"Love has a way of changing your perspective."

Lucy Bennett

Chapter 25: Stages of Love

Amelia Mikaelson

In the days following the crowning of Bonnie Bennett, Amelia had been a mess of feelings. On one hand she was glad to see that the crown had finally gotten out of the hands of the elders, and now the crown rested within the confines of Niklaus and his bride. However, the isolation she felt from her family was something that was troubling her. She had done everything for them, for her husband, for her children and they had no idea what she had sacrificed for them to be happy. Which was her own happiness.

Her husband, Mikael was ghost even though he was still living. He roamed the halls with coldness all over him and in turn it made her the same way.

As for her, well her feelings about the life her children had made without her were conflicting. It was easy to put all her efforts into Mikael when he was the only person she essentially had contact with, but upon seeing her children standing as a unit with Klaus and his bride, it made her ache for so much more then that life she had allowed to become hers.

She picks up her wine glass and drains it almost immediately. She's lonely. And after a very long time of ignoring the feeling that was now embedded inside of her like her own heart-she can admit that she has been alone and lonely for a very long time.

Like most supernatural beings, she had watched the crowning of Bonnie Bennett. No longer was the crown left vacant as a result of past deeds between her, Mikael and Ansel. Now the crown sat atop of the head of a Bennett witch, and not just any other Bennett witch, but the last and strongest of the line. And right next to Bonnie, was her son and the strongest of her line as well Klaus. On one hand she was pleased to see how her children had rallied together to stand for something . . . and that something was Klaus and his happiness. Even from afar she beamed with joy at how handsome he looked standing at the side of his bride in front of the world. He looked happy, something she had always wished for him.

Now though as she mused about this and that she realized more than ever she missed her children. They had not been in the same place in so many years she wondered what would occur if for once they let bygones be bygones. Of course that would never happen; Mikael and his hatred for Klaus would prevent such an event. And let's not forget his current obsession with Bonnie Bennett. As for her other children, they would most likely stick with Klaus. Although Elijah had been elsewhere she still knew where his loyalty lye. He would never go against his brother. Rebekah was the same, though from time to time she was able to reach her only daughter she reckons that might be harder now. As for Kol, he may be her only hope as he was one to always go against the grain.

The only thing she could do was seek them out one by one. The first being Niklaus, he held all the cards in his hand. Klaus was also essentially the person who would turn her away the quickest but his need for love, for her love might grant her this one reprieve. If she could get him on her side, or to at least agree to see her then Elijah and Rebekah would follow suite.

Without much thought she sat at her bedside table, where trinkets of the past lye. Her magic may only work on the nights of full moons. However, her connection to her children was stronger than any other magic.

"Found it." She says holding up a necklace she had given Niklaus as a child. She would always be able to find her son, and this particular necklace had significance for not only Nik, but for her and Ansel as well.

She holds the necklace close to her heart as her eyes close. Soon she see with the eyes of a bird that is flying high above the sky soaring. The bird zeros in on a location, a place she should've thought instantly. Klaus was with Ansel. She would do anything to see, or at least talk to her son, even if it meant encountering his father...the man that showed her what real love felt like. She needed to speak to Klaus even if the wrath of Mikael followed it.

Just as she's about to make her a final decision she hears Mikael calling out that he will be leaving on an errand which will leave him gone for a few hours. The reprieve is one she can thank the heavens for.

Once the door is slammed shut, she waits till she can hear the sound of tires rolling across the gravel to make her move. She's gathered her wits, a glass, and a bottle of wine for this long overdue conversation.

When she dials the familiar number she waits four or five rings, expecting him to deny her phone call, only for him to pick up at the last moment.

"Ansel," She breathes into the phone, as she stares at the empty wine glass. "I was afraid you would dismiss me."

The line is silent for several seconds.

"What is it that you need Amelia?" He asks gruffly.

