"Dr. Weir." Zelenka stated as she rushed into her office.
"What is it Zelenka?" Elizabeth asked perking up at the positive sound in his voice.
"It's the Dedalaus," Zelenka stated, his face brightening as did hers "They're back."
'John,' Elizabeth thought with hope as she stood, yet wondering why the pressure in her gut wasn't alleviating. "Patch me through to the Dedalaus," Elizabeth ordered as she entered the control room as she pushed the feeling in her gut down. "Weir to Caldwell?"
"This is Caldwell," Came is voice over the intercom. "Doctor, we ran into a little trouble out there."
"I know." Elizabeth stated, just glad that they were alright, "It seems that all the wraith ever wanted was the aurora mission reports and the addresses in our database, they uploaded them with a virus in their information which has now been deleted."
"For what purpose?" Caldwell asked, his strained voice ringing through the tense control room.
"They are headed to Earth." Elizabeth stated and after a moment of silence she continued. "Caldwell?"
"I'm still here. That makes sense."
"I know, we were blind to not see this coming but I need to talk to both Rodney and Ronan about-"
"You can't."
"What do you mean I can't?" Elizabeth asked the pressure in her gut growing again.
"They're beaming signal was jammed, they couldn't beam of the ship."
"Oh no," Muttered Zelenka.
"Dear god." Carson mumbled sitting down. And in the silence Caldwell contacted Elizabeth again.
"Dr. Weir?"
"Put on Colonel Sheppard." Elizabeth ordered. "So that we can mount a res-"
"Dr. Weir." Caldwell interrupted again, causing Elizabeth to panic.
"What?" Elizabeth asked the pit of her stomach dropping and twisting into knots, her inner voice screaming 'Please God, don't let him say it. Please don't let him say-'
"In the battle against the hive ships, Lieutenant Colonel Sheppard took 4 f-302's out to run interference against the darts. Only three of them returned, and Lieutenant Colonel Sheppard wasn't among them."
"What are you saying?" Elizabeth asked, having trouble controlling the worry in her voice.
"I'm saying that he is gone."
'Gone.' The word resounded on her head and the control room fell deadly silent. Their military leader was missing and presumed dead. Elizabeth's heart was suddenly shattered and she had the sinking feeling that she would never see him again. The man whom she had counted on for the past two years to stand by her side against the threat of the wraith was gone, but more that that, them man with whom she had fallen in love with, but was too scared and worried to say anything, for fear of wrecking their friendship or worse, changing the command dynamics was gone and she had no idea in two galaxies where was, if he was alive or dead, or if he was ever going to come back to her. 'Gone. John Sheppard, is gone!'
Fin.
A/N- Just a little drabble that might or might not be turned into a story. Once The Link is done, I promise.
