I don't own Kingdom Hearts or or Spider-Man. They belong to Square Enix, Disney, Marvel, and Sony. You know, since I kept you all waiting, I thought I do something similar to what I did with Spider-Man: Journey to Kingdom Hearts by giving you this small preview of what's to come in this story. Enjoy!
Chapter 12: Return to Scala ad Caelum
Sora groaned as he woke up on the hard ground he lied. He sat up as he rubbed his head, "Oh... my head..."
He sat up as he looked around, "This place..." He then blinked in shock, "Wait, I know where I am... this is..."
He gasped as he remembered what happened moments ago, "Thane!" He quickly got up on his feet as he called out, "Guys! Where are you?!"
Just then, he heard Goofy called out, "Over here!"
He turned around to see the Captain of the Royal Knights hopping up and down to get his attention, "Hey, Sora!"
Sora sighed in relief before asking, "Have you see some of the others?!"
Goofy gestured to behind him, "I found Donald!"
Sora turned around to spot Donald handing on a building by his clothes as the duck complained, "GET ME DOWN!"
Sora chuckled as he reassured the royal magician, "We'll get you down in a sec!"
Donald squawked loudly as he continued to complain. He simply crossed his arms as he muttered angrily to himself. Just then, Captain Rex flew around the corner and grabbed Donald as he carried the duck down. Everyone rushed up to them as Sora called, "Rex! Glad to see you're okay."
"Good to see you too," Rex nodded as he landed while he placed Donald down.
Sora asked in concern, "Have you seen anyone else?"
"No, you three were the first ones I've seen since coming here," The Clone Captain admitted, "And I only knew that you were here because your friend, Donald, was complaining awfully loud."
Sora and Goofy got a good chuckle out of that as Donald crossed his arms, "Ah phooey!"
After the laughing stopped, Rex turned to the trio, "Any idea where Thane brought us?"
Sora nodded, "Yeah. Scala ad Caelum. When brought Master Xehanort here when we trapped him in a portal. Or at least the memory of this world."
Goofy nodded as he recalled, "Xehanort did say it was once a seat of power for all Keyblade Wielders. Something must have happened to this world."
"Whatever happened," Rex stated, "Thane must have used the Stones to bring it back."
"Why bring us here though," Sora asked, "Why betray us at all? I thought we were friends."
"You can ask him when we find him," Rex answered before adding, "Before we do, I suggest we regroup with the others. We're going to need all hands if we're going to stop Thane in that kind of armor."
Sora nodded as he picked up his phone, "I'll try calling Riku. At least I know we can call each other now."
As they dialed the number, the four heard another phone rang. Donald gasped, "Where did that come from?!"
Sora raised an eyebrow, "Riku?"
Everyone ran to the source of the ringing only to spot a GummiPhone but no Riku. Sora picked up the phone as he stated, "Well, this is Riku's phone, but I don't see him."
"Make sense," Goofy recalled, "He did use his phone to make sure the worlds inside the black box would be safe."
"Oh, yeah," Sora replied as everyone sighed at that. He stopped the call when suddenly his GummiPhone starting ringing catching everyone off guard, "What?!"
"Who's calling now?" Donald asked.
Sora answered his phone as an image of King Mickey appeared on screen, "Sora! Thank goodness you're safe!"
Sora beamed, "King Mickey!"
Donald and Goofy joined Sora as they exclaimed, "Your Majesty!"
"Gosh! I'm glad you're all safe," Mickey smiled he then got serious, "No time to celebrate though! As long as Thane has the six Infinity Stones along with that armor, he's not only a danger to the himself but worlds as well."
"Any idea why he could have brought us here?" Rex wondered, "There has to be some sort of reason."
"Well... I do have one theory," Mickey admitted with a frown, "This place was where Masters Earquas and Xehanort were training to become Keyblade Masters. So Xehanort wasn't lying to you when he told you that when he said this was once a seat of power for all Keyblade Wielders. Legend has it this was also one of the first worlds to be restored from the last Keyblade War and because of that... it has a strong connection to Kingdom Hearts."