She wipes tears that are beginning to stream down her face. "I watched the crowning, our son, he looked so handsome . . . so happy." She says trailing off. "They make quite the pair."

"So this is about Niklaus?" Ansel asks.

She sits down on the floor next to her beloved trinkets. "I want to see my son and not on the television, I want to see him," She declares. "And he wants nothing to do with me." Pause. "He won't let me near him, but he'll trust you– Ansel please,"

Ansel scoffs. "You expect me to ruin my relationship with him because you're feeling nostalgic, or maybe your just feeling left out?"

Suddenly, she's troubled by his words as she pauses wondering where this animosity came from.

"Ansel my own son doesn't trust me." She says her voice trembling with anger.

"And he shouldn't!" The wolf roars. "If you want to fix your relationship with your son, you do it on your own."

She gasps as if he's taken a dagger to her own heart. "You've turned your back on me. You'd leave me to nothing?"

He sighs, growing tired of the conversation. "You have your husband and his bitterness Amelia! It's warmed you this long, why change things?"

"He is my son!" She says angrily.

"And he was your son when your husband was trying to break him. He's been your son while Mikael chased him across the world, with vengeance on his mind." Ansel grits out. "The next time Mikael is looking for a fight you tell him to come see me and leave my son alone!"

She understands his anger of the Mikael situation, what baffles her is why he's so short with her. They don't talk often but when they do, they discuss fond memories. Today though, he's lost the patience which normally cloths him.

"Why are you being like this?" She asks suddenly unable to help herself.

"He's happy Amelia and the last thing I want is for you and your husband to ruin it for him!"

She lets out a choked sob at his words. As he listens to the echos of a broken heart.

"Our son, is happy Amelia." Pause. "Let him be happy and let him be."

She lets his words warm her in ways she has been cold for so long. "I still have your bracelet Ansel," Pause. "Take care of our son and take care of yourself." She says ending the phone call, as a plan begins to form.

Bonnie and Klaus

Our trek to Ansel had been incredibly short. Not to mention my plan to unravel Klaus this early in the game had only made him even more confident. I swear every single time he spared me a side glance look his lips were still smiling over at me.

And here I thought getting down on my knees and placing a kiss to him would cause him to be off his game.

"You're awfully quiet, it's such a shame, I quite like your mouth." He says cheekily. His eyes roam all over her. "As well as everything else about you." He says suavely.

I glare at him which only causes him to toss his head back and laugh.

"Oh come on," He calls dragging me closer to him so that my hip is touching his.

He places a kiss onto my temple. "You couldn't help yourself love." He said all knowing. His arm is wrapped around my shoulders as we continue to walk toward his fathers home. "You just remember my whole body is at your mercy," He says grinning. "Do as you please. Just remember I'm a hard nut to crack." He says as denim blue eyes sparkle with mischief.

Suddenly I stop and lean in toward him, our bodies touching. I look up at him all the while he still has that smile on his face. I'm ten seconds of saying something smart, maybe even something filthy when the door swings open revealing Ansel with a big smile on his lips.

"Come in, breakfast is ready."

Victoria Salvatore

Victoria Salvatore had seen plenty of things in her day but what she had watched in her home earlier, between her sons and Lucy was something that she had wished never to witness again. That was why she had nearly begged the Elders for some extra help, she wanted to get down to the nitty gritty of things with her boys and the best way was to seek help outside of the Salvatore home.

The decision to ask for outside help had been one that Victoria had thought long and hard about. The elders, were serious about wanting her boys whipped into a shape, and she knew that at this point her sons were well over the age of one hundred years old, they had been without her for most of their lives as humans and because of that– she had very little clout with either son. She had hoped that they would straighten up upon seeing her, and in fact they had . . . just not to extent as she had hoped. Both Salvatore men, were as stubborn and vicious as their father and that was proved by what she had seen today.

