Pyrrha said with a look that yelled 'Seriously?'. "Is that really what he calls himself?"

"He called himself that in episode 1 so that title's probably here to stay." Blake answered.

"Well at least it rhymes." Nora said, having no problem with Jack's title.

"I'm gonna do more then hold my own Jack." Yusei answered back. "It's my turn! I summon Shield Warrior to the field in defense-mode!"

Shield Warrior showed up on Yusei's field and quickly moved into a defensive stance with his 1600 defense-points.

"And next I'll also switch my Junk Warrior into defense-mode." Yusei declared as Junk Warrior crossed his arms and turned blue. His points changed from 2300 attack-points to 1300 defense-points. "With that done I'm placing one card face-down. It's you're move, old buddy."

"That's it?" Nora was disappointed. "Why didn't he try and power up Junk Warrior again?"

"He probably doesn't have any monster low-level enough to use Junk Warrior's effect on or the ones he does have can't give Junk Warrior enough of a power-boost." Ren theorized.

"Then it's best he decided to play it safe." Weiss voiced out as she was rubbing Zwei's belly, much to the dog's delight. "At least with two monsters in defense-mode he should be safe from those dragons. For this turn at least."

Jack questioned Yusei's strategy. "Leaving both monsters in defense-mode? You gotta get aggressive if you wanna win. But then again I shouldn't be surprised. You never were much of a fighter."

Jack then drove forward and rode past Yusei, causing the two to exchange glances with one another.

"What's Jack doing now?" Jaune questioned.

"It seems that he's decided to drive behind Yusei instead of in front of him." Pyrrha observed.

"Oh thank Oum." Weiss said immediately. "Now he won't have to drive backwards anymore."

Back at Sector Security HQ, Lazar stated his opinion on the situation. "We must end this charade. If the paparazzi finds Jack dueling some Satellite, his reputation will be ruined."

"Wow, people from the city really don't like foks from the Satellite, do they?" Nora asked.

"That's an understatement." Yang replied before seeing her partner shoot the angriest stare she could muster at the screen. "…I'm guessing this hits a little close to home, doesn't it?"

Blake didn't reply while Weiss thought back to some celebrities and businessmen that she used to know whose reputations got dragged through the mud simply because they had no problem hanging around with Faunus. One picture of them together on a magazine and BANG, gone is your entire career.

Add that to the list of things she wanted to change if she ever took over the Schnee Dust Company.

Jack turned around to follow Yusei again as his turn began. "Haven't you learned Yusei? You can't just cower and hide and hope to survive. And here's prove! Red Dragon Archfiend can wipe out all your monsters in defense-mode. So say goodbye to your little friend! Go Absolute Power Force!"

With one strike from Archfiend's flaming claw, Junk Warrior got wiped from the field. But he wasn't the only one as flames suddenly erupted underneath of Shield Warrior, causing him to get destroyed too.

Pyrrha flinched at seeing both monsters getting destroyed. "Did Archfiend really cause Yusei's other monster to get destroyed as well?"

Saixus nodded to confirm. "It's Red Dragon Archfiend's special-ability. If it attacks a monster in defense-mode, all other monsters your opponent has in defense-mode get roasted after the battle ends."

"But then Yusei has nothing left to protect himself with!" Ruby yelled in worry.

"Seriously Yusei, didn't you learn anything back in the schoolyard (The GX-theme went through Saixus' head real quick.), when those mean, mean bullies would come around and threaten you and your little auto-shop pals for your lunch money? What did not fighting back ever get you? A black eye and an empty stomach, that's what!"

While Yang didn't WANT to agree with Jack, she had to admit he had a point. "Yeah, it's like Blake said before, if you just allow bullies to walk all over you, they're never gonna leave you alone."

"Wish I knew that at the beginning of the year..." Jaune muttered silently to himself.

Jack continued. "Didn't you sneak out of the Satellite to get even with me? I mean if you came here to throw down or whatever, why are you acting like that scared kid from the playground?"

'It's called strategy.' Yusei thought to himself.

"Seems like Yusei has a plan in mind." Ren noted.

"Well it better be a good one." Nora hoped. "Because this next hit's gonna be big!"

"Well now that you've got no monster on your field, Stardust Dragon can swoop right in and attack you directly. Hope this doesn't hurt too much!"

"Sure you don't." Yusei sarcastically replied.

Stardust Dragon let out a mighty roar before firing what appeared to be stardust directly at Yusei, causing his life-points to fall to a measly 500 while his speed-counters decreased from 6 to 4.

While Ruby was more than a little sad to see Stardust Dragon attack Yusei like that, she had to admit "Whoa, that attack was so pretty!"

"Death by glitter…" Yang said slowly. "That's a new one."

Yusei struggled with his Duel-Runner for a second before speeding off again, keeping the lead over Jack.

Jack could just taste the irony in the air. "So the monster that used to be yours, the one you came here to get back from me, is now the one taking you down. I'm sure if you ever thought that this would have happened, you never would have crawled out of that dump you call home!"

"Mister Atlas is fabulous." Mina complemented like a fangirl. "He's controlling both of those dragons with incredible skill."

Weiss did not like her comment. "Oh no… please tell me this isn't going where I think it's going."

"Yep." Yang said every bit as unenthusiastic as Weiss. "Looks like Mina has the hots for Atlas… somehow."

Lazar raised his hands in a manner of 'I told you so'. "Well what else did you expect from the best?"

'If what I hope happens, a whole lot more.' Goodwin thought cryptically to himself.

"What are you waiting for Yusei?" Jack questioned as he was getting impatient. "You do know it's your turn right? How come you haven't made a move in two laps? Thinking of giving up?"

"Not a chance!" Yusei replied as he drew his next card. "I summon Sonic Chick in defense-mode."

Sonic Chick appeared besides Yusei and started running, keeping up with the fast vehicle.

"…A chicken…" Jaune said baffled. "That's... unexpected."

"I wonder what it tastes like." Nora said to no one in particular.

AI. "When Sonic Chick battles an opponent's monster that has 1900 or more attack-points, it cannot be destroyed."

"Well at least that chicken can keep Yusei save for a while." Pyrrha noted.

Blake however didn't think so. "Remember Red Dragon Archfiend's special-ability? Saixus said it activates after it attacks, so even if its original attack can't destroy Sonic Chick-"

"It's special-ability will!" Ruby finished.

"Just like back at school." Jack reminisced. "You waste all your time hanging out with chickens."

"Well at least I know this chicken isn't going to double-cross his best friend and then scurry away in the middle of the night." Yusei shot back.

Yang laughed at that burn. "Wow. Yusei basically said that his chicken's a better person then Jack is. Good one!"

Yusei continued. "In fact, this chicken's sticking around for the long hall. Now I place a card face-down. You're up."

