[A/N: Yo. So, before we start. As I'm sure you noticed, but Siegfried will be going to beacon in this version, while in the original version Sieg is going to go to Atlas. Also one reviewer said I didn't really get into the magecraft as much as I should have, don't worry the next few chapters are all training related chapters meant for Siegfried to learn to control and understand the inner workings of his semblance, and how it deals with magecraft, as well as design blade works... but with a twist of the original design, which I will draw out once it gets revealed and it will be posted on my Facebook group "The Fanfiction Armory." These training chapters span the course of a few years and eventually an incident will occur that will complicate Siegfried's current lifestyle. But I don't want to spoil my plan.
So without further adieu. Read on! For Boredom is our Enemy!]
Disclaimer: Me no own me just fan.
Siegfried stared intently at the glyph in front of him, as he slowly drew the Fehu Rune, a sort of F shape but with the parallel lines pointing upwards in a diagonal fashion. Fehu is the Rune for fire, not to be confused with the Kenaz Rune, which looks like a C but as more of a single obtuse angle (or as a K without the straight line on the left side), Kenaz is the Rune for Torch.
The difference between the two runes is that Kenaz was more used to start fires, via a simple spark while, Fehu is fire in all sense of the word, it can be used to propel a bullet from it's shell without the need of a firearm, or to set a forest ablaze. The Key to Runecraft is intent, as most runes have multiple meanings and some are more abstract, or even have a double meaning to them.
But currently Siegfried was attempting to create a flame without dust.
Siegfried finished drawing the rune.
"Now we wait..." Siegfried thought.
The change in the runic formula of the natural glyph takes time to stabilize, so all Siegfried can do is inspect the glyph for any potential problems.
Suddenly the rune sparked.
Siegfried paled.
"Oh Shi-"
(*BOOM*)
The glyph was unable to stabilize and as such the rune exploded.
"(*Cough-cough*) Dammit! That's the third time today! I drew the Rune perfectly! Why won't it stabilize?!" Siegfried shouted in aggravation.
It had been about three months since Nicholas' funeral and Siegfried had been spending everyday since he awoke his semblance, in the basement of the manor, experimenting on it with runes, trying to test the limits of the glyph's runic capabilities.
So far he had created the time glyph, which he can't use due to aura requirements, the sword glyph that Nicholas used before he died to create a weapon (although the blades break too easily so he'd prefer to create his projection weapon), and a solar energy glyph that slowly refills aura using a runic formula of Sowulo, Suwulo, Hagalaz, and another two Suwulo runes.
Suwulo is the rune for Sun as well as energy and health, and looks like a bolt of lightning while still looking like an S. While Hagalaz is the Rune for Change, and looked like an H with the center line being slightly diagonal with the right end going down.
The intended formula is essentially, Sun Energy Change to Health Energy.
An Eihwaz rune would have worked instead of Hagalaz, as it was the rune for Transformation, but it had another meaning which was Death and that could have potentially caused the solar energy to instead kill aura instead of replenish it so Siegfried went with the Hagalaz rune instead, sure it caused it to refill it slower but... better than the alternative...
But back to Siegfried.
He was attempting to make a fire glyph with out dust... but that ended in failure.
"(*sigh*) Maybe Elemental runes need a catalyst like dust in order to fuse with a glyph? Whatver... I guess I'll just try this again once I get my dust weapon made. Eventually..." Siegfried had also been trying to design blueprints of his potential projection weapon.
So far he had a pair of gloves with flat, rotating dust cartridges, SteelLight 'wires' in the shape of a sword glyph to act as the projecting system. Or a pair of bracers with all of the dust he planned to use, etched into runic markings on the steel, with SteelLight dust wire leading from each rune to a Glyph on the inner wrist.
That was pretty much what he had narrowed it down to, and yet he felt that both were correct but... not at the same time, like they were a step in the right direction, but something was missing. But at the moment he didn't have the have the materials to make a proper prototype of each one, so it didn't really matter.
Siegfried shook his head from his train of thought, and focused again, on his failed fire glyph.
The floor of the basement was scorched, but luckily wasn't cracked by the blast.
Siegfried glared at the scorch mark, almost like he was trying to will it to burn with flame from just his glare.
Siegfried then checked the scroll he had gotten from Nicholas.
The time on the holographic face said: 6:30am, December 15th
Siegfried sighed, not because of the time but because of the date.
Today was his, and his sister's, birthday, and today they turn three.
"I am not looking forward to this..." Siegfried muttered.
Birthdays had become... troublesome ever since he had been reincarnated in this family.
Jacque used it as a publicity stunt, and with Siegfried's new status as the male Heir of the family, it would mean several greedy bastards would try and set up a marriage contract, which they would assume that Siegfried was ignorant to, and he would sign away his freedom, even if Jacque had approved of it, Siegfried would still need to sign it, as the rightful heir of the family.
Which by the way... he refuses to marry the daughter of some rich blowhard, especially if he doesn't know the girl.
Siegfried stood up from his sitting position on the floor, and sighed.
"Better head up and get changed... if I'm gonna be turning down girls at my age I might as well look nice..." Siegfried conceded.
The boy then walked to the elevator, which was there instead of a staircase, the Schnee manor was weird that way. Anyways when he got to the elevator, he entered said death trap.
The elevator was furnished with white padded walls and black carpeted floors, the buttons for floors was more like a pin pad, where you had to input the floor, which are coded, yourself, which was why no one really visited the basement as no one seemed to remember that the floor code was literally just 0000.