"Okay," Rex nodded, "Though what does that have to do with our situation?"
Sora's eyes widened, "Wait... you don't think he can summon Kingdom Hearts? I mean... I know the Stones are powerful but can they summon Kingdom Hearts?"
"That's my theory," Mickey admitted before admitting, "Though I don't quite know how these Infinity Stones work. I know they're supposed to rival the X-blade, but I'm still not sure if it's enough to summon Kingdom Hearts. Let alone open it."
"Theoretically," Just then Von Drake appeared on screen, "They couldn't all so easily..."
Donald gasped, "Professor? You're here too?"
"And us too!" Hayner then appeared on screen, "Not quite sure what happened though. I thought you guys said it was over. That you defeated Thanos."
"We did," Sora frowned, "Thane had other plans though."
"Gosh, are you sure Professor?" Mickey asked Ludwig, "Those Stones seemed pretty powerful from what we saw in the last battle."
"Absolutely," Von Drake nodded, "Before we left, Sora asked me to analysis the Supercomputer on Quadratum to learn what our enemies may be planning."
Donald turned to Sora, "That's smart coming from you."
Sora glared at the laughing duck, "What's that supposed to mean?!"
"What I found on the computer was most interesting!" Ludwig continued, "As powerful as the Stones are, they can't summon Kingdom Hearts... at least not on their own..."
"Let me guess," Rex assumed, "That's where the armor comes in."
"That's right," Ludwig nodded, "Turns out, the armor was just made to harness the power of the Stones making them easier to control but also enhancing them making them capable to summon Kingdom Hearts."
"Well," Sora frowned, "That's not good."
Mickey then used the Professor, "What do you think he's trying to accomplish? Finishing what Master Xehanort started?"
"I think it's best we stop him before he even gets that chance," Sora spoke up, "We should find the others and regroup."
"Right!" The King of Disney Castle nodded, "It'sgonna take all of us to stop him.I find anyone I can and see ya real soon."
With that, the call ended. Captain turned to Sora, "You think all of us will be enough to stop Thane?"
"For the worlds shake, it'll have to," Sora answered, "It's not like we can call the Republic for reinforcements."
Rex nodded, "Because they're still trapped in the box. Right. Guess we'll have to do."
"C'mon!" Sora and the others ran to the city when all of a sudden. Gula appeared to them, "Huh? You?!"
"Hold on, Sora," Gula told the young Keyblade Wielder.
"Who's this guy?" Goofy turned to Donald, "Is he a friend?"
Donald shrugged as Rex recalled, "I remember you. You're the one who helped us in Kuzco's Empire. Gula, if I recall correctly."
He nodded, "You are correct."
Sora then added, "Then help us again. Thane's not thinking straight. He has both the Infinity Stones and the Infinity Armor! He's planning on summoning Kingdom Hearts."
"I know," Gula told him, "But I'm afraid I can't allow you to stop him."
Sora gasped in shock, "What?"
"Let me explain, I'm not your enemy neither is Thane," The Foreteller explained, "None of us are. As you know, the worlds were once one. Protected under the light of Kingdom Hearts. He's trying to restore that world with no more darkness."
"But that..." Sora tried to explain, "But that'll bring an end to the worlds we know and everyone in it! Darkness would consume everything!"
"I don't like it any more than you do," Gula admitted, "But we both know the Heartless will continue to be here as long as there is a single darkness in our hearts. And let's face it, none of us will be here to fight against them forever. This is the best and only solution."
Sora argued, "I don't believe that! We've got friends all over the worlds, we won't let him destroy them!"
Donald and Goofy nodded with determination as Rex drew out his blasters, as Gula sighed, "I hope it won't have to come to this but I must obey my master's will. I won't kill you but that doesn't mean I won't harm you to stop you."
