Obviously incompatible
"You got some nerve showin up here!" Inuyasha spoke angrily.
He immediately withdrew Tessaiga, pointing it in the direction of his older half-brother.
What Inuyasha assumed Sesshomaru had done to Rin was unacceptable! He would never be allowed near her again!
Sesshomaru ignored his brother entirely and stepped closer. "Rin. You are distressed?" Sesshomaru asked.
Rin wiped away her tears and, before given a chance to speak, was spoken for.
"Aye, young Rin has become distressed as to her marital duties this evening," Kaede spoke.
Rin looked at her, angered and in shock.
Sesshomaru remained calm and didn't react to the old priestess and her words.
"She's only nervous because she doesn't know the guy! Sesshomaru, please! Tell Rin she should marry Kohaku!" Kagome asked of her brother-in-law.
"I'm telling you guys she won't be happy unless she's with a demon?" Shippo shrugged his shoulders. He strutted over cheekily and put his arm around her shoulder. "Rin, if you wanna? We can become mates? I think you'd really like it..." Shippo blushed.
He acted confident on the outside but speaking the words out loud in front of everyone embarrassed the young fox demon.
"Rin shouldn't be forced into any marriage right away." Sango began. "You should give Kohaku the chance to court her." Sango continued.
Rin again felt hurt, betrayed, selfish, and alone. Was everyone so happy for her to leave? Was that why Sesshomaru was here?
Rin could not hide the terror in her eyes. The horrible realization that her lord Sesshomaru would only be here to send her off! How, how could he do such a thing?
"Lord Sesshomaru, I request your permission to remove Rin from this arranged marriage." Kohaku kneeled.
Sesshomaru barely gave notice to the young boy. Sesshomaru gave no notice to his idiot half-brother. And Sesshomaru gave no notice to the samurai and his group that stood waiting to carry Rin off into whatever destiny she would choose.
"I can not give you something that is not mine to give." Sesshomaru answered.
All looked in shock. What could he possibly have meant?
Rin looked up. She waited for the horrible words she knew were to come.
"Rin, I asked you a question earlier. You have yet to answer me." Sesshomaru stated.
"Forgive me, my lord... I don't know what to say anymore..." Rin said quietly.
"Do you wish to wed this human?" Sesshomaru looked the samurai over.
"No." Rin choked out.
"Begone." Sesshomaru said calmly.
"I'd do as my lord says! He is not a patient demon!" Jaken squawked.
"We do not concede to any demon!" The samurai withdrew his sword.
Sesshomaru merely looked in its direction and split the blade into two.
The human group shook in fear and ran off.
Kaede sighed, annoyed. "Honestly, it be impossible to find another more suited for thy young Rin. I wish ye'd not trifle in human matters, lord Sesshomaru." Kaede looked at the demon who threatened to take her sweet little girl away.
"Do you wish to wed the fox demon?" Sesshomaru asked, ignoring Kaede.
"No, my lord," Rin said honestly. She felt a little better that the samurai was no longer there.
"Remove yourself from her side." Sesshomaru said. He did not look at Shippo merely made the demand.
Shippo froze up and slowly sidestepped behind Kohaku.
Kohaku felt dumbfounded. He had assumed lord Sesshomaru would have given him the ok to court Rin as his sister had suggested.
"Do you wish for the demon slayer boy to court you?" Sesshomaru asked, stepping closer.
"Not a single step closer! Inuyasha pointed Tessaiga in Sesshomarus's face. "I'll never let you defile Rin like that ever again! I took you for a much better man than you are, Sesshomaru!" Inuyasha growled.
Everyone looked confusedly at both Sesshomaru and Inuyasha.
Sesshomaru, however, ignored everyone and seen only Rin.
"No, my lord." Rin began to smile and take small steps toward Sesshomaru.
"It would appear all these proposals do not meet your interest. And yet you are of age to be finding a proper suitor." He walked right past Inuyasha and his sword straight to Rin.
"It is not my fault, my lord, you see. My heart has been stolen." Rin finally stood in front of him.
Inuyasha, having been stopped by Kagome, watched hesitantly as they approached one another.
"Stolen, you say? What could anyone possibly want with something so fragile." Sesshomaru spoke with a devilish grin.
"Perhaps to eat it, it was a ruthless, monstrous demon who stole it after all." Rin gently touched her fingertips to his palms.
"Your death is inevitable then. Being the weak, defenseless, pathetic human that you are." Sesshomaru slid his palms to capture arms.
They stood only inches apart.
"Demons can not be trusted. Lucky for me, I am in the protection of my lord." Rin gazed into the golden eyes she knew she loved.
"Not him again. How great can he possibly be if he has allowed your heart to be taken by a demon." Sesshomaru spoke lowly, his eyes never looking away from the warm brown eyes that he held so much respect for.
Regardless of what his precious Rin had endured, she was strong. Oh, so deliciously strong.
"That can not be helped. Demons use tricks and lies to get what they want." Rin said lowly.
The gathered group of friends looked to the two confused? Was this normal?
Kagome blushed in a smile. She couldn't believe she had been so blind to it. Rin was in love, as she suspected. It just wasn't with Kohaku. It was Sesshomaru.
"Humans are far more often caught in their greed and lies. They are selfish, weak, stubborn." Sesshomaru lifted her arms slowly to wrap around his neck.
"Demons are cruel, evil, and they'll steal your soul." Rin breathed out as she leaned into his embrace.
On her toes, her fingers inner locked, and her face was a mere few inches from her lords.
Sesshomaru held her by her hips softly. "Humans and demons, they are obviously incompatible." Sesshomaru leaned forward.
"Obviously." Rin barely said as she tilted her head forward.
The two connected gently in a kiss meant to convey mutual love and respect. He did not part her lips nor glide his tongue to taste her sweet skin.
The kiss was as light and as loving as he could, Munster. And he hoped it conveyed to Rin how much he truly loved her.
Rins eyes shut at the fantastic feeling. Even though it lasted only a moment. To Rin, it felt like an eternity.
"Rin," Sesshomaru spoke against her lips.
"Yes, my lord." Rins eyes remained closed, hoping that the wonderful feel of his lips would return.
"Would you do me the honor of becoming my mated wife?" Sesshomaru asked while gently nuzzling her nose with his own.
"Yes!" Rin's eyes sprung open! Her enthusiasm made her jump up into her lord's arms, swinging off his neck, repeating the words yes over and over again.
"What the heck!?" Inuyasha spoke, shocked. He wasn't entirely sure what surprised him more? The fact that he proposed or the fact that he had kissed Rin.
Wait! He kissed Rin! Again! That bastard! Inuyasha made hast to rip his brother off of the young girl.
"Ain't no way that shits happenin! Back off, Sesshomaru! I won't let you hurt her!" Inuyasha growled protectively, blocking Rin.
"Inuyasha!" Kagome yelled annoyed, how could her husband not see?
"Honestly, little brother. You are so tiresome." Sesshomaru unsheathed his Bakusaiga.
Ignoring Rins pleas, Inuyasha smirked victoriously. "This is it, Sesshomaru. Once and for all. This is where I end you!" Inuyasha made the Tessaiga flow with powerful winds as he prepared to unleash his wind scar.