Jack smirked while increasing his Duel-Runners speed so he could catch up to Yusei. "Let me ask you something Yusei. How do you think this duel of ours is gonna end? Let's kid ourselves and say that you actually have a chance at outdueling me, and let's say you somehow manage to win. Then what are you gonna do? You haven't really thought this little revenge fantasy through, have you?"

"No." Weiss agreed with the champion. "No he has not."

"Well let me tell you what is gonna happen." Jack said as he began his next turn. "You're gonna lose this duel, and then I'm gonna press a little button on my runner, at which point an entire Security team will arrest you and ship you off to the Facility! So much for revenge."

"So even if Yusei wins, he still has to go to prison?" Nora questioned with a frown. "That's not fair at all!"

"Maybe he can race out of there before Security gets to him?" Ruby proposed hopefully.

Ren however, shook his head. "All exits are likely already blocked off by Security at this point. I hate to say it, but Yusei's quest for payback will likely end with him behind bars."

"Well I have fate in him!" Ruby stated confidently but the way she was anxiously holding Stardust gave her away.

"And speaking of you losing, Red Dragon Archfiend attack Sonic Chick!" Jack ordered and the dragon obeyed by flying closer to Sonic Chick.

Red Dragon Archfiend's claw was surrounded in fire once more as he struck Sonic Chick full force. However, a barrier suddenly appeared around Sonic Chick due to its special-ability.

Jack however knew that would happen. "Too bad buddy, your little chickety special-ability will get trumped by the power of my Red Dragon Archfiend. Remember, it can wipe the field clean of any monsters you have in defense-mode. I told you Yusei, you've gotta get aggressive. Like this!"

Flames erupted from underneath Sonic Chick, seemingly turning the monster into ash. Suddenly however, the flames scattered away from Sonic Chick, much to Jack's frustration.

Jaune was confused. "Wait what? Wasn't that chicken supposed to get destroyed by Red Dragon's ability?"

"Yusei must have saved Sonic Chick using one of his face-downs." Blake speculated.

The viewers at HQ, aside from Goodwin, were just as confused as our guests.

"What just happened?" Lazar asked in bewilderment. "That chicken was supposed to get fried!"

'I wonder if that chicken would have turned into a drumstick…' Nora and Yang thought at the same time.

"Always thinking, aren't you Yusei." Jack said in frustration.

"It's what I do best." Yusei pat himself on the back. "I'm just surprised you didn't remember this classic from back when we dueled for fun."

A giant trap-card appeared besides Yusei with the picture of a hand pressing a detonator while a dragon-like creature was exploding in the background.

Seeing the card made Jack remember. "Oh yeah, you're Remote Revenge trap-card. I forgot you had that."

"It seems there's a lot you forgot about Jack so here's a little refresher course on what this trap can do." Yusei stated before he started explaining his trap. "First it deflects your attack, but that deflection is just the beginning. Once it does that, it destroys every monster on your field in attack-mode. And aren't both your dragons in attack-mode? So how's that for getting aggressive!"

"Oh yeah!" Yang cheered. "About time Yusei made a comeback!"

"Did he really have to explain what that trap did though?" Weiss asked a bit annoyed. "I mean, I'm glad he explained it so that we know what it does, but Jack recognized the card immediately. Was there really a need to-"

"Yusei probably assumed Jack had forgotten." Ruby cut Weiss off. "It has been a while since these two dueled each other after all."

The fire Red Dragon Archfiend shot at Sonic Chick earlier reappeared before launching itself toward Jack's dragons.

"You have a thing with revenge, don't you?" Jack noted, but saw a hole in Yusei's plan. "Too bad for you. Just like your attempt to get revenge on me, this attack is gonna fail miserably. Cuz Stardust Dragon's taking one for the team!"

Stardust Dragon suddenly moved itself in front of the pillar of fire, protecting Red Dragon Archfiend from harm.

"Huh?!" Ruby was surprised by Stardust taking the hit for Archfiend. "What just happened?!"

"Stardust just flew in front of Archfiend to protect him." Jaune summarized. "But how?"

"I guess Stardust Dragon has a special-ability of its own." Pyrrha worked out.

"That's one of Stardust Dragon's special-abilities." Jack explained as if to confirm Pyrrha's suspicion. "If you activate a card with the power to destroy all my monsters, Stardust Dragon can save all the others by sacrificing itself."

Yang stared deadpanned at the screen. "…I'm pretty sure Yusei knows what that dragon does Jack. After all, you did kind of, you know, STOLE IT FROM HIM!"

"So Stardust's ability prevents his allies from getting destroyed at the cost of itself." Blake summarized. "That's a pretty noble ability."

"And it's the complete opposite of Red Dragon Archfiend's ability." Pyrrha said while in deep thought. "Were once power is focused on destruction, the other's centered around protection."

"Kind of like with semblances!" Nora pointed out, catching the others attention. "For instance, while my Semblance gives me a super power-boost, Ren's Semblance makes him invisible to Grimm."

"Guess there are as many different monster-effects as there are Semblances." Jaune said, feeling a little irked that he hadn't unlocked his own Semblance yet.

"How's it feel knowing you destroyed your favorite beast?" Jack taunted as Stardust Dragon started to turn into yellow dust. "So much for Stardust Dragon. But I guess it had to go down like that in order for Red Dragon to stay on the field." He then turned around to watch Stardust Dragon disappeared and realized something. "Hey does that remind you of another situation Yusei? Think about it. This is like how I had to step on you in order to escape the Satellite."

"Dude, we get it, you're a backstabbing jackass. Next topic!" Yang said out loud.

Yusei did not respond to that comment as everything was still going exactly as he planned.

Back at HQ, Lazar was enjoying the show. "Mister Atlas appears to be toying with this burglar. I do love his playing style."

"Is anyone else getting annoyed by this guy?" Blake asked and multiple hands shot up.

"Now I place two cards face-down." Jack proceeded to do so. "And with that done, I think I'll bring back MY Stardust Dragon so you can get another peak at it for old times' sake."

The viewers were certainly surprised by this.

"Wait, Stardust Dragon's coming back?" Jaune asked for the group.

Saixus nodded to confirm. "Yep, at the end of the turn Stardust Dragon used its special-ability, it gets summoned back from the graveyard as if nothing happened."

"Oh come on!" Yang complained. "I thought Yusei was done having to fight his own monster. Now he's right back where he started!"

"Now take a long hard look Yusei. Cuz after this duel, you're never gonna see it again!" Jack claimed as Stardust Dragon reappeared on the field. "Maybe you'll even get another chance to destroy the very beast you're trying to win back from me? You know Yusei, with friends like you, who need enemies?"

Yang's desire to punch Jack continued to rise while she and the others resisted the urge to call him a giant hypocrite.

"And with both dragons back on my field, it looks as though this battle of ours has come full circle, hasn't it?" Jack smirked in absolute confidence.

