Chapter 18: Whatever It Takes
Once I arrived back to my suite I found that Klaus was long gone. It was probably better that way, I didn't want him to see me shaken up after my encounter with Damon. The man had the power to make my blood boil with a twitch of the lips and a mere blink of an eye. He was trying to get into my head, make me think that things would've been different but we had both known the truth. Damon and his brother were obsessed with a girl that was no longer living and they would've done anything to get her back...even if it meant hurting me and jeopardizing the supernatural world in the process.
Elena was all that mattered and she would always be all that mattered to Damon, and to Stefan.
I found myself in the mirror looking over my appearance. I may have looked fine on the outside but on the inside, I was a mess. That was the kind of power he held over me and it was that power that I had wanted to end tonight. If it were the last thing I did, I would be rid of Stefan, Damon and that sire bond.
I held onto my amulet that was beginning to glow. "It ends tonight Damon Salvatore. You and your brother can both be rid of me and me of you." I say as the necklace continues to glow. "We'll all be set free."
A knock on the door halted my musing. I needed to pull it together because if Klaus thought for a second that my "meeting with Emily" had turned into a "meeting with Damon." I think he would lose the cool he had been holding onto since we had come here.
"Come in." I say causing the door to open and reveal Lucy.
Instantly I ran over to her and gave her a hug.
"I thought you were tied up?" I ask when Lucy and I pull apart.
Lucy shrugged. "I was, but this is a special moment." She beamed my way. "I can get kinky anytime but it's not just any day that my favorite person in the whole world becomes Queen of the supernatural world!"
Her words cause me to flush instantly. I ring my fingers together as the light catches my wedding ring. "When you say it like that, it makes it sound so... real."
Lucy gave me a look that spoke volumes and than sat down in a plush chair. "Honey, believe me, this is all real. You are the immortal witch, the one that will save us all." She says pulling out a compact to apply red lipstick to coat her lips. When she's finished she looks over at me.
I can only hum in response.
"You're glowing Bonnie." Lucy says matter of fact. "Does this have anything to do with the hybrid you're bedding?" Lucy says a sly look crosses her features.
I chuckle. "Maybe!" I say as my eyes land on the shoes I've decided for the night. "I'd love to go into detail with you about everything but Im more worried about busting my arse in front of everyone."
Lucy laughs with her head tilted back. "That won't happen, I taught you how to walk in heels remember." She reminded me. "Now while we have time, tell me about your life . . . about your marriage?" Lucy points up her hand grasping my own as she gasps at the ring on my finger.
I smile at her and soon sit right next to her. "First tell me about this dress?" I say admiring the royal blue form fitting dress, with a halter top neckline. Lucy tended to stick to her usual getup which consisted of cutoff shorts and cowboy boots, with a vintage band tee to boot. But today she seemed to have pull out all the stops.
"This ole thing," Lucy says standing up to spin around. "I thought it was high time I put on a dress especially for your special day." She says sitting impossibly close to me. "Now, enough about me, lets talk about you!"
I let out a sigh and bared my soul to her every single thing that I had kept hidden from everyone that was in my life. I told her about my fears while being Queen. The regret, that still was burrowed deep inside of me because of that night. How sometimes anger simmered underneath my skin and I was afraid of what it would do to me if I ever let it out. I even managed to speak a few words about my guardians and how disappointed I had been that this whole thing everyone had built up was a sham. And lastly I told her about Klaus.
I had been running from Klaus probably from the moment I had met him. My walls had been up for so many reasons. And despite everything he had managed to break through them, and even if he hadn't broken through– he was able to see through, every facade I had put up.
"You're married to Niklaus Mikaelson, life can't possibly be too dull...even if you are in Mystic boring Falls."
I snort.
"Are you happy Bonnie, with Klaus, with all of this?" Lucy asks suddenly placing her hand over the top of mine.
I thought about it. I don't think I would ever be as happy as I had been before everything changed. But I could be happy. "Im on my way." I say wistfully.
"He treats you right?" Lucy asked her eyes narrowed. She had that I'll cut him glints in her eyes.
"He does." I say slowly as my mind went back to earlier today in the bedroom. He had certainly treated me right when he lips were sliding up and down my skin. But most of all, he was always at my side when I needed him.
Silently I braced myself for her reaction. "I had fallen, so low." I say closing my eyes. The memories were in quick reach and caused me to shiver. "I was in a dark place and he had been my light out of that harden place."
Lucy smiles, though her eyes are watery. And Lucy never cries, at least not in front of anyone that isn't me. "Promise me that through your time on the throne you will hold onto that light...Onto your light?"
Startled I bring my eyes her way. "I promise." I say noticing as a look crosses beneath her eyes.
Before I get a chance to further question what was behind her words, the door swung open. It was time for my story to begin.
"Lucy?" I asked when she moves to stand she has her back turned toward me but I can still see that something is off. I know my cousin and she hardly gets emotional so to see her like this and be left in the dark had my wheels turning.
Instead of speaking she turns her head sharply, letting her long hair fly over her shoulder. "I am fine Bonnie, I just, I want what's best for you." She says as I rush over to her and give her a hug again.
"We all do." She says with a sad smile.
I furrow my brows. "Why do I get the feeling that you've seen my future?" I ask causing Lucy to stiffen.
Finally she speaks. "I know that you need to get ready," Lucy says with a smile. "The supernatural kingdom is waiting for you." She licks her lips. "I just want you to always remember who you are at the heart of it all no matter where love, life and the throne takes you."
I nod. "I promise." I say again this time with more feeling. I wouldn't let anything take the light that shined inside of me away.
"Good, now get ready." Lucy says opening the door to reveal the glam squad.

Just a reminder
The dress I have chosen to wear was a form fitting white dress with a sweat heart neckline. The dress went to mid thigh with a train that resembled one of a wedding dress. Pastel colored flowers were scattered along the white of dress from my waist down in the colors of lavender, grey, sky blue and green. The flowers travel to the length of my train, where petals were fastened on with the help of a little magic.
"Wow. You look amazing." Rebekah gasped once I had finally shown everyone my attire for the night.
"Thanks!" I beamed.
I felt beautiful, in fact I felt like I a whole different person all together. It was a dawn of a new era and I was ready for it. I looked over to my glam squad, and smiled over at them. They had given me everything I had wanted for my look tonight and even more.
My normal glossy chocolate locks had been lightened with hints of caramel and honey blond, as it hung in old school Hollywood curls that I had loved. As for my makeup, the boys had really pulled out all the stops. Much care was given to my emerald eyes to make sure they stood out, with rich colors such as rose gold, plum, copper and gold. Finally my lips were painted a rich shade of a matte plum.
"So, tell me how well did I do, do you like?" Elias asked batting his green eyes my way.
I smiled over at him. "I love it, you gave me everything I wanted for tonight."
"And I gave you that sex appeal that'll make any man fall to his knees." Elliot says.
Rebekah muses. "Well you do know a way to a girls' heart."
"What, everyone was thinking it, I just have the balls enough to say it." Elliot says unapologetic.
He wasn't the only one who had seen the way the hybrid king was looking at the Queen today, in fact Elias had even pointed out how the ever dark Damon Salvatore only had beautiful eyes for the Queen as well. Things were about to get juicy.
Rebekah snorts at the comment and focuses on her own reflection. The elders had claimed earlier today, that this night was about a rebirth, proceeding with the best foot forward for the future. And that was what she had wanted desperately. She wanted happiness. They all wanted and deserved some happiness. Elijah was still gallivanting around the world with Aya, while Kol was still Kol. Nick was different though, he was happy and she hoped that this could last. Bonnie was good for him . . . she was good for everyone.
"Nik is going to lose his mind when he see's you." Rebekah calls once we're alone.
