He never felt so devastated in his life. He kneels on the floor of Donna's apartment, surrounded by broken glass, holding Donna tightly in his arms.

"Donna! Come on, Donna. Wake up!" He begs her with broken voice. He feels her breathing but she doesn't react. His thoughts are racing and the world around him is blurred. A familiar feeling spreads in his stomach and he needs to concentrate to calm his breath. There's no way he gets a panic attack now. He has to stay calm. He must be strong for Donna now. And for his child. He has no idea what just happened. It could be just be dizzy spell, caused by all the stress. Perhaps Thomas has hurt her more than Harvey had previously suspected. Maybe she fell on her head and has a concussion. But maybe, and that thought really stabbed him in the heart, there was something wrong with the baby...

He fells his heartbeat racing. The fact that he is still fighting against an upcoming panic attack makes it hard for him to think but the only thing he needs right now is a clear mind. What is he supposed to do? Donna's breathing increasingly gets more shallow, but it's still stable. He can't find any open wounds he should take care of.

"Hey Donna, Baby. I can't do anything else here for you. I need to get some help, okay?" He's well aware, that she doesn't hear any of his words, but he doesn't care. He's actually talking to himself to calm down. While he's still holding her tightly with one hand, he takes the other off to get his phone. But his pockets are empty. Shit! He must have left his Iphone in the car. Carefully he sifts through Donna's pockets just to find them empty too. Her phone must be somewhere in the apartment but he has no intention to leave her side to look after it – especially with Thomas still being around…

"Thomas!" That's it! Harvey turns around and sees that the other man has just got up from the floor holding his bleeding nose.

"Call 9-1-1." Harvey himself is amazed at how harsh his voice sounds, even though he is so desperate right now. But this guy just awakens emotions in him that he didn't even know before.

"Thank you, I don't think it's that urgent."

"Are you kidding me? I don't care for your ugly face, I'm talking about Donna. She needs help and I don't have a phone."

"Maybe it's just a dizzy spell…"

"And maybe it's not. Call an ambulance, now! She needs help."

"Since when exactly do you know what she needs? Have you studied medicine since the last time we've met?"

"You're fucking bastard! If you don't take out your phone right now, I'll make sure you'll really get in need for medical care yourself. She's pregnant you son of a bitch." Harvey spits out the words and he surely would have beaten Thomas up another time, if it wasn't for Donna who's still in his arms. After this outbreak, however, Thomas finally did what was suggested.

Fifteen minutes later the paramedics reach the apartment. Donna had woken up briefly in the meantime but almost as quickly she had blacked out again. Thomas sat silently on the couch all the time trying to put the pieces of the evening together. How did this happen? Why did Harvey come here? Donna is pregnant? How could he do this to her? Having his skull buzzed and the blood running out of his nose dosn't really help figuring this out.

Harvey struggles to let Donna go even when one of the paramedics pushes him gently away to look after her.

"What happend here?" One of them asks him politely.

"I don't know. She just collapsed. I, . . . I, . . . she's pregnant. Maybe it's something with the baby. "

"And what about your had?" He stares at his bloody fingers but does not answer.

He can't stand the fact that he's absolutely useless here so he tries to concentrate on his breath and stares at the floor. He has to keep calm. That's why he doesn't see how the paramedics give each other a telling look, as they connect the chaos in the apartment, Thomas's bent nose and Harvey's bloody fist. Only when one of them goes outside to make a phone call, he does realize what the whole situation must look like to them. But he doesn't care. He has no interest in claiming his innocence or starting a discussion. They can think whatever they want, as long as they're helping Donna.

Finally, as they have brought Donna down to the ambulance, they confirm to him that so far there is nothing to worry about. However, since Donna is still not fully conscious and Thomas' nose seems to be broken, they want to take them to the hospital.

"I'll come with you." Harvey claims, already on his way to the ambulance, when they reach the

"Mr. Specter, I don't think so." The medic stops him, and points at the arriving police car. Harvey just sighs. Bloody hell!

"I'm sorry, but there are some things you should explain first."

All he can do is keep an eye on the ambulance until it turns around the next corner. Of course, he cannot give the two police officers an acceptable explanation of what had happened this evening . His thoughts are all about Donna. He's almost eaten up by his worries. The fact that that asshole is in the same car almost drives him crazy. So he can only stumble and runs nervous up and down when the police questions him. Part of his job is to keep calm and confident in tense situations but he was never good at keeping control about his temper when it's about someone he cares about. And there is no one in this world he cares about more than that woman and their baby.

