Chapter 15: Straight to the heart
The very moment I walked into the mansion, I was greeted with boisterous laughter, the kind that made you smile even though you were left out of the joke kind of laughter. I could feel the happiness that was radiating off of everyone, even from the doorway. There was a warmth that had been missing before, one that made me curious to find out where this sudden radiance, sudden happiness was coming from. Outside the rain was still pouring because of my sour mood, but inside, inside the mansion everything was buzzing.
Curiously I peered out into the expansive entertainment area, where a fire was in the hearth and everyone was just about bubbling with happiness and ease. People were singing and jamming to a song I couldn't recall. And then my eyes landed on the man in the front and center, none other than my husband, playing a guitar solo whereas the singing had paused.
Silently I crept closer as everyone was too engrossed everything around them to notice me. Never in my life, okay never in the time I had known Klaus had he looked as genuinely happy as he did tonight. I had seen him enthralled in his arts many times, wether it is painting or music but tonight, today it seemed that the cloud that often hung above his head was missing. He was smiling, a real smile not the devious one that so many people were use to seeing. And his face was lit as he continued to play his bass guitar, as a man, one I had only seen in photos had begun to sing again. I felt like I was seeing a private moment and it made me forget about my troubles with the Salvatore brothers, because my people were happy.
My eyes continue to scan the group where I find Kol and Melissa dancing to a tune of their own, while Rebekah appeared as if she had stars in her eyes. I smile to myself and soon decide to retreat back to my bedroom. I will handle the Salvatore brothers and Elena on my own and let the people in my life enjoy themselves.
Just as I'm about to retreat, Klaus glances up and I'm frozen in place. Within a blink of an eye he's standing proud and tall with all eyes on him and then he speaks.
"Now everyone, I give you the bell of all balls, my beautiful wife Bonnie." He calls causing everyone to look my way. I smile as gracefully as possible under pressure and only briefly wonder if they, his friends and some of his men can see through armor at the scars that never seem to show but after tonight are still raw.
Klaus holds his hand out for me to join his side and I lower my eyes and soon find myself at his side. It was important to put on a united front and after today, after everything that had happen with my guardians it was even more important for me to nurture my relationship with Klaus. I would not treat him the way the Salvatore brothers had treated me.
"Come on love, don't be shy" Klaus says as he affectionately swings his arm around me. "I've got someone very important I'd like you to meet." He all but sings to wrapped up in the warmth to notice that inside I'm numb.
As soon as the words are spoken, we're enveloped into a circle that consists of Rebekah and a few people that had worked for Klaus as well as the guy that had been singing earlier.
"Bonnie, this is my son Marcel." Klaus says with such affection in his eyes that I peer up at him only to see that he's still all eyes on Marcel. I had heard so much about his son, the boy he had saved as a young child from an abusive slave master of a father. Whenever he had ever mentioned Marcel, you could hear the affection in his voice, you could also hear how much he missed him.
"It's nice to finally meet you." I say as Marcel takes my hand and kisses it.
"Likewise." He says with a bright smile. "So you're the woman who finally tamed the untamable Nicklaus Mikaelson? Can you tell me your secret maybe it'll help me in the future?" he says winking my way.
I tilt my head to the side and grin. "Marcel. A girl never tells her secrets."
Marcel laughs a full belly laugh. "I like her, try not to ruin it by being you." He says nudging his father, before disappearing in the direction of the pool table.
After Marcel bids us adieu, we watch silently as he menders away, a lovely smile on his face, that makes light bounce all around him. I had only been in his presence for a short while for introductions, and even I could tell that his presence had brought a sense of positivity to the room and whimsical ways that would otherwise be lost upon our lot.
Turning my eyes up I catch Klaus watching Marcel eyes darting in every direction the young man has sauntered to. I'm positive he's listening in on conversations as well because, well because he is Klaus after all.
"So that's your mysterious son?" I question once we start swaying to the music. "He seems nice." Not to mention is was handsome, very, very handsome.
"Yeah, that's him." He says his voice sounding too light even to his own ears. It's a wonder that Marcel is here, a glorious blessing at that. He holds onto Bonnie just a bit tighter. He's content and that never happens. Marcel is home, finally after so long he's returned home, and Bonnie his beautiful Bonnie is in his arms. Not to mention for the first time a long while his enemies are not at the forefront of his mind, nor are his plans. No he's content because right now he had everyone he loves with him . . . even Kol.
Leaning down his places his lips close to her ear. "You can stop ogling now love. The introduction is over." He says calmly, tickled by her sudden reaction to Marcel. He finds it even more tickling when her brow furrows displaying the dimple above her brow.
I let out a scuff and gain one of those rare Klaus smiles where he's all dimples and teasing even as his eyes still seek out his son. I wasn't ogling Marcel . . . okay maybe I was just a little bit but I was more interested in the way people lit up whenever he dared to look in their direction. I could admit though, that it would be difficult for many women and a few men, not to look at Marcel, he was charismatic and the result was that people around him seemed to relax in his presence. I wondered if before he became a vampire perhaps he had witch genes that were dormant. It would make sense because even when he was standing in front of me, despite everything I felt calm.
"Bonnie"
"Yes" I say as my eyes dart over to Marcel. He was certainly handsome, with brilliant white teeth and a smile that could light up a Christmas tree.
He smiled and held her closer, his hand rubbing circles along her back. "I said stop ogling not continue to ogle, love!" he says pausing only briefly. "Maybe you need a thorough reminder of just whom you've married." He whispers. His seductive mode naturally activated.
Sliding his hand ever so slowly he rests one hand on the small of her back. With a wicked glint in his eyes he took her hand and slid down his chest and laughed gleefully when she tried to remove it.
I knew this game he was playing and jerked back only for him to grip me closer.
"You're in a rather good mood." I say when he stills his hand or, our hand momentarily. For a brief moment I thought he was going to stop but he continues to surge forward lowering our hands. He's playing with me, I can tell by the smile on his face. Finally he slides my hand back up his chest but certainly not before he made sure I was reminded of why I had married him in the form of cupping him through his jeans.
He smiles. "Well, I'm certainly not in a bad mood, not when I have you here in my arms." He continues. "Everyone who needs to be here is here." He says airily. "And I haven't had to threaten or maim anyone so today has been a good day." Marcel is home, and that meant the world to him. Now all he needed to do was convince his son to relocate to Mystic Falls with the rest of the family and all would be well.
"Do you know how long I've been trying to get him to return home?" he says motioning in the direction of Marcel. "It's been too long, so long that I can't remember the last time he was at home with me."
"You missed him. You miss him." I voiced as Klaus shakes his head.
He chuckles. "I did everything short of giving him vervain and bringing him home my damn self. I even thought about and nearly compelled his girlfriend to forget about him in hopes he'd return" he pauses with a smile. "And now he's here."
I smiled up at him. "And you couldn't be happier?" I mused.
"Well, I'm certainly not going to complain–" he tilted his head to the side. "Though he did miss our wedding."
I snorted. " How could he possibly miss our impromptu wedding, who could possibly miss that?" I say with an eye roll.
He stops moving. "Impromptu you say," he says pausing to lick his lips. "But the moment I dared to lay eyes on you, draped in a flannel and knee high boots, with a mouth that was spitting fire I knew you were going to be mine for all eternity.
I ignored his words and quickly changed the topic. "The good thing is that Marcel is home and he seems to be the life of the party."
He chuckles. "They are drawn to him because he's good." He says flicking denim blue eyes her way. "The same reason so many people are drawn to you. It's not just your looks– though you're beautiful, it's the pureness of your heart...the good that radiates off of you. It can't be denied even for someone like me."
He waits for her to acknowledge his words, with something anything beside the sound of her heartbeat. He wanted to see her eyes light up like a Christmas tree. But when she finally does look up at him, he can see that the lights in her eyes have dimmed.
"Something happened?" he nearly growls. "You're hurt?"
I balk at his words and swallow hard as I feel that the whole room is listening. "I'm fine."