"You think?" I say nervously. Lucy had long vacated the glam room, as had the guys who had dressed me for the night. Now it was just me and Rebekah as I waited for the perfect time to make my entrance.
"Yeah." Rebekah says quietly. "Listen, I know you and I are just starting our journey as friends," pause. "And I like you, I think you've got a big heart you are probably way too good for your own sake." She says walking closer. "My brother is in love in you, and I hope that big heart of yours can be open to loving him just as much." Rebekah says causing me to look up at her.
I open my mouth to say something but Rebekah stops me. "If you hurt him, I'll crush you."
I smile tugs on my lips. I understood what she was saying. Rebekah loved her brother and although the Mikaelson family was truly dysfunctional . . . they loved hard and fought harder.
"Let this be a warning, never speak like this to me again, or I'll do much more than crush you." I say gaining a chuckle from Rebekah.
I watch as she walks to the door. "I think you might fit into this crazy family just well." Rebekah voice carries.

The Moment
Stepping out off my room I found Klaus draped in a light grey suite, when our eyes caught, he smiled, though I could sense a hint of nervousness flowing around him. Soon I spotted Kol and Marcel who seemed much more at ease. In fact they made whatever was trying to bubble inside of me disappear just by seeing them. They have this nature about them which nudged you in their direction. Each man looked simply handsome showing the world, who they were with the way they were dressed. Marcel was dressed in a cobalt blue suit and skinny tie with hipster glasses and a smile that could literally brighten any darken room. As for Kol, my bil (brother-in-law) he was sporting a mint green suite with a lavender tie.
I looked around at my people and smiled. We were a unit. A family and they were here to support me. And I was truly blessed to have them all. It seemed like this place was bringing out the best of everyone and showing the truth behind all the facades. Because as it appeared to me, it seemed like we were all matching someone. Rebekah and Marcel were wearing black and blue, perhaps meaning the way headed in the right direction. My eyes travel to my besties, who were looking like a cute couple. Melissa and Kol were wearing lavender and mint. As for Klaus and me, we were matching as well, I however had hints of other colors. I knew this could have been due to the glam squad. I had a feeling that everyone was in sync.
Klaus who was lent up against the wall soon came my way, his denim blue eyes darker than usual as a sliver of yellow shown through.
"You look.." He paused and wiped his neck. Was it suddenly hot in here? His wife, well she looked ravishing and he could tell her all the things he would love to do to her, if she had let him. He could whisper words so hot in her ear that she might even begin to melt in front of him. But, all that was for her, all of his words...all his actions were for her and her alone . . . not a room full of his family and hers.
Instead, he simply reached out for her hand, and she had taken it with all the grace that only his wife could posses.
"You clean up well Mr. Mikaelson." I say as Klaus looks down and then looks up at me, a come hither look on his face. And hot dang, I feel myself break out in a sweat.
Smile. "Well, you know love, I had to come with my best threads especially since, I have you on my arm." He says with a spin so I can see everything.
I bite my lip. "I think you have it wrong, it's you that's on my arm."
Klaus leans into me and presses a kiss to my forehead. "Ready and willing...anytime, anyplace...any position."
A gag is heard, as Kol pretends to be vomiting. While Marcel smiles on. Rebekah looks between the two of us while Melissa gives me a look, which says we need to talk as soon as possible.
I've been avoiding her. Afraid of what will come out my mouth.
Braxton soon zooms into the room and accompanied by Channing, who tells us all that the crowning is about to start. Suddenly Klaus and I are all alone.
We were informed that a formal dinner was set to be the first in many events to signal the next chapter of my life.
"Are you ready for this?" he asked while holding her hand. He knew what this meant, tonight she would be crowned, tonight her world would change forever. He could taste her anxiety, it was so potent his fangs began to itch.
I shrug. "Not really," I say with a chuckle. I knew what this meant. I also knew that after everything had settled, the Salvatore brothers and I would have to speak with the elders. Going though that door changed everything but staying behind it was not an option.
Klaus knelt down at my side. "Say the word and I will find a way for us to leave this place!" He says honestly. He knew first hand how difficult it was to be King he could only imagine how much more difficult it would be to be Queen. Although he had faith in her . . . if this wasn't what she wanted right now, then he'd move heaven and earth to get them back home.
I look over at him and study his face in a way I had been doing since the night before. Klaus was always open with me, always passionate with me. But what I noticed was that he never lied, not to me. "You mean that don't you?" I ask suddenly.
He looks down at her. "You are my world." He says quietly. "I will do anything for you."
I felt my face flush with his words, his honest words. It didn't matter how many times he said it, everytime Klaus opened up to me...everytime he let his guard down for me, I was amazed.
I smiled and placed my hand on top of his. For a moment I looked at the contrast of our skin tones as Klaus hands stroke the top of my hand with his thumb. "I'm ready to be presented to the world, with you at my side."
He smiles slowly. And I'm suddenly struck with the urge to kiss him, so I do. I place my hands on either side of his face and soon my lips are pressed against his. When his arm wraps around my waist, I pull back, to see his shocked face.
"Well." Klaus says a slow grin forming yet again. "I'm here for all your services." He says placing his hands on either side of me. "I'll be here all day and night long–I'm yours." Klaus says before kissing my forehead.
I push at his chest which only makes him grin even wider.
"Elliot, I think my wife is ready." He calls out to the blushing warlock.
Second later the door opens as music begins to play. It reminds me of a wedding. The room is filled with prestigious people in the supernatural world and the elders and when the nerves are about to kick in Klaus leans down and whispers.
"I got your back, and what a nice back it is, it truly deserves to be honored." He cracks causing me to chuckle.
"What about the front?" I ask slyly.
I hear a grunt emerge from Klaus as he eyes me. He leans down close to my ear and whispers. "I told you, that it's was okay to let go, I've got you love and I have never been more honest."
By the time words are finally ready to plummet out of my mouth I notice that Klaus is kissing my hand and then handing me off to my grandmother who is looking at me as if she's just witnessed something unexpected.
With grams at my side we continue our walk down the long altar. Before I know it, I've reached the end of the line, right before me are the elders. Each member of the elders committee stand before me as I knell down in front of them.
The elders consist of three supernatural beings that reside over all of us. The first being, Selene a witch she was the leader of the elders. Along with Selene, came Asher and William whom represented vampires, werewolves and other supernaturals beings.
Selene is the first to approach me, as flits down off of the podium send a gentle smile my way. She cups my face gently as she gets a good look at me before speaking. "You my child, Bonnie Bennett, are truly a child of light." She says in this voice that is filled with so much magic, hope and love.
"And from this day forward, may your light reach everyone within our supernatural world."
I look over to grams as Asher and William approach us, she nods her head to me as the supernatural men make their way toward me.
"Bonnie, we the supernatural elders are happy to present you with your crown." William speaks.
"Your word will rule the kingdom down on earth."
"The light that shines through you will reflect in your rule."
"You will be the face, the person, the woman that will rule the supernatural world as the true and final immortal witch."
After more words of encouragement I was placed with my formal headdress or crown, I wasn't quite sure what the elders had said because I was too busy basking in the sudden feeling of belonging somewhere. It had been hard on me with everyone being gone and me trying to find my way and at the same time lead the kind of life I knew that was expected of me. But in that very moment when I was presented with my future, I felt at home.
"And with that, I present to you all, our witch, our future and the golden light of the supernatural world!" Selene calls out causing everyone to clap.
With that declaration Asher and William help me up and I turn around to face the people as cheers erupt. Amongst a sea of faces the ones that stand out to me of course is my family. They look the happiest. My parents sit together and cheer me on just as any other parents would. Gram looks regal as ever as she is holding hands with Emily, who is poised. I turn to look at my other family, spotting Kol and Melissa who are hooting and hollering so loud my face burns with embarrassment. Next are Rebekah and Marcel who are the picture perfect couple, or not I guess. Rebekah beams as Marcel does a loud whistle.
