Pure blooded heirs

"Master Jaken! I'm so happy to see you! Where is Lord Sesshomaru?" Rin beamed excitedly, clutching her gift that hung on her neck.

"Lord Sesshomaru is much too busy to make such nonsensical visits! Dwayne, ugh-oh, I mean! I've come here on an important matter!" Jaken said nervously.

"Important? Is lord Sesshomaru ok?" Rin asked about all that matters to her.

"Yes, of course, you silly girl! Why wouldn't he be! He is a great and powerful demon! Who are you a mere human to ask such a silly question!" Jaken squawked angrily.

Rin giggled, seeing her old friend get so worked up. "Alright, so then what is it?" Rin asked, smiling.

"What is what?" Jaken asked, confused. He had already forgotten his reasoning for being there.

"What's the important matter?" Rin smiled, now realizing there was nothing of importance. Perhaps her friend just missed her?

"Oh? Ugh? That? Well, you see...It's well, ugh!" Jaken decided to give in! He could not bring himself to lie to the young girl he had known for so long.

Even though he'd never openly admit it, he cared a great deal for her. She had somehow become part of his own little family.

"Rin! You can't marry Lord Sesshomaru!" Jaken began crying and holding on to her beautiful new kimono whilst begging.

"Huh? Why not?" Rin asked, both hurt and confused.

"Rin! You don't understand! You know nothing of demon ways nor tradition! Mi lord must sire a full-blooded heir! If not, the west just may turn against him!" Jaken still hung from her kimono, begging.

"Lord Sesshomaru doesn't care about that...? Does he?" Rin became sick with the thought that all her lord had worked for would fall away so easily.

Because of her...

She would single-handedly undo all her lord had worked for. All he desired. All that made him happy.

Rin knew he loved and cared for his lands because he loved and cared for his father. Sesshomaru took great solace in roaming his lands freely.

Would he lose that possibility? Would he no longer be free to do as he pleases? Could she really take his freedom...

Jaken continued to voice his concerns, but his voice had become a silent noise fading more and more each passing second.

She'd forced this. She'd cried and begged. Her lord gave her everything that she requested. Supplied her every comfort. What if he felt obligated to provide her with the comfort of a husband?

"Lord...Sesshomaru...I'm..I'm so sorry!" Rin ran off crying.

Her heart had shattered into nothing. She thought his open expression of love meant that he wanted her and half-demon children with her! He had said so! He wanted to wait to be with her so he could sire those kids that would be both a part of her and him!

She ran past her friends and caretaker holding her face full of tears.

"Rin!" Sango and Kagome both called out.

"What happen?" Sango looked to Kagome.

"I'm not sure? She was perfectly fine a moment ago?" Kagome looked confused.

"It might have something to do with my bastard brother! I can smell Jaken here! I'll go find out what's going on!" Inuyasha took off to where he could clearly smell Jaken.

Kohaku immediately took after his long-time friend.

Finding her curled up and crying, he sat beside her.

"You wanna talk?" Kohaku asked.

Rin just continued to cry. She fell over into his arms, crying uncontrollably.

Kohaku stroked her hair and comforted her best he could without knowing what was going on.