"Like seriously, how hard is that to remember..." Siegfried muttered
Then again Siegfried didn't even know there was a basement until he read through some notes that Nicholas left in the scroll, so he didn't really have much room to talk.
Siegfried input the code for the living quarters floor, 8008, yes Siegfried knew what that spells on a calculator. Hey it wasn't his fault, his grandfather was the one who put the codes not him.
"Real mature Gramps..." Siegfried muttered.
The elevator closed and began to move upward, while Siegfried waited.
Eventually the elevator stopped and opened with resounding (*ding*).
Siegfried exited and quietly walked to his room, he took care to dodge the staff, to make sure they don't question him on where he had been, dispite him having gone down to the basement since he discovered its existence in the scroll nearly two months ago.
Siegfried shuddered at the memories of his experiments before he found the basement.
"So many solar energy explosions..." Siegfried internally winced in phantom pain and idly rubbed his right hip, where he now has a dark tan from the heat of the UV rays that were generated from his solar charging aura glyph, or Solar Glyph, whenever it exploded.
Siegfried continued to walk towards his room, when he saw a pair of staff approach. He ducked behind a nearby potted plant so as not to be harrassed by the staff.
It was then that he heard the pair talking.
"Have you heard?" one guy, Emanuel, Siegfried though his name was, said.
"About what?" A maid, Sasha, asked.
"That there are several guests tonight who are trying to marry off their daughters to the young master. And according to rumor, the Arc family is going to be present, to meet the young master." Emanuel said.
"Huh? Why are the Arcs coming to this?" Siegfried mentally wondered.
"No way!? The entire arc family!?" Sasha asked.
"No of course not, just the head of house, his wife, and his children." Emanuel said.
"Ok... so I'll be meeting Jaune then... perhaps I can help him with a training regiment? Since I doubt we'll meet for a long time after this." Siegfried pondered.
"Ok... but doesn't the head of the Arc family have like... 6 kids with another on the way?" Sasha asked.
"Can you blame the guy!? I mean look at his wife! She's drop dead gorgeous! Who wouldn't want to bang her to the point of having several kids! I know I would!" Emanuel said.
(*SMACK!!!*)
Siegfried winced when a jealous and angry Sasha slapped the man, but he knew it was coming.
"You deserved that for talking about screwing someone's wife in front of a woman, let alone a girl that clearly has a crush on you dude..." Siegfried thought with a roll of his eyes.
Sasha huffed and stormed away from the downed Emanuel, who lay twitching on the floor.
Siegfried walked up to the man, and lifted his hands clapped them together twice and prayed for the foolish man on his journey to the afterlife, as well as the couch.
The boy then continued on his path to his room.
Once inside his room he grabbed a clean pair of clothes, the kind meant for fancy parties.
Then he walked to the nearby bathroom, which for some reason was outside of the rooms.
He stripped out of his clothes and took a shower, he didn't like baths, too childish for his tasts. Dispite being physically a child himself, he was still mentally an adult that had lived through two other lives, sure both had ended in their twenties, but hopefully the pattern wouldn't repeat itself, seeing as v7 and beyond take place when most of the group is almost 20 so...
Siegfried shook off the water from his hair once he was finished, and then he used a towel to dry off his body, but not his hair, he preferred to let his hair air dry, it gave it that messy but neat look he always went for.
Siegfried then grabbed his simple pure white tshirt, which he used as an undershirt. Then he put on his white buttoned shirt, and added shirt stays (which are straps that clip to the bottom, front and back, of a shirt) then he put on his dress socks and connected the straps to the sock, in an X on his outer thighs, and tightened them to match his size, so as to pull the shirt down and keep it looking neat and inside of his trousers while he moved around.
He then put on said trousers, which are black khakis, and then tucked his shirt in and buttoned them, before he put on a black leather belt to match the pants.
Finally he put on his Dress jacket, a simple black cotton blazer, along with a matching black tied, which was tucked into the Blazer as soon as it was finished being tied.
Yes, he knew how to tie a tie.
Siegfried then turned to the mirror and inspected himself.
If not for the fact he was a three year old and was positively adorable in his little suit. You could say he looked rather professional, the only problem... his hair. It didn't match the suit. Meaning Siegfried would have to to the one thing he hated the most... after Jacque... and that was style his hair.
But luckily Siegfried had only one hairstyle that he preferred, the slicked back look.
So Siegfried went to the counter, and, using the foot stool, grabbed the hair gel out of it.
Siegfried knew his hair hated to be gelled, and he would pay for his transgressions, but he had to do this.
"Sorry hair..." Siegfried thought.
Then he squirted a good sized glob of gel into his hand, put the bottle down, and rubbed his hand through his naturally messy and slightly spiked hair, as he forced it backwards.
Siegfried could almost hear his hair cursing his name, by the time he was finished.
Siegfried looked at himself in the mirror again and almost fainted.
His now slicked back hair slightly spiked in the back, which made him look like a child-sized, pale skinned, red-eyed version of Archer EMIYA... while not a bad look, his memories of the Grail war from his last life, even sealed, were still clear in his mind.
Siegfried almost considered leaving his hair messy, but it was already too late and the gel had set in.
The boy then rook out his scroll and checked the time
8:56am
Siegfried paused... he had been showering and getting dressed up for nearly three hours... well at least he didn't have to show up until around 10:30 or so.
