Not another concubine
Inuyasha and Sesshomaru clashed swords as they usually would.
Sesshomaru knowing his younger half-brother was not up to par, merely toyed around with enraged Inuyasha.
Inuyasha, however, was not making it easy. He landed a few heavy blows to the demon lord. Shattering his armor, cutting up his rich silks, and even throwing the dog demon lord back a few times.
Had it not been for Sesshomaru's agility and quick thinking, he'd have looked like a battered pup being thrown on its behind.
Inuyasha, having never given notice that his brother was only using his one arm to battle him locked swords.
"I'll end you, Sesshomaru! I won't let you hurt her!" Inuyasha put all his strength into lowering Sesshomaru'a weapon.
Sesshomaru merely smirked. He was now growing tired of this tedious match.
"Inuyasha, you are so blinded by your stupidity. You haven't even realized that you've already lost." Sesshomaru balled his fist and struck Inuyasha hard in his head with a deadly blow.
More vicious than any time before, he cracked open his younger brother's skull and buried his poison deep within his thick head.
No one could dare believe themselves a better protector for Rin than he. He had made his intentions of treating her with the proper respect known by his public display of affection.
How could he still be questioned!? How could any believe that he would not cherish the soul that has bewitched his heart?
"Inuyasha!" Kagome ran over to her fallen husband.
She set his head upon her lap and immediately sought to fend his wounds.
"Inuyasha! Are you ok?" Rin ran over as well. She fell to her knees with water for Kagome to help her.
"Ye see, Thy child Rin's loyalty is here with her own kind. Ye, a demon, can never hope to bring such comforts as a family to she. Rin shall not be thy mistress, as Inuyasha's mother was mistress to thy father." Kaede looked to Sesshomaru with a serious gaze.
Sesshomaru watched the picture before him. His Rin rushing to aid his fallen brother. The monk, young priestess, and woman slayer all grouped to make sure they had everything to slow down the poison from spreading.
"Perhaps. I was too brazen to accept your challenge. I assumed your reasoning for battle was a challenge for the affections of Rin. Not that you simply wished to spare her the same humiliation of your human mother." Sesshomaru spoke, walking casually over to his brother.
"Don't you dare! You have no right to bring up my mother! I'll kill you, Sesshomaru!" Inuyasha growled angrily.
"I don't think he's trying to insult her. Hear him out, Inuyasha! He's trying to apologize. I think?" Kagome calmed her angry husband.
Rin looked to her lord with eyes of love and trust. She moved to the side, knowing her lord's intentions. Silently she gestured for her friends to move out of his way.
Sesshomaru took to one knee. He fisted Inuyasha's red haori, aggressively tugging the blinded half-demon forward. His tongue elongated, dripping with thick saliva.
His eyes grew large and red as his facial structure altered slightly, making him appear paler and, in all honesty, scary.
He slid his tongue over Inuyasha's open skull, the split would heal quickly enough, and now the poison was removed entirely from spreading into his brother's numb limbs.
It spread a lot faster than Sesshomaru initially thought it would. Taking note, he stood. Crossing his arms into his sleeves and standing regally as always.
As if he didn't just distort his face and lick his brother.
"That was different?" Miroku said, looking at Sesshomaru uneasily.
"Thanks?" Kagome smiled sheepishly.
Inuyasha didn't speak as his senses were still taking time to come back. He had lost use of his tongue, ears, eyes, nose and even his skin felt numb and heavy.
"I do not intend on taking Rin for another four summers. She has obligations and studies I can not remove her from. I also must see to things in the far east. When I return for her, I intend for her to be my mated wife. All will know her as such. I will have no other take her place. She will not be another concubine. Nor will I take any other into my bed. I will never shame her." Sesshomaru stated clearly.
"Mi lord is most honorable and humbling! He has no need to explain his intentions with a future mate with likes of you!" Jaken squawked loudly and annoyingly.
In truth, his lord's words hadn't really registered to him at first. Jaken had always known of Sesshomaru's feelings for the young girl.
He just never understood the severity of such feelings within his lord. She truly has changed him? Now Jaken truly dreaded the day her human life would take her from his ever regal lord.
"Oh, Sesshomaru! That is so sweet!" Kagome smiled, hugging Rin tightly. "Rin, I'm so sorry! I never knew! I honestly believed it was Kohaku you had a crush on." Kagome smiled apologetically to the young girl.
"It's ok." Rin smiled, leaning away from Kagome.
She was overwhelmed with joy from her lord's sweet words.
"You say that now! But I know you better! You hate humans! And especially hate half-demons! Or did you suddenly forget!" Inuyasha growled as he regained his strength.
His legs would still not allow him to stand, but he could hold himself up on his Tessaiga.
"Stop being so hard-headed!" Kagome said, looking at her husband with sympathy and annoyance.
"I have to agree with Inuyasha on this one. However. The simple fact that your brother of all people was willing to make this open statement is something to consider." Miroku pondered on whether or not Sesshomaru was capable of lying.
He never witnessed him lying before? He did not take Sesshomaru as the type ever to need to?
"I have no need to further explain myself to the likes of you any further. Rin.-Sesshomaru removed a small box from his sleeve.-This is for you to always have on your person. It is a symbol among demons that you are claimed." Sesshomaru handed the small box to her. "You do not have to accept it if you so choose." Sesshomaru tucked his arms back in.
"I know your lying bastard! I could smell you all over her the other day!" Inuyasha growled and lunged to attack his brother.
"Then you should not have jumped to such a vile conclusion. I, unlike you little brother, have more self-control." Sesshomaru dodged and knocked him down easily enough.
Inuyasha was still weak and slow from the poison.
Inuyasha shot him a questioning glare.
Sesshomaru sighed as he prepared himself to explain.
Gods, the things he did for Rin... After pinching the bridge of his nose in irritation, he began.
