Chapter 12: Rise and Fall

Whenever things got too tough or when I really needed to just breathe I went for a run. I had been running since I was a little girl and when I had turned thirteen, Melissa and I had taken to running together because besides my family, she was one of the closes people to me. We had gotten our powers around the same age and at that time it felt like she was the only person that understood me and vice versa. Till this day, we still go for runs in the early mornings. It's our thing, it's probably the only time we can really be Bonnie and Melissa, two girls that came from a small town of witches that somehow found themselves stuck in the middle of a war between vampires and werewolfs. Together we had seen a lot of pain and misery, we had been part of that pain and the despair and no matter we stuck together.

Our friendship was forever and we both knew that, nothing could ever tear Melissa and me apart, we were bonded because I had made a deal with the "devil" ala Klaus or because my ancestors had trusted you to my line, (Damon) or thought you would help guide me during my life as an immortal witch (Stefan, and Damon). Melissa was just my bestfriend and I had been since I was a little girl. When she hurt, I hurt and vice versa- and that was why we were running.

The sound of nature echos around us as he run as if our life depends on it. In the distance high above birds fly either to find another home or to soar far-far away from the home they once new. By the water a beaver munches on a log, a fox is scurrying after its next meal. Further along a family of raccoons are traveling along the forest floor. Everything around us is alive and running. The power of nature is so strong that for the first time in a long time, I remember what it feels like to be one with the elements and nature.

Through the trees and on the trail we continue to jog, causing our breaths to come out in labored pants. The moment I had taken a tour of this place I knew it was perfect. I had shown Melissa where Stefan had taken me hiking and she had loved it so much that the two of us had starting running up here everyday. Nothing felt better then the wind in your face as you pushed your body to the extreme and ran for however long.

"Come on Bons, we're almost there, don't tell me you're slowing down at your old age." Melissa calls through the haze that had fallen over me.

I caught up to her. "To quote Cher from Clueless as if." I say as we finally make it up to the top of the bluff. Today it seemed like my head was in the clouds, in fact my head had been in the clouds since my night out with Stefan.

Seconds pass by as the two of us stand two of us stand next to each other both a sweaty mess with content smiles on our faces. This never got old. Feeling content never got old. With our arms linked together as we stand and look out onto the world that is known as Mystic Falls. It was amazing how beautiful this place was knowing what lurked in the shadows and far beyond. Mystic falls had so many secrets, which I had yet to uncover.

"I'm glad we did this." I say as cool air hits my body. "This was a good idea. It gave us time away from the mansion, time to be us." I say smiling fondly at my friend.

Melissa smirks, "Don't you mean away from Klaus." she says knowingly. "You've been dodging him like nothing else." She comments. "Tell me, does it have anything to do with the fact that Stefan is back home, or could it possibly be because you've been dreaming of a certain blue-eyed vampire?"

"Really bitch really?" I say causing her to crack a grin. I watch as she walks over to a rock and sit on it. I know something is up, she's been kind of quiet since we had all gone out for girls night. Most people would've never suspected anything was wrong, but I could tell she had something she wanted to tell me. We had a no secretes policy with each other and sometimes I felt like the weight that I had carried on my shoulders had caused her to back away and not share as much with me.

She shrugged and smiled lazily. "You ever gonna tell me what happened between you and Stefan?" she asked knowingly.

I sucked in a breath and looked her way. "What makes you think something happen?"

She smiled yet again. "Because ever since that night you've been diplomatic. The way you talk to those guys is like someone with kid gloves on."

I roll my eyes. "If I tell you then will you tell me what's going on with you?" I ask causing her to nod her head in agreement. "He told me he liked me, like more then a friend like me."

Melissa clicked her tongue. "And how do you feel?" she asked pausing momentarily. "And not just about Stefan, but about Damon...and Klaus."

I placed my hair behind my ears as a gust of wind suddenly picked up. "Right now, I want to concentrate on my magic and accessing all of it." I admit. "If I'm going to be ready for anything I need to start practicing and start using magic again."

Melissa smiles. "That's good Bon, you're a witch it's inside of you-its time for you start using your gift."

I nod and smile as well. "As for my romantic life, after today I'm going to have a talk with everyone let them know where they stand and figure out who is really suppose to be by my side." I say looking down. "I'm hoping once I start using magic again, I'll be more open and not only will my powers but my heart will help guide me to the right man." I say honestly.