Siegfried then decided to go back to his room and relax, maybe watch a movie on his scroll?
So the boy did just that. He had decided to watch Fate/Kaleid Oath Under Snow, to be honest this "canon" version of Shirou Emiya was probably his favorites, and he had watched the movie several times already, even if he didn't know how the hell the movie, as well as all the music he had downloaded onto his scroll, got onto Remnant seeing as none of these bands or Anime existed on Remnant.
... although Siegfried thought he saw a kaleidoscope of rainbow colored light envelope the object at some point, but it was a bit hazy...
"Yep definitely Zelretch..." Siegfried thought as he made his way down to the ballroom, where he would be forced to present himself to the 'guests'.
"Guests? Please, I don't want them here... except maybe the Arcs. I am curious about Jaune's parents and other sisters, besides Saphron." Siegfried thought.
Siegfried stopped at the large door, which had some Schnee Staff on either side, maids to be specific.
Siegfried looked at the two maids, one was Sasha, she still looked pissed but seemed to contain her anger when she saw him.
"Young Master! Good evening, and might I say happy birthday?" Sasha said.
Siegfried nodded.
"Happy birthday young master, would you like to enter now?" Sasha asked.
"What is this? A video game? Is there gonna be a yes or no option?" Siegfried thought dryly.
"Yes. Thank you." Siegfried said.
"Very well young master have a pleasant evening." Sasha said with a bow before she opened the door enough to let Siegfried through.
Siegfried stepped through the doorway and into the ballroom.
Immediately he took notice of the guests, annoying and pampered people who don't care that there were people who needed someone to help them, people who are starving, or are sick, or are ravaged by Grimm, these... people, and Siegfried used the term loosely, didn't care... not even a little.
Siegfried clenched his, slightly glowing, fists tight as he gazed coldly at these pathetic exuses for humans.
Siegfried noticed Jacque stood with Willow, arm in arm, with Weiss she stood shyly behind her mother's leg.
Siegfried softened his cold gaze at the sight of Weiss.
"Dad!? Why do we have to be here?! So some entitled brats are turning three. It doesn't matter to us!" An iritated child's voice hissed.
"Jalter! Be nice." a kinder voice said mortification.
"Oh suck it Jeanne! Little goody two shoes!" The named Jalter said to Jeanne.
"Are those two who I think they are...?" Siegfried wondered as he turned to the source of the voices, and almost passed out from shock.
There he stood, tall and proud, a fucking blonde blue eyed Iskandar look alike!
"What... the... fuck..." Siegfried muttered in shock.
The look alike was surrounded by children with most of them being all girls.
There was Saphron, the oldest from what Siegfried could see.
Then there were a pair of twins, one with golden blonde hair in a long braid with her bangs framing her face, obviously Jeane.
The girl next to her was plantinum blond with a similar hairstyle as the previous girl, but her hair wasn't braided and was just in a very low pony tail. This was obviously Jalter.
They wore matching black dresses.
The two looked exactly as he remembered them to be...
Siegfried inspected the rest of the children... it seemed twins were common with the Arcs as nearly every child had their own twin, except for Saphron,
Siegfried eventually found the only male of the children as he stood awkwardly with his own twin, in a dark blue suit.
Siegfried gasped as he saw her.
Long blond hair pulled back into a bun with a braid that held the bun in place. Emerald Green eyes that shined with life and an unnatural beauty.
Pale but slightly tanned skin, contained in a long blue dress with gold and silver trim.
"It can't be..." Siegfried mentally began.
"Saber..." Siegfried muttered aloud.
The girl seemed to hear him even if the rest didn't, as she turned to look at the boy who stared at her with a sense of awe and wonder, and something familiar... but she couldn't quite place.
Jaune looked where his twin was looking and saw Siegfried.
"Finally! A guy I can talk to!" Jaune thought excitedly.
The boy didn't really have any guy friends, or any at all really, and due to the fact he had five sisters who were all over protective of him, except Jalter she didn't really care either way, he never had the chance to make any friends let alone a boy his own age.
Jaune nervously walked over to Siegfried.
Said boy blinked at Jaune in slight surprise, he didn't expect him to approach him first.
Jaune extended his hand out.
"Hi I'm Jaune! Nice to meet you!" Jaune said with a nervous tone.
Siegfried stared at the boy, before he grinned a bit, and took the offered hand.
"I'm Siegfried, nice to meet you as well." Siegfried returned the greeting.
Jaune brightened up.
"Yes! Arturia look I made a friend!" Jaune said, which made the girl approach them, which caused Siegfried's breath to hitch.
"Good evening I am Arturia Arc, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." Arturia said, positively glowing with charisma, as she smiled.
Siegfried couldn't stop his cheeks from turning red at the sight.
"U-um... I am Siegfried Schnee, and the pleasure is all mine." Siegfried stuttered at first before he introduced himself in kind, with equal charisma.
Arturia blinked, she had not expected his response to contain as much charisma as her own, clearly there was something unusual about the boy.
"Perhaps he is like me? He called me Saber earlier... did he know me?" Arturia wondered.
Ever since her own reincarnation, most of her memories of her past life were hazy, maybe the boy in front of her was the same.
Arturia smiled at the boy again.
"So you are my brother's new friend then?" Arturia asked, having seen the two boy's greeting and knew her brother was a bit naive when it came to making friends.
So Arturia decided to test the boy, would he already consider her brother a friend despite having only just introduced themselves.
