Rebuilding a clan of slayers

"Good morning Sango!" Kagome waved happily as she carried a basket of dried herbs.

"Kagome! Good morning! How are you doing?" Sango's smile faded quickly.

Kagome sighed and chuckled lightly.

Her friend had been treating her like some kind of broken, fragile doll the past few months.

"Sango, I'm fine. Honestly, you all can stop worrying. I'm not worried about my future with Inuyasha." Kagome smiled honestly.

Yes, the news early summer had bothered her, but it was the middle of fall, and she was healing herself every morning and evening with Kaede's help. She was sure that she'd be pregnant soon.

Even if it weren't soon, it wouldn't matter. She was happy with her and Inuyasha's relationship.

"Worried?! I'm not worried! I just know everything will be ok!" The once-mighty demon slayer smiled nervously.

Kagome rolled her eyes at her long-time friend and just giggled it off.

"I'm glad to see Kohaku and Suzuna getting along so well," Kagome mentioned as she eyed the group of teens talking.

"Yes, I think the two of them are a better match than he and Rin could've ever been." Sango smiled happily.

Kagome nodded her agreement as she watched the young group sitting around and talking.

"Well, I guess it's getting pretty late..." Suzuna looked away shyly from Kohaku.

"Oh, ugh. Yeah, it is. I can walk you back if that's ok?" Kohaku offered.

Rin and Shippo gave each other knowing looks as the young pair began their trek.

"Suzuna...-Kohaku took a deep breath and ceased walking.-I wanna ask you something...-Kohaku held both her hands and stared deep into her dark eyes.-Suzuna...I..." Kohaku struggled to speak.

Suzuna giggled, pulling back her hands so she could wrap them around his neck.

"Yes.-Suzuna kissed the boy she had fallen for since the strange heart festival Kagome had thrown.-Yes, I'll marry you." Suzuna kissed his cheek.

Kohaku blushed and smiled, embarrassed.

"Well, thanks? That's not what I was gonna ask you, but I'd like that as well very much." Kohaku rubbed the back of his head, smiling his charming grin.

"What!?! You weren't! I must've read the whole day wrong!! You were just so quiet and shy, and you weren't speaking, and normally when you get like that, it means!" Kohaku's kiss cut off Suzuna.

"It's ok. I was gonna ask you. I was just waiting for a ring. It's something my sister's friend Kagome told me I needed. Anyway, Suzuna, I want to rebuild my village. And I was wondering if you'd like to do that with me..." Kohaku looked at her with dreamy chocolate eyes.

"A village of ninja demon slayers?-Suzuna smiled largely.-Of course!! That sounds wonderful, Kohaku!" Suzuna hugged him and kissed his lips once more.

Kohaku smiled and blushed. He was happy, Suzuna agreed. She was just as if not stronger than his sister.

Now he just needed to inform his sister and brother-in-law of his intentions.

For now, though. Suzuna and her support were enough.