Lastly I meet the eyes of my husband who suddenly has a drink in hand. He holds up his glass in my honor and winks my way. I can feel my face flush at the proud look that his settled on his features. He's wearing a smile, big a genuine. I observe him and everyone else who is willing to do this, face this with me.
And then
A sudden fluttering feeling rushes over me as a voice fills my head.
"This is all for you and every single person would get on their knees for you."
My heart starts to beat faster as I attempt to find the person whose voice is invading my moment.
When I spot him, he's already looking at me with that freaking smolder. Our eyes catch for a moment and it's like we are the only two people in the room.
It's only when Selene takes me to the balcony that I realize I have muted everyone around me as ice blue eyes and I were having a conversation without words.
"You okay child?"Selene asks in a mothering tone.
"Yeah." I say so easily that it's a bit startling. I may have been nervous before but being here right now, it's what I was born to do.
With that I step onto the balcony and wave at the supernatural who were not able to attend the ceremony behind the walls. I wave at them as a sense of peace comes over me.

The showdown
Much later, I find myself in the elders chamber. Although the celebration has continued throughout the isle, the reason I had asked for a meeting with the elders was still a matter that needed to be taken cared of. It was time to put an end to the relationship between the Salvatore brothers and me. It was long over due.
"We understand the original reason you had called upon us, is still something you'd like to discuss." Asher assured me as he folded his hands.
"Yes." I admit facing the elders. This was it, and now I wouldn't hold back for anyone.
"And this has something to do with your guardians?" Selene questioned.
I look over to where said guardians sit. Emily is now sitting between the brothers. Stefan is looking off in the distance as if he's un-bothered by everything. While, Damon looks at me so hard, I can feel every trace of his eyes on my exposed skin.
"The guardians who betrayed me!" I say my voice steady and true.
"Bonnie? " William calls with sad eyes. He was a seer and by the sad look in his eyes he had seen everything. He clears his throat. "Please . . . explain everything that weighs on your heart."
Glad to have my voice heard, I went into great details of everything that had happen the night before. And when I finished my tale of betrayal the elders were stunned silent. I understood the impact, everything about last night had been just dark, but then Klaus stepped up and shown a bit of light on me. He saved me.
Clearing my throat, I spoke. "After everything that had happen last night, I wish to have both Damon and Stefan Salvatore removed not only from being my immortal guardians but from the royal court as well." I say pausing. " I'd like to remove them from my life all together?" I admit finally.
A gasp was heard. "It's understandable that you are upset but what you're asking is monumental?"
"The elder Salvatore has been watching over your family for centuries." Pause. "He has been entrusted with your line and your life from the beginning of the prophecy."
Unable to bite my tongue I speak. "And he's failed!" I say with a shriek. "And he'll tell you it's true." I say flickering my attention to ice blue eyes before moving forward. "As for Stefan he tried to put me down so his girlfriend could live. He wanted to trade my life for hers!" I admit my emotions getting the best of me. "I want nothing to do with either one of them." I say so emotionally charged that my gram touches my arm to calm me down.
It doesn't work.
In fact it does nothing but fuel the fire. When I think about how much, I had opened myself up to them, it makes me sick. I had been an open book to the Salvatore brothers and they, they wanted to use all of that against me.
Suddenly I stand from my seat, needing a bit of room. I ringed my hands together as I try to choose my words carefully as the elders and Salvatore brothers watch on. As well as Klaus who looks pained.
"Together the Salvatore brothers plotted, against me . . . against the crown." I say slowly. "If they had succeeded what would our world be like? They wanted to resurrect someone who had already passed on." I say to the elders. "They can't be trusted." I finally admit. "I don't trust them and I don't want to spend my immortal life waiting for them to strike again so that they can be reunited with the woman they love." I say pleadingly.
When I hear a chair scrape, I know exactly who it is and what he's trying to do. As Damon stands, I resist the urge to roll my eyes. With every footstep he takes nearer I get closer to Klaus till, I'm back at his side and Damon is where he wants to be.
"She has every right not to trust us." He says pausing to lick his lips. "She has every right not to trust me." He says pointing to himself. He may have laid it all on the line for her earlier but he hadn't done it for an audience.
Asher turns a sharp eye in the direction of the vampire and scolds him immediately. "Do not say another word."
Selene rests her hands on his. "Asher, let him speak his peace." She calls out calming the elders around her as well as everyone else in the room.
"It's true. I failed her." He says looking over at Bonnie. "I failed you." He says passionately causing her to look elsewhere. "I, Damon Salvatore, can admit that I've failed every Bennett," he sighs. "I was supposed to protect. That I was supposed to take care of." He pauses. "Back then, I didn't take it seriously and I apologize to everyone I've lost along the way." He looks over to where many Bennett women sit. "All I can say is that I'm sorry."
"Thank you for your honesty Damon." William calls cheering up just a bit.
"I cannot deny the hurt that I've caused, to a lot of people." He scuffs. "I can't even deny most of what Bonnie said because it mostly true. What I can do, is say honestly I had no intention of trading her life, nor did I have any intention to harm her." He takes a moment to look over at her to see that she still won't look his way. "I swear it on my own undead life. I would never harm you."
I let out a cough and mutter bull. Like, Damon is the same two bit hustler that he's probably always been. Women and men were attracted to his beautiful eyes, his swagger, and probably a plethora of other things. Those things, his attributes meant nothing to me when the inside of him was beginning to rot, if not rotten already.
"You don't believe me?" He asked whirling around to face her. Bonnie was a tough cookie and although she had told him many times she wanted nothing to do with him, he still thought she'd at least listen and maybe see the truth in his words. She was angry and this anger was causing her to push him away. He knew she felt it, that spark that had been between them from the moment green met blue.
"No! I will never believe you or trust you again. You, Damon Salvatore are just as obsessed with that girl as your clearly unstable brother!"
In the back I hear Kol mutter about needing some popcorn.
The elders watched on with peaked interest. Never had something like this happened in the kingdom. The Queen and her guardian were filled with so much energy that it nearly knocked everyone down.
Finally I turned to the elders. I just wanted to be set free of both of them and move on.
"Please remove him." I say finally, my voice shaking with my plea. "Please remove them from being part of my life. Please take it all away, along with the bond, which is a ball and chain to him . . . " I pause and refrain my words. "To them!" I say, ready for it all to end now. "Please free me of the burden of the Salvatore brothers!"
William leans forward. "Why don't the two of you take a seat? Your exchange was powerful enough." He says without saying much at all. He shudders at the explosion of energy that has been released into the atmosphere. The two of them, Bonnie and Damon are far from over and the power the wield together is undeniable.
Ice blue eyes flicker over to those of mint green. And he knows he's going down but he won't go down without a fight. That's why he approaches her, with as much caution as he can muster. He gets close, close enough that he's behind her. For a split second he dares to think about grabbing her arm to stop any movement she'll make but thinks better of it. She's emotional and so is he, and that could prove to be explosive.
"Bonnie, I will do anything prove to you, that not only do I believe in you . . . I believe in us." He says following her. "You hate the bond, we'll break it! And then you'll see that my loyalty is to you Bonnie. It was always supposed to be you and I and I'll prove that to you."
I grit my teeth and whirl around to face him."This isn't a test, or a game, this is my life!" I say walking away from him and finally joining Klaus yet again. "You wouldn't know much about that seeming that this whole guardian thing was always a game to you." I snip.
My whole demeanor from earlier had changed. The bliss I felt from being here and effect of the witch's brew had worn off. Now, I was left feeling everything I had tried to bury.