Siegfried scratched his cheek with his right index finger.
"Yeah I guess... I'm not really a guy with a lot of friends myself, at all actually. Besides..." Siegfried gazed at Jaune's sisters then to his own, while also thinking of Winter.
"He and I are the only guys in our family, I have two sisters, and him... well you know... So I guess he and I have some common ground in some terms. Besides... he doesn't seem that bad, I wouldn't mind being friends." Siegfried said.
Arturia rose a brow.
He was being truthful that was certain, but that's not why Arturia rose her brow.
The fact he said he doesn't have friends, with the level of Charisma he displayed you would think he was surrounded by those who would follow him to the ends of Remnant.
"Hmm, very well. I will allow you to be friends with Jaune... and myself, by extension." Arturia said with a charismatic tone fit for royalty.
Siegfried, by reflex, straightened, as if to present his sword to his king.
Siegfried relaxed before she could notice it, or so he thought anyways.
Suddenly their attention was torn away from each other as Jacque stepped up to a podium that Siegfried didn't notice.
"Ahem... Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased that you could all attend the birthday of my son and my daughter. I hope that everything has been going well for you all tonight." Jacque said at the podium microphone.
The guests all murmured their agreement, except for the Arc children, who didn't really care.
"Now I would like for the birthday boy and girl to come up and introduce themselves. Come up, Siegfried, Weiss..." Jacque said.
Siegfried sighed, which caught Arturia's attention, before he walked over to the podium, where Weiss shyly stood beside him.
"These are my children Siegfried and Weiss. Siegfried is the heir to the Schnee family, as named by the late Nicholas Schnee." Jacque said as he gestured to the two, for them to properly introduce themselves.
Siegfried went first.
Jacque held the microphone to his height.
"Good evening everyone, I am Siegfried Schnee heir to the Schnee line. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." Siegfried said. He finished his introduction with a slight bow, as he forced down his contempt for these pampered pigs.
The guests murmured appreciatively at his introduction.
Siegfried then returned to his former position.
Weiss was nervous, she didn't know what to do, or say.
Siegfried caught onto her problem.
"Weissy..." He whispered to the girl.
She looked at him.
"Do as I did, without the heir part. And when you bow, curtsy instead, with your skirt. These... people... are wolves in human skin they feed off of fear, do not show them any. Be strong... be the hero you want to be." Siegfried finished.
Weiss paused at her twin.
He was right... these people, they could obviously see her nervousness and openly mock her for it. Something she would no longer allow.
Weiss walked up to the podium where Jacque waited impatiently.
Weiss took a deep breath and began.
Her eyes turned cold as her brother's, when she spoke.
"Good evening everyone. I am Weiss Schnee. I welcome you all to our home. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." Weiss said, her voice calm and clear, like a frozen river. It actually surprised Siegfried a bit but he still smirked at his twin.
"Hell yeah Weiss, show them you won't be pushed around." Siegfried thought, proudly.
The crowd murmured in surprise, they had seen her be nervous and pitiful not even a second before she started her introduction. So what happened?
Jacque stared at his daughter in shock, before he felt a flash of... pride at her change of attitude, it was then he got an idea.
"My Daughter Weiss will be my heir for the Schnee Dust Company... as The late Nicholas left me in charge of it to do as I see fit." Jacque said.
Siegfried's eyes widened.
"That sneaky bastard..." Siegfried thought.
The SDC was a company founded by Nicholas, not as a Schnee but as a man who knew dust more than nearly the entirety of Remnant. And dispite it's name, it doesn't technically belong to the Schnee family, especially since Jacque took over as CEO.
Siegfried was honestly fine with this arrangement, he has to be the Head of the Schnee family and his twin, who would, in the future actually more knowledgeable about dust than him, get to take over the company, now they both get something.
But Siegfried had to narrow his eyes at the man... he was plotting something...
(*Crash*)
Suddenly the windows of the ballrooms shattered as several figures, each wearing familiar Grimm themed masks, crashed through them.
The hired Guards immediately leapt into action and engaged the intruders, but there were still too many of them.
One of the intruder's shouted "Death to the Schnees! And all those who support them!"
Siegfried suddenly pushed his sister as one figure leapt onto the sword and slashed his sword, a simple Gladius, in his right hand, at the twin.
But as Siegfried had pushed his sister out of the way he was now free to act.
In an instant a pair of sword, made of crystalized steel colored aura flashed into his hands.
The swords were a pair of chinese Dao swords, a style of sword that his last life as Shirou Emiya had used the most.
But these blades weren't those blades, these were brittle, like all of the swords his glyphs made, and they were no Kanshou and Bakuya, but they would have to do.
Siegfried intercepted the intruder's sword with his left aura blade, which shattered afterwards, and then countered with the right one, by slicing the man's right forearm, on the muscle, effectively severing them which forced the man's arm to go limp, the white sword then shattered as well.
The man backed away and stared dumbfounded at his limp arm, before rage became evident on his face, and he grabbed the blade with his left hand, before he charged, much faster this time.
Siegfried resummoned his blades, and waited, his arms crossed over his chest, with this lower body exposed.
The man struck with the rage of a berserker, which Siegfried intercepted the blows again, and continously countered the man's strikes, all the while he resummoned his swords everytime they shattered.
Eventually the man slipped up, which Siegfried noticed.
In an instant Siegfried used his aura to strengthen his body, before he slammed his two swords down onto the man's shoulders, cutting him from both shoulders to the hips in a X, not deep enough to kill the man but just enough to make him pass out in pain.