"Don't lie to me." He rapt out a good mood long gone. "Your eyes are telling me the truth, now I want you to tell me what happened."

Damon
There hadn't been many times in life when he had been rendered speechless. He could literally talk himself in and out of everything yet as he watches his little brother run around like a Tasmanian devil he was at a lost of words. And what was even more worrisome was that this particular moment was one when he realized that he needed to pause and take a break before reacting and jumping into action.
Never in his life did he ever take the time to pause and slow down but right now he felt like that was the best solution because anything else could lead them on a dangerous path. In the past, his method of dealing with things had come in the form of ripping hearts out first and asking questions later. However today, he was going to try something novel and just breathe and count to three before going off the hinges and possibly making things worst.
With a shaky hand he wiped his hair out of his face while the other hand held a bottle non too gently. Everything had happened so fast. Now he could see things through snapshots. His confession to Stefan about Bonnie being his soulmate, to seeing her suspended through the air with boils on her body where the invincible force had held her and finally to reveal of the girl he had once believed was his star crossed lover, was indeed haunting the girl who was given to him, born for him. So he needed a break, a pause and another bottle of bourbon.
"Are you even listening to me?" Stefan asked causing blue eyes to blink up at him. Naturally he had heard every word that Stefan had uttered. He also noticed that for once he wasn't the one trashing the room, no this time it was Stefan. His brother was falling apart at the seams right before his eyes and he didn't know what exactly they were going to do about it, or the current situation.
Cocking his head to the side he eyed his brother wearily. Every word that Stefan had spewed was about getting Elena back and somehow stopping Bonnie. Which normally would be a no brainier, save Elena and take down whoever the hell had dared to hurt her, only this time the mission wasn't as easy. Elena had been hurting Bonnie, and Bonnie...she was his.
"You said we have to get Elena back, that we have to find a way to stop Bonnie." He repeats noticing that Stefan relaxes just a bit.
Stefan licks his lips. "Then you agree we have to stop Bonnie. We have to do whatever it is to stop her from sending Elena back! Now come on, we have to get the mansion and...and"
He cleared his throat. "I don't think it's a good idea to roll up to mansion like we're trying to start shit!" he admits. "It'll only piss Bonnie off and get Klaus in our face which is what we don't need."
Stefan glares. "What we don't need to be doing is sitting here with our thumbs up our asses! This is a classic Damon plan and you don't give a shit about it! How many times have we ever really come up with a plan that doesn't involve us springing into action and doing whatever we need to do?"
He rolls his eyes though every word Stefan uttered was correct. In the past it didn't matter who they hurt, what they did, as long as Elena was safe. But how could you really protect a ghost?
"This is different, things are different now and you know it! If we attack Bonnie, the same way we've attacked others, it's just not her, we're going against, it's the elders, the Mikaelson and perhaps our action might wipe out the whole supernatural world." He says dryly. "So please forgive me Stefan for wanting to fucking think before I leap."
Stefan says nothing but just glares at his brother. "Had this been a year ago you wouldn't give a damn about anyone but saving Elena." He says with a chuckle. But now that you believe that Bonnie belongs to you that she's your soulmate you don't give a damn about Elena or the life she should be living!" he yelled. "The life Elena and I should be living together...and we would be had you not interfered."
He couldn't help but look down at the oh so very true words.
"You owe me Damon, do you hear me! You owe me, for all the times I saved you...now I need you to save me." Stefan says his voice shaking. "Help me." he pleaded.
He bit his lip and then nodded. "Okay, I will help you." He says standing. "But nothing happens to Bonnie, nothing, you don't touch her."
Stefan held his hands up in the air. "I won't. But I do think you're right we need a plan. And I have one." He says noticing his brothers raised brows. "How about we go to the mansion, you show up drunk and while you're distracting everyone, I find Bonnie and knock her out with one of Rics sleep darts. We just need her to be down long enough for her to calm down."
Methane blue eyes look up as he swallows hard. The mere sound of his brothers voice made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. Stefan could be bad ass when he wanted to be, the problem with that was, he didn't want him anywhere near Bonnie.
"Or I can distract her and you make a scene, flirt with boyfriend." He says with wiggled brows.
Stefan folds his arms in front of his chest. "She'll most likely distract you. What about Bree can't she bind her powers or something long enough for us to talk some sense into her."
He frowned. They weren't going to use Bree, she was his friend his only friend and he wasn't about to drag her into some shit that would get her killed or cursed. "That's out of the question. Bree would never hurt Bonnie or go against her, it's a sister witch thing." he says with a shrug.
Stefan shifts from one foot to the other. "Fine, you distract Bonnie, calm her down and I'll talk to Klaus."
"Good." He says releasing a breath he hadn't known he was holding. " We can leave the sleep darts at home too, I think it'll only piss her off even more." He says jumping to his feet. "Lets get this over with." He says heading to the front door.
Stefan buries his hands in his pockets as a sudden thought comes to him."Okay, I'll meet you– I have to get something out of my room."
He gives his brother a look. "No sleep darts, Stefan promise me you wont touch her?" he says blue eyes turning a shade light as ice.
Stefan smiles. "I wont. Bonnie is going to save us all. I just need to get something and then I'll be back." he says flashing out of sight.
KM-KM
Klaus
If one word could describe Nicklaus Mikaelson, the word would be unpredictable. He was an ill-tempered man who on most days had no time for bullshit and pretenses. He was a thinker, someone who was constantly planning for the next battle and yet irrational at the same time. It was well known that if you got on his bad side, which many had done so in the past he'd skip right to the end which usually resulted in the death of plenty of people. He had no qualms about being the "bad guy" because he was good at it. People, even those in the supernatural realm also held themselves higher than others . . . and well someone had to be the bad guy. So why not give the people what they wanted. They wanted a bad guy and he was the best at being bad. He was naturally untouchable, stronger than any vampire or werewolf, afraid of literally nothing, that was until today.
Today, someone had hurt Bonnie. Someone had dared to make a move against his wife. His queen and that did not sit well with him. The mere thought, the mere sight of his wife and knowing that somehow she had been hurt . . . and that had terrified him in ways nothing had done so before. Even the beating he had suffered as a child was not nearly as horrifying as looking into the mint eyes of his wife and seeing a scared girl.
He takes a long drag from his cigar and stares knowingly at the girl in the inflamed circle. Elena Gilbert lets out screams and he can feel nothing but anger toward the girl who had nearly shaken his wife to the core. She and whomever she was working for, had no idea what they had just started. As for the Salvatore brothers he'd teach them a lesson they'd remember for the rest of their miserable lives. He was a man that was fully prepared to go to war against anyone but the person who had sent this bitch in ghost form to attack his wife, he'd make sure he had their head on a silver platter and displayed it in his home like a trophy.
A piercing scream erupted from her lungs and he didn't even batt an eyelash. Instead he puffed at his cigar before snuffing it out completely. He would remind Elena Gilbert what pain really felt like when she watched the life she once knew go up in flames. He'd pick apart everyone she loved and then at the end he'd make her beg to end her only to find out that the end she'd have to kill those she loved most to stop his reign of terror.
"Scream all you want!" he says standing to his full height and expanding his arms outwards. "No one will ever save you again!" he says glaring at the dopplebitch! He watches as the flames continue to burn brighter with each second and can't help but feel pride swell inside of him. His wife was amazing. Bonnie, was not even in the room with them and her power burned brighter than the sun.
She was something special and he would protect her with his everything.
At the mere thought of his wife, he unconsciously began to spin his wedding ring round and round. Bonnie was everything he had ever wanted in a woman, she was strong oh so brave but what had made her so real, so alluring was the fact that she was honest. Though at times she tried to hide from him, the moment she had come home, he saw it in her eyes, he saw the real her and he would protect her with his life. She had broken down in front of him, in front of everyone and he loved her for that because he could never be so honest but she could. And the moment he had seen the first tears drop he had decided those who hurt her had hurt him as well. He was taking this attack personally and everyone should be on guard because he was going to get them!