Her sons would stop at nothing to tear down each other, other people and whomever they thought needed it in. They wanted to win at any cost. And that was not right. She could still hear the sound of an angered and hurt Lucy in her head as the witch tore into Stefan and then Damon for the hurt they had caused so many.

That was what tore her up the most. To hear first hand how her boys, her sons had used people and hurt people so effortlessly it chilled her to the bone.

She would not let them become Giuseppe even if it were the last thing she did. It was, high time the Salvatore family, went to therapy.

Bonnie and Klaus

The moment we've entered the breakfast room, my nose is assaulted with the smells of glorious breakfast that is fit for royalty. On a table a spread of various foods sits before us, croissants with condiments such as strawberry jam, chocolate spread and cream cheese. Next are eggs, scrambled and fluffy, omelets with vegetables, cheese, meat or a combination of the three. Followed by pancakes (chocolate chip, banana and blueberry,) waffles, and French toast. The selection of meat is just as copious with sausage, ham, and bacon on the menu. As well as potatoes, fruit and an array of juice and milk to satisfy even the pickiest eater.

I bite my lip. I'm in food heaven. I hadn't realized just how hungry I was until I was presented with this masterpiece before me. Without a look to Klaus I head to the breakfast area leaving him and Ansel some much needed time to talk.

As the two men, talk amongst themselves, I start stacking my plate. I've settled for French toast with cream cheese frosting, scrambled eggs, bacon as well as sausage and to finish my meal I've got orange juice.

"I'm delighted you came down to breakfast and even more delighted the spread of food is appealing." Ansel says once he's seated.

"It looks delicious." I say with an easy smile. I was a foodie at heart. I loved to eat and liked taking pictures of my food just as much.

I soon find my way over to the table where Klaus and Ansel have already seated.

"I thought the two of you got lost along the way." Ansel says while watching both his son and his new daughter-in-law. Klaus, seems to be entranced by his bride.

At his sudden words Klaus and I share a look where he's got this filthy grin on his lips and my face and the rest of my body is running hot as I think about just why we had been so late this morning.

"Well," Klaus says with a grin as he steals a piece of bacon off my plate. "We would've gotten here sooner." He says his hand placed firmly on my thigh. "But this one, over here," He says motioning toward me. "Couldn't keep her mouth off of me."

Ansel only beams at his son with male pride while I choke on my food.

"You know, since the two of you came to town, I've been thinking a lot about family, and tradition." Ansel says taking a deep breath. "I'd like the two of you to continue to come here as much as you want to, this place is my home – however it will always be open to the two of you." Ansel with so much honesty that I have to steal a look at Klaus who only inclines his head slightly as indication that he's accepted the words Ansel has said.

"Thank you," I say looking to Klaus who still is very silent. "It means a lot to the two of us." I say grabbing a hold of Klaus hand sending a jolt his way. When I look up at him again, he's got a smirk on his lips that disappears as he looks up at Ansel.

With a hint of smirk fading from his lips he finally meets the eyes of his father. Ansel had always looked at him like he was the greatest thing in the world, which was so different from the way his father . . . Mikael had looked at him. Ansel had always stood before him with open arms and an open heart and to be honest it terrified him because if he had gotten close to him, and Ansel had turned him away like Mikael had always done . . . he wasn't sure what he would do.

Swallowing hard he speaks. "I appreciate you," Pause. "Welcoming us so easily." He says placing his arm around Bonnie.

Ansel picks a piece of crumb cake off and eats it. "I'm just glad someone has made an honest man out of you." He says winking in the direction of me.

I snort. "Have you met your son?" I say playfully as Klaus rolls his eyes.

Ansel grins again. "I've only met this version of him since he come here with you. I have to say you're rubbing off on him."

Now he snorts. "You got it wrong mate. I rub off on her quite nicely." He says pleased. "She can be quite vicious, its turn on of course."

At his words I feel my face heat and elbow him, which only serves to make him chuckle into his cup of blood.