Weiss had watched the fight in awe at the strength of her brother.
Siegfried panted as he dismissed his twin blades and turned to Weiss.
"Weiss I need you to hide someplace they won't find you, or go find mom she'll know what to do." Siegfried ordered.
"B-but!?"
"Now Weiss, get moving!!" Siegfried yelled, which caused her to flinch.
Weiss turned and ran, as fast as her 3 year old body would allow.
Siegfried then turned to the rest of the party.
The guests were in a panic, the guards fought with the intruders, and the Arcs... well the head was kicking ass with Crocea Mors and a beautiful woman with navy blue hair seemed to be pulling water from the air and beating the intruders with thick tendrils made of water, with a rather disturbing smile on her face.
Siegfried shuddered at the sight, before the noticed something.
Jaune and Arturia, were outnumbered, Arturia had found a long steak knife, which seemed to be glowing a gold color, and was using it to protect herself and Jaune, but they were steadily losing ground.
Siegfried narrowed his eyes at the sight before he took off towards the intruders near Jaune and Arturia.
As he did so he noticed that Arturia had stepped on a piece of food and had slipped.
Something clicked within Siegfried's mind, and he felt his body react on its own.
Siegfried summoned his twin blades again and threw them.
They flew like buzz saws, they whirled towards the intruders near them and hit them in the backs, before they shattered.
Siegfried did the safe thing again, but this time he added more aura into them, to hopefully make them less brittle.
The intruders who had been hit alerted the rest of their group and they turned to face the boy only to have to block the two flying swords.
The blades didn't shatter on contact, but they did crack, the blades then continued to fly in the air.
Siegfried summoned another strengthened pair of swords and threw them again, which again were blocked.
Siegfried summoned one final pair, as he got closer to the group, but this pair was different, they were longer and shaped like wings, they were noticeably more unstable than the other pair of blades.
Siegfried jumped at the surprised intruders and slashed down at the men, his wing blades hit them and then Siegfried quickly let go of them and jumped over the men, before the two swords detonated.
The intruders flew away from Jaune and Arturia.
Siegfried spun in midair and landed right in front of the two, with his back facing them.
Jaune and Arturia watched the exchange in awe, well Jaune more than Arturia, the later was more focused on the blades and the technique Siegfried had used to save them.
"Where have I seen that attack before...?" Arturia pondered.
Siegfried panted, his eyes wide.
"That was...!?" Siegfried thought in shock.
"Crane Wing Three Realm." Siegfried/Arturia muttered at the same time, which caused the two to stare at each other, in surprise.
The two were about to confront each other, only for the one of the intruders to leap at them.
"Look out!" Jaune shouted.
Siegfried's eyes froze over.
Faster than before he whirled around and summoned a sword.
This time instead of his twin blades he summoned reinforced longsword, using all of his remaining aura, to ensure that the blade didn't crack or shatter, he then held the blade in front of himself with both hands.
Siegfried sidestepped the oncoming intruder's weapon, a simple Katana with no added attachments like a gun sheathe.
Siegfried then swung his sword upwards, which knocked the Katana upwards, not out of the intruder's hands, Siegfried, his stance low but stable, then spun, his blade trailed behind him, before he swung it, using the momentum of his spin along with his swing, he cut into the intruder, who had attempted to block with his Katana.
The enemy blade shattered into shards of steel, as the aura blade crushed it like it was a pebble to a sledgehammer.
The enemy fighter was then cut by the aura blade, it burned itself through the leather armor that the intruder wore, and the man now had a gash on his chest from left shoulder to the right hip.
Siegfried then spun again and kicked the intruder and sent him flying into the nearby wall, head first, which knocked him unconscious.
Siegfried panted as he dismissed his final blade, his aura now completely spent.
Siegfried didn't use his normal style, nor the Schnee style for that fight... no he used her's, the style that she had taught him during their time together in the Grail war.
The style wasn't a fit for his body, and so it always exhausted him even back then, so he never really used it. But now... she was watching, or at least... someone who looked like her, and had her name.
Arturia stared at him, eyes wide as she recognized those movements.
"Where did he learn that style... that's my style of Swordsmanship?" Arturia thought.
Siegfried's eyes froze again.
"She's not her you idiot... you know how the throne of heroes works! The only, known, heroes who actually remembers their time as a servant, are EMIYA and Iskandar, and that's only because they have a reality marble, that holds the memories of what they encountered during that time... Saber doesn't have a reality marble..." Siegfried bitterly scolded himself.
He looked over to the rest of the chaotic party, the guards had finally driven the intruders back.
The group didn't look back at their fallen comrades and just leapt out the window.
The intruders who were wounded were taken into custody by the guards.
From what Siegfried noticed none of the pompous guests had died and were now mocking the fallen intruders, some even kicking a corpse of a male red haired bull faunus about 8 or 9 the boy seemed familiar to Siegfried but he couldn't quite remember where he had seen the boy before.
Siegfried glared at the group, and tightened his fists, which flashed with aura for a second.
His aura was refilling, slowly, thanks to the solar glyph he had carved onto the roof of the manor, about a week ago, when he finally completed said glyph.
Siegfried had read in the book that carved glyphs would forever remain and fulfill their purpose, so long as the carving remained undamaged.
And the purpose of the solar glyph on the manor was to refill the aura of those within it's walls.
