Spirited Away

Prologue,

I'll miss you, Chihiro! Your best friend Rumi!

Chihiro looked out the window. Why did they have to move? I mean, the town was in the middle of nowhere! Her eyes glanced down at her bouquet that Rumi gave her; Rumi had been her best friend.

"Chihiro we're almost there! Chihiro's mother called from the front seat. Chihiro just ignored her. She was angry with them for allowing them to move. Her father's voice interrupted her thoughts.

"This really is in the middle of nowhere. I'm going to have to go to the next won to shop." Amen! Thought Chihiro. She didn't feel like having to go to the next town to shop. In Tokyo, I didn't have to go to the next town! She thought.

She looked up at the car roof. She ran her hand crossed the green fabric. The little fibers pricked her fingers. She could only hope they'd arrive the soon! She couldn't take another hour of this!

"We'll just have to learn to like it." Her mother glared at Chihiro's father. The car sped by a building with white walls and a green roof. The building had caked on filth.

"Look Chihiro, there's your new school." Chihiro looked at the building. It didn't look so great. It looked kind of run down in Chihiro's thoughts. It also had a green roof, and white walls. Chihiro thought that the colors were kind of plain, and she hated the ambiance.

Her father looked back at, but keeping one eye on the road, and asked,

"It looks great, doesn't it?"

She looked out the window again. The building was directly at her side. She could tell she was going to hate it. "So much for that thought!" she thought as mother said,

"It doesn't look so bad." Yea right! For all Chihiro cared, it was a prison. A way to capture kids! She stuck her tongue out at it.

"It's gonna stink. I liked my old school." She said aloud. She let her face push down in the soft cushions of the seat. One glance at her flowers was enough to make her scream. "AH…AHHH! MOM!" She lunged toward the front seat.

"Mom, my flowers are dying." She wined.

"I told you not to smother them like that. We'll put them in water once we get to our new home." Chihiro's face dropped.

"I finally get a Bouquet. And it's a goodbye present. That's depressing." Her mother only glanced at her. A sudden thought made Chihiro's mother jump. She gave the card back.

"Daddy bought you a rose for your birthday, don't you remember?"

"Yeah, one rose isn't a bouquet." She said sheepishly.

"Hold on to your card." Her mother said as she handed the card to Chihiro. "I'm opening the window.

"And quit whining. It's fun to move to a new place. It's like an adventure." He father added.

Trees passed by Chihiro's window. The car quickly crossed over the intersection. A gray car zoomed by. The car turned around a corner.
