Chapter 21: Its all your fault

I don't quite know what I was expecting once I met the original wolf. As a child you heard stories about how and why supernatural were created. We were told that each of our gifts were special and that we aided in the balance of mankind.

Personally I had always been interested in the stories of other supernatural. As a witch it was taught to know about my family history and lineage. As the future Queen of the kingdom, I was well versed in book knowledge of those around. However book knowledge had only taken me so far and my trip to Elders Isle had taught me many lessons. I also got a chance to meet with key figures in our world.

Now though, I was to meet the original wolf, who had probably seen and heard me getting frisky with his son, or rather his son trying to get fresh with me. My face felt warm at the mere thought of what he probably thought of me.

With Klaus, the two of us walk the short distance to the house of Ansel. All my nervous energy seems to melt away the moment I looked at Klaus. For the first time, maybe ever- he looks unsure and as skittish as I was feeling seconds ago. The only thing that kept my nerves at bay was knowing how important this was to him, he needed me, so I would be here. I drink him in, every line, every bit of his body which is rigid, and finally find my eyes landing on his lips. His warm had rest on my hip drawing my attention away from his lips and back up to his eyes.

"You okay with this?" He asks halting any further movement.

I swallow hard as his denim blue eyes descend on me, much like I had done with him seconds, minutes ago. It appeared we were the most in sync we had ever been.

"Yeah." I say brightly as I lean into him."We're in this together." I remind. My words are the same he had uttered not long ago.

At the mere mention of those words he cups her face to turn it upwards and licks right above her cupids bow. "Come now love," He says backing away. "It's time to be the envy of every person we encounter." He says lips curving into a smirk. His uneasiness disappears at her words. He isnt alone anymore, no he has Bonnie at his side.

I tug on his chin hair. "Behave please."

He rolls his eyes. "I make no promises." He laughs before guiding me in the direction of the house.

When we walk up to the house, Ansel is sitting in a rocking chair.

"Hello." Ansel says his eyes flitting over to the way his son is all but wrapped around his bride. You could practically see the wolf behind the man standing proud with his chest stuck out. And for that notion the original wolf was proud, he was proud to see his son Niklaus embrace this place and by extension accept him. When the hybrid called, requesting to bring his bride to the sanctuary- he was thrown, but seeing them together, now he knows why. Niklaus is a man, a wolf, a, vampire...a hybrid in love.

Meeting eyes with the original wolf, he makes the conscious decision to lower his guard down.

"Thank you for allowing us to stay Ansel." He says with a hearty handshake.

The elder wolf shrugs off the words. "You are my son, and I will gladly do anything for you and yours." The original wolf says with a slight nod.

I watch as the two of them speak without speaking, it's all in the eyes. Finally after what seems like an forever, Klaus turns to me. "This is my wife, Bonnie." He says his heat surrounding me.

When Ansel looks my way, I realize that he has the same denim blue eyes as Klaus. He even sports dimples which are much smaller than the indents on Klaus face, the hair color is the only indication that Ansel is much older. The aging process had stopped long ago, but he salt and pepper hair he sports gives me a hint of what Klaus might've looked like had he aged.

"I am Ansel." The original wolf says with a carefree smile. He opens his arms wide and soon embraces me with one of those old fashion hugs that just makes you melt. He's warm and welcoming and most of all, he's true. I can feel his love and devotion for his son, and that transcends to me as well.

When I step back into Klaus he winks my way, and somehow I know this is going to be a good trip.

Lucy

Mystic Falls

Lucy Bennett has walked into the Salvatore manor as if she had owned the place. The seasoned witch had spent plenty of time here, in her younger years, once finding solace in the Salvatores. Back then they were her friends. She could still remember some of her fondest memories with the brothers, from the moment she met them, till they the last which was when they tried to help rebuild the broken pieces that were left of her after what happen with Elijah and Kol.

They were once her friends, now though- they were enemy number one and enemy number two. She fling her hand at the door tearing it of the hinges for shits and giggles and stood tall as they peered through the open door. She let them drink in the sight she was, for a few moments. Dressed in skin tight jeans, a tight shirt, that showed just enough boob, her make them pay five inch stilettoes and a smile on her face she sauntered further into the house.