As such Siegfried's aura was replenishing along with the resident/visiting huntsman, which Siegfried was sure they had noticed.
Siegfried returned his focus to the pompous fools who were kicking the corpse.
"No... that's not a corpse! That's...!!" Siegfried thought his eyes widened in realization.
"Adam Taurus..." Siegfried muttered with a slight edge in his eyes.
But those eyes softened as the boy cried out in pain, as a heeled shoe struck him in the gut.
Siegfried growled and stormed over to the group, his aura flared with each step he took.
The group didn't notice the boy until it was too late.
A relatively fat woman in high heels, the same that had kicked the boy in the stomach, was about to kick the bull faunus again, only for a small but strong hand to grip her ankle, the sudden stop from her kick forced her momentum to take her down, she landed flat on her ass.
"Who dares!?" the woman growled, her greasy long hair having flipped onto her face, so she couldn't see.
The woman forced her hair back into it's original position, only to stare down a dozen daggers made of aura, each held by a small glyph around the guard, as they floated before the very boy she had come to get a marriage contract from, for her granddaughter.
"Young Schnee! What is the meaning of this!? Why would you protect this filthy animal who had, not even five minutes ago, came to kill you and your family, as well as us!?" The pompous woman demanded.
Siegfried just stared apatheticly at her, his red eyes made of pure ice.
"Yes they came to kill us... but they were defeated, this one is defeated, he can no longer fight, and an honorable person, such as those of nobility, like yourself, should acknowledge that they are no longer a threat. And mocking them for defeat... makes you worse than them." Siegfried intoned to the woman.
"But they're just animals! They have no use for honor. I mean it's not like they are coherent beings, they're just mindless beasts. Who came to kill us, to kill me!" The fat woman shouted.
Siegfried paused, as he saw the other rich fools of the room nod in agreement.
"These... things... don't even consider them to have any form of conscience thoughts!" Siegfried grit his teeth.
"Well... then it seems we are at an impasse, and negotiations have broken down... do you know what that means?" Siegfried asked.
"Huh? Speak sense boy!" the fat woman barked.
"It means that it is time to put down the true beast... the one right in front of me..." Siegfried muttered to the woman, who heard him.
The woman panicked and attempted to scramble back, but two of the daggers flew at the hem of her dress and pinned it down, which caused her to fall on her back.
Siegfried stared into her eyes, before he sent the one of the other blades to fly at her neck.
The woman screamed, and closed her eyes and waited for death.
But it never came.
"Ah look... it seems she had an accident, bad! bad human not on the ball room floor, you go outside when you need the go potty!" Siegfried mocked the woman as her bladder voided itself.
The woman opened her eyes in shock at his words.
He had treated her as an animal, and it hurt!
Siegfried noticed the hurt in her eyes.
"See... hurts doesn't it... to be treated like you're less than what you are... that is how the Faunus feel everytime you or anybody, sees them. That is how you all made this one feel, to the point he felt he had to violently retaliate." Siegfried said to the crowd around them.
The woman on the ground looked down to said floor, and actually began to contemplate, this woman would have a lot to think about after this night.
Siegfried then turned to Adam and knelt to the boy.
The older boy had watched the entire confrontation in shock at this human child, that protected him from the crowd of humans.
The boy who had belittled his own kind to prove a point, and it had worked, judging by the look of thought on the woman's, who had kicked him, face.
The boy knelt to him and spoke softly to him.
"Are you all right?"
Adam was speechless, this was the first time a human had ever spoken kindly to him, and he didn't know what to do.
"U-uh...yes..." Adam stuttered.
Siegfried smiled at the teen.
"Hopefully this sticks with him for a long time." Siegfried thought, trying to change the future somewhat.
"Good." Siegfried said, with a smile, to the teen.
Adam was even more dumbfounded, and didn't know what to say so he just observed the human.
His hair was white, just like the family he was sent to kill.
"He must be a Schnee." Adam thought with a tight jaw.
He continued to observe the boy.
Pale skin, slicked back white hair, and red reptilian eyes.
Those eyes caught Adam's own.
They were different from a reptilian faunus' eyes, as most were amber in color, but it wasn't only that. The pupil for most reptilian Faunus' were simple slits, but this boy's were jagged slits and seemed to spike out on the edges of the pupil.
He had only seen those eyes ones before, on a man who save his life when he was a toddler, he couldn't see the man's face, but those eyes... they would stay with him until the day he died.
The boy suddenly held out his hand to the teen.
"Come on... they're gonna take you anyways... might as well show them a little pride." The boy said to Adam.
Adam widened his eyes.
That was true, they would take him, to who knows where.
Adam would normally panic st the prospect, but the boy's words had stirred a fire within him.
Adam took the boy's, surprisingly strong, hand and the boy pulled him up.
Adam then stood up tall and proud, he noticed that the humans of the room were silently watching, he puffed out his chest and strode towards the guard, who tensed at his approach, as if waiting to shoot him if he attacked.
Siegfried noticed the tension and glared at the guards, but he waited all the same, not like he could do much now anyways, seeing as he used what aura he regained to prove a point with that fat woman.
Adam strode up to the guards and spoke clearly with pride evident in his voice.
"So... are we going or not." Adam said.
The guards were visibly surprised at his tone, and willingness to turn himself in, but seemed to also respect him for not showing any fear.
The guards took out a pair of handcuffs and cuffed them onto Adam.
Then they led Adam away, with respect instead of trying to push him, they let him walk.