"Wow. I'm proud B!"

"Thanks" I say taking a fake bow. "Now tell me what is going on with you and don't lie because I know when your lying." I remind her with a pointed look.

I watch as Melissa bites on her lips and rings her hands together which is a clear sign she is nervous. I place my hand on her shoulders. "Mel, you know you can tell me anything I won't judge..." I say when she side eyes me. "Ok. I won't judge too much."

"I've been thinking about a lot of stuff, like home." She says pausing for my reaction. " I miss it. Don't you miss it?"

I can't hold her eyes for too long before I'm looking out at the sky. "I miss it so much." I say as I suck in a painful breath. I missed everything about home. I missed waking up early Sunday mornings and seeing my grandmother who had breakfast ready. I missed scrap booking with my mother and going to the gun range with my father. I missed our coven of witches because together we were one. I missed everything about home, everyday. And the worst thing for me, was knowing that I would always miss it.

As time went by the people I knew would disappear and I would be the only one who had the memories of it all, my home wouldn't be my home because the people who made it home wouldn't be they're anymore.

When I look to Melissa, she has tears in her eyes just like me. If anyone had really known what we had seen, they would know how lucky we were to survive. However, the scars from it all would never really heal.

"I've been talking to Adam." Melissa says breaking through the silence. "He wants to get out." She whispers out causing me to look her way.

I completely understood Adam and his need to leave. Our town was barely standing and what was left was basically a ghost town. You stayed for the memories but the memories haunted you because everywhere you turned death was around you and the people you thought were their were ghosts. "He needs to get out." I say knowing about the oppressive way that town made you feel. We loved it, but we hated it. We couldn't move forward and we couldn't stay in the past. Everyone who had ever lived in our town had a love hate relationship with it. Before the war it was perfect and after it was a reminder of everything we lost. " I don't know how he's lasted this long." I admit. "Everywhere you turn, every breath you take is filled with agony." I say looking back at the sky once again.

After a long while she speaks again. "He's thinking about visiting here."

I swallow hard and captiously look her way. Adam was just as scarred as we were he was one of us and I loved him and always would. He deserved to get a chance at a new life, especially after losing so much. "Here" I say once my voice is finally working properly. "Does Kol know about this?" I say getting an eyebrow raised my way.

"Why would it bother Kol?" Melissa asked turning to face me.

I shrugged and began to play with the ends of my hair. The last thing I wanted to do was get in the middle. I totally loved Adam, I had known him since I was a little girl he was my friend. But Kol, he was my bestfriend and I knew that they both had a thing for Melissa. Adam didn't need any trouble in the name of Kol, and Kol was more sensitive then people gave him credit for.

"I dunno," I say with a noncommital shrug. "Maybe because this is Adam we're talking about and you're boning Kol."

Melissa opened her mouth. "Did he tell you?"

"No." I say shuddering. "You two weren't very discreet."

"Like you were being discreet when you were using Klaus as your power socket!" Melissa says.

I open my mouth in shock. "Bitch"

"Whore,"

"Skank"

"Slag"

Soon we're both giggling because we're stupid and our humor is our humor.

"Adam to me is what Kol is to you- you have nothing to worry about."

"Good" I say slinging my arm around her shoulders.

"I for one have a lot to sorry about with you" she says tugging at my hair. I gave her a puzzled look. "Oh please you're going to the Salvatore manor today."

I glared her way. "I'm just going to hang out with Stefan." I say simply. Everything should be good, Stefan and I were cool. We both knew where the other stood so smooth sailing ahead.

Melissa gave me a look. "We both know what happens when you're around the Salvatore brothers." She says with a smirk. "One can't keep his hands off of you and the other can't keep his lips off of you."

I gave her a look. "Seriously this again?"

I say a she giggles my way.

Mikael

Mikael Mikaelson sat in his office a glass of blood on sitting alongside him while he listened to soothing sound of the Commodores singing one of his favorite songs from the 1970's Zoom. It was one of the very rare songs that had actually put him in a good mood, and he knew that dealing with anything that had to do with Niklaus would only serve to sour his mood.

