Decision made for us
"WHAT!" Inuyasha's voice could be heard throughout the whole village as he argued with the old priestess Kaede.
"Calm thy self. It is no fault of mine ye not understood my instructions." Kaede spoke calmly.
"Calm! Calm! How can I be calm! You just don't wanna admit that you didn't mention that bit of information to Kagome when you gave her that damn stinkin tea!" Inuyasha growled, flexing his claws.
"Kagome. If you would be so kind." Kaede sipped her tea calmly.
"Inuyasha.-Inuyasha turned his head to face Kagome.-Sit!" Kagome said aggressively.
Inuyasha's body twitched due to muscle memory. He blinked, relieved not to have come crashing down into the ground, and huffed as he crossed his legs to sit.
"Thank you, I know you are upset. So am I. But there's nothing we can do about it now. The decision, I guess, was made for us.." Kagome spoke with hurt in her tone.
"I never said that. Yes, it may be true ye have consumed more than that of any regular woman needed, but ye are the reincarnation of my older sister Kikyo. If the two of ye have indeed decided to conceive, it may just still be possible. We should begin with healing the inside of your body externally and internally." Kaede offered the loving couple hope.
"Yeah? You think Kagome's spiritual power surpassed the strength of the tea?" Inuyasha asked, hopeful.
"It is hard to say. I made sure that it was strong enough to fight of the seed of a mighty demon. Young Kagome had taken more than advised. I am sure that with time and healing, ye both shall be parents in no time." Kaede gave them a reassuring look with her one eye.
"Ok. So even though the tea is designed to make women infertile. There's still a chance?" Kagome asked wistfully.
"Aye." Kaede nodded.
"Well, you are the strongest priestess I know, Kagome. If anyone can do this, it's you." Inuyasha said with love and hope.
Kagome blushed and held her husband's hand.
"Thank you, Inuyasha. I just know it'll work out. This just gives us more time to prepare for the baby." Kagome smiled.
"Yeah." Inuyasha squeezed her hand gently.
He couldn't wait to have a family of his own. This was perfect. If it wasn't too late?
Inuyasha inwardly groaned. The only demons he knew that might have answers on this were more annoying than fighting off Naraku.
Damn. Why's everything always gotta be so damn complicated.