"I HATE YOU!" Elena screams. Being back here with him, was torture. She hated everything about him. From the smug look he had given everyone to the mere fact he had wanted nothing but to see her dead. And here she was dead and he was still haunting her.
He shrugs shoulders and keeps his piercing gaze on her. "The feeling is bloody mutual." He says grinning. "You know, I've been wondering since you're obviously visible on earth, if you could feel pain?" he says a dimpled grin forming as her eyes widen.
"Stay, stay away from me." She says backing away but finding a barrier. The flames seem to be getting higher and the heat unbearable. The only thing that keeps her calm is knowing that soon they will come for her. She can handle Klaus and his mind games and whatever that Bennett witch brings her way.
His brows rise. "You're scared, good!" he says leaning her way. "You see, while you're in this realm living and breathing, you belong to my wife" He says his eyes flickering before chuckling in her face. "And you should be very scared because, you messed with the wrong witch." He says thoughtfully.
Elena scuffs again.
"But right now, you're mine!" He says his tone sharp. When she shivers, he can't help but grin yet again. He hadn't lost his touch! Damn it felt good to be king!
She shook her head. "You can't touch me! Your bitch of a wife made sure of that!" she says boldly.
"Speak another ill word against my wife and I'll make your worst nightmare come true." He says dangerously, as he steps closer to the fire. "I'll rip Caroline's heart and feed it to your brother. Then I'll compel the jock who broke my sisters heart to kill himself." He says pausing watching as her eyes widen. "Of course this would all happen in front of fragile, fragile Jeremy." He growls darkly.
"You . . . you" she says pointing her finger accusingly at him.
"Try me." He says whilst fixing himself a drink. Turning around to face her he wears an amused face. Elena was so simple, though she loved her family he knew the only thing that could really hurt her was if he had gone after her men. "And when I'm finished with them, I'll go after your lovers." He says cheekily. What he has in store for the Salvatore brothers, makes him giddy with glee.
She glares his way.
"I dare you." He says watching as her lip begins to tremble in what he can only guess is fear. Tossing back the remains of his drink, he turns to face her. The girl in front of him is so familiar yet so much different. Once upon a time he had found himself smitten with her ancestor Tatia. She was just a village girl that wanted more from life and he had understood it. He wasn't in love, not true love but he did have a soft spot for her. When he met Katherine sometime later, he realized that they shared nothing but the same face. Whereas Tatia was innocent in her own way and shy, Katherine was the opposite. He had enjoyed his time with Katherine, enjoyed the benefits of her need to defy all odds and run with the wolf. But he didn't care much for her. They had a complicated past and even now she still irritated the shit out of him. She did have her useful moments though.
Looking at Elena Gilbert now, he didn't see half as much as he had seen in her ancestors. No when he looked at Elena, he saw a spoiled girl, who was whiny, mediocre and really not worth the fuss. How she managed to tear two brothers apart was a mystery to him? Though if he were honest the Salvatore brothers were not like the brothers on that one show who went to hell and back for each other. Yeah that was more his style with his siblings. He may hate them most of the time, but not a single person would dare to hurt them, not while he was around.
Back on track, he raked his eyes all over the girl that had broken so many hearts. He had heard she had a track record, not just with brothers but breaking the hearts of local town folk. He didn't understand what the pull was though. Unlike Tatia who was innocent, Katherine who at least was fun, Elena was just plain boring. She tried too hard to be good. Everything about her was fake, from her sympathy to her smile. The girl had nothing going for her, well except her face. She was pretty but pretty could only get you so far.
Breaking the silence, he speaks. "You know I never understood the hoopla about you." He says leaning against his desk. "You're an egoist and that says something coming from me!" smile. "At most you're a harlot who likes to go between brothers. A tease." He says with a small shrug. "Everyone wanted you but you have nothing to offer them, not anything genuine because your love is as fickle as the local weather, it changes on the whim."
She grits her teeth. "You know nothing about me."
He laughs at that. Elena was transparent as glass and just as boring as watching paint dry. "Your heart is just so big that you love everyone." He says batting his eyes at her. "You're nothing like Katherine," he muses. "But you wish you were the force that she use to be."
"Are you forgetting I got to your little wife?"
He laughed yet again, roared even. "What did I tell you about speaking ill of my wife?" he questioned teeth gritted so hard he nearly broke his teeth.
Fast as lighting he jumped through the barrier ignoring the flames that were lapping at his feet. He looked into wide brown eyes that were watery and clearly frightened and marveled at her fear.
Tilting his head to the side, he smiled revealing the crescents in his, winked a gold eye and then sunk his teeth into her flesh.
"I told you. I'd make your worst nightmares come true." He says now drinking blood out of a glass. He's back at his desk admiring his handy work. His bite was poisonous to anyone he sank his teeth in with gold eyes and poor little Elena was about to suffer the bite of a werewolf. That would teach her ass, after this she'd want to stay dead.
She screams and soon crumbles to the ground causing a roar to escape his lips. "That'll teach you for speaking ill about my wife." he whispers before sitting back at his desk and ready to enjoy the show. Let the hallucinations begin.

Elena
She can feel the fire around her getting hotter all around her. She was dying for real this time and as the moments went by she realized she may not get to see them. It appeared the Bennett witch had set a trap for her and she felt like the other side was calling her. And if she didn't figure out a way out soon they'd send her back. And that was the last thing she wanted. She needed to see the guys, she needed to make them realize that getting rid of Bonnie was the best for everyone. Yeah they may have developed crush on the green-eyed girl, but that crush could never compare to the love they had felt for her? Nothing could ever compare to the love the three of them shared. It may have not been conventual but it was what they were dealing with.
Blurry eyes squint to make out a shadow and she swears, it's Klaus again. He's back for more torture and just as she's about to move closer to the fire, her blurry eyes focus and she realizes that they've come! Her saviors have come to rescue her! No longer would she have to endure any threats from that monster Klaus or that wicked witch Bonnie!
"You guys are here?" she says a small smile forming on her lips. "You chose me." She says more to herself. She tries to move but the room begins to spin and decides to rest for just a moment.
It had been horrible watching the loves of her life bask in the company of someone else. Bonnie had made Stefan smile, she had helped him get rid of guilt that he had bottled up for more than a hundred years. The witch had gotten in deep with Stefan, sharing things with him and vice versa and she hated watching it. Hated the thought of another girl putting back the broken pieces that were meant to stay broken without her. As for Damon, watching him sincere with someone and for once honest had hurt because he had never been those things with her. Yes he tried but with Bonnie he wanted to do this not just to please her but for himself. And she hated it!
"You would think that wouldn't you?" Stefan says walking close to the fire and then squatting just outside the ring. "It's predictable isn't it. I always put you first, cast my feelings and sanity aside because you were the love of my life." He muses grey eyes stormy as he looks at the fire. "I loved you and what did you do to repay me?" he asks finally looking her way.
Brown eyes widen. No, he couldn't possibly know, not what happen while he was off with Klaus. He couldn't know that she was untrue, while he had given his life away to save his brother. Stefan couldn't know what she did . . . what they did because then he'd never love her the same way he did before. He'd look at her the way he looked at Katherine. And she was not Katherine. She was better, kinder, gentler that was what separated her and Katherine.
"Don't you have anything to say Elena? The floor is yours to speak your truth!" Stefan says his voice lacking emotion.
She blinks back tears.
"Through it all, I never stopped loving you." She cries as silent tears fall down her face. "I needed a distraction from the pain I felt without you."
"Liar!" Damon roars. "You wanted me, and you used him being gone a reason to jump off the cliff, and run wild. I wanted you, at least, I could admit that. But you" he says pointing an accusing finger her way. "You were being greedy. You wanted the light along with the dark."
She shakes her head. "That's not what happened and you know that!" she declares looking into angry eyes.
"You still fell into my bed didn't you, and Stefan your Stefan was lost." He says icily.