With a shake of the head he took his feet of the desk and prepared to open a manila folder that had been sent to him by one of his informants. This was the last time he would test Niklaus and if he failed then he would finally rid himself of the creature that was his bastard stepson. He drilled his fingers against the desk waiting for the moment Amelia had walked into the room, they had decided together that this would be the true test. If Klaus could in fact prove his loyalty to the two of them, then he would be a father to the son that was not his and forget about his quest to kill the hybrid.

Opening the folder, he took one look at the photos that were occupying the folder and nearly cursed out loud. It seemed that the rumors were true. Niklaus had scored him the last Bennett witch in the Bennett lineage. The same witch who had become immortal upon and eighteenth birthday; Bonnie Bennett was also the one girl that was suppose to bring the supernatural world together. He shook his head unable to understand how in the world did the notorious screw up mange to get the most coveted supernatural beings on his side. Maybe the girl was playing him, it was certainly possible especially since Niklaus had the brain size of a pea. The boy was always such a dreamer. It would be easy for someone as enchanting as the young Bennett witch to play on his need of love and affection. At that he began to laugh and soon tears roll down his face because he's in hysterics. If he could only see the face of his nemesis especially when his heart was broken, he'd laugh in the boys face and then finally rip his heart out. Oh sweet revenge.

Across the room Amelia Mikaelson watched as her husband actually laughed which was something he hadn't done in so long. In fact that last time she had heard her husband really laugh had been back when they were human, which had been centuries ago.

"What's so funny my love?" Amelia had finally asked while Mikael had looked up briefly from the contents that were sprawled across his desk. She had an inkling that this was what Huck had delivered hours ago, and the important package must have been something special if it had brought back his laughter which had always filled her heart.

A smile had fallen on his lips as he looked at his beautiful wife, his eternally beautiful wife. Her long hair was swept to the side with soft curls cascading down to the side. She wore a mint green dress that flowed nicely and if his heart had been beating it may have fluttered. Despite everything, Amelia was his everything she was the only thing that kept his humanity at reach.

He beckoned for her to come closer and when she had stood behind him placed her gentle hand on his cheek he inclined his head to the side for the briefest of moments before getting to the business at hand. With a quick moment he placed a photograph in her hand and watched her reaction to the photo of her son Niklaus with the immortal Bennett witch.

"Your son is quite taken with her." He says pausing as blue meets hazel eyes. "So much, that he's married her." He says pausing once again purposely. He had spent the better half of the morning looking over those photographs scrutinizing them. On paper the two looked like a lovely couple, two people that were quite fetching however together, Niklaus being the original hybrid and Bonnie, being the immortal witch could spell trouble if not contained. And he planned on doing just that.

What he wanted was for Bonnie to be on their side...the right side. If Bonnie had indeed united the supernatural world, it would ruin everything they had known. Vampires and werewolves weren't meant to be united...to be friendly, they were meant to be enemies. And he had known that more then anyone else. He wouldn't allow for the two supernaturals to live in peace amongst each other, he just couldn't and that was why he had to stop it before it even happens, and that was where Niklaus had come in.

Amelia had cleared her throat and placed the photos back into the folder. It had been a very long time since she had seen most of her children but seeing Niklaus had done something to her, something she couldn't admit for it might start a chain reaction that she was not ready for.

"What do you want to do about her?" she asked looking over to her husband. Mikael was her everything. The children had turned their back on her one by one after her treatment of Klaus. Elijah had wanted the family to live in peace and when she had stood behind what Mikael had wanted and disowned Klaus, Elijah had gone off to follow his brother. Rebekah and Klaus had always been extremely close and soon her only daughters had gone in search of her brothers. As for Kol he had always been a drifter and no sooner than Rebekah had gone, Kol had drifted away as well. Mikael was all she had left and she would do anything to make him happy.

He smiled up at his wife. "I want her on our side. " He says bluntly while holding up a photo of Bonnie and the Salvatore brothers. He had known all about her guardians and their track record. Her guardians were the notoriously known heartbreakers known as the Salvatore brothers, and he wasn't a bit worried about the two of them. After all they let a seventeen-year old child ruin the two of them and that was what was going to ruin any budding feelings that may develop between the immortal witch and her guardians.