However, a smile suddenly appeared on Yusei's face. "Actually, not quit Jack."

Nora got excited by Yusei's sudden smile. "Alright, time to see what Yusei was up to!"

Jack's smirk of confidence suddenly turned into a confused frown.

"I activate my trap-card!" Yusei declared as a trap-card appeared beside him with the picture of a woman with blonde hair, wearing an elegant white dress while holding a giant mirror. "Harmonia Mirror!"

The woman on the card appeared on the field and aimed her mirror at Stardust Dragon, causing Jack's eyes to widen.

Yusei started to explain. "Check this out. Because you just summoned Stardust Dragon to your field using a method other than the usual synchro-summon, I can use the power of Harmonia Mirror to get Stardust fighting on my side instead."

Now this was a welcome piece of news. "Wait… then that means-"

"Yusei's getting Stardust back!" Ruby interrupted Jaune as she tossed her Stardust Dragon plushy in the air. "He finally got his dragon back, woohoo!"

"He planned this…" Weiss realized as her eyes widened, catching the attention of those around her. "He knew there was a chance Jack was gonna use Stardust Dragon against him, so he put that trap-card in his deck for this exact situation!"

"Really?" Ren asked. "Cuz that was impressive foresight if he did."

"You sure it wasn't just a coincidence he had that card in his deck?" Jaune asked a little skeptical.

"Summoning synchro-monsters without using a synchro-summon is… not something that happens all that often." Saixus told them. "If Yusei did have that card in his deck all the time, he would rarely be able to use it. However, Stardust Dragon getting summoned back by its own ability does not count as a synchro-summon."

"And since Stardust Dragon used to be Yusei's, he would most certainly know this." Weiss pointed out further.

"Whoa, Yusei's almost just as good a strategist as Jaune." Pyrrha stated which caused Jaune to get an embarrassed smile on his face.

"Welcome back old friend." Yusei said as Harmonia Mirror lit up and made Stardust Dragon disappear.

Jack kept his cool. "That's no biggy. It's like I said earlier, I don't need it. I was merely using it to try and make this duel more interesting."

"Well you did Jack, and now I'm gonna rev things up with my Stardust Dragon!" Yusei declared while holding his hand in the air, as Stardust Dragon suddenly appeared on Yusei's side of the field.

"Finally back home." Yang said with a smile.

Ruby smiled too but her eyes had a bit of liquid coming out of them. "(Sniff) Reunions are always so heartwarming."

"You do remember it's just a card, righ-" Ren asked but got shushed by Nora.

"Don't ruin the moment."

Jack had to admit "Not bad Yusei. Maybe you have learned a thing or two since our days together in the Satellite. So now we've got Red Dragon Archfiend versus Stardust Dragon, in a fight to the finish!"

Jack's dragon apparently agreed as he let out a threatening roar against Stardust Dragon, who replied by giving him a roar of his own.

"It's time for some dragon-wrestling!" Nora shouted out in excitement.

Ruby was equally excited. "Yeah, this is gonna be awesome!"

"He may have gotten Stardust Dragon back, but it's still weaker than Jack's monster." Ren fell the need to point out again. "This battle is still far from over."

"But with that dragon back on his side, he certainly has a better chance at winning." Weiss countered. "Besides, like I said earlier, Yusei likely has a dozen strategies he can use now that he has Stardust back."

"Looks like we finally get a chance to see whose dragon is mightier Yusei." Jack stated as Red Dragon Archfiend flew above him while Stardust Dragon was above Yusei.

"It's kind of funny how Yusei's riding on the red runner but has the white dragon while Jack's riding a white runner but has the red dragon." Ruby pointed out.

"Color-coordinated rivalry for the win!" Nora shouted with her fists in the air.

"And you'll finally get the chance to see the duelist that I've become." Yusei replied. "Remember that talk you gave after you beat me in our last duel?"

Jack grunted but he did remember.

Flashback to Yusei's last duel with Jack.

"Did he… just lose?" Rally asked in shock.

Jack started to approach Yusei and said "He did, and do you know why our friend just lost? Because his deck has no balance. And without balance, one cannot be a complete duelist. But you know that already, don't you Yusei?"

Back in the present.

Pyrrha understood what Jack was trying to say. "So he told Yusei that he had to use his head a bit more while dueling. That's not bad advice."

Ruby admitted that Pyrrha was right but added "Maybe, but he could have said it a bit friendlier."

"Well I didn't want to admit it but you were right that day." Yusei confessed as he clenched his left-hand into a fist. "Those words hurt, but they taught me a valuable lesson."

"Oh really Yusei?" Jack asked slightly interested. "And what did they teach you?"

"That in order to be the best I can be, I have to believe in the power of every card in my deck!" Yusei stated proudly. "And ever since that day, I've thought about that duel we had over and over again. Trying to implement new strategies and combinations that I would have never thought possible."

"...It's good that he decided to improve himself but that sounds borderline obsessive." Blake said knowing a thing or two about obsessing over something herself.

"Well Yusei, actions speak louder than words." Jack quoted. "So let's just see what that deck of yours is capable off!"

"You got it Jack." Yusei replied. "And with Stardust Dragon on my field, the sky's the limit!"

Stardust Dragon let out another roar and Red Dragon Archfiend once again responded in kind.

"I swear, those dragons are as eager to fight as their owners." Jaune pointed out.

"You're reading into it a bit too much." Weiss replied with crossed arms. "They're just holograms after all."

"This Satellite doesn't know when to quit, does he?" Lazar asked as he was getting a bit annoyed by Yusei's perseverance. He then got a sly smile on his face and said "Well perhaps… I should send in the Security-team to end this for him mister Good-"

Goodwin interrupted Lazar by raising his hand, indicating that he did not want Lazar to stop the duel yet. Lazar simply nodded but quickly smirked in interest. He's known Goodwin long enough to know there was more going on here than meets the eye.

"Can someone please tell me what Goodwin's waiting for?" Jaune asked impatiently. "Why doesn't he want Lazar to put a stop to this duel? What's he after?"

"It is a bit strange..." Pyrrha admitted as she started to think that whatever Goodwin was waiting for went further than Jack just learning a lesson.

Back at the duel, Jack started giggling to himself, which slowly turned into full-out laughter. "Let me get this straight. Now that you've got Stardust on your side, you actually think you have a chance at beating me? Well you don't. I'm the best. You'll never defeat me no matter how many Stardust Dragons you have on your field, got that? Now bring it on!"

"Jack's ego's climbing through the roof!" Nora stated.

"Good." Yang said in a malevolent tone. "That will only make his inevitable defeat all the sweeter."

"Yang, you're starting to scare me." Ruby said but Yang ignored her.

Yusei began his turn. "I got the green-light. And I activate my speed-spell, Silver Contrails!"

