What the hell is wrong with him? She spends the rest of the night wondering about this exact question. Thomas is sitting next to her on the backseat of the taxi and holds her hand. First she wanted to stop him from taking hers but then she saw Harvey kissing this blond woman and she changed her mind. She still can't find words to describe the bitterness she felt, when she saw them leaving together. She has to admit that she provoked Harvey on purpose tonight, but she didn't expect that. She is aware that he was no slouch, but the fact that he would kiss two different women in one evening was a whole other level. Yes, she had pushed him away but that still didn't excuse his behavior, did it?

Suddenly a whole new thought occurred to her: what if this woman, who hadn't even properly introduced herself, was Harvey's new girlfriend? They had spoken so little lately, wasn't it possible he was in a new relationship she didn't knew about? In that case he had cheated on that woman, when he had kissed her, but when there is one thing on earth he hated, then it is cheating. After all, he had brought this woman to the wedding, you don't just do that! Although. . .

"It was a lovely wedding. You did a great job, bridesmaid!" She watches Thomas from the side and suddenly a guilty conscience overcomes her. How could she do this to this great man? Of course she had noticed his looks and touches. She knows he's genuinely interested in her. And her? She shamelessly exploited that to. . . Yeah, to what in the end? Just to not face Harvey alone, just to boost her own ego, and most importantly, to make herself feel better. Disgusted by herself, she pulls her hand away.

"Mh yeah, a lovely wedding."

"I have to say, I had a really good time, even though I hardly knew anyone… I just chatted with Mr. Litt, and Paula, 'cause you distracted me the whole night." He gives her a gentle smile, not noticing her unwellness.

"Paula?"

"Yeah. The woman, that came with your boss. Harvey, isn't it?" She just nods. She has no intention to talk about him, but she's very interested in that woman.

"Ah, Paula… So, what did you talk about?"

"We just chatted, when you two were dancing. We both were a little lost, because she didn't knew anyone else there either. She's very nice. I see, why he brought her there…" Great! She really wished to hate that woman, but how could she?

"Did she tell you how long they've been dating?" She does her best not to sound too nosy.

"They are not. At least that's, what she told me… Are you jealous?" He means it as a joke but Donna's blood freezes in her veins. Could it be that Thomas is right? Was this feeling, this bitterness she feels, actually jealousy?

"No! I'm just curious. He didn't introduce me to her. that's all."

"But you didn't introduce me either, did you?" He looks at her with a raised eyebrow.

"What was I supposed to introduce you as? I hardly know you myself. "

"We should change that. "

"What do you mean?"

"I mean tomorrow night, just the two of us. I'll pick you up, okay?"

It's probably the hardest road Mike's ever been down. He is married for less than 24 hours and already has to leave the love of his life - for years. He knew beforehand what kind of deal he was getting into. He knew beforehand he was going to jail. But it's only now, that he realizes what it all means in terms of work. Harvey, who's sitting next to him in the black Nexus isn't saying a word. Instead he hides behind sunglasses.

"You need to take care of Rachel."

"Mike, we don't do that."

"What?"

"This. We both know, I won't let you rot in jail. In a few months you will take care for her by yourself."

"Harvey, Gibbs won't allow that. My deal excludes every loophole you can think of."

"Mike, it's called loophole for a reason. I'm the best closer in New York, remember? I'll find a way, trust me."

"You self-esteem sucks."

"That's why I'm Badman and you're Robin."

"Thanks Harvey. For everything. Without you, I won't…"

"Stop it! We don't do that either. We don't do the 'great speech as if we'll never see each other again' - thing."

"Harvey, I really appreciate you trying to cheer me up, but that's over. There's no way back now. I'll be in there in a few minutes, and it's time I tell you something now." Harvey just nods. His childish manner had just been his method of dealing with this situation but he senses that Mike is serious right now.

"Look, I don't know what had happened between the two of you after I have left. As strange as the two of you acted yesterday, though, it tells me there's probably a lot to work out left."

"Are you talking about Donna?"

"Oh come on, Harvey! Who else would I probably talk about?"

"The situation is far more complicated, than you think."

"No, it's not. You just have to make it right with her."