Placing the photograph down he lets out a sigh while Amelia hands him a glass of blood. He was starting to get agitated with the thought of putting his trust into Niklaus of all people to get something done correctly. He was sure the hybrid would drive the immortal witch to her guardians and that was what he did not want to happen. Normally the Salvatore brothers wouldn't be a blimp on his radar but the connection that the immortal witch could've developed between her guardians could be a problem, especially if Klaus had irritated her the way the hybrid had always irritated him.

Amelia had watched a look of pure hatred had crossed over her husbands features, and she wasn't sure if he were angry with her, the situation, Niklaus or the Salvatore brothers. Deep down she knew the reason for his sudden anger. Despite the fact that she had spent the rest of her undead life dedicated to Mikael, despite the fact that she had apologized for seeking love and affection outside of their union, she had still been on trial with him, it was almost as bad as those witch trails in Salem. Mikael would keep her close but he still looked at her like she was dirty, like she was tainted and she would do anything to make that go away. This was the only way to make things up to Mikael, she had been waiting eons and finally it was here, her chance to show her devotion to him one last time.

With her head held high she spoke with an air of confidence while walking over to the mini bar and fixing herself a nice drink. "When Niklaus gets his wife on our side, then will you forgive me? Accept him?" she questioned zooming in front of him. "Then can we be a family?" she asked cupping his cheeks.

Mikael gritted his teeth as he tried to calm down. He had loved his wife, even after everything but what she was asking was near impossible. However if Niklaus was able to bring him the immortal witch, he could control everything in the Supernatural kingdom and thus give Amelia what she had wanted so desperately which apparently was her family back...their family back and offer Klaus immunity for his good deed.

"If your son proves himself worthy, I will forgive you and him." He says, as their eyes connect.

Before either can say yet another word, his right-hand man enters the room with an expression that says everything. Silently the two men look at each other communicating with their eyes relaying a secret message that causes him to stand up abruptly. Their was still lots of original vampire business to take care of, and now that he knew he had gotten Amelia on board to bring the immortal witch to their side, he could continue with other business.

"Mikael." Amelia calls suddenly feeling ill this was now or never if this plan didn't work she would forever be a prisoner in her marriage.

"I have business to take care of." He says kissing her hand.

She watches as he walks to the door and once again calls after him. "My son will prove himself. He'll do the right thing when the time comes." She says pausing. "It wont happen overnight though, I haven't seen or spoke to him in so long- but I can get him on our side." She says strongly.

Turning to look at his wife Mikael smiled. "You've seen the pictures, what makes you think that Niklaus will hand over the girl he's so obviously enamored with, possibly even in love with?" he asked thinking back to the hope he saw in the hybrids eyes as he looked at the immortal witch.

Now it was her turn to smile though it was somewhat sad. "Because no matter how much he may want her, what he'll always need and want is the love and affection of his mother."

Bonnie

After some much needed girl time with Melissa I had found myself showered, dressed and ready to meet Stefan at the Salvatore manor.

I had planned on spending the day with Stefan and since Kol and Melissa were now locked away benefitting from their friends with benefit situation which was a good thing. I may have been swearing off love till I could properly get a hold of myself but what I wanted for my two friends to realize that the love they had between the two of them was more then what went on between the sheets.

Silently I muttered a spell that would silence my footsteps and I made my way through the mansion. The only people I had to worry about running into were Klaus or Rebekah. It seemed like things between me and the original blond siblings were going rather smooth. Rebekah was slightly less bitchy which was a vast improvement from the times when she would glare at me the whole time before telling me I wasn't good enough for her brother. After our bonding session over boys she was not as bitter towards me so that was a big improvement.

As for Klaus he seemed content with having all of us under the same roof. When it came to me, he was starting to loosen his grip on me. He was still Klaus and still found every reason in the book to touch me when we were alone or in public. Often he would brush his knuckles along my cheek and smile, with dancing eyes and if not that, then he'd wrap his arms around my waist, securing me to him and kiss my hair. In all he had stopped running around like a lunatic who had threaten to dismember my guardian, on the basis that Damon got out of a line again. Klaus was an alpha male, I understood it- it was in his blood but that didn't mean that I would ever accept his barbaric behavior.