With a quick look around its obvious that the Salvatore family seems to be having their own kind of reunion. Victoria has a bottle in her hand holding it tightly while her sons look like they may have beat the crap out of each other.

"Hey Victoria it's so good to see you." She says stopping to pick up a strawberry and pop it in her mouth.

With a strained smile, Victoria speaks. "Lucinda what are you doing here? I would think you would take this time to spend with your family, just as I am doing with mine." The Salvatore matriarch says with narrowed blue-violet eyes.

Lucy tilts her head to the side. "Me and Damon have business."

"And what about you and Stefan?" The matriarch asks still eyeing the bronze beauty. It was well known that Lucy was not one to mess with, however Victoria would do anything for her sons even take on Lucy Bennett.

"Well" She says walking around the table to sample more fruit. "Originally I was going to stick my foot up his arse." Grin. She looks over to Damon fondly. "It looks like someone already beat me to it."

From across the way Stefan rubs his hands together. "Anytime you're ready Lucy I'm here." Stefan calls gaining a glare from everyone in the room.

Sensing the look of pure rage simmering under the surface of brown eyes, he edges closer to Lucy. He may hate Stefan right now, but that didn't mean he'd let Lucy have him. "Luce, I'm actually glad you're here we have some things to go over." He says suavely putting his arm around her shoulders. He's finally got her attention as she brings chocolate eyes his way. She's about to say something, smart, that's a given maybe even tear him a new one but then Stefan says something crude and all hell breaks loose.

He sends a glare to Stefan who had managed to get Lucy attention again. All his brother had to do was keep quiet and maybe she would ignore him. But Stefan was such a shit starter lately.

"Luce," He calls out trying to stop her. "This isn't gonna help Bonnie. We have to get along and that includes Stefan." He calls after her.

Eye roll. "Please spare me. We'll get down to it right after I kick you and your brothers ass." She says matter fact.

Irritated he walks over to fix a drink. If he fought with Lucy, Bonnie would be even more mad at him. "I'm not gonna fight you Lucy." He says simply. Suddenly he's rethinking staying in bed all day, anything would be better then this crap he was dealing with right now.

"I will!" Stefan volunteers. "I'm dying for my first fight with a witch." Stefan says eyes wide. "Promise me after we'll cuddle and lick each other wounds after."

Lucy grins and soon walks over to Stefan the sound of her stilettoes loud and clear.

Across the room wide blue eyes are trained on the Bennett witch. He had told himself that Stefan was poking the bear and therefore got what he deserved but Lucy, was grinning and that was not a good thing, not in this instance. "Lucy, ignore him, he just likes to talk shit." pause. "Don't let it bother you." He says as soothing as possible.

Who in the world would think he would be the voice of reason, yet here he is trying to talk Lucy down and trying to save Stefan all at the same time.

"It doesn't." Lucy throws over her shoulder, now standing face to face with Stefan.

Stefan for his part bites his lip and leans forward inhaling the perfume the elder Bennett wears. "You gonna do something other than just stare at me because if that's the case, you should be on your knees." Stefan says tauntingly. "For old times sake."

Clear across the kitchen Victoria, shrill voice sounds panicked. "Lucy, can we maybe talk about this."

Turning around she slings her hair in the green eyed vampires face as she turns her direction to Victoria. Stefan however, has decided to amuse himself by placing his hand on her ass. "I'll be glad to talk to your sons. The first being the one person who was suppose to take care of my cousin but failed." she says glaring at Damon. "And then the other," She says turning around to face Stefan. "Who dared to try and bind my cousins powers with a Bennett medallion."

Stefan grins all the while looking down her shirt. "That was some of my best work." He says still ogling her chest.

Lucy used her long nails and tilted his chin up with a saucy smile still gracing her lips. "She trusted you, and you betrayed her." She glared.

Green eyes roll. "I'm sure Klaus is licking her wounds, much like I'd like to do with you once we get this fight started." Unfazed he sneaked one more peak at her cleavage before meeting eyes that were on fire.

She bites her lip and leans up against the green eyed vampire. "Is that what you really want?" She says her hand sliding to where he aches the most.

With a bottle in hand, he now sits down ready for the show to start. He knows this is bad, really bad but it's a train wreck and at this point whatever Lucy does to Stefan he was asking for it. "Lucy just remember he's human." He reminds as the witch nearly reduces his brother to a blubbering mess.