She turns her eyes away from Damon the chill coming from him too much too bare and finds Stefan..her Stefan. And what she see's makes, her jerk back instantly. The love, the love she had always seen in his eyes was fading away till she saw nothing.
Finding her strength she stood up and faced ice blue eyes. "You wanted to hurt me! Why-why would you do this to me?" she begged. "Why are you taking him away from me?" she demanded nearly breathlessly as she stares at what many had called the soulless Damon Salvatore.
Damon clicks his tongue and soon puts a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Its only right that I do to you what you did to me." He says smiling a practiced smile. "Without you, here fogging up my senses and my sight, I've finally found the love of my life." He says smiling. "And spoiler alert, she looks nothing like you."
She looks at him confused.
"What are you talking about?"
"Bonnie" Stefan chimes in a smile gracing his lips and lighting up his eyes.
"It's because of you, the love of my life is still married to Klaus." Damon says with distaste. "It's because of you my child will be raised without knowing whom her true father really is."
She turns away from Damon to look at Stefan and it's what he says that causes her to lose it.
"Its because of you– the one person who could save me, who did save me turned her back on me. You're the reason I'm a monster. You love it tarnished me."
She crumpled to the ground and let out wails. She had lost them, she had lost them both and everything they had gone through meant nothing because now she was just a memory.
The unforgettable Elena Gilbert, was now forgettable.
BB-BB-BB
Bonnie
An hour later, I felt somewhat relax. I was still very much angry and my magic was acting accordingly. After returning to the mansion and talking to my family, (yeah that was new) I realized that since moving to Mystic Falls, all I wanted to do was blend in. I would never blend in again. I was born to do great things, and for the first time in a long time the ancient blood running through me, the magical essence that had been confined for so long was ready to be released. I could feel my magic inside of me, feel the strength of my ancestors and where I had been scared before, now I was ready to roll.
I may have lost a lot in my life, but right now I was ready to reclaim and own it, and I had to thank the people that cared about me because without them, I'd probably still be upset. Of course my epiphany may have come at an odd time, but I realized that despite losing my family, I had people around me that loved me and wanted to see me soar and it was with them at my side that I would do so.
Flashback
After my confession the house was silent. You could feel the tension as everyone was probably trying to figure out what that meant for them. If someone was after me, then that meant that sooner or later they would come for the people who I surrounded myself with.
I'm waiting for someone to abandon me, namely the people who weren't Melissa and Kol and when it never came I blinked in surprise.
Before my very own eyes Rebekah and Marcel started making a list of the most powerful witches, or at least witches who had enough pull to send a ghost my way. Next, I looked to Melissa and Kol who were now searching through some of the spell books Kol had collected to find the spell that was used for Elena to attack me.
Lastly I looked up at my husband who had been eerily quiet.
"Come with me, right now" Klaus murmurs as he blindly reaches for me.
I naturally have all of two seconds to make eye contact with everyone in the room. Kol and Melissa are the first I make eye contact with. Melissa, of course looks worried while Kol looking smoking mad. Next I see Rebekah who has stopped writing at the sound of her brother voice and poor Marcel, who came home at the wrong time looks on.
It takes us nearly no time to reach my bedroom as Klaus has nearly flung me into the bedroom and slams the door. His eyes are wild and flashing between denim blue and gold and I can tell he's angry. I can literally feel his anger and honestly im not sure if he's more upset that I shared my magic with Stefan, or the fact that I brought new enemies to the people he cared about.
"Spell the room." He says advancing on her. "Spell the room so they can't hear anything." He says now pacing almost restlessly.
I swallow hard. "It's already spelled." I gasp out before his lips are crashing onto me. His body collides with mine as his hands clung to my skin, groping and squeezing. He keeps looking at me as if he can't believe that I'm standing before him. His swift tongue works magic on me and nearly causes me to stumble back. But his firm hands on me keeps me steady.
This was the last thing I expected from him and just when I'm about to pull away he does something that surprises me...he pulls away and cups my face tenderly. The look in his eyes, is possibly the softest, I've ever seen.
I swallow hard before speaking."K- Klaus." I say holding my hands out to keep him at bay.
"You could've been hurt," he says suddenly. " I could've lost you." He says emotion written all over his face.
The time I had been with Klaus I found that he was a mystery. I had watched him tear people apart but at times he could be sweet and gentle. And right now, he was standing in front of me looking at me as if I were his world.
I lick my lips and step closer to him. "She just wanted to scare me." I say more for his benefit than mine.
He sends me a look and soon interlinks our hands. "You and I both know differently. She came from the other side and purposely made contact with you."
I turn my head unable to look at those denim blue eyes that were looking at me imploringly.
"Someone is after me." I finally admit with a shaky breath. I feel eyes on me and look up to meet the knowing eyes of my husband. He rubs my hand as if to soothe me and surprisingly he did it had worked, it pushed me forward. "I think whoever killed my parents are trying to get to me again." Swallowing hard I speak again. "They used Elena because she was connected to the Salvatore brothers and well we both know about them."
He nods his head seeing exactly where her train of thought had gone. He needed her to fight and he would fight alongside her. He would never let anyone hurt her, never again not the Salvatore brothers, not Elena Gilbert and certainly not some obvious jealous witch.
"Are you going to let them get you? Bring you down and scare you?" Klaus asked stepping into my personal space again.
"No." I say simply. "No" I say again as the magic in my veins hums. I can hear it, I can feel it...the magic is inside of me dying to come out.
"No" I say again, determination laced in my voice. I could not cower and hide, I could not allow someone to dare and spit in the face of my family. A family that had given up so much so I could be where I am today. "I am the last Bennett witch to ever be born, the immortal witch and heir to the supernatural kingdom. I'm not going to let anyone take what's mine!" I say gaining a genuine smile from Klaus.
"That's what I like to hear." He says huskily while gazing at me with fire in his eyes. The wolf is out, I can see it in his eyes, hence the reason he is now sporting, one copper tinted eye while the other is my favorite shade of blue.
Adrenaline runs through me as I continue to speak. "I won't let anyone take anything else from me, not my life and not my destiny."
He soon smiles that slow Klaus smile that makes him look more boyish then ever. "Neither will I." He says bringing me close to him, only to wrap his arms around me. He's settled behind me and holding me close as he speaks. "I won't let anyone hurt you either love. You are my wife, which means you are mine to love and protect for all of eternity."
I roll my eyes as he moves his hand to latch onto mine, he joined our left hands together and I can't help but look at my wedding ring.
He soon turns my face so that I can at least look at him. "You can scold me later for speaking the obvious. You are mine Bonnie. The first time I met you I knew you'd be mine."
I let out a scoff and whirl around to face him only to notice that he's gotten a mischievous look on his face.
"First thing though, we need to address the family because, this is of course a family matter."
I lick my lips. "I don't want to further drag you and your family into my mess."
He puts his finger over my lips stopping any other words from coming out of my mouth.
"You should know love that we Mikaelson take our family business seriously and most importantly– you are my wife." He holding up her left hand which still held his symbol of devotion to her. "And once you come after one of us, you get all of us."

Arriving to the great room, I found the remaining family members. The party had been cleared out upon my arrival leaving only the bodyguards, trusted hybrids and of course the rest of the family. With Klaus by my side I took a deep breath before finally speaking.
"Go on love. The floor is yours." Klaus whispers into my ear before kissing my cheek.
I nod at him and turn my attention to the room. "As you all know, someone had made an attack on me. They used the ghost of my guardians to get to me and show the true colors of the Salvatore brothers." I say pausing as Klaus squeezes my hand in a comforting way.
"I don't expect you guys to fight my battles or expect you to join me. I just thought you should know what's going on, in case it somehow affects you." I say easily. "The last thing I want is for someone to hurt any of you because they want me." I say sucking in a big breath. "And that is why I plan on finding the witch," I say looking at Melissa. "Or warlock responsible for this attack and dealing with them accordingly."