Damon nods his head. "It's not a game any more." He looks down. "It's our future!"
I lean forward from my seat and look him dead in the eye before using my mind to say all the words I wanted to say. I would no longer let him affect me in front of everyone, not anymore.
"Keep telling yourself that."
Damon hitches his lips up. "Soon you'll see, and on that day I'll tell you, I told you so." Damon says looking at me a second too long.
Asher rubs his temples. "Enough." He bites out annoyed. Honestly he doesn't know how anyone could continue to have a conversation with Damon Salvatore. That vampire talked too much.
SS-BB-SS
With a shared look the elders now turned their attention to the younger Salvatore. William was the first to speak, as he looked at the pained young vampire.
"Stefan, do you have anything to say for yourself?" William asked as madness radiated off the one people called Stefan.
The grey eyed man in question finally took his eyes off of the newly crowned supernatural queen and his brother. Bonnie and Damon were a catastrophe waiting to happen. Had he actually been consumed with other things other than guilt, resentment and everything Elena he could've left the two of them alone and watch as they single handedly ruined the whole kingdom and everyone in it. As much as the situation between his brother and Bonnie grated on his nerves. Mainly the Damon part of Bamon (Carolines words not his.) He could literally watch Bonnie shut down Damon every single day of the week.
Stefan grins."I mean that was a tough act to follow but I guess I can give it a shot." He says cheerfully. "I must say though, they are popcorn worthy, aren't they?"
"Stefan, can we move this thing forward for the sake of time?" William asks sounding drained.
"I have plenty to say for myself." He states standing to his feet. "Firstly though, I'd like to speak to the Queen." He says pivoting in the direction of the green-eyed beauty, who is sitting with her lap dog, lap wolf whatever Klaus wanted to be called.
The mere mention of me I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I titled my head up as my teeth began to gnaw together. My disgust with Stefan held no bounds and I really didn't want to speak to him at all. But if he thought I was going to sit back and be docile friendly Bonnie he lost his ever loving mind, which for him wasn't a stretch. Just because I had this crown on did not mean I would not break it down for Stefan or Damon the way so many others had failed to do in the past.
As Stefan continued to look my way a smile playing on his lips I literally felt my body heating up as if fire would leap from my finger tips. Sensing my anger, Klaus placed his hand on my knee rubbing circles higher up my thigh. I looked his way a questioning brow raised where he just twitched his red lips in return. I watched as deep dimples set giving away the fact that he thought this was rather humorous.
With a deep breath and anger that seemed to subside the moment I felt my husbands hand creeping further northward, I spoke. "What could you possibly have to say to me Stefan?" I asked disgust dripping off every single word.
He grins but not before throwing a look at his older brother who is hot under the collar no doubt. Damon gets off on being treated like the pariah that he is and what gets him even hotter is knowing that the girl he's currently lusting after is being chased by other people.
"Sugar . . . I mean Bonnie, you look amazing." He inhales and sniffs the air as if to find her scent and taste that is still tattooed on his tongue from their kiss what seems like eons ago.
Now, he turns back to the elders charming smile etched on his lips. "Now, as I was saying, what Bonnie said about me is true." He pauses to brush his fingers against his lips. He could still taste her tongue, feel her soft lips on his. It was a curse and pleasure at the same time because his budding feeling for her had caused Elena pain. "My intentions with her, were pure honest even if it isn't honest to her. I basked in her light, and her warmth just as any other person in my position would do." He begins to pace as his head is bombarded with images of him and Bonnie. Despite what he had been planning, whenever he was with Bonnie she made him feel and it wasn't a bad thing, until it was a bad thing.
I bristled in my seat but said nothing.
"Bonnie has this uncanny ability to breathe life back to those who have long lost it. I'm man enough to admit this much about her. She bathes in light and that light is what attracts everyone her way. Every moment with her, every second with her took me further and further away from what is most important in my life, my heart . . . Elena Gilbert." He turns her way. "She's someone who managed to open up a side to me that had been long gone and I resented her for it. I resented that she made me want to move on when I should've been standing still."
He walks back to the middle of the room. "After I realized what the bewitching Bonnie Bennett had done to me, I began to resent her and I wanted the feelings that were reopened to stop. So I figured I'd stop them on my own. Even if it meant destroying her and everyone around her, including the two men I resent most!" Stefan says no emotion in his voice or on his face.
"Did you try to kill her?"
Stefan stops pacing. Bonnie was invincible but she was breakable in her own way. She was far too human, far too loving for this life. "No. I simply wanted her to free Elena from death by any means necessary." He grins. "I guess you can say, an eye for an eye."
"So this was revenge for you? You attacked our Queen and could ruin our supernatural world, all for revenge."
Stefan goes to stand before the elders. "Of course." He says his face blank. "She, of course is not solely to blame for what happened. No she was just the one person that could cause the most pain. He pauses thoughtfully as if he could see everything in his own head playing like a movie.
His grey, stormy eyes represent a raging tornado as he dares to look at each elder individually. "You are!" He yells pointing at the elders. "So you see, this is not my fault, this is all your fault! What happened to Bonnie is the fault of you elders. You elders are responsible for what happen to Bonnie!"
You could literally hear a pin drop and he loved every moment of it.
"You are also responsible for what happened to Elena!" he burst. "All of you don't care about us! We are just your play things and you use us accordingly." He bit his lip. "And since you helped blow my world," he brings his voice down. "I figured I'd blow up yours." He says bringing stormy eyes down on each elder.
Stefan grins again. "I thought about seducing her, probably could've done it too." He muses. "She trusted me, enough to help me." He licks his lips. "But then again when she has Klaus slathering her down with his tongue, and Damon blue where it counts, why would I go down that road?"
"I've heard enough!" Asher boomed. "You will not continue to speak to us this way!"
He can't help it. He starts to laugh madly, crazily. "Why can't I call all of you out for what happened to Elena? If you had saved Elena, I would've left Bonnie alone. But you didn't save Elena! She went through so much because she was a doppelganger! For being rare and you couldn't even bother saving her." He says his voice dripping with venom. "All because you were sure another one like her would be born some day!"
"Are you finished?" William asked through gritted teeth.
"No." He says with a simple shrug. "I don't regret what I did, what I regret is that Elena isn't here with me now, as for our Queen," Stefan calls out as he looks over at the Queen, beautiful as ever. "Well, just remember we'll always have channeling to look back on." He says fondly. He did like Bonnie, a lot actually. But that was the problem and he needed to shut it down somehow, so he did.
Having heard, enough Selene speaks. "You're angry. We get it. But what you don't know is that your precious Elena was filled with the seven deadly sins. And because of that she was able to manipulate every situation especially since you were born to be her other half."
He stumbled back. "What are you talking about?"
Selene leans forward. "You too, are a doppelganger, born to be the yin, to your Elena yang. The two of you together were supposed to balance out each other, but Elena chose to let her sins and darkness rule her just as you are right now."
Speechless he sits back down and chances a glance in the direction of his brother.
Selene leans forward her bracelets clanking together. Her coffee colored skin glowing as she focuses on the younger Salvatore.
"You, Stefan Salvatore have confirmed all the things Bonnie has said about you. Everything that you, and your have said has been heard and as supernatural elders, we want the best for you and our world. What we can do now, is move forward and to do that we must take care of the throne. We also must restore the balance that was shifted due to the unfortunate events, that was created by recent events."
Stefan nods his head, suddenly feeling ill. "I understand." He says his voice sounding soft to his own ears. "Do whatever you feel you need to do." He says now looking at his brother. "I certainly have nothing else to lose."