I realized I couldn't let everyone walk all over me, and bend over backwards to make sure this arrangement went smooth. Nothing was ever easy, and this thing I had going with the men in my life was bound to get ugly but I needed to figure out where I stood and what I wanted. Everyone else was going to have to roll with it or keep it pushing. I needed Klaus to accept the face that both Stefan and Damon were going to be in my life because like it or not I was a packaged deal. If we were all going to get through this, everyone meaning Klaus and Damon needed to get their shit together.

A creak in the floorboards caused me to stop in my tracks and turn the opposite direction. And that was when I felt hot breath baring down on my neck. Turning around Klaus stood in front of me, his red lips curved into a smile.

"Love!" Klaus called after her. He wrapped his free arm around her waist and tugged her to him. She smelt of honey and lavender something that worked especially on her. Soon he releases her and promptly removes a handcrafted glass rose from his back pocket. He had spent many hours molding the glass into what he wanted and finally he had come up with a rose as one of a kind as his wife.

I let out a gasp at the beautiful object that Klaus had offered to me. It was simply beautiful. "Thank you," I pause while looking up at him. "It's beautiful Klaus."

He gave her a dimpled grin in response. He had retired to his workshop and had crafted the rose especially for her. Then he had gone to his office and made a call to his hybrids that were watching handling all affairs especially when it came to Bonnie's hometown and the mystery that were her parents deaths. Someone had put a target on the witches in Harmony. As her husband it was his duty to find those responsible for breaking her heart and killing her parents. And he would avenge his wife even if those who had orchestrated the death of the Bennett line had led Bonnie to him and vice versa. He would give them what they deserved but not before thanking them of course and then taking away everything they wanted most.

His lips curl into a sinister smile at the mere thought of what is to come. He would make those pay for ever hurting Bonnie. For, those who had dared to kill off the Bennett line were the reason his wife had been running so desperately from him and his love for her, out of fear of losing people all over again. Bonnie needed to know that she would never lose him, as he would never let her go. Unconsciously he lets his hand trail against her skin before leaning forward so that their faces were close.

My body stiffens as he places a tender kiss to the side of my mouth. Things between me and Klaus were good, we were working on our friendship and I had set some boundaries that he was following which was a big improvement on his part. But he was still Klaus and he always had to push the envelop. "Klaus." I say with a warning. I didn't want to be the girl that used him like before, I wanted us to be more then lust on his part, and more then thankfulness on my part. I wanted us to be friends, real friends that cared about each other.

"Yes love?" he questions loving the taste of her skin on his lips.

This was what I was trying to avoid. I was going to have to set some clear restrictions because this could go bad, really quick. I knew I should've left earlier much earlier so I could avoid this all together. After our movie night we had agreed that we were going to try and be friends again, and not just be friends, but be honest with each other especially about our feelings. Though I was positive that at any given time one of us was lying. "I thought you had business to take care of?"

Her purses his red lips together and studies her as she has now spun around to face him. He could tell by the sudden intake of breath she had taken, and the subtle frequency of her heart that something was up, but decided to let it slide. If she had only known the lengths he was going to-to keep her -the lengths he was willing to go.

"I did" he says a ghost of a smile forming on his lips as he drew her closer to him so that their chests were touching. What he really wanted was to mold her to him like a second skin, and never let her go. "But I thought why spend my time in an office dealing with original vampire business, when I had a beautiful wife to tend to." He says placing a wayward hair behind her ear. "Now love," he says leaning down so that he's at eye level with her. "The jet is fueled up and ready to take us anywhere you fancy," he says with a smile. "And if you want to stay in Virginia, I happen to know of an art exhibit you will love." He says as his hands draw circles on her back.

I bit my lip momentarily. I had fun with Klaus on our date, in fact we were doing really well, the whole mansion was doing well. We often ate dinner together as a family, which was odd for a mansion full of vampires, but it was what families did and we were a family bonded by the supernatural in all of us. However just because we were doing really good didn't mean that I would drop everything and just go away with him, whenever he wanted me to. I had plans with Stefan and I was going to keep them.

I look up into bluer then blue eyes and smile coyly while removing his hands from around my waist. "Although your offer sounds like fun," I say pausing at the look of sudden stormy eyes. " I already have plans, so maybe next time." I say patting him on the shoulder and walking away only so he can jerk me back again causing our chest to bump. He smirks and I scowl in response.