Klaus suddenly speaks. "I think what my wife is trying to ask you lot, is if you're ready to go to war Mikaelson style?"
He gets a few laughs before everyone turns serious.
Kol is the first to speak. "Kitten, I've been itching for a fight, so of course I'll join you." He says suavely as ever.
I beam at him."Thank you Kol, for everything."
Next Melissa speaks.
"You know, I'm ride or die! I've already been in touch with Adam and he wants to help to. He's going to be on the next plane out to see if he can see anything." Melissa says smiling. "We're going to get whomever is after you- I promise."
I smile at her, As Rebekah makes a big show of fixing herself a drink. "I haven't tortured anyone in a while, so lets get this thing going."
My eyes soon landed on Marcel. He was probably thinking he came back at the wrong time and for that I was terribly sorry. Just like Melissa he could die, though his chances were severely higher then my bestie. After all he was a vampire. Patiently I wait for his response. Honestly he didn't owe me jack shit and we just met. Yet when he smiled my way I knew, he too was joining my team.
"We're a family and that means we stick together." Marcel says before turning to look at his father. "Whatever you need, I'll help all I can." He says causing Klaus to give him a hug.
I don't have to look at Klaus because he's made his position very clear. Yet I can't help but look his way and that moment the room clears out leaving the two of us alone.
"I think this goes without saying but, I will do anything to protect you love. You are my Queen and it is my duty as true king to serve you." He pauses to lick his lips. "But first I'd like a little chat with Ms. Elena Gilbert.
My mouth hitched up, I had already planned on summoning Elena. Looking to the clock I noted that her time had run out with the Salvatore brothers. Now, Elena Gilbert belonged to me.
End of flashback
True to my word I had given Klaus his time with Elena. He had wanted a moment to do what I could only imagine he did best. Which usually consisted of terrifying his enemies. Though I had never really seen it to the extent of others, I had witnessed enough without seeing too much. My husband had tended to keep his temper most times in check, and when it came to what occurred with his enemies he certainly kept the ins and outs of his business away from me. He was a terrifying man, and he come face to face to just how terrifying he truly was when I walked into the room that held Elena.
"What have you done to Jeremy?" Elena screamed as her watery eyes bounced all over Klaus. She looked like she had been through hell. Her hair was a ragged mess and her eyes were swollen probably from crying. My eyes widen at the gaping wound in her neck. It appeared the curse was starting to take it toll and weaken her.
Klaus leans forward. "Oh, I haven't done anything to him just yet, but the witch he's with right now.." he says a smile growing on his face. "Well you never know she might get the
aching feeling to carve his heart out if you don't give us any answers." he says a smirk forming on his lips. "Isn't that right Melissa?" he asked holding the phone up so that Elena could see Melissa.
Melissa flashed her long nails and smiled. "Possibly. Or I could do much more." she says winking. "I promise to be gentle."
"That's enough." I say, causing both Elena and Klaus to look my way. I've already recharged my batteries, and not in the form of getting naked with my husband. And now I was ready to face everything head on.
I walk further into the room and stand next to Klaus who is still grinning. "Elena you look horrible, I truly hope it has nothing to do with me." I say looking down at the burn marks that are literally littering her wrist.
She winces and soon stands to her feet. "You bitch!" she spits out as the fire continues to burn bright and the shackles on her feet get even tighter. The restraints wrap around as her fear and hatred continues to burn brighter. "My brother has nothing to do with this!" she screams. "If you hurt him, you'll just be like your husband and certainly not about keeping the balance and all the crap you Bennett witches spew." She snarled.
I can't help but smile at the hypocrite. I had heard all the things that had occurred all in the attempt to save her. Everyone had known the lengths that Salvatore brothers had gone for Elena Gilbert. So much blood had been spilt all over this one girl. So many witches had been used and abused, nearly drained of their very being so she could continue on, selfishly so. And now she had the nerve to talk about me?
Coming up to the fire I stand "I hope you know that I am a good girl and I would never mess with the balance. You however, messed with the wrong girl." I say looking at her cold eyes. "Now if you want this to end quickly you better start talking and quickly because that fire can burn for ages honey. And it will burn till I'm done with you!" I say pausing "And you'll be burnt crispy soon enough." I say smirking. "I have nothing but time, you on the other hand don't, I say as she continues to burn. "And neither does anyone else."
Struggling to stand upright, she speaks. "I'm not afraid of you." She says slowly. "You can't hurt me, not for long."
I nod my head and soon send her to her knees as her bones break and her ears bleed from the pain in her head.
"That's where you're wrong Elena! As long as you are in that circle," I say pointing at confinement. "You're human." I say causing her eyes to go wide. " Which means as long as I see fit you will belong to– "
Before I could finish my words, the door burst open revealing Rebekah and Marcel with a Salvatore brother each.
"Bonnie stop!" Stefan screams his eyes on Elena.
I look from Rebekah and Marcel to the brothers that were sworn to protect me. I glare at the men who had so easily turned their nose up at me. The men who were clearly not who I thought they were. Who acted like I was just some kid that didn't really know anything about magic. Bitterness crept into my veins causing a dry chuckle to escape my mouth.
"Wow, I guess it really is true." I say glaring at the two vampires, who I foolishly thought were my friends. "I've always heard that despite your differences and temperaments– you always band together against the bad guy." I say pausing to toss my hair out of my face. "I guess that me now huh?" I ask and soon discover that neither brother can bare to look at me too long. I watch as blue and grey eyes volley between me and Elena. I guess I was the wicked witch in this story.
I purse my lips still hurt by their reaction of me. They were looking at me like I was the monster, like I did this when it was the other way around. "I said isn't that right? Answer me!" I demand before marching over to the two of them.
When they say nothing in response I turn my attention to Marcel and Rebekah and thank them for helping. "You can let them go now." I say after looking long and hard at each brother.
"Bonnie, we just got started." Rebekah coos as she rakes her fingernails through the thin green shirt Stefan is wearing.
"They won't leave. Elena is here." I say with a simple shrug. My eyes land on Stefan and I watch him shift from one foot to the other. "Who would've thought only hours ago you were pretending to care about me, pretending to be my friend?" I say causing him to hang his head low. I say disgust dripping on my every word. "My how the tables have suddenly changed?" I comment shaking my head.
I soon go back to stand by precious, precious Elena who has still not given me the answers I need. And that is when I feel it. Ice blue eyes are following my every move. He's calculating my next move I know it and he knows it. He's been silent but I know he's thinking, know he has something to say.
"Bonnie, listen. I know you're upset." Damon says cautiously as if he's talking to a scared animal.
I squinted my eyes I and looked at the brothers. They really believed all the bullshit they talked. Before I had never realized it, but today the way they made me feel-so beneath them, it made me realize they never cared at all.
"Your girlfriend," I say pausing to make sure I looked at both brothers pointedly. It was obvious they shared Elena, in fact they had said as much and they could have her, and her memory and she could have them as well. I didn't fuck with un-loyal people and the fact that they turned on me so quickly showed me everything. "Attacked me, and she's probably working whoever killed my family." I say my voice wavering. "So, I'd like to correct you I'm not angry, I'm livid and right now I'm feeling vengeful!" I say catching eyes with Klaus who looks pleased.
"So while she's here," I say motioning my hand in the direction of Elena. "She's gonna talk or she gonna burn and it's simple as that." I say through gritted teeth. I close my hand into a fist and watch as Elena curls into a ball. I lift my hand and have her levitating high above before dropping her to the ground once again. Now she knew how it fucking felt! "And if that doesn't work, I'll try something else."
Damon takes a step closer. "Listen to me, I need you to just calm down," He makes a move and I can't help but step back. It's clear on his face that he's surprised and the hurt that flashes in his eyes is evident, as is the fact that my husband is now standing very close to me so close that his chest is to my back.
I watch as the two men have a staring contest before Stefan lets out an agonizing moan.
"Your upset and you have every right to be upset, but if you do this . . . she'll be lost forever. And we both know you don't want that. You never wanted that." Stefan rationalizes.