The Revelation
Bonnie
The moment the elders had paused our meeting, I was out of my seat in a flash. I had literally heard enough of the tale of two Salvatore brothers and their spiels of love gone wrong, bad decisions and mistakes. Who would've known that two men that sworn to protect me would end up having more issues combined than Kol and Rebekah put together and that was putting it lightly?
I let out a long breath as I overlooked the island. I had never expected the day I met my guardians which should have given me an indication of how ridiculous they were in actually would lead me here. I had connected with them, at least that was what I had thought and it was all a lie. And now even though they deserved none of my thoughts my mind was solely thinking about the two of them. I should've been thinking about the day I got to moonwalk out of their lives for good . . . but instead I was trying to figure out which one was more screwed up. Together, the Salvatore brothers were nothing short of a train wreck. Alone they were just as dangerous but for different reasons.
In fact, after everything both Damon and Stefan had said not only to me but the elders, I was still finding it difficult to figure out who was the worst of the two.
I could admit that Stefan was, truly disturbing. He spoke his words that were filled with venom and malice as calm as possible. In fact rage never ever found its way to his face, it was his movements, and his eyes that gave way to the man behind the facade. I hadn't seen before, he was careful and I wanted a friend. But listening to him today, the way his voice was calm and strident and actually looking into his eyes to see nothing but rage and hatred not just for me, but for himself and everyone else . . . it was frightening. I had watched with my own two eyes as Stefan had gone from one extreme to another within the span of fifteen seconds and then all over again. The worst part of it all was, how he seemed to enjoy getting under everyone skin. It was like he was begging for someone to come after him.
It was almost like he wanted it all to end.
Watching Stefan and all the layers that he covered himself in drop piece by piece was something I had never seen before. I did feel bad for Stefan to an extent, his life was wrecked by the person he loved, the most. And it tortured him, even before he knew the truth. That of course didn't mean I was naive to him and his way. Stefan was a desperate man, a man without a care if he lived or died and that was the worst kind. Because that meant, he would do anything. And by anything I mean everything bad.
As for Damon, he was a different story.
I was tired of his confessions, tired of hearing him speak in general because everytime he opened his mouth about destiny, it only seemed to enfuriate me. I can admit that in the beginning I thought that once my deal with Klaus had finally ended that maybe just maybe Damon would be my happier ever after. That perhaps he was really the guy for me and everything that had happen before I met him was just leading me to the next journey of my life, my after life with him. In fact, I almost, almost fled my wedding to search for him, but then I remembered that I had an obligation to fulfill and I would do anything to save the people I loved.
Flashback
I sat down on the chase lounge my hair in pin curls, my makeup done to perfection but my heart was aching. I had been calling the number that was left to reach the Salvatore brothers for the last thirty minutes and had got nothing in return. My hands shook violently as prepared for the next step in life.
They were supposed to be here. He was supposed to be here to save me, to start my life with me and yet here I was alone.
"You look like you could use this." Melissa calls as she wonders in to see me sitting and looking at my phone gloomily.
I gratefully take the shot and toss it back with ease, grimacing because I'm usefully not a gin kind of girl but it's all we have. Once I've finished my drink I look over at Melissa. "He's not coming is he?" I ask finally. "They aren't coming?" I say seriously.
Melissa takes my hand. "We can find him, we can find them if that's what you need."
I shake my head and soon find myself gazing at the night sky. "We can only hold Klaus off for so long. He wants this partnership to happen. And he's the only one that protect everyone at home." Slowly I begin to unravel my pin curls.
Melissa sighs. "What about Damon? He is supposed to be the person you walk into your immortal life with? He is supposed to be the man at your side." Pause. "We've all heard the stories, you have your book which has D.S. etched in it. Damon Salvatore is your future. Everyone knows that."
I turn to look at her. "He's not here!" I stress. I was a woman of action and so far I was the only person I could trust at this point aside from Melissa and Kol.
She crosses her arms in front of her chest. "So we go to him. Adam will help us, we can get out of here and find him. B, he might need you just as much as you need him right now. So what are we waiting for, why are we just waiting for midnight?"
I take a deep breath. "Because if it's meant to be, it'll be meant to be. I can't wait for someone to save me, I'm not a damsel," pause. "I have to do what's right, not just for me but for everyone and that is what I will do." I admit steel now in my back.
Melissa nods her head. "You know Klaus is never going to let you go." She says motioning for me to turn around as she puts my veil on top of my head. "He's in love with you, and I know you don't see it, but I do. If you marry Klaus Mikaelson, it'll be till death does you part and neither one of you can die."
"You worry too much. If Damon is who everyone thinks he is, then we won't have a problem." I say with an eye roll. "Klaus is here, he's willing to help. I know you don't like him, but I believe him. He signed that paper in front of everyone including Kol. Its binding and it's the key to my first act as immortal witch."
Melissa fixes my necklace that was a reminder of my guardians. "If Damon was here to save you from this, to help you navigate through your immortal life, would you leave with him?"
I lick my lips. "He's not here." I say again. "And that is all that matters."
End of flashback
I should've known that depending on Damon was a longshot. He was just as bad as Stefan, maybe even worst because I wanted to believe him, I had always wanted to believe in him and I did. But Damon, he only let me down. He had told me once that the reason he wasn't able to come when I called him on my wedding was because he couldn't deal with anything aside from the feeling of losing Elena. He said he wasn't ready yet now he was. He must've thought I was a fool, maybe before but not anymore.
He didn't want me, he never wanted any of this. The only reason why I was so alluring now was because I wanted nothing do with him. So while everyone may have melted at his speech about giving the bond up because it's what I wanted I still didn't trust him. He was trying to win me and everyone else over with words of fate and true love, words I had held onto for so long. Words I would never hold onto regarding him anymore.
I wanted him out of my life, and he could take his disturbed brother with him as well.
Soon Damon and everything everyone had said, all the talk about fate and true love that ends in B&D would be a distant memory. For so long everyone had filled my head with fairy tales and they had been wrong about the immortal witch and vampire guardian. That tale had turned into a nightmare. And soon it would end, and with that the stupid connection I developed with him would be gone as well.
"You're doing that thing." Kol chirps at my side. When did he get here?
"What thing?" I ask sangria in hand. I turn to look at Kol who is giving me his I know what I'm talking about look.
Kol finishes off his own glass of sangria and blows out a long breath as we stand together. "You're acting like I don't know you better than I do sweetheart."
I pretend to pick lint off my dress, though deflecting won't do. Kol knows me very well, that's why his words hit me hard. Here I am in this beautiful place, and this magical place and I'm full of anxiety. How can that be? I have so much to be thankful for but I let anger, fear and bitterness creep into my mind.
Worst, I let the Salvatores get to me.
"Kol." I call out.
"Do you remember what I said to you on your wedding day?" he paused causing me to look around to see if anyone else were here.
I licked my lips. "You can't be serious."
Kol nods patiently and then tilts his head to one side. "Very much." He says warmly. "Now darling, you remember what I said?" he asked holding my hand in his.
I swallow hard. "You said that if it were ever too much too soon that when the time came we'd disappear."
Kol steps forward and touch my face. "Darling I meant every word then and I still mean it now." Kol whispers. "Bestfriends honor and all." He mutters with a grin. "With your power and my knack for disappearing, not a single person could locate us." Kol says earnestly.
My bestfriend is standing before me, like he has solved one of the biggest problems in the world and I wonder if only for a second that he might have another reason for wanting to run away? Last time I checked he and Melissa were doing better . . . they liked each other and I thought they were on their way. However, looking at Kol now, I notice that he seems a bit antsy, maybe even nervous?
My hand reaches out to touch his arm, when sudden I feel a change in the air, its full of electricity in the air. I look to my left and notice that although Klaus is talking to Marcel his eyes are on me the whole time. For a second emotion is written all over his face before he smooths it out.