Once the speed-spell was played, a silver tornado appeared besides Yusei. The AI took over to explain. "Silver Contrails is a speed-spell that gives one wind-attribute monster on your field 1000 additional attack-points."

The silver winds engulfed Stardust Dragon and caused a shiny blue-aura to appear around the mighty beast. "Now because Stardust Dragon is a wind-attribute monster, he gets a power-boost!"

Stardust Dragon roared as his points climbed up to 3500.

"Yes! Now Stardust's the stronger monster!" Ruby cheered.

"Did that AI really needed to explain what that speed-spell did?" Pyrrha asked, feeling a bit annoyed. "I feel like Yusei's explanation was clear enough."

"Yeah, the AI can be a bit annoying at times." Saixus admitted. But hey, at least the AI helped him explain card-effects from time to time.

"It's time our beasts tussle!" Yusei declared. "Stardust isus Red Dragon Archfiend! Go Cosmic Flare!"

Stardust Dragon unleashed a powerful wave of Stardust particles at his former ally. Red Dragon Archfiend responded by crossing his arms and tanking the hit. However, as this was happening, Yusei's and Jack's right-arms suddenly started to hurt.

This of course did not go unnoticed by either duelist. "What's going on?" Yusei asked out loud. "Why's my arm hurting? What is this?"

"What the-?" Ruby was confused by this sudden turn of events. "Why are their arms suddenly hurting?"

The others shared Ruby's confusion. How could Yusei's and Jack's arm possible start hurting at the same time?

Blake however remembered a little detail about Jack's right-arm. "That's the arm Jack has that strange mark on."

"Mark?" Jaune asked confused. "What mark?"

"In the second episode, we saw that Jack has some weird symbol on his right-arm." Weiss explained. "Probably a tattoo of some sort."

"Then maybe his arm's hurting because he only got that tattoo recently?" Pyrrha theorized. "Tattoos do tend to hurt for a couple of days after getting them."

"That wouldn't explain why Yusei's arm's hurting though." Blake pointed out. The catgirl doubted Yusei had a tattoo there as well. He did not strike her as someone who had an interest in them.

Meanwhile, at the New Domino City reactor, the one thing was happening that you never want to happen with a reactor. It was starting to overload! Electricity was flying all over the place and the science team present didn't have a clue what was going on either!

Seeing the giant reactor overloading was more than enough to grab everyone's attention away from the duel.

"Wha-What's happening?!" Weiss shouted out loud. No way electricity coming out of the reactor this way was a good sign.

"Is the reactor overloading?!" Pyrrha asked as she saw her previous worries become reality.

"It sure seems that way." Ren said just as worried as everyone else.

"H-How is something like this even possible?!" Weiss screeched. "Reactors are supposed to have countermeasures against this sort of thing! Where's the overseer?!"

Said overseer was the scientist we saw before with Goodwin. He was staring at the reactor both in panic and amazement. "Oh, Ooooh! Amazing! Incredible! Fantastic! UOOH, AAH, OAAOOOH!"

Weiss could not believe what she was hearing. "THIS IS NO TIME TO BE IMPRESSED!"

"If only I was there!" Nora suddenly remarked. "I'd be able to absorb all that electricity before someone could get hurt!"

"Can you even absorb that much electricity?" Ruby asked curiously.

Nora thought about it for a second. "...Maybe not, but it would be worth the risk if it means preventing a generator from exploding. I mean, what's the worst that could happen?"

"You could have so much electricity flowing through your system that your muscles overload, your veins turn red and you lose consciousness." Saixus answered. "And that's before you come even CLOSE to absorbing all that energy."

"…That was oddly specific." Blake noted while Ren made a mental note to keep Nora away from city-powering generators.

Back at the duel, Red Dragon Archfiend managed to endure Stardust Dragon's attack, much to Yusei's disappointment.

"Sorry Yusei, better luck next time." Jack taunted, ignoring the pain in his arm.

Suddenly, for no apparent reason, Sonic Chick blew up into yellow-triangles.

Yusei was surprised by this sudden event. "What happened to Sonic Chick?"

"My Synchro Deflector trap-card happened! With this trap-card I can reflect an attack against a synchro-monster, and then use the energy to vaporize the monster on your field with the fewest attack-points." Jack revealed while Yusei grunted at his failed attack.

While the group was disappointed Yusei's attack failed, the malfunctioning generator gained priority at the moment.

"Is there anything they can do to stop that generator from overloading?" Jaune asked the most tech-savvy member of the group.

"They would have to do an emergency shut-down to prevent any more damage but that could result in the entire city losing power." Ruby answered. "Still, that's way more preferable then the alternative."

"And by alternative, she means big explosion." Yang finished for her.

"How big would this explosion be?" Nora asked in part worry and part interest.

"Since we don't know all that much about the generator, it's difficult to tell." Ruby informed. "But if the generator is indeed strong enough to power the whole city, the explosion will likely be massive!"

"And now that you've attacked, the effect of your Silver Contrails speed-spell wears off, which means your Stardust Dragon loses its precious power-boost." Jack stated as the blue-aura surrounding Stardust started to vanish, returning its attack-points back to normal.

"But it's still my turn Jack and I'm far from done!" Yusei claimed as he picked his next card to play. "So next, from my hand I summon Ghost Gardna in defense-mode."

A ghost-like creature appeared on Yusei's side with 1900 defense-points.

"Let's hope this new monster gives Yusei a ghost of a chance, hehe." Yang said with an awkward laugh as she tried to take some pressure off the group.

Which did not work for Weiss. "This is no time for your tasteless jokes Yang!"

"Hey my jokes aren't tasteless!" Yang rebutted before thinking her joke over. "Although I will admit, that wasn't one of my bests."

Jack could already tell what Yusei was up to. "Trying to protect your little dragon, are ya?"

"I place two cards face-down. You're move Jack." Yusei said but suddenly felt his right-arm hurting again. He looked at said arm and grunted.

Ruby twitched at seeing Yusei in pain. "His arm's still hurting?"

"Maybe he just has a cramp in his arm?" Jaune suggested.

"At the same time as Jack?" Blake asked, not buying that explanation for a second. "How big are those odds?"

"Not that big I bet." Yang said while rubbing her own right-arm. She didn't know why, but seeing Yusei's and Jack's arms in pain like that made her feel uncomfortable.

Back at HQ, a light started to flicker on a phone. "Incoming call, sir."

"Put it on speaker." Goodwin ordered. A virtual-screen popped up besides Goodwin, showing a live-feed to his director of engineering.

"You might want to find a large solid object. And then duck behind it!" The professor advised.

This got Goodwin's attention. "What are you talking about?"

"A major power-surge!" The professor explained. "It's out of control! If it keeps up, things are gonna get crazy!"

"THEN SHUT IT DOWN ALREADY!" Weiss shouted even though she knew the scientist couldn't hear her.

Ren didn't get why they hadn't done so already. "Surely they have some sort of protocol in place for situations like this?"