I can't help the giggle that escapes my lips. It was actually really sad to see how these people thought they knew everything. To witness and know the lengths they had gone for this girl when in actuality they didn't know half the things she hid from them. She used them, manipulated them and they allowed it and hurt people in return. They deserved all of the hell they were going to get.
"Don't you get it? She's been gone for a very long time?" I finally burst. "And I know it's difficult for you to accept this, but the only reason she's here now is because someone sent her here to come after me." I say touching my chest. "I gave you both and an adequate amount of time with her and now she's mine and when im done she'll be sent where she belongs."
"No" Stefan roars. "You can't do this Bonnie. She doesn't deserve this!"
I snapped my head in his direction and soon walked over to him. I stood on my tip toes so that he could really get a good look of my face. "I can, and I will." I said in a whisper. "And you can't stop me." I say pushing at his chest.
Stefan shakes his head and then licks his lips. "You'll never forgive yourself" a pause. "You have the power to bring her back to life to fix what Klaus did to her . . . to us." He says now glaring at the original. "And if you don't do this, you'll regret this move for all of your life."
His words hurt causing me to flinch back, while everyone looked at me. How could I be so stupid?
"Oh my god, you were using me!" I say quietly though all vampires can hear me loud and clear. My mind races as I try to remember everything. "This whole time, I thought you wanted to get to know me." I admit. Thrown I run my hands through my hair. "I thought you were moving past whatever history you had with Klaus." I lick my lip. "But I was wrong. You" I say pointing at Stefan. "You wanted to get me away from him...take me away from him because he 'Took Elena away from you!' Everything was a lie." I muse out.
"You're a liar and a fake." I seethe causing an array of weapons to fly in his direction and nail him to the wall by his clothes. I couldn't touch him not with magic but I could scare him.
Damon tries to get to me, but he's blocked by Marcel who shakes his head as if to say not a fucking chance. "That's not true Bonnie!" he says his voice strained, his eyes trying to search hers. Usually Stefan was the better talker of the two but it seemed that every word he uttered just made things worst. Bonnie was angry, so angry he could see it, he could feel it! But underneath all that anger, she was sad and hurt. He knew a thing or two about that. "We care." He says, his words dying down at the look she had given him. "I care. You know I care." He stresses. He cared more than he ever thought he would care, especially for someone who wasn't Elena. In fact he cares so much that he can readily admit that he believes, in her, in the prophecy and what they could be together.
"No." I say walking up to him and ignoring the low growl that emits from Klaus. "You don't care. "All you ever wanted was to get me into bed." I say causing his face to fall. "You're only about playing games and I was the only game you never got to play." I say looking to Damon.
I couldn't even look at Stefan. The thought of what I had shared with him had made me sick to my stomach. I shared my magic with him, and I believed that we were real friends. "You were pretending to be my friend, all the while low key hitting on me." I say finally whirling around to face him. "All in the hopes of getting back at the man you thought took your world away."
Stefan bows his head. "I can't forgive him for what he'd done. But that doesn't change our friendship. It was real. It is real! Damon and I," Stefan says looking behind me to catch eyes with Elena. "We just want you both to be safe, we just want to protect..."
"Enough!" I say silencing him. He was lucky that I couldn't use magic on him because I would've frozen him in place and make him watch his dear Elena burn to fucking pieces.
I walk back over to where Klaus is standing and share a look with him. He gives me the nod and I'm all to ready to spill the beans. "Klaus didn't kill Elena. She did that herself." I say snapping my fingers so that I'm now in the circle of fire with Elena. She tries to move away but the restraints are keeping her in place. "And I can show you."
"No. Don't touch me." Elena cries.
"This won't hurt at all." I say grabbing a hold of her head, so that I can search through her memories.
Soon a white light engulfs the room. The room is silent as everyone watches random moments of Elena's life as if they were watching a movie. I try to horn in on key moments with the brothers, moments that she wanted to remember from the first time she met them, to first kisses and everything between. Finally after a few more moments I broadcast the last moment, the ghost had shared with the brothers, till her last moment of being alive. And that is when she screams.
Slowly color seeps back into the room, and by the stoic look on the Salvatore brother I'd say they had finally seen the truth.
Rebekah is the first to speak. "And everyone called me a bitch." She says fixing herself another drink.
Suddenly a shrill scream is heard and I turn my attention back to Elena who, im guessing is a bit upset with me. "You bitch! How could you this to them! Elena cries!"
I place my hands on my hips. "I was being honest with them. Something you never did apparently." I say gaining a snicker from Marcel.
Elena tilts her head back. "You think you're so much better than me. Why? You've got a Mikaelson and two Salvatore brothers pining after you? You're no different then me, and definitely not better. The only thing you got going for you is your magical blood. If not you'd be just like all the other witches in this town...dead and gone."
I cross my arms underneath my breast. "I'd take being a witch over being a self absorbed lying bitch!" I say pointing at Elena. "Who would rather watch the people who loved her, mourn her then make a fucking choice. "
Elena licks her lips. "You know. It doesn't matter. Nothing matters and you know why because in the end your gonna die." She says smugly. "You've been marked and when you're finished with me, they'll just send someone else to get rid of you." She says suddenly smiling. "So many people hate the thought of you. They want to punish you for things you're superior family has done and in the end you're gonna die just like the rest of your family."
I shrug my shoulders at her words. "You can't please everyone." I remind her. "And it's going to be rather difficult to kill someone who can't be killed." I say my words reminding me something Klaus had once said to me.
"How does it feel knowing that they died protecting you?" Elena asks slowly. "They put up a fight but in the end they lost and soon you'll lose as well." She says hatred dripping off of her every word. "How does it feel to know that you are solely the reason you're itty bitty town was doomed?"
My breath hitched at her words and I fought hard not to cry. I had always known that everything she had said was true that I had been the reason so much had occurred in my hometown but to hear it from someone else, it made me feel so hollow.
"You shut your filthy mouth Doppelganger!" Klaus growls out.
I look over to him and see understanding in his eyes. I nod my head his was before looking back at Elena.
"I hate to break it to you but you're not telling me anything new. The people that died for me, will forever be remembered I'll make sure of it" I say as something flashes in her eyes. Its almost as if I can see what she's thinking about.
"What about you the people who died for you and you took everyone for granted." I remind her as my eyes slide over to the brothers who are still dead silent.
Elena seethes. "You don't know anything about me! But I know about you and your gonna die and the Bennett name will die with you."
"That's enough Elena!" Damon nearly roars causing all of us to look in his direction. "Just stop okay. It's done."
"No, I will not!" Elena screams. "Nothing would make me happier than to see you dead and gone, trapped and buried. Being immortal won't save you, just like nothing could save your family." She says a giggle escaping her mouth. "Of course they knew what was coming, and just so you know they fought till the end."
Something in me snapped! I was done talking to this bitch! I didn't need her. I'd find out who sent her on my fucking own.
"Is this what you want?" I scream so loud that the windows shatter. "You want to fight then lets do this!"
The room soon begins to rock as my anger shakes the house. The windows are shattering with each second that passes as high winds rush through the room.
Out of the side of my eye I see Kol moving my way. "Kitten, you have to calm down, you'll wreck the house and cause a storm."
Lighting strikes in the sky followed by a loud roar of thunder.
"I'm gonna send you back to hell!" I say ignoring Kol as I glare at Elena.
With nothing left to lose she continues on, angering the witch and causing the fire to burn her flesh. "Do it! It won't change anything! You can't hurt me. Your reach is in the supernatural realm and last I checked I died a mortal."
I smiled now, and tilted my head to the side to examine her. She was so wrong. "You poor unfortunate soul," I say grinning at her. "That's where you're wrong. Doppelganger occur every one hundred years or so." I say while squeezing my hand shut and invisibly clutching her tainted soul.
"No." The brown eyed girl cried. "No!"