Gula summoned his Keyblade as Sora summoned his own. Sora's three friends stood beside him as they waited for the Foreteller to make the first move. Suddenly with a burst of speed, Gula charged at them as Sora blocked the attack just in time. However, the impact was so strong in pushed Sora's friends back while Sora himself stood his ground...
Back with Spider-Man and Elsa, they watched as the original and current Princess of Heart stared down the future version of Peter Parker. The Master lightly chuckled, "So... had a nice nap?"
"You're the one who keeps messing with my fate," Kairi accused, "Xehanort was your puppet! If it weren't for everything you've done, then Sora and everyone would be safe!"
"It's true," The Master nodded, "I was the one who helped Xehanort guide the path I designed for him, and the moment I learned your boyfriend would be the one to stop him pushing back from my goal, I needed him to disappear for a little while. So, when it came time for the final clash between light and darkness, I made sure Xehanort would send you adrift in another world and drastically alter the course of your fate. In the end, you would be destroyed by Xehanort's hand, paving the way for Sora's disappearance."
Kairi's eyes narrowed as the Master continued, "It's nothing personal. Truth be told, I've been impressed by him. He's the only one able to push my plans back further than anticipated by defeating Xehanort and escaping his first encounter with Yozora. Still, he and Thanos played their parts by gathering the Six Infinity Stones, I kept hidden within the box, which I gave to his Grandfather for safekeeping until the time was right. He was more than willing when he thought he could use them and his precious dam to wipe out the tribe of Northuldra. Of course, I even suspected something would cause the Stones to separate so I used that time to make sure I new champion of darkness to succeed where Xehanot failed."
"Thane," Elsa gasped, "You were the one who turned him against us."
The Master simply smirked in response, Kairi glared at him harder, "I don't know if you're really here or just some illusion while the real you is hiding in the shadows. Either way, after everything you've done, what you plan to do... I won't let you walk away."
With that, Kairi charged at the ancient Keyblade Master with her Keyblade in hand. Once in range, she swung her Keyblade at him but he simply dodged. She then proceeded by casting a fire spell at him.
The Master of Master flew back from the attack as he quite easily dodged the spell even if it did follow him. Kairi then flew after him ready for another strike.
The Master of Masters smirked as he stood ready for the attack. However, Kairi leaped over him, much to his shock as she landed behind him as she prepared to strike down this alternate future Peter Parker.
Unfortunately, due to Master Peter's experiences, he caught her strike with ease causing her to lift her and her Keyblade in the air as Kairi struggled to get out of his hands but she was no match for his spider strength. Elsa and Peter wanted to intervene but they weren't sure how to do it without the mastermind possibly using her as a human shield. Master Parker chuckled at her, "You've become quite the Keyblade Wielder as well. For a retired master, Yen Sid prepared you remarkably well."
Realizing she couldn't make him let go of her weapon by force, Kairi did the most logical solution, she let go. The Master of Masters stumbled back as the Keyblade vanished from his hands and back into Kairi's. She swiped her Keyblade as he leaped in the air to avoid the attack. She quickly flew up after him as she prepared for another strike. Master Parker dodged and caught the attack in mid air. Kairi struggled in midair to get her Keyblade free as the Master taunted, "You boyfriend was never supposed to win that conflict, but thanks to you he was able to alter the flow of time and prevail. You two make quite the pair, you really should be thanking me, if I hadn't taken away from your families... you two never would have met."
Peter and Elsa's eyes narrowed at that as the Master continued to grin, "You're love for each other won't be enough to stop me this time. I've made certain of it."
Elsa then raised her hands as she prepared for an ice blast, "Let her go!"
Spider-Man climbed up a nearby building to get to Kairi and his counterparts level before he shot web at him before web yanking himself at the Master. He saw his younger counterparts attack as he quickly dodged moving himself and Kairi out of the way. Kairi used this as another opportunity to let go of her weapon causing it reappear in her hands. With Kairi out of the way, Elsa released a powerful icy blast at the Master causing him to simply move out of the way before Kairi went back to engage him once more. Kairi glide after the Master back to the ground as she declared, "I have had enough with this!"