"Apparently, it's to call the head of Security first." Blake said before thinking it over. "Which makes a certain amount of sense. They could evacuate the immediate area in case an explosion becomes imminent."

Goodwin frowned at this news before giving orders to the scientist. "Record all your findings."

The scientist straightened himself and then bowed to Goodwin. "As you wish, sir." The screen then faded and Goodwin focused on the duel once more.

The viewers all stared wide-eyed at the screen with their mouths open. "...WHAAAAAAAAAAT?!"

"Th-That's your plan?!" Jaune stated loudly and in a panic. "Who cares about stuff like that when the reactor's about to blow!"

"W-Well that kind of info could be helpful to prevent something like this from happening again in the future..." Ruby meekly stated.

"They can check that data AFTER preventing a possible disaster!" Blake yelled loudly. "And is he seriously gonna focus on the game while there are lives at risk?!"

Weiss, who had been processing Goodwin's lack of orders felt her mind break. "…It's official, EVERYONE IN CHARGE OF THIS PLACE IS COMPLETELY INSANE!"

"Time to end this Yusei!" Jack claimed as he drew his next card, only for his drawing-arm to end up hurting again. Jack bit his teeth, but fought through the pain to look at his new card, and he was quite pleased by what he saw. He held off on the card for now and began his battle-phase. "I think Red Dragon Archfiend wants to attack Stardust Dragon!"

Red Dragon Archfiend roared as if to agree with Jack's statement. Jack pointed his finger in the air before pointing at his dragon's target. "Let's go! Red Dragon Archfiend, tear that Stardust Dragon apart! Go Scorching Crimson Flare!" Jack's dragon rushed with a flaming fist towards Stardust Dragon, only for Ghost Gardna to suddenly fly in and protect the white beast. "Hey Ghost Gardna, down in front!"

"Ghost Gardna's special-ability allows it to draw your monster's attention, and become the target of your attack! So Red Dragon Archfiend won't be attacking Stardust this time around. And after it gets destroyed-"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah I know!" Jack interrupted Yusei's exposition. "I watched you use Ghost Gardna plenty of times back in the Satellite. And this is the part where you tell me how, when Ghost Gardna gets destroyed, it can lower the attack-points of one of its opponents monsters by 1000 until the end of the turn. Did you seriously think I didn't know that was coming?"

"Well you also didn't think Yusei would remember what his Stardust Dragon could do so it's only fair Yusei gives you the same treatment." Yang pointed out in a deadpanned tone.

"And now Red Dragon is weaker than Stardust!" Ruby said happily. "The tide of battle has turned once again!"

Weiss could hardly believe these two. "Are you seriously focusing on their duel at a time like this?!"

"Well unless Sai-guy here teleports Nora to that generator, there's not much we can do." Yang reminded her.

"Yeah not gonna do that." Saixus quickly stated. "Not only because that would seriously mess with the flow of time, but also because, like I said before, it's unlikely Nora could absorb that much electricity in the first place."

Nora dismissed Saixus' skepticism. "Pffft, I can totally-"

Ren however, was on the intruder's side. "Nora, you know Saixus has a point. I remember quite a few times when you had to stop absorbing electricity because otherwise you would have overloaded your muscles."

"Oh come on Renny! I'm sure I can handle it!" Nora said with confidence. "I'll prove it! Let's go to a power-plant right now so I can-"

"Nora." Ren said with a frown that had a hint of worry in them. "I want you to promise me that you'll never try to absorb more electricity than you think you can handle."

Nora was about to rebuttal, but stopped once she saw the concern in Ren's eyes. "… All right, fine. I promise I won't absorb more energy then I think I can handle,"

"Good." Ren responded with a bit of relief.

Nora then whispered to herself. "-unless it's absolutely necessary."

'No! Not even if it's necessary!' Saixus wanted to say out loud, but then he'd have to tell them about volume 8 episode 3 and all the other future events like Pyrrha dying. Yeah, he wasn't gonna pull the pin on that grenade any time soon.

"Well did you know this was coming?" Yusei replied back as he activated a face-down. "I activate a trap-card. Counterattack Beacon,"

"Our school is a trap-card?" Nora asked confused, changing the serious topic completely.

Saixus went from having a concerned look on his face, to having his hand slam in it. "Wrong kind of beacon!"

"and it activates when one of your monsters attacks one of mine, and manages to destroy it in battle. Once this trap-card activates, it not only gives one of my monsters 500 more attack-points, it forces that same monster to attack even though it's not my turn!" Yusei finished explaining as Stardust Dragon's attack-points rose to 3000.

"Good strategy." Blake admitted. "Archfiend would have gotten his strength back once Jack's turn ended. Now Yusei's dragon has more than enough firepower to destroy it."

"And take out around half of Jack's remaining life-points in the process." Jaune noted.

Jack was intrigued. "Very interesting. So now Stardust has more attack-points then my dragon."

"That's right Jack." Yusei confirmed. "Can you see where this is going? Stardust Dragon, attaaAAARrrrg!" Yusei and Jack's arms started hurting again but Yusei fought through the pain. "Attack!"

Stardust got ready to strike but Jack had different plans. "Not bad Yusei, but not bad is not good enough. Not when I've got the Prideful Roar trap-card. For the low cost of 1000 life-points, I can give Red Dragon Archfiend 1300 more attack-points!"

Jack's life-points lowered to 900 while Red Dragon Archfiend attack-points rose to 3300.

"Dammit!" Yang said frustrated. "That's like, the third time in a row Jack managed to save Archfiend."

"It's worse than that." Pyrrha added. "Now Archfiend's strong enough again to defeat Stardust and Yusei's trap-card forces Stardust to attack."

"Shouldn't we be more concerned about Yusei's arm?" Ruby asked. "Cuz he sounded really hurt just now."

"It can't be a coincidence that both their arms started hurting at the same time." Blake pointed out again. "There must be some sort of reason..."

Jack's move caught Lazar by surprise. "Oh dear me. This is a risky strategy even for someone like Jack Atlas."

"Is it really?" Jaune asked, confused by Lazar's statement. "I mean, if Jack didn't use that trap then not only would he still have lost a 1000 life-points, he would have lost Red Dragon Archfiend as well."

"Yeah, this does seem like the best move Jack could have made." Pyrrha agreed.

"He's either very confident or very foolish, or maybe a little bit of both." Lazar said with a smirk. "But either way, this could end up embarrassing him."

"It's show time!" Jack declared as Red Dragon Archfiend let out a stream of fire at Stardust Dragon, who countered by shooting a stream of stardust against it. The result was two powerful attacks colliding with one another, neither seemingly capable of overpowering the other. Not long after they made contact however, the painful feeling in Yusei's and Jack's arms returned, stronger than before. Neither duelist could ignore the pain this time as they both stared at their respective limbs.