"Yes." I say with a smile. "My pull is so strong it can reach you in the underworld." I say as she begins to shiver. "The king of purgatory himself, can't even save you because you made a move on my territory." I say sticking my bottom lip out mockingly.
"Goodbye Elena." I say finally snatching out what was left of her tattered soul.
Her scream was loud and echoed through the room as I split her open and retrieved what was left of her soul. She had made so many deals that what was left was very tiny.
"You think this will stop them?" Elena says falling to the floor. "Soon witch. I'll be dancing on your grave."
I tilt my head to the side and regard her. "Tell your puppeteer I said game on bitch!"
The fire that had once kept her in place is now turning into thick black smoke that is gathered at her feet. The underworld is calling her and slowly enveloping her. Smoke swirls around her body as her eyes go wide at what I can imagine is realization of what is happening.
"Elena!" Stefan calls through tears.
She coughs. "Stefan, don't forget what I said It's up to you." More coughing.
"Please, Elena...please" Damon starts to say only to be ignored by the brown eyed girl. She has more on her mind than speaking with him. Her eyes find the witch and hybrid and she can't help but notice how power rolls off the two of them. Amelia was right about the two of them. Together they could rule the world. It was obvious to her now, that they'd bring nothing but havoc on the world together. They needed to stopped permanently.
"Amelia says hello." She says looking into the eyes of one Nicklaus Mikaelson. And with that she faded away.

Bonnie
I thought once Elena was gone I would feel better that I would feel some kind of relief but I just felt numb. I had never banished someone in my entire life. In fact I never thought I'd have to and yet, tonight I had sent girl to the underworld. I knew in my heart of hearts that this needed to be done that she needed to be stopped and for her transgression she would be the message sent to whomever was after me, but I still felt numb.
Vaguely I could hear the sounds of voices but I couldn't make it out. It was like I was underwater and every sound was muted. My senses were heightening though. The room which was once lit up by the warm glow of the fire was now black, the only light being the moon that shown outside. The rain was louder, angry and the wind howled like lost wolves at night.
"She's in shock." Melissa says running to be at her friend side.
"Bonnie!" Kol calls. "We have to get her out of it." Kol calls knelling beside her. "You have to snap out of it." He says panic in his voice. He looks around the room and notices that ice is beginning to form along the furniture and base boards. The room is literally starting to freeze.
Rebekah gasps as chandelier covered in ice falls to the floor leaving nothing but ice. " Nik, you have to snap her out of out of it." She says turning to face her brother only to see him never look so vulnerable.
"Her temperature is dropping fast. We have to do something." Melissa says, while shivering from the now below zero atmosphere.
Damon takes a step forward only to be yanked back by Marcel. "Haven't you done enough?"
Finally after a few more seconds of being scared shitless, the hybrid steps forth.
Kol gathers Melissa to her feet and held her tight, sharing a look with his brother. "You're naturally hot. You'll be able to snap her out of this." He says motioning for his brother to do so.
Tensilely as if eyes weren't on him, the hybrid kneels down next to his wife. He places his body behind hers and gently folds her tiny body into his lap. He rubs circles on her back and whispers in her ear. "You did such a good job love! " He whispers while rocking her back and forth. "I know this was hard on you– you're naturally good but you were doing the right thing . . . you did the right thing" he reassures her gently. "Let it go love, and come back to me." He says kindly and far more affectionately then anyone had ever heard. "Come back to us, you are our queen and must rise to save those that need you."
Ice blue eyes narrow at the twosome and he can't ignore the closeness or the tightening in his chest. They pushed her too far and right into the arms of the enemy.
"Klaus." I say finally able to speak. I had zoned out for a minute, just thinking about everything that happened tonight and that night all those months ago. So many people had lost their lives and my heart ached for them.
"Yes love." He says smiling from ear to ear. He grabs her hands and kisses her knuckles. "I knew you'd come back."
"Yeah." I say as he helps me up. I didn't even realize I had sunken down into the floor. I was stuck in my own head, and for a moment it was filled with nothing but grief.
"You scared us, Bonnie." Marcel says still holding onto Damon.
"I didn't mean to." I say as my attention darts over to ice blue eyes.
Rebekah claps her hands. "So since you have officially gotten rid of that awful woman, now all is left are your guardians!" she says wrapping her arm around Stefan. "Please say you'll leave them for me." She says poking her lip out. "Boy problems ya know."
At the mere mention of my guardians I flinch. I can't help it. I still can't believe how wrong I was about them. With one last look to them I shrug my shoulders and give Rebekah what she wants. We both know she can't kill them, sadly we are linked together and just like me that cannot truly be killed.
"Get them out of my sight." I say turning back to them. Similar to the way they had turned their back on me, only hours ago.
Damon licks his lips. "Bonnie, you don't mean that, we . . . "
I whirl around quick and face him. "There is no we!" I shriek causing a vase to crack. "As long as I'm concerned, the friendship we were working toward building is officially over." I say as Melissa puts her hand on my back. Melissa was probably the only person who knew how much I had wanted this to work with my guardians. I had grown up hearing all these great things about them, and about what we could accomplish together and that wasn't gonna happen. I didn't trust and I don't think I ever could.
I place my hands on my hips. "You two have shown your true disgusting colors and I want nothing to do with either one of you."
Stefan clears his throat. "You're disappointed and it's understandable but you can't give up on us."
I didn't even bother speaking to Stefan. He was the worst out of the two and if I never heard or saw him ever again I'd be just fine.
"Bon," Damon calls and despite myself I look his way. "You have every right to be mad at us, but know this I would never intentionally hurt you." He says in that Damon way, which is always desperate.
"Such a pretty little liar." I say drawing out my words. I notice ice blue eyes become colder with each word I speak. I make a move to step forward, only to stopped by Klaus, who grabs a hold of my hand halting my movements. I look over to him and realize that he is fighting the beast within, his eyes are still flickering between gold and denim blue.
Standing in my spot, next to my husband I speak again. "I will never believe a word you say again, and that goes for your brother as well." I say as a defeated look crosses over Damon.
"I think it's best that we all forget we ever met." I say to the shamed Salvatore brothers. "You stay away from me, and I'll damn sure stay away from you." I say pushing hair behind my ear. "I'm done." I say once again turning away from them.
Rebekah grins. "Well then, Stefan, it's been a long time since I've had the pleasure." She says tugging on a stiff like Stefan.
Marcel is next with Damon who still looks defeated. When Marcel starts moving and tugging Damon along with him, a pale hand shoots up halting any more movements.
Klaus grins. " olha tudo que voce nunca vai ter a minha esposa" (Look all you want but you will never have my wife)."
Damon smirks. "She was always suppose to be mine, and she will be, and on that day we'll dance on your ashes. "Ela sempre foi suponha que a mina e elera sera'
Klaus can only smile at the boldness of the eldest Salvatore brother. He can admit a little competition is always good. But one thing was for sure. After that stint Damon and Stefan pulled on his oh so delicious wife, she'd never forgive them. The Salvatore brothers lost again, and in return he had her trust, gratitude and her. He was winning and always would.
I looked between the two men who were obviously having a showdown of some sort and rolled my eyes. Their was literally nothing to fight over. I didn't belong to either one of them and never would.
"Thank you Marcel for everything." I say squeezing his shoulder.
"You're welcome." He says displaying beautiful white teeth. I still could not get over how hot he was, how come they didn't make guys like that back home? I guess it didn't matter because in the end I'd probably still end up here. Klaus stepped in before supposed destiny and I wonder if that changed things? I wondered if it all meant that Klaus was what was real in my life.
"Come on, it's time for you to join your brother." Marcel says tugging Damon who keeps calling my name.
I can hear his voice echoing and when he's finally quiet I realize its just the four of us.
"Bon," Melissa says rushing to my side. We share a look that years of friendship can convey without even speaking. "How about we binge on old tv shows and eat tons of ice-cream?" she asks throwing her arm around my shoulder.
