Unreasonable
Small wings fluttered atop a newly bloomed blossom.
As the beautiful insect enjoyed its morning meal, a pair of warm chocolate eyes watched in content and awe at the beautiful images on its back.
Less than gentle footsteps seem to have disturbed the hungered bug as it flew away.
"Hey, you busy?" Kohaku asked shyly.
He and Rin not having really spoken since the day that Sesshomaru proposed.
"No, just watching Mr.butterfly eat." Rin smiled as she rolled onto her back, watching the clouds roll by.
"Can we talk?" Kohaku asked, feeling like he was being ignored.
"Aren't we talking now?" Rin asked jokingly.
"I guess... Rin I'm-" Kohaku stopped in his speech as the rustling within the forest became loud with the snarl of a hungry demon.
"Rin, look out!" Kohaku jumped over Rin to protect her.
"Hm?" Rin looked to the figure emerging from the trees. "General Buru! So good to see you!" Rin beamed.
"Oh. I thought.." Kohaku said to himself.
"Girl! Ready yourself!" Buru charged!
"Yes!" Rin stood quickly in a battle stance.
"Wha? No! Leave her alone! She doesn't have training today?!" Kohaku said questioningly.
He was ignored as Rin and the snarling Buru engaged in battle.
Rin trained hard, worked hard, studied hard! She deserved the very best man to provide for her.
Even though she was Rin, she never needed anyone to do anything for her. Saving her from the occasional kidnapping aside.
Kohaku smiled. He suddenly understood a truth he hadn't realized before.
"Lord Sesshomaru, he really loves you," Kohaku said out loud before taking his leave.
The sentence was shocking, of course. However, Rin was trained to remain focused.
Buru, on the other hand, focused on the small boy now.
Rin took that opportunity to finish him off. Giggling, she stood on top of the fallen demon.
"I got you, general Buru! Rin hugged him tightly.
"Yeah, yeah. Now get off of me!" Buru growled.
Rin smiled and watched as her best friend walked away. Perhaps she was being unreasonable...
