Spock knew that he and Jim needed to stay inside the cave. Outside a massive storm was brewing and there was no way they'd be able to make it back to the shuttle in time. Finding a decent sized area a few hundred metres from the opening, Spock set up their flashlights so they could see and had the tricorder run continuous scans to make sure they were alone.

Feeling Jim's hands run over his shoulders, Spock enjoyed the sensation for a moment before turning around and looking into Jim's blue eyes as Jim closed the small gap between them.
