Max Caulfield was in the park as always on a beautiful sunny but frosty cold winter's afternoon... Uh noon...
Waiting for Chloe, like always... It is a good thing she had a warm coat and a handsome scarf on of wool gray. She loved it.
Though, she loved watching nature scurry around in its form of a squirrel. This was a great excuse for a photo op!
As she was about to push the button to take a hilarious picture of a squirrel on a bike eating an apple, she heard a soft giggle that sounded melodious in her ears.
"Oh!" She was somewhat startled that someone was behind her looking at the cute little fluffy furry critter she was about to capture with her camera. The image forever immortalized as 'Squirrel eating an apple on a bike.' Or 'Squirrel on a bike eating an apple...'? Whatever, it's stupid!
She couldn't help but size this beautiful figure up from head to toe; and have the sudden impulse to take her pic. 'Girl on a bike eating an apple' Except there was no bike, and no apple... She hoped the girl was real though!
"Sorry, did you want to take the photo!" Max chastised herself for her bad manners. The girl was just an observer with a sketchbook in hand and no camera, but NONE OF THAT MATTERS NOW! It's all ruined, Max looked down; shoulders sagged in defeat. Her flirting career was over before it had fully been set in bloom!
'Nooooooooooooooooo!' Max groaned inwardly.
"I'm drawing, but I'd like to see the photo when you're done~" The girl smirked and hoisted the drawing materials up in both hands. "I'm afraid I left my camera at home, but I wouldn't want to steal your photo op away... Uh Max, was it?" Max froze, her heart thumped and she felt a chill.
"...How do you know me?" Max's voice was almost inaudible, intangible, inconceivable. The girl blinked blankly and smiled apologetically.
"I knew it, you really don't pay attention do you? I've been admiring you the whole time too~" The girl sighed.
Max assumed that this must be her so-called 'stalker'. That seemed the most likely, since she didn't know anyone this pretty being in Mark Jefferson's photography class. Aside from maybe Kate Marsh. And possibly Victoria Chase... And herself pulling in with a solid third place.
"I'm Victoria Chase, from Mark Jefferson's photography class-
"No, you can't be!" Max was aware that her cheeks were super warm and cherry red at this point. And it wasn't due to the warmth of clothing or the cold bites of the frostness monster. She felt so clever when describing the weather, no wonder Chloe was her only friend.
The girl seemed bemused and chuckled in shock.
"Why couldn't I be?" She asked as she tugged at her dark blue scarf. She put her sketchbook and writing utensil away in the pack sling to the side like a messenger bag.
"I would have believed you if you said 'Hi, I'm Kate Marsh' because she likes to draw and is so sweet~" Max spoke the most fond of a girl she rarely talked to on several eventful occasions. For example, the time they almost got tea together that one day like a week ago or something. Almost the best day of her entire existence by far~
Then she remembered 'Squirrel on an apple' or something like that. As she turned around, her heart was shattered by the news that they had left. Not even the squirrel wanted to hang out with her. Where the heck was Chloe?!
"Why didn't you take your chance? Mr. Jefferson... I mean Mark... would be so disappointed~" The girl smiled but now Max could believe this was 'Victoria'. Sarcasm and sass! A toxic, insecure combo! Okay, Max didn't know what she was talking about anymore.
Max hung her head in shame; feeling bullied once again. I don't know how that factors in here but I'm reading it that way. I mean, Max read it that way.
"Poor poor Maxwell, you gonna cry?" The mean girl spoke with a mock pout and Max only sniffled because of the cold.
"Okay, now I believe..." She squeezed her eyes shut like she was believing or something. What, I cannot fathom.
"Hey, eyes up here!" The girl snapped her fingers. "Speak up if you have a problem!" Max looked her guest up and down again like a dinner meal. Okay, I'll get serious.
"You are Victoria Chase!" She said and took a picture for no reason. The girl seemed to 'tsk' and shrugged like this wounded her.
"... Yeah..." Kate lied, because lying was fun. Especially with a dork like Max. What an uber geek with no friends.
It was her own fault for taking too many selfies in class and not caring about the appearances of her classmates.