Before the door closed Adam took one last look at the boy, and most importantly... his eyes.
This was the second time someone with those eyes had saved his life.
"I will repay you for this, Schnee or no Schnee, I owe you one." Adam thought.
His oath would later be forgotten as he was taken from his prison cell by SDC workers and branded by the company, on his face, by the orders of Jacque Schnee.
But for now he was led to the police vehicle.
Siegfried sighed as the older boy left, he knew his work was far from over, seeing as the bull faunus didn't have the brand on his face yet.
"And I probably just sent him to get that very same brand... fuck." Siegfried thought.
He shook his head at his blunder, but resolved to save the other boy once he made his dust projectors.
But for now he had a mess to clean up.
Suddenly Siegfried was glomped by a wild Jaune, who began to talk about how strong Siegfried was and wondered how he got so strong at 3 years old.
"... my grandfather he trained me by fighting me, he believed the best way to learn was to experience combat for yourself and learn how to react accordingly." Siegfried said, truthfully, of course he had knowledge from his previous lives on numerous ways to use his powers effectively, but he couldn't really say that now could he?
"That does seem to be the most effective way to learn." A strong male voice said.
Siegfried turned to see Jaune's father as he stood behind them.
"Good afternoon sir." Siegfried said with a polite bow.
"Raise your head young Schnee. You saved my son and my daughter, I am grateful! If there's anything you need from me, do not hesitate to ask. We Arcs always repay our debts." Jaune's father said.
"Thank you Mr. Arc-"
"Alex, call me Alex. We're all friends here." Alex said.
Siegfried almost did a spittake at the name, but he managed to suppress it.
"-Alex... I thank you for the offer, but I don't really need anything, I only did what anybody would have done." Siegfried answered.
Alex stared at the boy before he guffawed.
"Young Schnee-"
"Siegfried... call me Siegfried, or Sieg." Siegfried interrupted in the same manner as Alex.
"Sieg then! The Arc family has made many enemies. And nearly all of them are within this very room. So while I appreciate your humbleness, I have to disagree that any of the people in this room would have saved my children." Alex said seriously.
Siegfried paused at that.
"Is it because the Arcs supported Vale during the great war?" Siegfried asked.
Alex paused.
"Yes... my Father... was a man of similar values as your grandfather, which was probably why they got alomg so well, but dispite our family home being closer to Mistral, we chose to fight for Vale. We help to found that place, we Arcs hold a connection to it far more than we did for either Mistral or Atlas." Alex said.
Siegfried thought about what the man said.
"I have another question... about the Arcs." Siegfried asked.
"Go on ask." Alex said.
"Is it true that the Arcs are descended from the Warrior king?" Siegfried asked.
Alex froze at that.
"How did you find that out..." It wasn't a question.
"The history of the ancient families of Remnant: Schnee. The book is the record of my family history, on every Schnee to ever live. I read through a few of the chapters, one was about a Schnee named Merlin." Siegfried said.
Arturia twitched at the name, but no one noticed.
"Merlin had taught the warrior king a few things about aura and was the one to unlock his aura. It also mentioned that the Warrior king's symbol was twin crescent moons. Which is the Arc's family symbol." Siegfried said.
Alex sagged at that.
"So you have your families record then." Alex said.
"It was left to me as the heir by my grandfather." Siegfried said.
"Then you know about... that?" Alex asked.
"The M word? Yes I know. I've been using R-U-N-E-S to experiment on my glyphs, so far I've created a new glyph, as far as I can tell anyways since it's not in the other book about our semblance." Siegfried said.
Alex and Arturia widened their eyes, but Jaune just stared at them innocently confused.
"What does it do?" Alex asked curious.
"... drain you aura as much as you can then pay attention to it." Siegfried instructed.
Alex and Arturia both do as told, and suddenly bronze and golden aura seep out of their bodies, respectively.
Suddenly Alex's eyes snapped open.
"My aura. is being refilled!? How?" Alex asked.
"A combination of certain runes which I used to create solar glyph, the glyph takes in energy from the sun and convert into aura, which is then very slowly distributed to the user, or if it was carved onto a part of a building... say... roof, then all those within would have their auras refilled at a very slow pace." Siegfried said.
Alex marveled at the genius of the usage of the glyph.
"You boy are a certified genius. To use runes in such a way." Alex complimented.
Siegfried just shook his head.
"If only you knew exactly how I knew how to use runes, compared to the Fraga clan, I'm not even a novice." Siegfried thought.
"No... I just noticed that the entirety of my glyph are made of very small runes, I had done some reading on runes and their meaning as I went through the family semblance book, and wondered if I could change some of the runes in the glyph to make it do certain things. And besides I have had much progress with any other new glyph yet." Siegfried said with a scratch of his head.
Alex laughed at his attempt to be humble, before he clasped the boy on the back.
"Well however you call it. Not many could create a new ability for their semblance, even one as diverse as yours." Alex said.
Siegfried nodded in acknowledgement at the praise, and was about to respond when...
"Siegfried!" A unfortunately familiar voice shouted.
Siegfried turned to see Jacque fuming at him.
"Get over here this instant!" Jacque ordered.
Siegfried sighed, but turned back to the Arc family.
"My father is calling me, I apologize but I must go, or his mustache with tie itself into a pretzel." Siegfried said.
The family nodded, with Jaune waving sadly to his new friend.
Siegfried paused at Jaune's look.
He turned to Alex.
"Do you have my scroll on you?" He asked.