Once close enough, Kairi swung her Keyblade at their foe once again, only for the Master to dodge as they returned to ground level. Master Parker pulled back as Kairi ran after him with her weapon in hand. Eventually, the Master of Masters stopped where he was, even as Kairi gained on him. He simply opened up his hand as Kairi began her next attack only for the X-Blade to appear in the Master's hand as his blade clashed with hers.
Peter and Elsa gasped in horror. While the one Vanitas used was only due to the effects of the Reality Stone, they knew this one was the real deal. Kairi pushed hard against the ultimate Key only for the Master to push her back. Spider-Man caught her as their prepared for his next attack. The Master of Masters grinned, "Yes, your eyes do not deceive you. This is the same X-blade Xehanort forged in the last Keyblade War. The one he himself passed down to Sora prior to his demise. This was the true reason why I needed Sora out of the way."
"Because with it," His younger self realized, "Sora would be the only one who could stop your plans. That's why you had Xehanort destroy Kairi, so Sora would give up that power and the means to stay outside of the box to save her."
"Yes," The Master of Masters smirked as he admired the ancient weapon, "And now, the X-blade belongs to me. Sure, other than this the only other thing he had to give up was the Power of Waking but even now, he lost the chance to stop me."
Elsa walked up to Kairi, "I know you want to make this man pay. I do too. But we need to find Sora. He's probably just distracting us so we can't help the only one capable of stopping him for good."
Kairi turned to Elsa for a moment before nodded, "Okay, I've got something that will keep his eye off us for a moment. Get ready to move when I tell you."
Master Parker had one hand behind his back while the other held tightly to the X-blade. He smirked, "You barely were able to hold your own against Thanos with the Stones, tell me, how do you plan to stop Thane."
"Same way we stopped Xehanort," Kairi answered while channeling her light through her Keyblade, "Together!"
Kairi launched a ball of light at the Master of Masters temporarily blind him. When his vision came back, he saw Kairi, Elsa, or his young counterpart were long gone. He wasn't worried though as he put away his weapon, "Fine. I'll see you again soon enough. May your hearts be your guiding keys."
Music starting playing as the Master thought back to everything he did to get where he was now. He smirked as he placed his eye in the No Name Keyblade before started to write the book of prophecies.
"Who's been messing up everything~?"
"It's been Parker all along~" The Master of Masters sang to himself as he placed surviving the worlds of the Keyblade Wars before in the black box before joining them. He walked up to King Runeard before handing him the Infinity Stones so he could destroy the people of Northuldra. He, later on, gave Young Xehanort a pat on the shoulder.
"Who's been pulling every dark string~?"
"It's been Parker all along~" The Master of Masters sang to himself as he spiked over to the Black Box.
"He's so devious~"
"Ha Ha!" Master Parker mocked a laugh as he patted a young Ventus on the doorsteps of Master Xehanort.
"So perfidious~"
The Lost Master leaned back as he watched Xehanort's Heartless meet his past self.
"That you haven't even noticed~ And the pity is~"
The Master lifted a finger to his lips as Sora's island was destroyed by the Heartless as he sang to himself, "The pity is~"
"Pity, pity, pity, pity~"
The Master of Masters whispered to Xehanort what he should do with captive Kairi before walking to Yozora and the Heartless of Runeard giving them the Space Stone and Soul Stone respectively. He then walked over to Sora experiencing the visions of losing to Thanos as he whispered in his ear, "It's too late to fix anything~
"Now that everything has gone wrong~"
He presented Thane with the information of the Infinity Armor prior to Sora's call that he found all the Stones.
"Thanks to Parker~"
"Ha!" The Master of Master laughed as he watched his plans uncurl.
"Master Parker~"
"It's been Parker all along~!" The Master of Master sang as he pulled up a chair to watch the final battle between Sora and his Foretellers. He then flashed back to when he carried little Sora as the song ended, "And I kidnapped Sora too!" He then let out maniacal laughing, "AHA HA HA HA HA HA H(Cough! Cough!)" He stopped to start coughing as he muttered to himself, "Yep! Still can't pull off that laugh! I wonder how people like Gobby can pull it off."