In the next seconds something happens. Stefan lets out a moan that was just wrong and then Lucy knees him in the groin. Its quick and he can't help but let out a belly laugh. It could've been worse, Stefan got off easy this time, he can only hope his troubled brother realizes that.

"Bitch!" Stefan roars withering in pain.

He watches as Victoria rushes to Stefan, eager to be a mother hen and meets eyes with Lucy.

"You done?" He asks, pouring her a glass of whisky.

Lucy flips her hair back and sits next to him. "Yeah." She says pearly white teeth on display. "Your brother now knows what it feels like to be human, sometimes it hurts." she says pausing to polish off her drink. "Now it's your turn."

Bonnie and Klaus

Sanctuary

I hold onto Klaus as Ansel assures us that everyone is out back waiting for the two of us.

"Once word got out that Klaus was headed home, along with his bride- and our Supernatural Queen, everyone wanted to bring out their best dishes." The original wolf says eyes flitting between Klaus and I.

"That's sweet." I say as Ansel holds onto one of my arms while Klaus holds the other.

"Its tradition here, at the house of Ansel to break bread as a family." Klaus whispers into my ear.

"It promotes unity." Ansel adds as he leads us to the back of the estate.

Its only then that I realize that Ansel has a big family. Of course, it is not one that is of traditional family, it's the kind of family that one makes that are of no relation by blood but bonded by love no less.

I had only been here a few mere moments and already I liked the place. What I liked the most was the sense of family. It was nice to see people get along no matter who they were without preamble. These people were connected through life, hurt, struggles, triumphs and now choice. It reminded me a lot of the family I had built for myself. Melissa and Kol were my people, I knew they always had my back and vice versa. And then their were the people that were new people in my life, via Klaus. Everyone had rallied together when we made our trip to Elders Isle, those people were just as much as my family as Lucy.

"What's going on in that pretty little head of yours?" Klaus ask causing me to look his way. It's only then that I notice that Ansel has left the two of us alone. Well alone as he could seeming that Klaus still had guards around here stealthy.

I nudge him. "This is nice, this place is nice." I say as Klaus wraps his arms around me.

"It is." He says kissing her the tip of her nose.

"Isn't this the cutest thing in history." Summer Westbrook says interrupting the cozy couple.

I turn toward the new face and regard her as she continues to eye Klaus with sex eyes. And for the most part he's looking at her with a fond twinkle in his eye.

"Summer, don't you have a poor sap to ensnare in your trap." Klaus calls all the while pulling away to regard her.

"Maybe." pause. The strawberry blond then grins. "But then I'd miss the opportunity to roast you.". She says eagerly. "You're positively glowing." She smirks a vulgar sentence on the tip of her tongue.

He chuckle. "Enough brat!" he says holding me close. "This is my wife, Bonnie."

As if her noticing me for the first time her eyes go wide.

"Oh my– it's you."She says looking from me to Klaus.

"I guess I know why you're glowing now." She admits gaining a grin from Klaus. "Seriously though, you do have a type she reminds me of,"

Whatever Summer was about to say is halted by one look by Klaus. I can tell he's upset by the way his body feels against me. The heat he's giving off is in flames.

"Summer." he grits out, the rumble of his voice reminding me of the time he went ape on Kol.

The tension in the air was so strong, that I knew everyone was on pins and needles.

Swallowing hard the playful vampire looks shaken. "I'm sorry, my mouth has a mind of its own. Klaus knows this better than anyone." she steals a glance at Klaus, then his bride. "I'm just so happy he's taken time out of his schedule of seducing and conquering for a visit." Summer says brightly.

He merely rolls his eyes at her apology. Summer, a strawberry blond with a knack for trouble and a taste for vengeance was one of his closes friends here. While most people tended to run away from him as he was trouble, she tended to get in the trenches and cause her own ruckus. Essentially they were two peas in a pod.

He had met the female vampire after his father had acquired her. His father had found the girl, scared and alone after her boyfriend had turned her in an effort to keep her. Little did he know that Summer would soon return the favor by way of literally ripping his heart into pieces.