"Mr. Specter, as long as we don't have a statement from the other parties involved, we can not believe that you acted in self-defense. I'm sorry, but I need you to escort us to the police station."

"Gentleman, I really understand that you're worried but that's not an option here. I need to get to the hospital. I need to make sure, that Do… Ms. Paulsen is alright. After that, I'll come to you right away and put my statement on the record. I promise."

"Mr. Specter, this is not an option. I don't give a shit about your promises."

"I'm Harvey Specter. Ever heard of that name? You can trust my word."

"I don't care who you think you are. We'll arrest you right now if you don't join us voluntarily."

"Ah Miss Paulsen, there you are!" Donna sees a bright and friendly smile when she slowly awakes. She still feels dizzy and has no idea where she is.

"Don't worry! You're at the hospital. You collapsed in your apartment, do you remember? I'm Dr. Robbins and I'll check on your baby, okay?" She just nods, still unable to say a word.

"Do you feel any pain? Any cramps, weird feelings or bleeding in the past?" Donna shakes her head while the blond doctor is preparing for the she regains consciousness again. She tries to orientate hersef when suddenly her memory comes back. Donna holds her breath in tension. She keeps her eyes shut to hold back the tears. What the fuck went wrong tonight? How did it come to this? What if there's something with the baby? What if she's lost it? It can't be. She's not willing to accept that.

"Here it is. Do you hear this?" She does. It's a heartbeat. Suddenly she can't fight the tears anymore but this time they are tears of joy.

"Hello baby! Let's check if you're fine. I would say you're in week 14 or 15?" Donna still isn't able to answer. All she can do is to nod and to cry in relief.

"Miss Paulsen, everything seems fine so far. I think you had a syncope. Your body is still adjusting to the new situation: your blood volume is essential for your body and the little one. It's not dangerous but the next time you could bump your head or fall down the stairs. That's why you should avoid any stress for quite some time. I'd like you not to go to work anymore, but that's for you to decide. In any case, you should be checked regularly and your blood pressure should be monitored. Who's your gynecologist?"

„Dr. Montgomery it is."

„Dr. Addison Montgomery? That's great. I remember her from the time when we worked together in Seattle and she's the best. You're really in good hands with her. Still, I'd like to keep you in the hospital for tonight, just to be sure. But you should really avoid any kind of stress for the next few months. As soon as the baby comes, you'll have enough of it anyway, trust me."

Donna promises that and she means it. There is no way she would put this baby at any risk ever again. If that means she has to stay at home for the next 5 months, she will. If that means she has to give up her job, she will. If this means she has to cut out all men of her life forever, then she will do that too. She loves this little human being more then she ever expected it was possible and nothing will ever change that.

"Harvey Specter, are you kidding me? What the hell are you doing here?" Jessica slams the door shut and takes a seat at the opposite site of the table. She hasn't seen an interrogation room from the inside for quite some time. She usually meets her clients at the firm and solves their problems before they are taken away by the police. And usually her clients are not called Harvey Specter.

"Usually I don't get called on suspicion of battery."

"It wasn't battery, it was self-defense."

"Harvey, what happened? Why are we here?"

"You're here to arrange bail so I can get out of here. Apparently, the DA insists I need a lawyer to do so. Pretty ridiculous, considering I'm actually the best one in New York."

"It's good to see that you've got your ego back. But still you haven't told me why you are here."

"I had to protect her. He hit her, so I broke his nose. That's all." She doesn't have to ask him who he's talking about. The officer, who has called her, has given her a short summary on what they thought had happend there before the ambulance had arrived. Still she can't really put the pieces together. She never really had talked to Mr. Kessler before but from all she had heard from Louis she wasn't thinking about him as a goon. Harvey, on the other hand, she knows for years and she knows there are only a few things that could outrage him that much. She isn't really surprised that all of this seems to be about a certain secretary.

"A broken nose is no reason to suspect you of assault and battery."

"Donna had collapsed and I think they suspected I had something to do with this too. Besides Thomas is despicable bastard. I guess he told the police some shit about him being innocent and me being unreasonably aggressive."

"Maybe. I'll see what I can do. But it's not settled yet, do you understand? You've got a lot to explain to me."

"Yeah, I don't mind. Just get me out of her so I can see Donna."

I hope you enjoyed it. Off course Donna and the baby are fine (I couldn't handle any more drama myself). There is not that much left but there are still some more chapters going to come - we all need a haapy Darvey ending, don't we?

I have to thank you for all your kind reviews. We've reached 70! You're amazing.

See you soon, xoxo

PS: All Grey's Anatomy fans might have spot another great character in this chapter. :)