I can see that Kol is still talking but it's like his words are silent. I'm tuned to another voice that's like a whisper in my ear. I know who it is already and for a moment, I fight the urge to look his way. Finally I turn to my right and see that Damon is with Emily and watching me. His voice wafts to my ears silencing everyone else in the room.
...
"If it means that she'll trust me again, I will willingly give up the bond." Damon says with finality.
Emily clenches her teeth. "This could back fire and have horrible repercussions." Emily reminds. She could feel the pull between the two of them, you could see it, that Damon and Bonnie they were meant to be. She just hoped he hadn't ruined it.
"Hey," she called causing him to finally look her way. "You are the sole protector of the Bennett linage." She reminds him. "And Bonnie, is the last of our line. If you give up the bond how can you possibly live up to the oath you've failed this far?" she asked pleased by the stony look his sends her way.
She has a point. He has failed every single Bennett in a long line of the Bennett family. He had even failed Bonnie, more times then he should. But this time is different. Before he wasn't sure about his future, and now he can see and he can see with Bonnie.
"No matter what," he says pausing to look over at the ever glaring supernatural Queen. "I will do everything in power to fix this. Bonnie and I will end up together, you just need to have faith in me," pause he smiles. "It is the antidote after all."
From across the room I scuff as Kol places his hand on my shoulder. I immediately turn his way gaining a chuckle from the playboy.
"I know that look. I've seen that look, a bunch of times and, while normally I would fan the fire behind those wild green eyes, but doll," He pauses and grins again. "This is neither the time nor the place."
I raised a brow and looked around. Kol was never the voice of reason so that alone should've told me to cool my jets. However, the smug look on Damon, and the mere fact Stefan just popped up out of nowhere drink in hand, smarmy smile as he looked between me and his brother was enough to make me crack.
"You are absolute right Kol." I say beaming at him. He's got this, look on his face of surprise but I can tell by the way he leans into me, he's ready to indulge me. "He and his brother are a none factor. And it doesn't matter what anyone thinks or says, or if it's written in the stars." I smile over at Emily. "I don't care if it were prophesied by a Bennett witch herself. From here on out I will take the reigns of my life. I know what I want, and I what I don't want." I say now looking at Damon. "And I'll never ever want–"
"Bonnie."
At the sound of his voice my attention shifted to him, my father. It had been so long since I had seen him. I missed him, I really did and sometimes I would think about him and wonder if he were okay and happy where he was in his new life.
"Daddy!" I called and before I knew it he had given me a hug, a real hug that was filled with words never spoken.
"Bon." My father called pulling back to look at me. "You look beautiful." He says his eyes darting across my face. "My little girl, all grown up."
I felt my face heat up. I didn't dress up and neither did dad, but looking at us now . . . we looked pretty cool. "Thanks dad." I say wiping my tears away. "I didn't think I'd see you?" I say as he swats away some of his own tears.
He grins. "I was watching football."
I laugh because that was my dad. And soon tears start to fall from my eyes. My emotions are a mixture of happiness and sadness. On one hand I am beyond happy to see him, but I'm also sad because we will soon part all over again.
"Hey," Dad calls. "No tears, you- you cry and I'm gonna start."
I nod my head and still continue to cry. I know I'm probably a mess. The glam squad had worked so hard and I just ruined everything. "I'm just happy to see you." I say my voice cracking as he puts his arm around me.
"I know." Dad says warmly. "I know you've got everyone here, but how about you take a walk with me while we wait for the elders."
I beam up at him. "That sounds great." I say excitedly. So lost am I in my excitement, I almost miss Klaus who is watching intently along with everyone else who had traveled all this way for me. As well as the Salvatore brothers and Emily Bennett.
"But first, I want to introduce you to some people." I say looping my arm with my father and soon dragging him, to meet my people.
BB-BB
"And last, this is my husband," I pause because of the gravity of it all. This is my father, and now he's meeting the man who saved me from myself...from the Salvatore brothers. "This is Niklaus Mikaelson." I say catching eyes with Klaus. Everyone had heard of, Klaus Mikaelson the hybrid with a temper, but standing in front of me and my father was Niklaus the man who bared his soul to me.
My father soon lets out a long sigh that leaves me feeling just a tad bit embarrassed. He continues to be silent as he looks Klaus up and down and I'm praying for a miracle.
"You, you brought her back from the edge last night." My father says his voice sounds emotional as if he's about to cry again. "And I thank you." He says resting a firm hand on the shoulder of Niklaus Mikaelson. "She needed you and you were with her and to me that says a lot more about you than your past." Pause. "You protected Bonnie, and that's all that matters to me."
After those words were spoken Niklaus looks over at me with happiness alighting his eyes and I can't help but feel happy for him. He did well, and if dad could see the good in him so could everyone else.
Dad soon tugs me forward as we continue onward for our walk. It's then that I realize to get where we need to go, we have to pass Damon and that is the last thing I want to do. I can feel my body tense at the mere thought of being near him.
"Damon!" Dad calls out as we stop right across from Damon and Emily. "Its good to see you agin."
I look forward as ice blue eyes are still starring at me and finally after a few more tense moments I throw him and look. Satisfied I hear Damon speak again as I begin to recite the alphabet backwards in my head.
"It's good to see you too." He calls out to the other man. "How long has it been?"
"It's been too long." Dad chuckles. He has always been the life of the party, people just like him, he's super cool. I can easily remember dating boys and later breaking up with boys who still wanted to spend time with my dad. That's how cool my dad was. My exes were friends with my dad.
"Listen," Damon says looking down. "I'm sorry about – "
"It's okay, Bonnie is alive and that's all I could ask for."
Ice blue eyes widen. "You're right," he says in realization. "She's the most important thing of all this."
I roll my eyes. "Lets go dad."
Dad humors me for a moment and then pauses to speak as the room quiets down. "She's the most important."
BB-BB
Once we reach our destination, I can't help but let out a sound of disgust over whom else but Damon? He was trying really hard to impress everyone with his sincere act but I knew just like everyone he had wronged . . . how much of a liar he was.
"I'm sorry you had to deal with all that." I say trailing off. "Damon is notorious for his b. s. antics." I say as anger simmers beneath my skin and in my veins.
Dad looks over a humorous look on his face. "I don't think he was playing games."
I whirl around and face him yet again. "Dad, he's a liar." I say increasingly growing louder. "He was just trying to suck up to you, one up Klaus and further irritate me." I blew out. "And he managed to do all three with one sentence!"
My father watches me silently as if he assessing me. "You seem upset." He says matter of fact.
"Actually, I can't stand the very sight of him." I say all too honestly. If dad gives any indication of being surprised, it's in his chuckle.
I turn to look at dad. "Hopefully the elders will remove him from being my guardian, remove the sire bond and finally he'll be out of my life!"
Dad sits next to me. "Is that really what you want? Is this how you really want to start the next chapter of your life?"
"It's me, being honest." I say simply.
"What happened, happen and it is unfortunate" pause. "But it's in the past. Today is a new day, and you my beautiful daughter, have a new understanding of whom you are and who you want to be. You've also managed to open up to the people around you and that is a good thing."
I don't say anything because really I don't know what to say. If Damon and Stefan hadn't betrayed me, I would have never seen that side of Klaus that he keeps hidden so well. I knew he had feelings for me, but what he did . . . what he was welling to do . . . it proved more to me than he really knew.
Dad flexes his hands and he speaks, a sign that things are about to get real. "In life, sometimes situations get out of control, it's like the snowball effect and before you know it, something little turns into something big." He smiles. "You know, your mother and I couldn't stand each other when we first met." He wiggles his wedding ring. "But we realized soon down the line that we were the little snowball that turned into something big. It was out of our hands, fate brought us together and because of that we have you."
