First of all I've to say how incredible sorry I am that you had to wait so long for this. The past weeks were just a lttle to much and I just didn't feel like writing at all. Consider this little chapter as a sign that i'm back. This time it won't take months for me to continue, I swear! I still love to read every single review...

PS: This chapter is for my dear friend K. Consider this a late birthday gift. xoxo

It feels like it has been hours since they brought him here. Twitchy like an hungry tiger he walks up and down the interrogation room, constantly checking his watch, waiting for Jessica to come back with good news. He has never experienced sitting at this side of the table before. He always expected to settle things before they could lead him here. Although he admires Jessica, he hates the fact that now he's the one, who's future depends on somebody else. He knows she's very good at her job but he has no idea what Thomas has told the police and how badly he had actually hurt him. In the moment he had realised that this bastard had hurt Donna he freaked out. He didn't care about possible consequences. He was just trying to protect her. Like he always did.

Besides, neither Jessica nor himself has much experience with such an accusation. Usually they dealt with business law, but rarely had to apply criminal law. All he could do was hope that the DA was really such an idiot as he had appeared to be earlier.

He knows it would be much easier for Jessica to do her job, if he had told her the entire story but he couldn't. On the one hand, it was not his right, because he would reveal things about Donna's personal life she should rather tell her boss herself. On the other hand, he was just not ready for it. Jessica had already experienced some low points in his life and helped him out regularly but this time it was different. How was he supposed to explain to his mentor what an idiot he had been? How could he explain that he fell in love with his best friend, his closest confidant, but then hurt her so deeply? How could he explain that he first got her pregnant but then abandoned her? He couldn't explain those things to himself– how could possibly Jessica understand? He feels horrible and he just isn't ready to justify his behaviour. At least not before he gets a chance to talk about all of this with the one person, who really needs to hear how sorry he is about everything he did wrong.

"This Andrew Malik is such a douche bag. I can't believe he's Deputy Attorney General." Jessica tore open the door and fell sighing on the chair. Harvey snorted: "I told you he's a complete idiot. What did you accomplish?"

"You can go. For now. On bail." Harvey takes a deep relieved breath: finally!

"Congratulations, Harvey, you really don't do things by halves. He has a broken nose and a complicate fractured face. Malik calls this serious bodily injury, and besides, he seems to have a personal problem with you, so he's put up a disproportionate high bail."

"How much?"

"I don't understand you, Harvey. Why all this?"

"Jessica, how much?" He has no intention to sit here and discuss this issue any longer.

"Five hundred thousand. Harvey, I want you to pay half a million dollars." Without hesitation, he pulls out his checkbook.

"That dirty bastard's face is never worth that much." Jessica just shakes her head. She knows Harvey can easily afford this but she can't understand why he's so willingly accepting this. He'd just have to wait a few hours, then she'd have had the judge set a realistic sum.

"But Donna's worth it." He hands over the check, takes his jacket and leaves without wasting another minute.

When he arrives at the hospital his knees are shaking. He had tried to call Donna when he sat in the cab but he just reached the mobile box. The same with Rachel. He has no idea in which condition she is. The moment she collapsed in his arms was the most scary thing he ever experienced. What, if she's not find? What, if the baby is not fine? A well-known feeling is spreading in his stomach, when he reaches the room number, the woman at the reception had given him. He stops and takes three deep breaths. There is now way he'll have an panic attack right now. First he needs to convince himself that she's alright. That they both are alright. He knocks and softly opens the door.

There she is. Pale, but sleeping peacefully. Oh, thank God! He takes a moment to watch her. She looks so delicate, so fragile, yet she's the strongest person he knows. His breath stunts for a moment when he sees her hand lying gently on her belly, which clearly shows a small curve. Why didn't he notice that before? She seems to be doing well so far, only her blood pressure is monitored. The dark rings under her eyes, however, reveal how difficult the last time must have been for her. He has to swallow because he feels guilty for that.

Only now he notices that Donna's not alone in her room. He opens the door a little more and recognizes Rachel who's sitting at her bedside and golds her hand. But just when he finally enters the room he sees a third person…

"Harvey, my god! I haven't heard you coming in." Rachel whispers surprised. But he doesn't even look at her. Instead he stares at the bandaged face of Thomas Kessler. "What are you doing here? I thought you are in prison, where you belong." Thomas growls upset.

"Harvey, what the hell is going on here? Why should you be in prison?" He still ignores her. His heartbeat is racing and he feels a heat in his head.

"You dirty little bastard! How dare you standing here at her bed? Fuck off and leave right now or I'll make sure you'll never stand up ever again!"

"Mr. Specter you know you're only making it worse? If you're threaten me I'll just press another criminal charges against you." Harvey's hands are clenched to fists and he squints his eyes so that he won't lose his countenance.

"Leave. Now." Thomas takes another step forward to close the distance and gives Harvey a provoking grin. "Make me do so." Just in this moment, before the situation escalates, Rachel intervenes.

"Stop it! Harvey what happened? Why is Donna here in a hospital bed?"

"Because this son of a bitch hurt her." He finally spits out still staring at Thomas.

"You don't know what happened. You have no idea."

"So she hit herself? She crushed the table on her own?"

"Maybe it was a sex-injury…" That was enough! Harvey grabbed Thomas by the collar of his shirt and pushed him against the wall.

"Shut up! Shut up you motherfucker!" Before he could really hurt him Rachel steps in.

"Harvey, stop it! Keep calm. He's not worth it." She gently lays a hand at his back. "Donna needs some rest."

He shuts his eyes. Rachel was right. Thomas Kessler isn't worth it. He came here to look after Donna. To make sure, she's right. He shouldn't waste another second. So he let go of his collar and turned his back on him. Without giving him a second look he takes a seat at Donna's bedside.

"And you believe him? After all he did to me?" Rachel just shake her head in disbelief.

"Mister Kessler, you better leave now." Harvey thinks he has never heard Rachel's voice that cold.
