What You Aren't is Within What You Are

I'm falling away from that grace I worked to hard to obtain.

I was just so mad…

You could have whatever personality you wanted,

And Slytherins still respected you.

Everyone expected me to be perfect.

So as I got older,

I was hated;

Rejected.

Is it really my fault my life is like this?

Am I really to blame for being a person who everyone expects to do all?

I wish I could change…

But I can't.

It's not fair.

Why can't I be like you?

You are…

You are exquisite like the morning sun,

You are sacrificing what is good in life,

You are the mellow song of night's descending aura…

What aren't you?

You aren't good, but fun.

You aren't happy, but satisfied.

You aren't graceful, but playful.

You are careless and hopeless...

Worthless to a joyful man.

You aren't righteous, but evil.

You are totally different from me in every possible way.

You can't possibly be wonderful…

But still…

What you are is within what you aren't.

You, my dear,

You are the man I want to marry.

Author's note: If you haven't already guessed, this poem is about Hermione and Draco. It is just fun to guess while reading the poem…