By chance he and Summer had been here at the same time. For his part he was going through his own issues, dealing with the fallout of everything that happen with Lucy, Elijah and Kol. His family was torn apart. Elijah and Lucy were torn apart. Kol who had been in love with Lucy was a shell of himself. And as for he, well he was still trying to understand his own conflicting feelings about everything. That night it all fell apart- they all had lost something he thought they would never get back.

Klaus Flashback

He had found himself somewhere in the woods where his finally let it all go, all the rage, all the hurt all the...everything poured out of him, and he screamed for hours.

His family, they were broken, they were cursed and they were destined to tear apart everything that meant something to them. He thought of Elijah, Elijah who loved Lucy who only wanted to give Lucy what she wanted. Lucy who loved Elijah and craved for a child with the man she loved. He though of Kol who never had a chance but loved Lucy harder then he had ever loved. And lastly he thought of himself, he was the man that was going to save the day. Sadly despite all of their efforts it all came crashing down.

Out in the open he screams more likes roars into the night sky. Its unfair, its sad and it hurts so bloody much. He never realized this pain of losing something...would hurt so much. He wants to tear the world apart, rip Kol apart limb by bloody limb, maybe even dagger Elijah for begging him for help, but then he thinks of Lucy. She was the one that was hurt most in this situation. Lucy lost the baby she had carried, a baby with her parentage and his– a baby they were having so Lucy and Elijah could become parents... and Kol had robbed all of them of that.

In the distance he hears a branch and turns to see Ansels newest saved supernatural.

"What are you looking at?" he seethed. His blood was boiling, he was ready to pounce to tear apart the person who dared to interrupt him.

The vampire teetered on shoes that were obviously way to high for her.

"Obviously a whimpering..."

The words were cut off as he grabbed the vampire up by the throat. "Do you know who I am and what I can do to you."

The woman tries to chuckle but fails. "You're the man who should stop talking and start doing."

At her strange request he lets her go. "What?"

Rubbing her neck she speaks. "I thought you were the kill first type of guy?"

"You want to die?"

She shrugs "Of course I do, that way the prick that turned me would never get the satisfaction of knowing he succeeded."

He studies her now and notices the smeared makeup obviously due to crying. She was turned by force and he understands the pain of that.

"No. You live and live to watch him pay." He says matter of fact.

"Is that what you plan to do?" she asked looking away. "Make whoever made you scream till your throat nearly bled regret the day they crossed you."

He smiles "Of course. Now come I have a bottle of whisky that needs to be cracked open."

End of Klaus flashback

When he returns to the present Bonnie is looking at him questioning. He can vaguely remember Ansel asking if she wishes to speak with him and Bonnie being Bonnie had agreed.

"You okay?" The words although might sound trivial to some meant a lot to him.

"Yeah." He says pulling her close. He wouldn't lose her the way he had lost so many things in the past, he'd hold onto Bonnie for dear life.

KM-KM

Klaus

He watches as his father, as Ansel escorts Bonnie through the garden back into the house. A brow was furrowed heavily and his lips were tight. He trains his ears to listen to every sound around him as the two disappear into the confines of the house. He had an inkling that this moment meant something truly special to Ansel and to Bonnie. The two of them were eager to speak with each other. For Ansel it was a way to welcome Bonnie into his family. For Bonnie, it was much more.

Although he had loved this place, he loved the peace it brought with him. He was not blind to some of the jealous stares that had been thrown in his direction nor the direction of his wife. He would hesitate to strike first if he thought anyone would dare to make a move against he or Bonnie. The only saving grace for the naysayer that were gossiping was his father. They all loved Ansel and would never defy him out of respect.

As for Summer, well she was another story. He had gone through great lengths to get Bonnie and he would not let his old friend ruin it with her typical games. He didn't appreciate her cattiness or the implied things she spoke to Bonnie. Most of all he disliked the tension.

Summer had been a good friend to him, they were similar. The two of them often liked to stir up trouble and watch as the pieces had fallen from their destruction. He had been fun, probably still would be fun, however he did not appreciate the way she treated Bonnie. He meant what he said to Rebekah– he'd never let Bonnie go. And Summer needed to get along with is wife if she expected the two of them to be friends.

"Was that really necessary?" He asked finally turning to the strawberry blond woman in front of him. With mischievous blue eyes and a savage tongue, Summer was usually the first person he conspired with, however today– he was bored of her sudden stake to claim. "Do you have any-

Summer holds up her hand curbing whatever may have come out his mouth again. "Did I just upset the big bad hybrid?" She asks eyes glittering and lips curved into a smile.

