Summers wind
"Oh no look out!!" A stray villager called out warning of a centipede demon about to strike.
The crowd scattered in fear and ran off in separate directions.
And just as quickly as it appeared it was killed. By a very bored Inuyasha. Who only had to punch the demon to make it's long body fall apart and shatter into nothing.
"Man there's no challenge in these weak demons.." Inuyasha huffed.
"Come now my friend. Shouldn't we be thankful for such peace? We fought and suffered long enough, let us give thanks that are greatest challenge can be beaten by Shippo." Miroku spoke in his smooth toned voice as they walked back to Kaedes village from their recent demon extraction services.
"Yeah I guess? It's just I haven't gotten to use my tessaiga in so long. I wanna blast something away with my backlash wave!" Inuyasha summoned his mighty fang from his hip.
"I understand. Trust me I do. I to miss the days of excitement and adventure. But I would never trade in my families safety for it." Miroku spoke softly as he walked with his staff in hand.
"Yeah I get it." Inuyasha said as he sheathed his mighty sword.
Inuyasha sighed deeply as he rested his hands behind his head in boredom.
"GIRLS!"
Sango must have screamed this 100xs a day. She sighed in exhaustion and desperately desired a moment of peace. With Kohaku gone and Rin still to the demon fortress training, Sango was overloaded with task with what felt like no time to complete them.
Normally it would have been no problem for the powerful slayer but both her girls were teething. Which made them temperamental and feverish and constantly craving their mothers soothing touch. Sango knew she could not possibly hold them all day, but unfortunately the girls didn't seem to want to surrender their mothers warm embrace.
"Sango!? I'm home. How is everything?" Miroku asked as he took one of the girls from Sango trying to help out. It just made Ayane scream and cry though. "Sorry? I was only trying to help." Miroku said jokingly while he tried to calm the crying girl.
"It's ok. It isn't your fault. The girls are teething and they are just a little cranky." Sango looked and sounded exhausted.
"I see? Perhaps we should go and visit Master Mushin. He and I can handle the girls while you get some much needed rest." Miroku said with his loving smile.
"Oh Miroku that'd be wonderful." Sango leaned in to kiss Mirokus cheek.
"We can leave as soon as you'd like." Miroku tried to kiss his wife back but was slapped instead by Ayane wanting her fathers affections for herself.
"How about tomorrow morning? I don't want to leave without saying goodbye to Rin." Sango spoke in a light chuckle at Ayanes actions.
"Rin may not be back tomorrow morning. We can leave our goodbyes with Inuyasha. Come." Miroku encouraged his wife to trust him.
Sango and Miroku soon packed up a few clothes and necessities and was off after saying their goodbyes to Kaede and Inuyasha.
Kohaku had Kiara but thankfully with Hachi having been in the village to pick up more treats they was able to hop a ride on him.
Sango and Miroku both fastened the girls to their chest as Hachi transformed. Aiko and Ayane playing with a stray flower blowing in summers strong winds.
Inuyasha walked the forest to the tree of ages. He looked up at the mark left behind where he was pinned for over fifty years.
Inuyasha had come to accept that Kikyo would never be apart of his life as she was undead and he couldn't change that no matter how hard he tried he just couldn't save her.
At least now her soul was at peace and Inuyasha could live knowing she had peace and a smile on her face rather than the one of fear and anger like before.
His heart eventually stopped aching for Kikyo, but it's ache for Kagome grew stronger each and every day. He didn't know why she had to leave and he didn't know how to get back to her. He'd happily live in her strange world if it meant being with her.
Inuyasha jumped up the large trunk of the tree and rested his hand against the mark the piercing arrow had left.
"Kagome." Inuyasha whispered while the summer winds blew his wild white hair around.
Brown eyes widened In shock and immediately teared as the soft summer wind blew strands of black hair onto her face.
"Inuyasha?!"