I give him a look and his reaction is to lift a brow. "Klaus" I say wearyingly.

If Bonnie thought he was going to let her go that easy, she had another thing coming. "I'm sure my brother and your best friend, have a wonderful day planned for the three of you-but I'm your husband and they need to learn to share because I have so graciously...allowed,"

I raise a brow. "Allowed" I echoed. "You're my husband not my parent." I say ignoring the sting at the mention of my parents.

He clapped his hands together and bowed his head. "Wrong choice of words."

I snorted. "You think?" I say while looking over at him with my arms crossed in front of me.

"Why are you being so difficult- I just...just want to spend time with you!" he says quietly. "You are my wife after all." he reminds her. Since that night she had let him kiss her that was all he could think about. The only thing he thought about was the day she'd really let him be her husband...the day he made her fall in love with him and let him love her as well.

I closed my eyes briefly at his words that seemed so honest so raw. When I open them, I see the man who had willingly let me use him as my outlet, the man who at one time asked nothing from me and allowed me to take without anything in return. I saw my friend. (bluer then blue eyes looking right at me.) "I'm not trying to be difficult, ok." I say taking a step in his direction. "We've been doing good, we're friends"

Those words she had uttered triggered something dark inside of him. "I'm more then that- I'm your husband!" he says his voice louder and much edgier then ever. He mentally counted to ten before speaking. This time his voice was calm though he was anything but that. "I want to know where you're going and which Salvatore brother your running to?" he says knowingly.

I had never been the type of girl to back down from anything but the way that Klaus was currently looking at me made me turn away from him if only because his eyes were so accusingly. Klaus was insanely jealous of my guardians and whenever he got jealous bad things tended, especially when it came to Damon. After the first time I had seen the ugly side of him he had promised me he would work on those issues but the tone in his voice wether he was screaming at me, or being perfectly calm spoke volumes. It was almost ironic how Klaus had always reminded me and everyone else that he was my husband yet he seemed to forget that vow I had made not to ever cheat on him or step out of marriage every single time it suited him.

"You make it sound like I'm having an affair or something." I say whirling around to face eyes that are dangerous though his face gives off that of someone that is perfectly calm.

His rage was just underneath the surface when he spoke. "Well, you did save Damon Salvatore in front of my face. I saw that look he gave you." He says accusingly. "I saw that look you gave him." He admitted bitterly. After witnessing the moment between Bonnie and Damon he wondered if the predefined destiny and part of the prophecy was starting to alter things. He could also remember when she came home smiling like Stefan during her girls night out. The Salvatore brothers were trying to weasel themselves into his marriage and he wouldn't have that.

His words hit me harder then I had expected, I flinched harshly at his words and found myself looking at anything but him. I don't know what had scared me more, his anger, or the hurt that was beginning to surface.

"You're attracted to him, and Stefan for that matter!" he rant. " I'm not as blind as you like to fucking pretend darling." He says marching over to her and grabbing her chin so that she is now looking at him. He didn't say what had scared him most about her being around the Salvatore brothers. What had scared him was the fact that attraction might lead to something else, it had certainly happen with him and his feelings for her. He didn't want that to happen with anyone and his wife.

I inhaled sharply. "Are you trying to call me a slut who will hop on the first dick that's in front of me?" I questioned brazenly as our eyes meet dangerously.

He chuckled. "No I'm simply being honest." he says pausing. "That is what you wanted, for us to be honest with each other, so we could work on our relationship." He says peering down at her. He lets his eyes run all over her, he wants so badly to just make her understand that he was the one for her...the only man for her.

I licked my lips and put distance between the two of us again. "If you must know, I'm going to practice with Stefan." I say calmly. I didn't want secretes between me and Klaus, but I didn't want to fight either. He needed to accept certain people in my life because wether he liked it or not we were all in this together.

He wanted to smile at her admission because at least she wasn't running to, or tending to Damon, but instead he walked to the bar and poured himself a drink. "I see." he says swirling the dark liquid in his glass. Stefan was as much as competition for the affections of his wife, just as Damon if not more. Stefan and Bonnie were close, the talked at all hours of the night and Stefan drew you in, male and female.

"If you're going out then you'll need your bodyguards to go as well." he says whirling around and then clapping his hands as Max and Tom had appeared.