He can only glare at her. "I'm not in the mood." He says gruffly. He says heading straight for the moonshine. His relationship with Bonnie was still fragile. If it weren't for the Salvatore he's sure she wouldn't have been so open to give him this chance.

"Seriously Klaus!" she says following him as he gets his precious moonshine. "If she can't hang?" her words linger. Klaus Mikaelson is an enigma. Everything about him is just about marvelous from the way he strikes without a care to the way he moves without a second thought. He taught her everything she knew, he changed her for the better and any woman with him had to be someone who was worth it.

He turns around sharply causing the vampire to widen her eyes. His normal denim blue eyes glitter with hints of yellow and gold. His breath labors as a growl threatens to escape his mouth.

"She is my wife and your supernatural Queen, you will as will every single one of you treat her with the respect she deserves." He says causing everyone who had been listening to all halt as he addresses them.

She bites her lip in return and resist the urge to pat his shoulder. "Listen, I was just trying to see if she was strong enough to be with you." She says smoothly though her hands are slightly shaking. "You've broken plenty of women in the past."

This time he does growl. "What you were trying to do is what you always do, and start a fight. Normally I would indulge you– feed the fire but Bonnie is my wife, not another warm body, not another notch on my bedpost. She is my wife!"

Hurt she takes a step back. Klaus has never spoken to her the way he's speaking now. She had watched him tear many people down with one look, or with the lash of his tongue. However his soft spot for her had always prevailed and had saved her from the lashing. This time though, she wasn't so sure she'd be safe from his wrath.

Exasperated she spoke. "Calm down. I'm on your side."

For a moment he takes a pause.

"I will not tolerate anyone treating her like an outsider! You can all hate me as much as you want but Bonnie is a different story. Don't try to sway her away or dare to treat her like anything less than the Queen she is or you will feel my wrath."

"Okay, I get it no more testing Bonnie out." she says through gritted teeth. "You've made it abundantly clear that she is off limits." she says with huff.

"Glad you've finally got it." He says cheerier by the minute. He blames it on the moonshine.

"Let me ask you this question?" she asked getting close. "What kind of friend would I be, if I hadn't wondered about this girl, royalty or not? You're my friend Klaus and I just wanted to make sure the woman you brought here can accept you and all your faucets?"

He drains his jar. "Summer," He says patiently. "I wouldn't have brought her here if I thought otherwise."

She looks at him almost scrutinizing. "Fine." She says not at all satisfied. "You're serious about this– about her."

"Have I been talking to myself the entire time? Of course I'm serious."

He then turns to the people pretending not to listen.

He continued ignoring the way Summer was looking at him. "A lot of you I've had rows with. He says a smile gracing his lips. He was always down for a good fight. "Some of you," pause. He licks his lips. "Have had the pleasure." He tosses out, causing those who had the pleasure to either scuff or turn their heads away. "As I said, you can hate or love me it doesn't really matter to me at all. But with my wife, you will give her respect, or I will eradicate you all as I see fit."

Having heard enough of well versed Klaus rant Summer tugs at his arm, only to gain a glare.

"Summer, I will not tolerate you or anyone else–"

She ignores the angry hybrid whose baring down at her with both vampire and wolf visage. She holds up her moonshine as if signaling the end of the conversation to others. If she let this go on Klaus was going to continue on for another hour. She is positive everyone is just as tired of hearing him rant as she is.

When the crowd dispenses she turns to Klaus who looks nothing short of murderous. His rosy lips are tight with calculating eyes starring down at her. She has seen this look before, usually its directed at everyone except her...well until now.

"What the bloody– "

She sucks in a big breath even though she doesn't need it. To be honest this is the first time she had ever seen her friend like this. He was happy, that much you could see in his eyes. It was what was behind his eyes that was telling. He would fight tooth and nail for this marriage, for this woman and it was obvious nobody could tell him nothing.

"Seriously." she says tossing her hair back. "You've been here half and hour and already the threatening has begin. What would Bonnie think? Better yet what would the elders think?" She says more to herself.

"My only concern is my wife and I know how to keep her happy, fed and..." he trails off a smirk on his lips.

"Gross."