Somehow the combination of fire and stardust caused lightning-like energy to spark in the middle. The energy was shooting recklessly in all directions.

"Uhm is that supposed to happen?" Jaune couldn't help but ask.

Ruby was also confused. "You wouldn't think glitter and fire mixed together creates electricity."

"They don't." Nora said in a serious tone. She and Ren used to burn all kinds of stuff to stay warm. "Trust me, I know."

Back at the reactor, the electricity coming out of the generator increased even further. The man in charge had no idea how to respond and all he could do was twitch all his fingers while noises of awe continued coming out of his mouth.

"Stop having a mental-breakdown and do something already!" Weiss yelled at the TV.

Blake however managed to put the current events together and came to a sudden realization. "I'm... not entirely sure how, but I think Yusei's duel might be connected to the reactor's sudden power-surge." This grabbed the attention of the others in the room as Blake continued. "I know it sounds weird, but isn't it strange how the reactor started to overload shortly after Yusei's and Jack's arms started hurting? Not to mention that similar energy just came forth between their dragons attacks?"

"Oh please, their arms hurting at the same time is probably just a coincidence." Weiss dismissed. "As for the lightning? Likely just a malfunction in the hologram-projectors."

"I don't know Weiss." Yang backed her partner up. "That seems like way too big a coincidence."

"Maybe but Weiss does have a point." Ren jumped into the conversation. "The pain in Jack and Yusei's arms shouldn't have any kind of effect on a generator. Neither would two holographic dragons attacking each other."

Before the argument could continue, Ruby saw what was happening on TV. "Guys look! Something weird's happening again!"

The energy between Stardust Dragon and Red Dragon Archfiend's attacks started growing bigger and bigger until it eventually exploded, causing both dragons to be blown back while a strange red substance appeared in the air.

"Wait, Stardust survived?" Jaune asked confused. "But Archfiend had more attack-points. How's Stardust still around?"

"And what's with all the red stuff floating around?" Nora asked as said red stuff practically surrounded Stardust Dragon.

"T-That's likely just another hologram malfunction." Weiss tried to dismiss but even she started to see that something weird was going on.

"What's going on?" Jack asked but wasn't referring to the strange red spots. "That attack should have destroyed Stardust Dragon. Red Dragon Archfiend has more attack-points, it's more powerful!"

"Shouldn't he also be questioning the red spots floating about or does he not see those?" Ruby asked.

"He's so focused on the game that he likely hasn't noticed yet." Blake surmised. "Either that or like Weiss, he's simply assuming that they are some sort of strange hologram malfunction."

"Well what else can it possibly be?!" Weiss questioned frantically as she simply couldn't think of another explanation.

Jack received his answer once he saw a massive virtual copy of the card Shield Warrior appear besides Yusei, who he was now riding next to. "Shield Warrior? You can't play that card. I send that to your graveyard!"

"Which is just where its special-ability can activate!" Yusei revealed. "All I got to do is remove it from play and then I can use its power to save a monster from being destroyed. But don't worry Jack, your dragon's attack still hits me for 300 life-points." He said as if his life-points dropping to 200 was a consolation prize. "And I'm pretty sure Prideful Roar's effect wears off after an attack, so Red Dragon Archfiend's back to its original power-level."

"That's the second time Yusei managed to save Stardust this turn." Jaune mentioned.

Yang smirked and said "Guess Stardust Dragon should count his lucky… stars, right?"

Everyone in the room groaned at Yang's failed comedy attempt.

Jack's turn was not over yet, and he had one last trick up his sleeves. "I can still finish you, with a speed-speUUAAARGH! Not again!"

Yusei was in the same predicament as Jack. "UuaaARGH! What is with this pain in my arm? What keeps causing it?! Huh?!"

To Yusei's absolute astonishment, his right-arm was suddenly glowing red.

His astonishment was shared by everyone else in the room, save for Saixus.

Yusei asked the only question he could possibly ask at this moment. "What the, why is my arm glowing?"

"Hey Yusei, you doing this?" Jack asked as he tried to make sense of his mark suddenly glowing.

"Okay what on Remnant is going on here?!" Weiss yelled, having enough of all these strange events that kept happening one after another. "Why are their arms suddenly glowing?!"

"This is getting really weird!" Ruby said as she started hugging Stardust and Zwei at the same time.

Blake took notice of Jack's mark. "It… looks like Jack's tattoo's glowing but… I don't understand how that's possible."

"Maybe it's just a glow-in the dark tattoo." Nora proposed.

"Then it must be a pretty bright one if it can shine through Jack's sleeve like that." Jaune pointed out.

"Professor, the reactor has reached its max!" A random scientist at the reactor yelled. "This place is gonna blow!"

Once again, the man in charge could only respond in excited/terrified noises.

Weiss face-palmed at the overseer's lack of orders. "Worst, director of engineering, EVER!"

All the red energy floating around Stardust and Archfiend started to come together, creating a massive red-colored dragon that Goodwin looks at in surprise.

At first the reactors assumed that this new dragon was just another card that either Yusei or Jack played, but the next lines eliminated that assumption.

Yusei asked the obvious question. "What is that?!"

"What kind of trick is this Yusei! What are you trying to pull?!" Jack accused Yusei as the dragon's bone-like wings started to take shape as well as its tail. It then let out a prideful roar, very unlike the roars of the other dragons.

"Can someone please explain what's going on already?!" Ruby yelled, genuinely confused. "Why is there suddenly a new dragon on the field? Who played that one?!"

"Given Yusei's and Jack's confused reactions, I don't think either of them played that monster." Blake said to the group.

Pyrrha agreed. "Their reactions definitely don't seem faked but then… where did this beast come from?"

Weiss wanted to dismiss is as another hologram-failure, but this new monster looked WAY to elaborate to be a simple malfunction.

Jack and Yusei were agasp by this dragon's unexpected appearance as their eyes suddenly turned red.

Weiss really had enough of all the unexplainable stuff that was happening. "First their arms glow red, now their eyes?!"

"If I didn't know any better, I'd say those two just activated their Yang-like semblances." Nora said as a joke.

If that was the case, Yang had absolutely no problem with Yusei having a semblance like hers. Jack though… yeah that was a big no no.

Back at HQ, Lazar and Mina both gasped at seeing the massive beast on screen while Goodwin looked as if he had just received an early Christmas present. 'Incredible.'

Pyrrha took notice of this. "Seems there's at least one person who knows what's going on."

"That is not necessarily a good thing." Blake replied, narrowing her eyes at the director.

The new dragon let out another roar but this one caused the wind around Yusei and Jack to pick up, making it difficult to keep driving.

"Did-Did that dragon just conjure up a storm?!" Jaune asked in shock.

Weiss' mind was officially blown. "But-But that's impossible! These dragons are only holograms! They shouldn't be able to make harsh weather appear out of nowhere!"

