I got bored...so this is not very good. But R&R!

"What are you doing?" asked Wilson, observing his friend with amused eyes. House sat by his desk pressing random buttons on a tiny little metal box.

"Stupid thing's broken," he muttered, irritated. Wilson sank into the chair opposite him, his arms folded.

"Do you even know how to use it?" House looked up.

"Yes."

"But you can't switch it on."

"Minor glitch."

"Why'd you get it then?"

"Because it makes me look young and trendy," said House sarcastically, violently prodding the mobile.

"If you can use it." He observed the man for awhile and tentatively made a suggestion, "Have you tried pressing the button on the side?" House rolled his eyes and threw the mobile into the bin. "Do you know how much those things cost?"

"It's broken."

"So return it."

"Threw the receit away."

"Well, that was clever."

"Oh, shut up." House pulled open a drawer and took out a bottle of brandy. "Want some?"

"So you keep alcohol at work now? I'm sure Cuddy will be pleased." House smiled and poured some into his mug.

"Well?" Wilson shook his head.

"I'll pass. Some people actually have to work tomorrow."

"So what? I'm always high anyway."

"Sadly, I can't argue with you."

"It's no fun getting stoned on your own," said House, offering Wilson the bottle.

"It's no fun having a hangover either!" There was a slight pause as House swilled the brandy around in his cup.

"So how's Julie?" he said, looking at the ceiling.

"What a way to ruin conversation."

"Ooh...touchy. That bad, huh?" Wilson frowned.

"I'm not even going to dignify that with an answer." House raised his eyebrows and smirked.

"That's what they always say."

"Who? Your patients? Or sane people?"

"Why not both?" They sat in silence for awhile as House sipped lazily at his brandy.

"I'm going to have to drive you home now, aren't I?"

"You were going to stay anyway." Wilson heaved a tired sigh.

"Yeah."

"There's some movie marathon on Saturday," offered House. "Tell her you have to work. Urgent stuff, saving lives, blah blah." Wilson half-smiled, touched that House was making an effort. They left the words unsaid.

But they both knew anyway.