He shrugs his shoulders. "As for anyone else, they are a not my concern. I do what I want when I want."

She rolls her eyes playfully. It seems his mood has changed for the better and that is a good thing. Nobody wants to be threaten by Klaus all day. "Obviously." she scuffs. "What kind of magic is she using on you?"

He can only lick his lips. "The tastiest kind."

She can only frown. She had never been skittish about anything but the gleaming hybrid is starting to freak her out.

"I've heard enough." She says halting any further details. "Come on, Smooth won't believe his eyes when he see's you."

He mouth hitches up into a full on smile at the mention of his friend. "I thought he was still gallanting all over the world, leaving a trail of broken hearts as he go."

A somber look crosses her pale face at the thought of the werewolf, who made all of their dead hearts swell. "He was, and now he's back."

He can tell by the sound of her voice that something is going on and starts in the direction of the cabin his dear friend smooth lived in. "He's at the cabin?"

"The one and only." She says holding her arm out. "Lets go see him.

Damon

He waited till Victoria had taken Stefan to the living room before addressing Lucy. Her chocolate brown eyes were narrowed at him, though she didn't say much. Instead she just glanced at him with barely concealed disgust and anger for what he assumed was left over from Stefan.

"Your mad." He says pouring the two of them another drink. "That much is obvious," pause. He closed his eyes trying to find patience when really he wanted to just snap at everyone for the heck of it. "But this, whatever it is will not help Bonnie."

She rolls her eyes. "Spare me the wounded look Damon, and don't pretend to know what is best for Bonnie." She says pointing long manicured nails at his chest.

He looks at her outstretched hand and holds it in his own. "We're friends Luce, you know me, you know how I am when I care about someone and Bonnie–" Pause. When he closes his eyes all he can see is the hurt in green eyes. The way she looked at him before the elders took their connection away. She was looking at him worse than Lucy ever could.

Lucy spun around on her barstool. "You mean Bonnie, the girl you nearly tore to pieces. The girl you let down more than anyone else ever could." She pointed out. "Stefan and his unhinged ass, may have hurt her, but you- you were the one who broke her heart from the beginning."

He can't stand to hear her speak like this is move away from her, though Lucy is on his heels.

"She had built up this idea that you would be her prince charming, that you and her were going to be together because that is what people told her. She believed in you and you fell flat." She says darkly. "You didn't deliver which is shocking right? When it comes to the Bennett line you always seem to find a Petrova to whine over."

He grabs another bottle of bourbon and pours himself another drink. He's lost count of how much he's drank since coming home. It's the only way to numb the pain. The pain of losing the connection. "I don't have to explain myself but I will so that you can get this through your thick skull," he says whirling around to face her. "I was in mourning!" He whispers.

"Your always in mourning Damon." Lucy says bluntly.

Glare. "You of all people know its not easy to move on from heartache." He says the implication clear.

She swallows hard. You could hear a pin drop. "Don't you ever mention..." She seethes her hands clenched into fist.

Stefan who had recovered thanks to his mother casting a healing spell on him, returns to the scene and crosses his arms in front of his chest. "Payback is a bitch, witch." He says only to be ignored.

The moment Stefan spoke, he silently thanked his brother. He had already slung mud Lucy's way and she would want to do the same to him, however they had already gone too far and he feared what the next moments would entail. He needed to get along with Lucy, for Bonnie. And to tell the truth he didn't like fighting with Lucy, she had been his friend.

Drawing her attention back his way he spoke. "Whatever I've done wrong, I'm gonna fix it. I won't let her down again." He says with finality. "After all, I'm her guardian." He says his lips hitching up into a handsome smile.

"Yeah by default." Lucy says picking up an old picture that was on the fridge. It was taken years ago, she, Bree and the Salvatore brothers. They had gotten into a lot of trouble that day. That was then though and this was now. None of them were the same.

He smiles again. "It doesn't matter, me being her co guardian, is the one thing that can get my foot in the door. It'll only be a matter of time before Bonnie realizes that everything she thought before could be still true."

She turns around and eyes him closely. "Good luck with that."she says returning to her barstool.

He leans against the island. "You don't think I can do it?" He questions with narrowed eyes. "Emily gave me your line and Bonnie is the last Bennett. And as her co guardian I could walk up to that castle Klaus calls a home and talk to her."

