When I woke back up, it was way too quiet for a school day. So, I looked over at my alarm clock and saw that I had a few minutes until I had to get up and get ready for school. Groaning, I made my way out of my room and into the hallway bathroom, hoping to start getting ready before my dumbass brother could. To my surprise, he was still in his own room sleeping and snoring, loudly. 'Just like a fucking chainsaw. If they make another Texas Chainsaw movie and need someone to do the sound effects, at least Ezra would be a shoo-in for the part.' I laughed to myself a little and started to get ready. I opted for a more minimal look when it came to my makeup. I was about halfway through doing my eyeliner when Ezra burst into the bathroom. "Get out, worm. I need to use the bathroom." Eyeing him through the mirror, I rolled my eyes and continued what I was doing. "Use mom's then. I was in here before you and quite frankly, I'm not leaving, you absolute mistake." He made a face and slapped the back of my head, effectively making me mess up what I was doing. "Bitch!" I grabbed a cotton swab to clean up the mistake before it dried, letting out a string of insults. Once I was finished, I grabbed everything I needed for the day and made my way downstairs to wait for my idiot twin to be done. Not five minutes had passed when a loud thump sounded from upstairs. I sighed and looked over at the stairs to see that Ezra had fallen right at the top of the stairs. "You're lucky you didn't roll right down them, although I wish you had. Maybe then I would be the only child and you would be out of my hair," I laughed as you spoke. "Oh haha. Just shut up so we can go to school. I don't want to get in trouble for being late again because you can't make good use of your time." Flipping him off, I exited the house and sat in the car, rummaging through the various tapes Ezra had to listen to. Finally choosing something, I put it in the cassette player and relaxed into my seat.

I hadn't realized that we were in the parking lot until Ezra slapped my shoulder to bring me back to my small town. "Come on, we have to hurry. There's only a few minutes left until the bell rings for first period." He hastily grabbed his bookbag and almost ran inside the building. Taking a more leisurely pace, I got out and made sure that his car was locked and I walked to my locker. I had managed to get there and store the things I didn't need yet and start walking to class before the bell even rang. Passing by Ezra on my way, he looked at me with amazement. "How do you always manage to do what you need to even if there's a few minutes before class? Are you a fucking wizard or something?" I shrugged at him. "I don't know. It just sorta happens. It's kinda like how if I rush, I'm guaranteed to be late for whatever it is I'm rushing for." He was about to respond when the bell rang. The two of us parted ways and set off for our classes. I had the unfortunate luck of running into Tommy and Carol in the hallway. They had gone out of their way to bother me when I was clearly trying to avoid both of them. Carol had bumped into me, hard, effectively making me drop whatever books I had in my hands. "Oops. My bad. Didn't see you there. Although, you're used to that aren't you. No one would even notice if you were gone, would they?" I bent down as Carol stalked off. I had to be honest with myself, the words did hurt, but I couldn't let her see that. Letting her see, would only fuel the fire and that was something I didn't want to do. Picking up the remainder of my books, I looked at the watch on your wrist and saw that the encounter had made me a little late to class. Trying to get myself together, I rushed into first period and hastily sat down. Luckily for me, my teacher wasn't there yet, meaning I didn't have to worry about getting detention again.

It was lunchtime and I was at my locker when Nancy approached me looking intensely worried. "Hey, Nancy. What's wrong?" She glanced down and then right into my eyes. "Have you seen Barb today? I've asked everyone and they all say they haven't seen her." I furrowed your brows and shook my head. "No, I haven't seen her at all today. Why, did something happen between the two of you?" Running her hand through her hair, she replied. "Last night, we went to Steve's for a little get-together with him, Carol, and Tommy. I had a little 'mishap' with the pool and Steve offered me some dry clothes and to change upstairs. Barb had tried to stop me, but we got into a little argument, I guess. I haven't seen her since." Taking a little bit of time to process what she had said, I thought it was a little weird that she would just leave Nancy there alone with them. "Unfortunately, I haven't seen her at all today either. Are you sure she didn't just stay home today? It was pretty cold last night so maybe she came down with something?" It was Nancy's turn to shake her head. "No, she was supposed to come over to my house last night after the little party." I didn't know what to say, so I opted for rubbing her arm in the most comforting way I could muster. "Thank you anyways. I'll see you later, I guess." With that, the poor girl walked off, probably to go have lunch with Steve and his band of assholes. I slammed my locker shut, apparently a little too hard because a teacher had scolded me to not mistreat school property. I went to go eat but found myself thinking too hard to actually eat. I thought it odd that first, Will Byers went missing and then no one at school has seen Barb. I couldn't shake the feeling that something terrible was happening in Hawkins, I just couldn't piece together what that was.