Kol soon pops up on the other side of me. "We can have a slumber party in my room!" He says a sly smile on his face. "I promise to keep my hands to myself and," he says with a wiggle of eyebrows. "I just so happen to have a big juicy bottle of vodka in my room." He says grinning. "Come on kitten, a little indulgement is just what the doctor ordered."
Melissa nods her head. "Kol is right! Our enemies will still be our enemies in the morning."
"I'm positive the word has already spread in the underworld about the Doppelganger who was banished back to hell by the sexiest queen ever to exist." Kol says with a wink.
I nudge him away. "I love you guys and I know you're trying to get my mind off of everything, but I'm really tired." I say pausing. "Maybe we can celebrate another day." I say hopeful.
It was weird, had this been months ago I would've jumped at the opportunity to throw my finger in the air and party my blues away. But tonight I just felt so drained, emotionally so. I realized tonight, that I needed to finally start doing what I was meant to do and that was to actually start my reign as Queen of the supernatural world. The prophecy had said that certain things would occur when the time was right, but I was eager to get to it now. I needed to make a name for myself so that when the time came, everyone would be ready.
"B." Melissa calls drawing me out of my musing. "Your going to be a wonderful Queen, whenever you're ready, you'll rule the supernatural world." She says as if she's reading my mind and truthfully she probably could.
"Good night Kitten." Kol says with a butterfly kiss to my cheek. "And remember my room is only footsteps away." He says tugging on Melissa who has just untangled herself from hugging me.
Klaus is behind me mere seconds later and when I turn to face him, he crushing me into his chest, holding me as if he could never let me go. He doesn't say anything probably for fear that I might flip out or run away. And I don't say anything either. This is the first time since the incident. Second time really that I felt secure and safe. After I banished Elena, I felt like I was sinking, I'd never done anything like that before and my mind was jumbled with so many things, adrenaline mostly but vengeance as well. But in the midst of it all was Klaus. He was trying to help me, trying to save me. And in his arms right now I felt like someone was trying to anchor me and it was none other then the one person everyone had called a monster. The one person that was standing here with open arms, was the same man I had trusted early on, my husband Nicklaus Mikaelson.
BB-BB-BB
Hours later I found myself writing in my diary. I wanted to remember everything about this day. Today was the day I finally took control of my life. And the first thing I wanted to do, was talk to the elders. After tonight I could not imagine the Salvatore brothers as my guardians, I didn't trust them and they obviously were not fit for the job they were given. I also needed to establish a relationship within the community and I personally wanted to sit down with each and every supernatural entity that this town housed. That way, I could try and sniff out who planned the attack on me and act accordingly.
Just as I finally close my journal, a knock sounds on my door.
The moment I hear a knock on the door, I know its time to face the music. I know it's him. I can still feel my skin tingling from his warm touch and my heart is racing because he saved me.
Two seconds later I'm standing in from of Klaus, who is looking rather fragile. He looked tortured; almost as if he's in almost in pain.
"Klaus?"
Wasting no more time he walks right into the room determine to speak his mind. "I know you wanted your space." He says turning around to face her just as she's closed the door offering the two of them privacy he craved. "But," he says eyes darting over to her, to his wife who is wrapped up in a vintage band shirt and tiny underwear. "I've been plagued with words that wish to be heard tonight."
He turns his eyes away for fear of passion taking over his every being. He needed to control himself, especially since the full moon was approaching soon. It had made him more animal than man, and the need to have her, was stronger. It was also well known that for him, the full moon brought about many urges, one of them was to mate and right now Bonnie wasn't ready and he . . . didn't want to rush her. Not tonight, not while she was still fragile. They'd have many more full moons when they could create a child together. He'd see to it.
I shifted from one foot to the other. "You can, tell me anything." I say honestly. After everything he had done for me, I'd listen to him all night.
Shifting his eyes back to her face, he speaks. "You were," he licks his lips. "You were magnificent tonight my love." He says honestly and open. "A true queen."
I flushed at his words. I didn't feel like a queen, not yet and I might never feel that way but it was nice for him to say.
"I've been in the presences of countless of royals," he says approaching her. " I've spent my life with many witches but watching you with that fire in your eyes, it had been the most beautiful thing I've ever seen." He says inching much closer now.
I can do nothing but stare into his eyes that are far more expressive than I've ever seen, as he inches closer to me. In this moment he's hypnotizing me and surrounding me, and my senses are on overdrive.
"I assume you still feel betrayed by the Salvatore brothers?" he says watching as her eyes cloud over at the mere mention of her guardians. "You give yourself freely to others and you expect the same. But know this the Salvatore brothers were never worthy of you. They had the chance, they had your trust, they had you, the most ethereal creature to walk the face of the earth and they tossed it away." He says pausing.
He was getting off track, as his words were coming out jumbled. He hoped she could understand what he was desperately trying to say to her. He was trying to say that he would cherish her and never hurt her the way other people had hurt her. "Many will never be worthy of you" he says sinking to his knees in front of her. "But I wish to be, I wish to be worthy to be your husband, your real husband, the father of your children, your lover and friend." The honest words slipped out so easily that he nearly bit his cheek to stop himself for spilling his black heart any further.
Im stunned by his words, to the point that I can only look down at him. I knew he liked me, but I hadn't realized it was more than– like. "K-Klaus" I call as he wraps his arms around me and places his face on my belly. He in no way needed to be on his knees. We were the same people, I was still me and he was still him but something had changed.
Standing up to his full height, he takes her into his arms. His pink tongue comes out to lick his lips at the close proximity of her. Desire is threatening to take over but he keeps it a bay, barley so. "Can't you see love, I wish to be the man who has your heart?" he says cupping her face.
He takes in her face and expressive eyes and can no longer deny himself. He grips her waist, bringing her flush to him and when he leans down, she leans up. Their mouths meet, in a shy kiss at first, she's holding back, of course, but then something changes. She wraps her tiny fingers in his hair, and tugs just a little and opens her mouth wider. Mouth to mouth, the kiss, slow and sensual starts to heat up.
He can feel the animal inside wanting to break free and soon scoops her up by the back of her thighs. He picks her up and gains a squeal that pushes him further. His lips trails down her neck and when he's made it to the bed he drops her on it.
Green eyes flick up at him and it's then that he see's it, she's emotionally vulnerable right now. And before he had taken advantage of the situation. When they first met, he had wanted her so much, her vulnerability had been his gain. Whenever she needed it or needed to recharge her batteries with his body . . . their coupling had done that for her but he wanted more.
He puts his hand to his mouth. This was not what he came here for. She didn't need this right now and he...although he wanted this, he wanted her...he didn't want her like this. "I- I didn't come here for this but being around you." He inhales. "All I want to do any time I'm around you is touch you, all over. But you you're more than just a warm body to me, more to me then what's between your legs." He says as he eyes travel south. He licks his lips and takes a desperate step back. The full moon was approaching and it was making him want her even more so then he already did. If he wasn't careful, he'd give into his needs.
It takes me a minute or two to realize what he saying, and when his words sink in I realize he's about to go.
"Good night, Love." He says turning on his heel and flashing out.
Finally after several long beats have passed, I've finally found my voice. And although I'm alone I know he's not far. In fact he's never really been too far away from me, even when I've pushed him away. Klaus has always been at my side. With a thundering heart I walk to my bedroom door that is still ajar from his hasty exit. "Come back." I call out knowing that he's heard me.
It takes a couple of moments but soon he's standing at my door looking at me as vulnerable as I feel. I swallow hard as he keeps his eyes downcast, his lips tight as if he's waiting for me to drop some sort of bomb on him.
I let out a sigh and with shaky hands grasp his hand in my own. "Stay."
He opens his mouth and the closes it. "Bonnie, I didn't mean to pressure you."
I nod my head. "You aren't pressuring me. I just," I say looking down briefly. "I'd really like it if you could just hold me tonight." I say finally catching eyes with him.
He watches her for only a minute to make sure he's heard her correctly. To wait for her to take everything back, yet she stands before him her heart-shaped lips slightly ajar, waiting for his answer. "I would be honored."