Alex blinked, but got out his scroll.
"My scroll code Is 13-0398. In case you or Jaune wants to talk, he can call me." Siegfried said.
Alex smiled at that, and Jaune almost jumped for joy.
"Now I must take my leave, I bid you all a good evening." Siegfried said, slipping into a more professional attitude, before he swiftly turned and walked briskly towards Jacque.
Arturia watched him leave, which Alex noticed, as he gained a teasing smirk.
"Arturia..." Alex began, which got said girl's attention.
"What do you think..." Alex said.
"About?" Arturia asked.
"About a marriage contract with the boy." Alex snickered.
Arturia blinked before she realized what he meant and her face instantly turned red with a puff of steam.
"What!? Father what made you get the idea that I am attracted to him!?" Arturia stuttered out.
"You haven't stopped staring at him since he saved you." Alex teased.
"N-no! I'm just curious about him, he's different from most people I've met! That's all!" Arturia stuttered again.
Alex just laughed, and walked to the rest of his family, only to stop as the sound of a hand slapping a face resounded through out the ballroom, which was now empty except for the two ancient families within.
Alex turned to see Jacque had slapped Siegfried, and was berating the boy.
Alex growled at the man, and turned to stop the man.
Only to stop himself as he saw Siegfried's eyes, his head having been forced to turn to face the man.
The look in the boy's eyes was one of a predator that was patiently waiting for his prey to let his guard down to strike.
Alex actually shivered from the look in the boy's eyes.
His son's new friend said something to Jacque, who actually stepped back a bit, before the man grew visibly angry and stormed away.
As the man turned away, Alex could have sworn he saw several dozen dagger flash into existence around the man's turned back, only to vanish as soon as they appeared.
Siegfried exhaled to calm himself.
"Not yet... Calm down. Jacque will get his in due time." Siegfried thought to calm himself.
The reason he was slapped was because Jacque was angry at how he had stood up for the faunus intruders, even though he didn't see it, he had heard from the other guests, who had talked about it while they had left the ballroom.
He had also been scolded about talking with the Arcs, who Jacque hates for what ever reason, and pretty much told him to never associate with them, which Siegfried responded by telling him that his grudges are his own and not to pawn them onto him, which Jacque didn't like and stormed away. And Siegfried almost lost his temper and thought about skewering him with several aura blades but managed to calm himself down before the blades fully formed.
Siegfried sighed then walked to the ballroom door, and exited to room.
He never noticed that Alex had seen the whole exchange.
Siegfried walked to his room and opened the door, only to fall to the floor as a white blur impacted his face, and he was then pulled quickly into the room by his feet.
Siegfried sputtered as he pulled of the white thing, which turned out to be a pillow.
He sat up and was immediately crushed in a bear hug by a wild Weiss.
Weiss cried into his child-sized chest as she hugged him like her life depended on it.
Siegfried softened his eyes as he gently returned her hug.
She stiffened and then relaxed.
They sat there for a few minutes, before Weiss pulled away.
"I thought you would get hurt..." Weiss sniffled.
"But I didn't... see I'm totally fine." Siegfried said.
Weiss looked at him before she smiled a bit and cutely nodded.
Siegfried almost gushed at the sight of her being so adorable, but he fought back the urge.
"How did you do that? Make those swords?" Weiss asked with a tilt of her head.
Siegfried attempted to withhold that information, but his sister game him The Eyes and he cave instantly.
"Aura... before grandpa died he unlocked my aura, the sword were part of our semblance. Glyphs." Siegfried sighed, disappointed in himself at falling for such an adorable tactic.
Weiss just hummed happily.
"Could you unlock my Aura?" Weiss asked.
"Sorry Weiss... I don't have enough aura to pull that off, maybe Winter?" Siegfried asked.
"But Winter hasn't been home in months!" Weiss pouted.
"I know. I'm sorry Weiss but it takes an large amount of aura to unlock someone else's aura." Siegfried tried to explain.
Weiss pouted deeper, but Siegfried wouldn't cave this time, he had spokem the truth, he is true incapable of unlocking another's aura, and the strain would probably kill him if he tried.
"How about this... next we see Winter I'll ask her to unlock your aura in secret? And until then... I'll teach you a bit of Swordsmanship?" Siegfried asked his twin.
Weiss seemed to think about it for a bit, before she nodded enthusiastically, and began to hug him again.
Siegfried sighed in relief at having dodged that bullet... only to realize that he now had to teach Weiss how to use a sword.
Siegfried sighed again.
"Man this day has been such a mess." Siegfried thought exhausted, his eyes begn to get heavy, only to realize something.
"Well on the bright side... I didn't have to decline any marriage contracts." Siegfried thought before he fell asleep.
Weiss blinked when her brother passed out, but smiled when she realized he had fallen asleep.
"What am I gonna do with you...?" Weiss mentally sighed.
She grabbed the blanket and pillows of Siegfried's bed, and draped it over him, then she gently lifted his head and slid the pillow underneath it.
Satisfied with her work Weiss crawled under the blanket and slowly began to drift off to sleep.
[A/N: Fyeww! Finally done, I originally was trying to keep this about 6k words but I couldn't get to a good place to stop and so... it ended up being 9k... oops. Anyways I hope you enjoyed. So I've had a lot of time on my hands, since I've recently moved out of Montana and went to Michigan, and am currently staying in a hotel until my family and I get a place. So for a while I'll just be writing.