I turn to look at him. "Dad, if you're trying to tell me your on team Damon after everything,"
He chuckles. "First and foremost, I am always on your team. You are my blood, my child and as a father the only thing I want for you is happiness." Dad says as I rest my head on his shoulder.
Silence floats between the two of us as we gaze out at everything before us.
"I know how you feel about Damon."
I swallow hard. My dad may think he knows how I feel about Damon, but he has no idea, the depth of my feelings for that man. I trusted him. I believed him and all for nothing. "I just want him gone." I look off at him. "I just want him out of my life for good, forever."
"How do you feel about Stefan and what he had to say about you?"
I shrug my shoulders. "I don't care about Stefan!" I exclaimed hotly. With a sigh I try to calm down. "Stefan is going to spend all his days moping and probably going further insane over Elena. He blames everyone for what happened because he cannot face the truth and its that- that is going to break him. The fate of the woman he loves lies in the hands of the elders but she creates chaos and havoc. And as her soul mate he's drawn to it and its now the reflection . . . the true reflection of him."
"And Damon." My dad presses.
My hand holds the necklace that is still strapped around my neck out of habit. "Damon wants to prove that his sudden epiphany is right. He wants something, someone to believe because the truth of Elena and her foolery is still raw. His sudden change in mood is because he's got nothing else left aside from his vendetta against Klaus and a promise from Emily Bennett that he would have the last Bennett in her line." I let out a sigh. "I don't have time for that, or him."
Dad nods. "I can't change your mind. But I want you to know that if it weren't for him fulfilling a pledge from long ago, you wouldn't be alive right now. I can't hate him because you're here, but I understand that you have complicated feelings about the matter."
I knew perfectly well what my feelings were of the matter but decided against speaking out. It was just nice to be with him. The Salvatore brothers would soon be a distant memory and I didn't want to spend any more time on them, when I could be with my father.
Together Dad and sit together quietly just happy that we get to spend time together. It's only when I felt eyes on me that caused me to turn around. And it's then that I see Klaus standing in his suit looking a bit worrisome.
"Love," he calls and I know just by the tone of his voice.
It's finally time to turn the page to the next chapter of my life.
BB-BB-BB
The beginning of the end
Returning to the Elders main room my stomach was all in knots as Klaus held my hand and I squeezed his. On our way back to everyone I had a run in with both Salvatore brothers and I was still feeling the effects of them.
Flashback
"Well I guess it's finally time for us to bid adieu." Stefan says as we walk past him. I had the nerve to keep walking but something stopped me.
"This is just one big joke to you, isn't it" I ask as I try to figure out how he was able to pull the wool over my eyes.
Grey eyes sparkle. "Maybe." Stefan bites his lip. "But it's not a game to my brother, or to Klaus." He shifts from one foot to the other. "Promise me, you'll make it hard," He pauses and smirks. "Promise me, you'll make it difficult for both of them. Damon likes to be raked across hot coals and be branded by unrequited love. You'll be able to give him his hearts desire. Remember to make it as painful as possible because when he turns on you- he'll make sure to do the same."
End of flashback
After my run in with Stefan I of course ran into his brother.
Flashback
"Bonnie, I just need a minute." Damon calls as everyone folds into the grand room.
I stand stiffly in front of him. "I'm all talked out." I say in an attempt to breeze past him but to no avail because he is once again still in my face.
He grins. "Well good then you'll get to listen more." He pauses. "No matter what happens, I just want you to know," He steps closer. "I won't give up. I will do right by you and me." He says then turning to look at Klaus.
Klaus rolls his eyes. "More empty promises, aren't you growing quite tired of making them, I know I'm tired of hearing them." Klaus says with a grin. "Friendly advice, worry about yourself like you always do and leave my wife alone." Klaus says through gritted teeth
"She wants to be with you, for now." He says as silver eyes dance. "And I will respect that, but just know I'll never give up on her." Damon declares proudly and I roll my eyes yet again. This was getting old really fast. I wasn't some chew toy to fight over and the sooner everyone realized that the better. I opened my mouth to give Damon one last scolding retort but stopped myself. Stefan and his words rung in my ears. I'd be a fool not to take his words seriously. So I did what any sane person would do, I ignored Damon while Klaus tore him pieces.
Klaus stands in front of me. "Yes of course." Klaus says chuckling. "You love being in the background in the shadows but lets not forget she's coming home with me." Klaus says with his arm around me. "Don't worry about my wife she is none of your concern." A smile hitches on his lips. "She's no longer worried about you."
End of flashback
I watched as the elders walked in one by one and finally took their place adjacent from where we were sitting. It appeared that the elders had from the clothing that they had been wearing before and now in white and gold. Each elder had a flower in front of them.
"Ladies and Gentleman, we thank you for joining us." Selene calls out in her soothing voice. "The time has come for us to move forward and in order to do so we must address the past."
The other elders shared a look before Asher took up after Selene. "We've reached a solution to our predicament." he smiled.
Selene folds her hands in front of her of her before speaking. "With a heavy heart, I say these words. An attempted attack was made against our Queen, against our supernatural throne and because of that we cannot let this go. Stefan Salvatore," she calls out to the man in question who raises his head slow.
"You rang." Stefan calls out as he continues to slouch in his chair. He has already taken off his suit jacket and undone his tie. This was all for show and he was just ready to get it all over with. He just wanted it all to end.
Selene presses her lips together. "You openly made an attack on the throne and have admitted it all without a care in the world."
Stefan nods his head.
"You let vengeance, hurt and darkness rule your heart and it is because of that, you attacked the throne. The repercussions of your choices could have affected the world around you, and because of that you are stripped of your title as supernatural guardian."
I let out a gasp at her words and look to Klaus who pulls me closer to him. "I told you." He says with a wink and then a kiss to my temple.
"Stefan," Selene continued. "You are also stripped of your vampire visage and supernatural abilities. You were given a second chance at life once you became a vampire and instead of being great-full, you come here demanding answers from me and my fellow elders. You also dare to blame everyone, including the throne and Bonnie for what has gone sour in you life!"
Stefan licks his lips. "So what you're saying is your going to kill me." He says absently of emotion.
Asher is next to speak. "No. Mr. Salvatore you misunderstand us. As you have said before you so gracelessly told my fellow elders and I to do what we feel is best." He says showing perfectly white teeth with elongated incisors.
Selene smiles. "Death is not best for you Stefan." She says smiling down at him. "We're stripping you of your vampire abilities and nature but in it's place we're going to open your third eye, the very one that has been shut since you were born."
He looks around the room and then back at the elders.
"What-what are you talking about? I don't speak witch?" Stefan crows.
William is next to speak. "Oh but you do, or you will." He says leaning forward. "You see Mr. Salvatore, you and your brother were born with the witch gene." He says as the grey eyed man looks on, along with his cobalt counterpart. "It's been dormant all these years because you were turned before your abilities came to light. And now, we're giving you your last chance as what you were born to be, which is a servant of nature." William says pleased.
"What does that even mean?" Stefan asked perplexed. He chanced a glance to his brother to see that Damon was just as mystified as he was.
Asher spoke again. "Its means you are a servant of nature, and as earth witch you will not be able to go against nature. You will help it thrive."
With a single hand Asher dismissed Stefan.
I looked on as the elders were now looking my way.
"Bonnie, we are terribly sorry that you were attacked by someone on your royal court and because of that, Stefan will no longer be apart of your royal inner circle, nor will he be considered your guardian."
I smile up at them. "Thank you."
"Now, onto Mr. Damon Salvatore," Selene calls out swiftly changing the mood. "We have all gone over the situation at hand many times and after much talk we've come to the conclusion that Damon, did not make a direct attack on you or the throne."