"Actually you could but there is no point to it." She says looking at her nails.

"And why not, I'm not afraid of Klaus or his minions." He says un-bothered. "Bonnie is mad at me, but I know how to wear a girl down."

She places her hands under her chin and studies him. He's going to flip. "Bonnie isn't home." She says simply. So trudging back to the castle as you call it is for no reason."

He blinks. "Well we can stop by later."

"That won't work either." She says simply.

He growls. "Lucy."

Lucy takes her time observing how all the Salvatore family seems to be waiting on her with baited breath. She takes a long look at all of them before settling her molten chocolate eyes on Damon.

"Klaus took Bonnie on holiday."

Her words causes a chain reaction as suddenly he's smashing every piece of china that is in his line of vision.

"Oh good grief." Stefan says with an eye roll. "I'm not cleaning this mess up."

When the kitchen is in shambles he looks up at Lucy who looked unfazed by his bout of anger.

He can't believe she let this happen! "Out of all the reckless things to do, you let her leave town with him?" He asked seething. He kept reminding himself he could in fact not snap her neck, though he might have to bite her. Lucy was starting to irritate him. "Whatever happen to being a good influence on her?" He asked fangs beared.

She runs her finger over his fang as it pricks her skin. "First of all, Bonnie can do whatever she want's to do, she's a grown woman. Secondly, I packed her bag and made sure it was filled with some of her best pieces of lingerie. Thirdly how are you, the king of reckless going to talk about someone else being reckless?" She asked still holding up her third finger.

"She's with Klaus!" He yelled so loud his mother jumped while Stefan just shook his head. He didn't care if they thought he was being dramatic, he was being practical.

"And whose fault is that!" She said in his face almost as much as he was in hers. "All you had to do was be there. To just show up and finally put someone above yourself, but you couldn't do that, definitely not for a Bennett."

He literally had to hold himself back from lurching forward. "I've made some mistakes,"

"That's putting it lightly."

"But you," He says looking at her, his vampire face on full display. "You let her walk out with Klaus! He's got enemies all over the place."

She glares at him. "Klaus will take care of her."

He can't help it, he throws a chair. "The way he took care of you?"

Stefan fake coughs. "Oh snap."

His nostrils flare. "Answer me Lucy, now!" He says through gritted teeth.

Still tung by his words she takes her time to look back up at him. 'I'll give you credit, bringing up my past hurt," She bites her lip. "You are failing to see the difference between Bonnie and me." She says with a smile.

"Spit it out." He grits.

"The difference between me and Bonnie, is that he's in love with her."

Bonnie

They say you could tell a lot about a person with just one look at the place they spend most in. Well, it was true. Ansels office, is something that looks straight out of the movies. The room has floor to ceiling windows that make you feel like you're literally outside. He has book shelves everywhere. And finally a desk that looks like it was craved by his own hands. The wood is old and if you run your hand over it, I'm sure it would tell an ancient story.

"Come, have a seat." Ansel instructs as he takes a seat behind the big oak desk.

"Thank you, for having Klaus and I here." I say looking around still in awe. When I look back at Ansel his eyes are shimmering in a way that reminds me of Klaus.

He taps his hand on the desk. "My pleasure, your family, and we always take care of our own." he says softly. "I guess this is the perfect time to thank you," He says causing me brows to furrow.

"But I didn't do anything."

He leans forward hands folded. "You've managed to make my son happy." pause. "Its rare to see Klaus happy, and you do that for him...make him happy."

I feel my face heat up at his words. I knew Klaus seemed better. He had been in a good mood since we had come here. I also knew that he liked me, he had always liked. We were insanely attracted to each other and yes our marriage started out, out of convenience but I promised him I would give this marriage a real try and I meant it. However, it didn't change the fact that- being one of the few people to hold his happiness in my hand made me pause. I didn't want to wield power like that over someone.

"All I ask," Ansel says getting up to fix me a glass of water. "Is that you be gentle with his heart."

I take the glass of water and gulp it down in one fell swoop. "I'll try." I say as Ansel makes it back to his seat.

"Now, lets get this started." he says suddenly business like. "You wanted to know about how all of this, how the origins of the war began between wolves and vampires came to be." he says with a pause. "It was all for the love of one witch."