Moments later, the three ran past several buildings before stopping. Elsa turned to Spider-Man, "You think we've lost him?"
Spider-Man looked behind them, "Maybe. But I'm not sure we should let down our guard. Somehow, he's managed to figure out to hide from my spider-sense. And he wasn't wearing a symbiote."
"A sybi-what?" Elsa tilted her in confusion.
"Long story," Peter answered with a frown, "I still can't believe that I would... Even if he said was true..."
"It isn't," Elsa shook her head, "It can't be... Look there must be some logical explanation for all of this..."
"Or lack therefore," Spider-Man answered, "He must have lived so long with such pain and guilt... it must have driven him into insanity."
Kairi looked between the two, making them realize that they nearly forgot about her. Elsa turned to her, "I'm sorry. We never really introduced ourselves. You must be Kairi, I'm..."
"You're Elsa, Sora's twin sister," Kairi smiled as she cut her off before turning to Spider-Man, "And you're Peter. It's nice to finally meet you."
Elsa blinked in shock as Kairi shook her hand. She nodded, "Yes, but how did you know that?"
Spider-Man added, "Yeah, weren't you like in a coma or something?"
"Well, despite being asleep for the past few years," Kairi admitted, "I still knew what was happening with Sora and the others. I could feel him. Like I've been with him his entire journey."
"Right..." Spider-Man stated in disbelief, "Listen that's cute and all but I think we're going to need a little more than..."
"You snuck aboard Sora's ship and Elsa crashed into a tree saving you," Kairi smirked as she cut Spidey off.
"Okay, I'm convinced," Spider-Man nodded as Elsa blushed in embarrassment at that last bit, as the web-swinging hero then asked, "So, how were you able to do that? Was it something you always been able to do?"
Elsa then realized, "Wait... the paopu fruit."
"Yeah," Kairi smiled, "That's what I'm thinking as well."
The twin sister of Sora nodded, "So... the fruit work. Your destinies are now intertwined, it's the same reason you never woke up after Riku was able to talk to Sora. You would remain asleep until Sora escaped from the box."
Spider-Man nodded, "Okay, that's kinda cool..." He then turned to Kairi, "Listen, what happened back there with the evil me..."
Kairi raised a hand and reassured him, "It's okay. I know he's not you."
"But isn't he?" Spider-Man blinked, "I mean, he's definitely Peter Parker."
"Well, technically yes," The Princess of Heart admitted, "But he's a version of you. Not you. Just like Xemnas and Ansem were part of Master Xehanort but not Xehanort himself. Or the fact Roxas is a part of Sora but he's his own person. Just like Naminé is to me." Kairi went on, "I can't fully understand it myself but I believe there had been other versions of our friends from countless universes the Keyblade War took place. One version of you must have obtained the Keyblade and he studied the secrets of Kingdom Hearts to live as long as he is. However, since he's not you, nothing you do can alter his past or your future. You have your own history to make just like he made his."
Spider-Man blinked under his mask, "How do you know all this?"
Kairi placed a hand to her heart, "Well, I think I have seen some experiences from previous members of the Princesses of Heart before us. I just had long enough to realize it as unlike the others, I haven't passed it down."
"But you're saying my Peter and the other one," Elsa asked with hope, "They're not the exact same man?"
"No, they are not," Kairi shook her head, "They may have the same name and experience similar lives but they're very much two separate people. That Peter Parker is from the past, way before the Keyblade War, not the future."
Elsa sighed in relief, "You hear that Peter? You don't ever up becoming him."
"Even so..." Peter frowned, "He's still me. I caused all of this. Even if he's not my future. I hold responsibility for everything he has done."
"Peter, that's not your fault," The Snow Princess frowned as she approached Peter, "We had no idea who he was and you can't control what he does. Only what you do."
"And you know him better than anyone," Kairi walked up to the couple, "If we're going to beat him we're going to need your help."