"I don't think those two are playing pretend." Ren pointed out. Jack and Yusei were definitely struggling against the harsh winds. "They should stop their duel before one of them gets hurt."

Nora didn't need to be a genius to know that wouldn't happen. "Yeaaah, I don't think Jack's gonna agree with that."

"I don't know what I'm looking at!" The head-scientist at the reactor admitted on a call to his boss. "The core-reactor is going crazy! See, space and time are bending in directions I never imagined possible! Atoms are smashing into each other, quantum particles are colliding in unstable ways!"

"WHAT KIND OF REACTOR IS THIS?!" Ruby and Weiss shouted at the same time, the former with a look that craved knowledge while the later was one of total panic.

"Whose dragon is that?!" Jack asked as he and Yusei continued to struggle on their runners. Jack jumped to the conclusion that Yusei had to be responsible somehow and was having none of it. "I'll teach you to play tricks with me! I activate a speed-spell, End Of Storm!"

Pyrrha was absolutely dumbstruck by Jack's recklessness. "Does he seriously wanna continue at a time like this?!"

"Okay it's official, Jack is WAY more reckless then Yang." Blake announced and nobody argued with her, not even Yang.

Yusei was stunned by Jack's foolishness. "What are you thinking?! We gotta stop!"

"Listen to him!" Ruby frantically yelled.

"No way Yusei!" Was Jack's simple reply.

Ruby's face fell into Stardust and Zwei. Blake was right, Jack's stubbornness surpassed that of her sister's.

Yusei decided that if Jack was gonna continue the duel, then he simply had to end it. "Alright fine. But I think we're gonna regret this. I activate my trap-card-"

Yusei never got the chance to announce which trap he just activated as the raging winds caused both Yusei and Jack to get blown off course.

"YUSEI!" All the viewers yelled in worry while Saixus simply conjured up another cola for himself.

Stardust Dragon and Red Dragon Archfiend both had their wings in front of them and their heads down as if they were bowing in submission to the crimson-colored beast. Lightning channeled through the dragon as it let out another roar.

At the reactor, the electricity was starting to intensify. There was a bright flash-

"IT'S GONNA BLOW!" Ruby shouted as she and her fellow students held their hands over their eyes because of the flash.

-which quickly disappeared along with all the electricity.

The others opened their eyes and saw that the reactor was still in one piece. They all let out sighs of relief, glad they wouldn't have to see a massive disaster.

"Huh?" Said the overseer confused.

Suddenly the TV in the office turned off, catching Lazar and Mina by surprise. "Ah! Who turned out the lights?"

"Weren't you listening when that scientist said the reactor was overloading?" Pyrrha questioned the small man's short-term memory.

Yang agreed with the red-head. "Yeah, you don't need to be a genius to figure out what happened."

Goodwin had a serious expression on his face as he thought 'The mighty beast has emerged from its slumber.'

"Oh he definitely knows what's going on here." Blake stated with narrowed eyes.

Just when Weiss thought the craziness was finally over, Goodwin just had to think that line. "Wait, he… he's not saying that that red dragon was actually… real… right?"

"It… does sound like it." Ren said every bit as surprised as Weiss. "But… I thought there weren't any real monsters in this world?"

Saixus was half tempted to say 'When did I say that?' but decided to wait a little longer before dropping that bomb.

Lights started going out all over the city, but it didn't last long for HQ as the electricity suddenly turned back on.

"Oh! Looks like we've switched to the back-up generator." Lazar realized while Mina pressed some buttons on a screen next to her.

"Hopefully their headquarters isn't the only place with a back-up generator." Pyrrha said in worry. "I mean, what if there's no electricity at the hospitals too?"

"Well… better the lights go out for a while then a giant reactor exploding." Yang reasoned. "Especially one that can apparently mess with space and time."

"HOW DO YOU WORK?!" Ruby said with childlike perplexity.

Mina then turned to Goodwin and said "We've lost all visuals' sir."

'I've seen all I need to see.' Goodwin thought as he couldn't care less who won the duel.

The crimson dragon let out a final roar before soaring high and expanding his full wing-span into the night sky. And just as quickly as it appeared, it disappeared into red glitter.

"Okay, you cannot tell me that nobody saw that, right?" Jaune asked even though he saw nobody around the arena.

"Even if there were some passerbys, they would likely just dismiss it for a normal hologram." Blake reasoned while Weiss was still not sure what to think about any of this.

Back on the ground, Yusei's Duel-Runner was shown to be blowing out smoke as if Yusei had lost the duel.

"WHAT?!" Yang bolted off her seat. "Don't tell me Yusei lost?!"

"I think we have more urgent questions then figuring out who won a grudge-match!" Weiss rebutted.

But then Jack's runner was shown to also be venting like crazy.

"Jack's ride's down too!" Ruby observed. "Does that mean their duel was a draw?"

"They could also simply be venting because they've crashed." Ren worked out.

Neither Yusei nor Jack were visible at the moment, but the course they were on looked like it had seen better days. Especially the pavement, that had somehow gone upwards.

Weiss needed an aspirin. "How… is that even possible! That's the kind of damage a Grimm could do! How can wind-"

"Weiss, I think you need to calm down a bit." Ruby stated, once again worried about Weiss' mental-health.

Jack was the first to stand up, breathing heavily while his right-arm continued to glow.

"What… was that?" Jack asked in a daze.

Yusei was shown next as he was sitting on the ground with his back against the glass-reeling. He let out a cry of pain before saying "It burns!"

Pyrrha was glad both Yusei and Jack seemed alright, but Yusei's sudden yell of pain raised her distress. "Someone needs to take those two to a hospital!"

"How would they even begin to explain this? 'Yeah hello? Playing a card game has cost us both to become severely injured. Can we come by real quick?'" Yang joked around while the writer was wondering if he should lay down on the abridged jokes.

Then he remembered the interludes he was working on and immediately shot that idea down.

Yusei then took a closer look and took off his glove, revealing a red-glowing mark on his skin. "Where did this come from?!"

"If I suddenly had a shining tattoo on my arm and don't remember how I got it, I would ask the same thing." Jaune admitted.

"And my answer would be that you must have gone to one heck of a party." Yang said as a joke.

Blake took a good look at the mark on Yusei's arm. "That looks like the same symbol we saw on that strange dragon's tail."

"So the marks and that dragon are connected somehow." Pyrrha noted. "But what does it all mean?"

Jack took notice of Yusei's mark and said "So it's not… just me."

Yusei turned to Jack and saw he too had a glowing symbol on his skin. "Jack, what's going on?" He stood up while Jack continued to stare at his mark. "Do you know what this is Jack?" Jack said nothing and Yusei took that as an answer. "You do, don't you."

"Wait, Jack knows what's going on here?" Jaune questioned.

"He at least seems to know something." Blake assumed. "But I don't think Jack's gonna share what he knows with Yusei."