I can feel as Ansel watches the two of us with fondness. He has this glint in his eyes that almost rival Klaus– and I am quite sure the male pride is just as outrageous as his son. The two men share a look while I go back to my food.

"As I was saying." Ansel says after he clears his throat. "I've been thinking about tradition and how that fits into the lives of the two of you." Ansel calls causing Klaus to hold me closer. "Since the two of you snuck out of the barbecue the day before," Ansel calls looking from me to Klaus and then back to me and easy-going smile resting on his lips. "I was thinking perhaps, before the end of your stay, we could formally introduce you as husband and wife." He says slowly. "It would be nice to introduce the two of you to our ancestral pack."

You could almost hear a pin drop after he uttered his last sentence.

Klaus and I could only share a look. This seems an awful lot like my coronation. To go through another ordeal like that was a lot but Klaus and I were uniting witches and vampires, and wolfs with this marriage. My disdain for flashy everything was on high, however one look at Ansel and the pleading look he was sending our way, softened me just a bit.

My husband however had only picked up a piece of bacon as if no words were uttered. For the longest time we sat in silence till Klaus finally looks toward his father. "Bonnie and I were unaware this event would take place." He says simply. In reality the center of attention is his favorite place to be. He's not opposed to showing Bonnie off, no he'd love for the whole world to see her and him and be the envy of all. However, his wife was still new to all of this.

Reading the situation Ansel speaks. "I assure both you Bonnie," Ansel says looking to me. "As well as you Niklaus, my suggestion was simply just a suggestion." The wolf says while buttering a biscuit. "Seeing the two of you it just stirs something deep inside of me." Ansel continues. "It's important for a father to see his son wed, even more important that his son, carry on the traditions of your supernatural forefathers." He says a light smile forming on his lips. "That way when you have children of your own, they will be just as cultured as their parents.

I may have choked the first time with Klaus's words to his father, but now it seemed the payback was swinging in the direction of my dear husband who was now choking on scraps of bacon.

The older wolf looks between both Klaus and me before speaking again. "All of this, is wolf tradition." He says finally settling on his son. "You've spent so many years being a vampire that the way of the wolf isn't on your radar." The alpha continues. "I ask you both with an open heart, to let me wed you under the moonlight . . . let me introduce you to your pack?"

I could tell that the mention of the fact that, Klaus had known little about his wolf family, was starting to grate on his nerves. His face was getting truly red, and he looked ready to pounce, or scream . . . probably both.

"Ansel." Klaus calls out tensely all the while standing. He hated the way Ansel had acted like he wasn't a father because he wasn't following wolf tradition. Marcel was his son, he may not be biologically his, but he was his and that mattered to him. "I had hoped the next time my wife and I married my son would be at my side." He says thinking of Marcel. "This is just–"

I looked between father and son and decided to make an executive decision. "We'll do it." I say as Klaus turns his head at vampire speed in my direction. I place my hand on his knee while he's still staring me down.

Ansel beams my way though he throws Klaus a cautious look.

"So what will this wedding entail?" I ask drawing the attention back my way. Ansel seems pleased as Klaus sits next to me stunned silence. At least someone was able to shock him a bit, I had tried earlier and all I got in return was Klaus grinning at me like he knew something I didn't.

"Well," Ansel says putting his coffee down. "The ceremony will just include the three of us, as well as my wolf ancestors. I'll call upon them in their wolf form using the Turquoise stone."

I furrowed a brow. "Your magic is from the moon, that's why you wanted to wed is under the new full moon?" I asked causing Ansel to nod his head.

"Exactly, I'll be able to connect to my inner wolf and the inner wolf of everyone in my bloodline. "That is if it's what the two of you want." Ansel finishes looking from me to Klaus again.

I open my mouth when Klaus only squeezes my thigh as he then leans forward to speak to his father. "Bonnie and I, have to discuss the matter." He says firmly. "Technically we're already married so what would this wedding be about?"