Peter sighed as he nodded, "Right... right... we should find the others."
The young princesses nodded as Elsa asked, "Okay, so how do we find the others?"
Just then, they heard a large boom as everyone turned to the source of the noise, as Spider-Man suggested, "How about in the direction of the huge battle?"
"Yeah," Elsa nodded in agreement, "That makes sense."
Everyone was about to rush in when they heard a familiar voice call out, "Elsa! Wait up!"
Everyone turned to see Anna, Kristoff, Sven, and Riku running up to them. Elsa sighed in relief, "Anna!"
Kairi beamed, "Riku!"
Riku stopped where he was, as he blinked in shock, "Kairi?!"
Anna turned to the silver-haired young adult, "Kairi? That's Kairi?"
"And we're okay too," Kristoff added before turning to the love of Sora's life, "Wait, you're Kairi? Aren't you supposed to be in a coma or something?"
Elsa quickly explained, "She woke up the moment we came to Disney Castle."
Anna moaned in disappointment, "Aw... man! I was hoping Sora would have to kiss you to wake you up!" Kairi blinked in confusion before Anna cheered up, "But it's nice to finally meet you."
"Same!" Kairi shook her head before shaking Anna's hand. She then turned to Riku and gave him a friendly hug, "Hey, Riku!"
Riku returned the hug, "Kairi. Glad you're finally awake."
"So, how'd you run into Riku?" Spider-Man wondered.
"Well," Kristoff answered, "When we woke up on this world, Riku happened to be close by."
Anna nodded, "Good thing too. We ran into a few Heartless and Nobodies here."
"Great, as if things weren't bad enough," Spider-Man groaned in annoyance.
Anna blinked in confusion, "So, what happened? What else do we have to deal with?"
Peter was about to tell the truth, when Kairi cut him off, "We'll explain later! We need to help Sora!"
"Right, Kairi... maybe you stay..." Riku was about to tell her when he was cut off with a glare.
Riku froze in fear as Kairi glared, "Go ahead. Finish that sentence. I dare you."
Spider-Man turned to Kristoff in shock, "Dude, did... how did you possibly learn the 'look?!' I thought only Gwen could pull that off!"
"Guess it other young women know it too," Kristoff shrugged before shivering, "I just hope she doesn't teach it to Anna."
"Yeah," Spider-Man nodded in agreement, "Or Elsa."
Riku looked nervous, "Uh... Kairi..."
"I'm not getting left behind this time!" Kairi glared, "The Master of Master changed all of our fates and is the reason why we lost Sora in the first place! If you think I'm going to sit back while Sora and the others are in the front lines..."
Riku raised his hands in defeat, "Okay, okay! You win!"
"Good," Kairi smirked as they saw another explosion from the battle up ahead, "Now let's go help Sora!"
She then charged into the battlefield as Riku sighed, "Kairi. You and Sora are going to be the death of me one day."
He then followed her with his Keyblades in hand. Anna, Elsa, Sven, and Kristoff all turned to Spider-Man who simply shrugged, "Welp, let's go save the universe!"
Everyone then ran after Riku and Kairi to find the others...
And that will conclude the preview. The chapter for this will be far longer than this and I'll take this down as soon as chapter 12 is complete. As of why it's taken this long, I still trying to figure out the fights for this action packed chapter. Currently, I have the the boss fight for Gula is finished, I'm in the middle of the fight against Invi. After that, I need to figure out the fights between Aced, Ira, Luxu/Xigbar and of course Thane. Also, I need a small break from writing SnowSpider fanfics. Not that I still don't like writing them, I just need something brand new to write. I'm hoping to finish the next chapter of the Last Avenger before coming back to finish this and Spider-Man: Journey to Kingdom Hearts. If any of you have any ideas what'd you like to see for the boss battles for this please PM. I would not mind some ideas. I will even show who helped in this chapter at the end of the real chapter is posted. Anyways, until next time, see ya real soon! God bless!