Yang rolled her eyes in annoyance. "Great, when we actually NEED something to come out of his mouth, then he shuts up!"

Back at HQ, our favorite wacky scientist was giving Goodwin a field-report. "First the energy was all over the place. It broke all the counters. Then the generator went ballistic on itself and now it seems the particle-rotator has stopped rotating which means… well it means it's broken."

"Thank Oum the reactor didn't explode." Pyrrha said in relief. "That would have been much worse."

"Well Weiss? You still wanna know how that reactor works?" Yang asked the heiress who seemed to have calmed down thanks to Zwei, who she had been given a stress-hug.

Weiss let go of the corgi before answering Yang's question. "I will admit, I am still interested in how this reactor operates… but I think it's best we stick to dust-reactors for now."

"Just do whatever you have to do to get power back to the city." Goodwin ordered.

"Okay." The scientist replied with a bow before the screen turned off.

Jaune rubbed the back of his head. "Yeah, that's a pretty big downside to letting only a single reactor power your entire city. If it breaks, everything goes dark."

"Can you imagine if something like that were to happen with… I don't know, the heating-grid back in Mantle?" Nora unknowingly referenced.

"Don't even joke about that!" Weiss was the first to respond. "That would be an absolute disaster!"

"Is something like that even possible?" Jaune asked the heiress.

"Unless someone plants several explosives around them or turns them off deliberately, then no, it isn't." Weiss answered while Saixus looked away awkwardly.

Mina turned to Goodwin and asked "What about mister Atlas?"

Goodwin simply turned to Lazar who immediately understood what Goodwin wanted him to do and answered with a bow.

Yusei and Jack stared intensely at one another as the glow on both their arms started to vanish, but unlike Jack's mark, Yusei's disappeared completely.

"Hey Yusei's mark has vanished!" Ruby fell the need to point out.

Jack's continued silence did not calm Yusei down at all. "Jack, say something man. What's going on?"

Suddenly several bright lights were ignited as they shined down on Yusei and Jack. Said lights came from several dozens of Sector Security officers who were surrounding both Yusei and Jack. One guy spoke through a loudspeaker and said "You are in violation of code 30-6B, which states that no residence of Satellite may enter New Domino City. By order of the social-maintenance department, we are placing you under arrest. Do not try to run, we have you surrounded."

"IT'S THE COPS!" Yang and Nora yelled at the same time.

Yusei looked around and saw that he was indeed trapped. 'Oh man, I got no escape. But even if I did manage to get away, I still don't know what that thing on my arm was.'

The background music started to end as the screen fated to black, marking the end of episode 5.

"….Oh come- SERIOUSLY?!" Yang yelled loudly. "Again with the damn cliffhanger!"

"And a pretty big one too." Nora said to which Ren nodded in agreement. "Like, I have so many questions right now, I don't even know where to start!"

"I can't believe they arrested Yusei!" Ruby said while tightly hogging Stardust. "And after he just got Stardust Dragon back! He shouldn't have to go to prison, he did nothing wrong!"

Jaune agreed with Ruby. "And with everything that happened at the end of the duel, Yusei must be confused as heck."

"I'm confused as heck and we saw more than Yusei did!" Yang stated, referring to both the reactor and Goodwin watching the duel. "Not to mention we have no clue who won the duel either! That's the most important thing we need to figure out!"

"Really?" Weiss asked sarcastically. "After everything we just saw this episode, that's the thing you wonder most?"

Blake turned toward Saixus and said "I've noticed that you've been awfully quiet whenever we asked questions about this episode's events. I'm guessing you're trying not to spoil us."

"Good guess." Saixus answered as he turned to the others. "I did tell you guys that I used to watch this show a lot."

Yang quickly jumped in. "Wait, then you can tell us who won the duel!"

"And why that generator was overloading." Pyrrha put in.

"And why a giant dragon appeared out of nowhere or how it could conjure heavy winds." Weiss put in.

"And at what store Jack and Yusei got those awesome glow-in the dark tattoos!" Nora put in before the others looked at her with a deadpanned expression. "Hey, it's a legitimate question!"

"You're just gonna have to wait for the next episode because again, keeping spoilers to a minimum here." Saixus repeated which most people, like Blake, had no problem with while Yang and Weiss just scowled at having their respective questions be ignored. "Now, seeing as how we're done with this two-parter, I think now is a good time for our first interlude."

"Interlude?" Ruby asked with a tilted head.

"More on that in a minute." Saixus ensured her. "First I have two more guests to bring here."

"You're gonna bring more people in here?" Weiss asked with a scowl. "Our room is already packed as is!"

"No it isn't." Saixus responded before snapping his fingers and making a two-seat couch appear at his left, on which two full-grown man were present. "See? Still plenty of room left."

The two man blinked at the sudden change of scenery before one of them said "…I really need to stop drinking before going to sleep."

And that's another chapter down. Yusei's duel with Jack comes to an end and the main-story finally reveals itself. We also have 2 new characters joining our group. The first one seems pretty obvious but you can always guess who the second one will be.

SPOILER WARNING FOR RWBY VOLUME 8!

On another note, I've been watching the new volume of RWBY and so far I think it's been fine. The thing I've hated most so far was Ironwood being stupid. I mean come on dude! Allowing Watts to mess with Penny's controls?! Does he WANT Watts to hand Penny over to Salem?!

Also, as cool as Nora's moment with the electric gate was… I always thought she could absorb WAY more electricity than THAT! Didn't she once get struck by lightning?! I'm pretty sure pure lightning contains more watts then some stupid gate!

And then we get to the Hound, who in its brief minutes of screen-time has become a more interesting villain then Cinder's been since volume 3!

Having said all that, I did enjoy the battle-scene between Penny and the ace-ops. Penny for the win! Please don't let her get hacked/killed. The chase-sequence for Oscar was pretty good too.

Also the opening is awesome!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Now back to the matter of my interlude. I've decided to split it into 2 parts. The first will be about moments from the first season of Yu-Gi-Oh, while the second one will contain moments from season 2. Basically these interludes will be about moments from the original Yu-Gi-Oh dub BEFORE Noah's filler arc. I've decided to do it like this because I've already written a bit of this interlude and I'm already at 6000 words while I'm nowhere near the end of season 1. I'm also gonna make interludes for the other seasons but I'm first gonna do the first 2 seasons, return to 5d's, and then pick a good moment to continue the other seasons.

If you have moments from the original Yu-Gi-Oh dub you want to suggest for my interludes, you're still allowed to make suggestions.

Also these interludes won't involve any of the Yu-Gi-Oh movies. Maybe in the far off future, but not right now.

Well I think that was all I had left to say. Thanks for reading this chapter and I hope you're gonna like my future interludes.

This is MasterSaixus, signing off.

(Chapter updated in January 2022)