"You rang boss?" Max asked promptly.

Blue eyes met green before looking in the direction of Max. "My wife is going out and I expect the two of you to make sure that she is safe." He says locking eyes with blazing green orbs. "If she moves you move." he said in all finality.

Outraged I interrupted them! I didn't need bodyguards and I resented the fact that he acted liked I did. "Don't I get a say in this!" I gritted out. I got the feeling that my dear husband was telling me what to do and I had never been one to take order too kindly.

He looks at her. "Sorry love-but no."

I shake my head at him still ticked off by his behavior. If he thought I was going to go along with this he had another thing coming. I smiled curtly his way before facing Max, Milo and Tom. I run my hands through my hair and tilt my head to the side. " Can you give me a moment with my husband." I say smiling sweetly at the guys who nod in return, and leave me and Klaus alone.

When I turn to face my husband he's smiling and shaking his head at me as if he's almost proud and slightly amused.

"Your powers of seduction seem to work on everyone." he say fixing her with a look. "I'll have to remind them to never listen to you again." he says curtly. He knows who the real Bonnie Bennett is, and he knows that this will probably anger her but she is his wife and he is her husband and what he wants matters, even if she wants to pretend it doesn't.

I squint in his direction. "Do you hear yourself, this isn't 18 dot, dot, you cant just order me around! I don't need, nor want bodyguards, " I say glaring at him. "In case you've forgotten I can take care of myself."

It was on the tip of his tongue, to say not against the Salvatore brothers, but he said nothing and just watched as she exploded which was quite beautiful. "Are you finished love, because if you keep talking like that I'll take you right against that wall hard and fast." he says with a leer. "I do know how you like it." he says with a smile.

I push away from him, which causes him to grin bearing his dimples. What in the hell! If he thought that this was turning me on, he was mistaken. I didn't want to screw him I wanted to beat his ass.

"I am not your personal property -nor am I some mindless twit who is either caught up in your English accent, your alpha male behavior or compelled to follow you around like a lovesick fool!" I say pushing at his chest. This wasn't a game nor was it funny to me. "We are partners in this thing!"

He felt his face grow hot at her words. "Union, marriage..." marching over to her he grabbed a hold of her arm holding her in place. "You are my wife!" he grit out in a whisper. She had no idea what he felt for her, till death do them part, and since neither were dying, she was his- he'd never truly let her go- no matter what!

"And you're treating me like a child!" I whirl back at him with heat. I shift from one foot to the other as he looks down at me in that way, that tells me that he doesn't see me as a child. And I fight a shiver at the look in his eyes.

He gazes down at her. "You are a child." he says as her eyes blaze over yet again. Bonnie was so young, she had just turned eighteen only months ago. Though she had a body that was more adult than anything, she was still young, so young especially compared to someone like him.

I glared at him yet again. "That hasn't stopped you from trying to get me naked again." I rapt out while stepping closer to him so that we were inches apart. "Maybe you should do us both a favor and try your seduction techniques on someone your own age."

He couldn't help but crack a grin, that sharp tongue of hers had always been a personal favorite of his. "Touche." he says with an incline of the head.

I took a deep breath. "I am not a damsel in distress, you don't have to save me, or try and lock me in some tower." I say my voice softening just a bit.

He puckers his lips momentarily. "Your being melodramatic love." he says as his thumb runs across her bottom lip.

I swallow hard and swat his hand away from me. "I'm being honest." I say looking at him. "I don't want people following me even if it is Max, Milo or Tom." I said looking directly into his eyes. Klaus needed to hear this, because if he fought me on this, I'd fight back harder then he could ever imagine.

He looks her over again longingly. No matter what, he'd never let her truly out of his sight. She belonged to him and had since the first time she let him touch her. He would never let her go, ever. "We can't always get what we want love." he says to her retreating figure.

And the when she tosses the deuces his way before giving him a stiff finger he shakes his head and smiles at that. Bonnie may have thought she won this round but in actually she was giving him exactly what he needed, which was time before he sent the guys after her. If she didn't want the guards at her side, they'd watch from afar.

A.N.2 the next chapter is almost done I just need type up the last three pages. Spoilers- look to see Bonnie in her element and tons of bamon and stefonnie.