Ansel swivels his chair to face his son. "It'll be about the two of you, and new beginnings." He says catching eyes with his son. "If you agree to this, your wedding will be about witch and wolf, wolf and witch in its purest forms, with the magic of nature surrounding you." He says watching as his son shifts in his seat.

Soon Ansel stands to his full height. "Once the ceremony is completed, we will celebrate every night till you return home." Ansel says suddenly nervously. "I'll leave the two of you alone to discuss."

Once we're alone Klaus turns to me.

"You really want to do this?" He asks skeptically. His eyes roam every bit of her face searching for a flaw, for the meaning behind all of this, while his heart is beating like a love sick fool.

I open my mouth when Klaus starts again.

"I had to nearly blow the house down the first time we got married and Ansel asks and you're just like sure, sounds like a good time." He says exasperated

I look him up and down. "And you're upset at the turn events?" I ask a brow raised. "Would you rather I stomp away and slam the door in your face?" I ask causing him to dimple at my words.

He then plants his hands on either side of me, all the while dragging my chair closer. "Do you remember our wedding? I spent hours planning it and even bought you and dress and you- you little shit, you wouldn't wear it." He reminds me.

"I mean looking back, I could've at least tried the dress on." I say causing him to release my face as his finger trails down it.

"Perhaps, but you and me we don't do things the easy way."

Despite everything the seriousness of our conversation I leant forward and rested my head against his chest and begin to giggle. "I wore a black dress to our wedding."

At the mere mention, he tugs her head back to see those expressive eyes. "I nearly lost my mind, at the sight of you but even in black, at our wedding no less you looked like an angel to me." He said his voice growing soft.

I looked up at him, placing my hand on his cheek. "You're laying it on pretty thick." I say biting back a smile. "You already got laid plenty of times."

He dimples. "I could go again." He says lifting her from the chair and settling her on his lap. She fits perfectly, which still boggles his mind. He places a myriad of kisses along her neck causing her to let out a tiny mew.

"I want to do it right this time." I say my eyes closed. "Last time I had a lot going on in my head." Pause. "Your brother even offered to take me away." I say causing the kisses along my neck to stop. "I was unsure then, but now I want to do this right."

If this was a new beginning where Klaus and I . . . well I was going to try and work on my marriage then why not get married all over again and start fresh. This wedding would be a reset.

He makes note to of what Kol had offered Bonnie and makes a list of ways to get him back. Aside from that, he listens to her reasons. Of course he wanted to marry her again, he wanted it to be perfect, the way it should've been in the first place. But this time he was sure it would be better, because they were together now, and not just for looks either.

"Ok." He says easily.

"Really?" I ask surprised at his turn around.

"Yeah. I'll marry you, any time, any place, always." He says his finger trailing on her bottom lip.

I say nothing but wrap my arms around him.

"You do know, I'm picking out your dress and this time," He says nuzzling her nose.

"I'll wear it." I say causing him to lean forward and bridge the gap between the two of us.

Once our mouths fuse together, I know that this is the best decision for us.

This time it'll be without the baggage of everything else.

"You know. You've made your father very happy." I say causing Klaus to pull away to look at me. "He wants this moment with you. Klaus, it's the perfect moment to solidify the fact that you are father and son."

He licks his lips. "Are you doing this for him?"

I shrug. "Maybe I'm doing this for all of us." I say wrapping my arms around his neck again.

Mystic Falls

Stefan

Stefan Salvatore had spent the last hour or so going over spells, he hoped would aide in the fight he knew was coming. While Damon was being oddly aloof and resigned to his bullshit and delusional thinking, he was pondering a way to at least stun the Mikaelson family when they decided to descend upon them.

Just as he was able to toss something across the room with his mind Damon came in all mother hen mode probably because something had been broken.

"You break it you buy it." The raven vampire had said as he put on his leather jacket and surveyed yet another mess his brother had created. He still blamed everything that had happen and probably would happen because Stefan couldn't just trust him and wait.