"I don't think it's going to work. I said some horrible things that she may never forgive me"

"I watched you two and no matter how much you tried to hide it behind your alibi-dates, I saw how much the both of you are hurting."

"This time I screwed up once and for all, believe me…"

"Come on! Be a grown up and tell her what's going on. You're gonna be a dad…"

"I don't think she wants me in her life or in our kid's life"

"Harvey! I'm going to jail. I can't kick your ass anymore. Now you have to do this on your own."

"I tried to save you from this, but you wouldn't let me. If it was for me, you won't have to go in there."

"And let your kid grow up without his dad? You know I would never forgive myself."

"His?"

"It's just that I wish for a little nephew. So I could spoil him and teach him how to drive you crazy."

"I think you forgot whose kid you were talking about. You wouldn't dream of Donna letting you fraud babysit."

"Even Donna can't say no to the poor boy, that went to jail for her man." He says with a big grin on his face. Under normal circumstances he would never have made suach a suggestion. He knows very well that his realtionship with Donna is a sensitive issue for Harvey, but these are not normal circumstances. When, if not now, can he talk to him like that?

"Don't push it! Even when you set that pitiful tone, you can't get away with everything." They laugh and enjoy one last moment in peace before they turn serious again and get out the car.

"Harvey, I'm serious. You have to fight for your family. It's worth it. And you need to take her for Rachel - I'm counting on you." The older man nods and gives his best friend a brotherly hug before Mikes turns and walks down the hardest path he has ever been on.

It's been a nice evening so far. Donna hasn't had a real date in months and she tries her best to enjoy it. Thomas had picked her up right in time and they had a delicious dinner at one of Manhattan's best restaurants. Donna had never been there before but Thomas was known there. There is this little moment, when Donna denies the red wine and Thomas asks her if she would prefer the white one. What is she supposed to say? She doesn't want to lie at him but how could she explain her situation to him without shocking him? She knows the casual mood is over as soon as she lays all her cards on the table. Who would want to date a woman who's pregnant by another man?

But the situation was saved by the bell, when Donna receives a message from Rachel, telling her that Mike and Harvey are on their way to prison.

"Hey Donna, everything okay?"

"Yeah, it's just… It's from Rachel."

"I thought they are already on their honeymoon?"

"No, they're not… It's a long story…"

"Tell me. I wanna listen to all your stories." He gives her a gentle smile and she decides to tell him everything, she's legally allowed to tell him without blaming anyone.

"Wow! Now I see why you were so eager to present them a beautiful wedding."

"I just had to make sure it was really the best day of their life, while today is their worst."

"You're an amazing friend. But I must confess I'm surprised. Louis had called Mr. Specter the best closer of New York and now you're telling me he couldn't cut a deal for his own protégé?"

"It's not that simple. He tried everything he could but it didn't work out. He even suggested to turn himself in"

"So why didn't he? When I got the story right so far he's at least as responsible for the situation as mike is. Why didn't he try to save his best friend that just got married?"

How is she supposed to answer to this? Actually, she was tired of defending Harvey to others, after all, she'd been doing that since the day she'd met him. But she also couldn't blame him for something, she'd begged him to do.

Suddenly she realizes she can't answer to that at all. She herself had tried to talk him out of it but had not been successful. Then Mike came to her and begged her to tell Harvey about her pregnancy and thus convince him. But the conversation had gone completely differently than planned. She had kicked him out of her apartment and had no idea what had happened after that. She was so busy with the wedding and had tried to suppress every thought of Harvey. It's actually insane: before she had almost gone mad at the thought that she might lose him, and then she hadn't even spend another thought about it. But now it was Mike who went to prison, not Harvey.

What the hell was going on in his mind? All begging could not stop this stubborn man from his plan, but in the end he had not sacrificed himself? So had Mike convinced him after all? Or had it been her, or rather the little human being in her belly, that had changed his mind in the end? Could that really be? He made it perfectly clear to her that he didn't want anything to do with their child. So why should he let that influence his life decisions?

I'm sorry it took me so long this time. I had dental surgery and was not able to do anything for a week. The next few weeks are going to be very stressful for me too, so I can't promise you that it will continue quickly. Be patient, we're approaching the happy ending!