"What?" I ask unable to keep quiet. Grams his rubbing my back whispering for me to calm down as my mother and father look on worriedly. "He admitted his intentions to help Stefan find a way to save Elena!" I exclaimed. "Damon is just as to blame as Stefan! He would have done anything his brother asked him, because he felt guilty for standing between them!"
Glacier eyes widen. "I'll admit that I was ready to help him. I owed him that. But the line stopped at your life. I wouldn't put you in danger." Damon stresses.
I hold my hand up. "Stop talking to me." I say frustrated.
"Bonnie," Selene calls drawing my attention. "I know you're hurt, and still angry. But Damon never took any measures to hurt you. And it's because of that he will continue to be at your guardian."
I shake my head unable to speak. After everything I was still stuck with Damon.
Asher clears his throat. "As we were saying, Damon you will continue to be considered a guardian to our Queen." He says pausing. "However, your actions are being watched from this day forward. Our Queen doesn't feel like she can trust you, and it is up to you to prove otherwise." He looked down at the vampire. "Do you understand, because this is your final chance as a guardian to our supernatural Queen!"
He glanced over at Bonnie and held her stare. She was upset and rightly so, because he was given the opening he needed to prove everything he was really capable when his mind was set. And right now his mind was set on her.
"I understand." He says standing. "And I'm very grateful for this chance to do what I know I should've done a long time ago." He admits. "As I said before, Bonnie is important and the one thing she was really upset about amongst other things, was the sire bond, the guardian bond. I'd like to ask the elders to remove it."
I swallowed hard still unimpressed by Damon and his flashy words. "Why are you doing this, honestly why are you doing this Damon?" I ask unable to ignore him any longer.
He clears his throat and turns her way. "Because this moment is like a reset of everything. It's a brand-new chance to do things differently and I owe that to you and myself."
The elders share a look and nod.
"Bonnie," William calls. "Is this still what you want to do, do you still wish to remove the bond?"
I feel Klaus hold onto my hand just little bit tighter as if he's giving me reassurance. I then look over to Melissa and Kol who knew me better than anyone else in the whole world. Kol nods his head and Melissa gives me a look that says everything I've been thinking since the night before.
"Yes." I say nodding.
William claps his hands. "Well then, lets begin.
Soon Damon and I meet in the middle of the room while the three elders stand around the two of us. The skylight is open revealing the sky and sun shining down on us.
"Now, Bonnie I'd like for you to place your hand onto Mr. Salvatore chest." William calls out his instruction.
I feel myself hesitating at his words. I'm already way too close to Damon. But if this was what I needed to do, a little bit of awkwardness wouldn't hurt me. Gently I place my hand on his chest right over his heart. Suddenly I felt the air around me change. It was filled with him. I briefly closed my eyes and was briefly taken back to the boarding house. In fact I was taken to the very moment Damon had instructed Stefan to not touch me.
I let out a gasp as the memory had gone from me just as fast as it came. My eyes blinked rapidly as Damon continued to stare at me. I wonder if he knew that I knew. He at least tried. It was obvious the elders had known because they once again shared a knowing look.
"Would you like us to proceed?" William asked no one in particular.
"Yes." Damon called eagerly.
The elder smiled, briefly and then proceeded. "Now, Damon I would like you to place your hand on the heart of Bonnie."
For a moment he just stood still, eyes filled with her. He was really going to do this, really erase the bond the two of them shared. He knew Emily was having a fit behind him. But this was what needed to be done. It was the only way for him and Bonnie to have a real second chance. If not she'd continue to fight him for as long as they lived. And although he did enjoy sparing with her, he wanted to do this differently then he had with anyone else in the past.
Shakily he placed his hand over her heart. It was then that a surge of energy flew through him. While he looked into her green eyes he had seen a reflection of Bonnie, on her wedding day begging for him to come and take her away.
"Are you two ready?" William asks causing him to look over between the two supernaturals.
"Yes."
"Then lets get started." Selene calls out.
Soon light begins to radiate off of her as she begins to chant.

Bonnie
William finds his spot amongst the rest of the elders, trailing behind Asher and Selene. He was closing the conversation tonight with all the supernaturals and had to take a moment to look around. He had seen the future and he knew, despite everything this group was going to be the one that saved them all. He just hoped they were all ready for the roles each and every person was going to play into the end of this story.
Once he reached his chair, he sat down and folded his hands in front of himself.
"Now that all of that has been settled, I was reiterating everything that stands as the elders final rule on the situation." Pause. "Bonnie, you've requested that your guardians be removed from your person due to the fact that you feel you no longer can trust the two of them. The elders have ruled in your favor of Stefan Salvatore. He is to be removed from your royal court immediately. As for Damon Salvatore, we have decided that he will continue his role as your guardian, though he will be watched very often." Pause.
He slid his eyes over to the Queen who was almost still like. He had figured it was because of the lost of the bond, which effected people differently. "Bonnie, this measure is effective immediately."
"Thank you." I say my voice feeling softer then it was before. The elders had removed the bond and I felt like something was missing from me. It was almost like my other half was gone and I was in some sort of mourning stage.
"We've also removed the bond, as your request and the assistance by your guardian." He finishes before turning his eyes over to Damon.

"Now, Damon," William says with a sigh. "We Elders believe that you did not wish any harm to our Queen and it is because of that- that you will continue to be her guardian. We expect weekly updates on situations that are going on within the community. We also expect you to take this seriously because it's the last chance you have on this matter."
Glacier eyes urge to roll but he fights it by biting on his jaw. After the elders took the bond away he had a sudden need to get nice and trashed. "I understand." He says quickly stealing glances in the direction of Bonnie and he wonders if she's feeling like he was feeling?

Stefan
"Finally Stefan, we've reached you." William calls out to the grey eyed vampire.
"That's me!"
"As you know, you have been removed from being guardian of our Queen due to your remaining issues." Pause. "Your hatred severed the link you may have felt toward the Queen the very moment you conspired against her." William says eyeing the younger Salvatore who showed little emotion.
Stefan scuffs. "Good, then I won't have to go through what they went through." He mutters casting a look over to his brother, who looks just a bit jagged along the edges.
"You are obviously still very emotional about the past twenty four hours and perhaps even longer. You haven't dealt with the death of your beloved and all that anger is due to that."
Stefan chuckles darkly. "You don't know me, and certainly don't care or else you would save Elena right now!"
The elder ignored the outburst. "Your vampire supernatural abilities have been stripped from you and in its place is the seed of your warlock genes beginning to sprout. You, Stefan are now a servant of nature which will help you in the long run. It will clear all the darkness that has settled from you and further it will keep you aligned with the light."
Stefan chuckles. "You think making me some warlock is gonna stop me from trying to get Elena back. It won't! Your moral compass won't stop me from getting her back."
William looked over at Asher who smiled in return.
"Stefan, you're unhappy we get it. And we would be fools to release you back into the supernatural world without having someone watch your back twenty-four seven. You made an attack on the Queen and because of that, you will have someone with you at all times shadowing your progress." Asher says his eyes dancing.
"In fact, both of you Salvatore brothers are going back with an addition and maybe just maybe she'll be able to keep the two of you in line." the vampire admits as he looks to Selene.
The bewitching elder snaps her fingers and that is when the golden doors opens revealing someone who is dressed in all white as is everyone else. The woman wears a cape over her head and when she finally walks into the middle of the room she removes the hood.
Stefan leans back. "If its not Elena it wont work." Stefan calls out. " Get over it."
It was then that the woman spun around causing both Salvatore brothers to let out gasp.
"Mother!"
"Mom!"
Selene beams down at the two men. "Damon and Stefan Salvatore, I'd like the two of you to meet the woman who is going to whip you two into shape, your mother."