Green eyes roll hard as he watches his brother. "Where are you off to?" He asks not giving Damon time to talk. "Let me guess you're gonna try to get into Bonnies room, take a look around be your usual creepy, stalker, sloppy self." Stefan says chuckling at his own joke. Damon was a joke in itself but what was even funnier was to remind his older brother of how much of a cliche he had become.

Cerulean eyes glare. "I'm off to see Bree."

Stefan snorts. "Hoping she can save you from the wrath of the Mikaelson family, good luck with that." He says dryly. "You do remember Klaus dumped her ages ago."

"Screw you Stefan, why don't you go and write in your journal." Damon says hotly.

"I will and the first thing I'll make sure to note is how your still sniffing for someone to whine to, not to mention after another mans wife." He grins. "Give Bree my best, she'll need it, after hearing you gripe and moan about you, Bonnie and destiny."

He's not surprised when seconds later Damon is in his face huffing and puffing. "You wanna talk about destiny?" Damon says with a tilt of the head.

Green eyes flash. "You don't wanna go with me, especially with what you've already done screwing up my destiny." He says getting closer to his brother. Damon had thrown a wrench in destiny when he went after Elena and that was why they were in the current situation they were in.

Damon nods his head and backs away. "I'll be back."

"Wait." He calls causing Damon to stop. "You do realize that you screwing with my destiny is what fucked up yours. You say you and Bonnie are meant to be, well so were Elena and I– but you got in the way of that and now your precious Bonnie is getting her back broke by Klaus." He says not surprised when he hears the door slam and break as Damon leaves the house.

Stefan and Caroline

Sometime later Caroline had convinced him to the gym because she's a vampire and needs to make sure she's in tip top shape. He can only roll his eyes at her but still manages to take along.

He like most was a fan of the gym, he just preferred boxing as opposed to anything else.

"How long do I have to be here?" He asks getting his hands taped up.

Caroline who was jumping rope stops and gives him the side eye. "What is your deal you've been pissy all day?"

He starts punching the bag enjoying the way the feeling of hitting something makes him feel. "Well you watch the love of your love vanish to nothing and then talk to me." He says bluntly.

Sullen she looks down. "Stefan."

"And then," He says continuing. "You try dealing with your sloppy brother who has always been a liability and deal with the fact that you've lost being a vampire." He hits the bag again. "And then Victoria Salvatore pops up and she's just as much of a mess as you and your brother." He stops punching the bag. "She hasn't put the bottle down, since returning home." He adds. "I guess it runs in the family."

"Ok." Caroline says putting her jump rope down all together. "You've had a rough couple of days." She says smiling her fake smile. "Your family is filled with alcoholics, but your still here and now you have your mother and your brother."

He continues to punch the punching bag. "Add that to the fact that just about everyone I've wronged made sure to make an appearance in my dreams in the night before."

Deciding to hold the punching bag Caroline gets in front of Stefan. "You think everyone you hurt visited last night."

He blinks. "Not everyone but the ones I wronged the most-made sure to make an appearance and they were talking shit." He says finally getting winded. "It's like every time I close my eyes a new memory surfaces." He grits.

He motions for the two of them to sit down. "I've done a lot of bad Caroline, some from my ripper days, others from just being me. Deep down, or maybe not so deep down, I know that I manipulate those around me. I'm no better than Damon."

Caroline shakes her head. "You're so much better than Damon, I know you've done a lot of bad, but you did a lot of good too." She says placing her hand on his shoulder. "If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be here, you taught me how to be me and be comfortable being me."

Stefan sits back. "Okay, I may be a tad bit better than Damon– but I hide my deception better than he does."

She lets the words sink in before speaking. "Does that mean you regret what you've done?" pause. "What you were going to do to Bonnie?"

He looks up. "No." He says honestly. "I'd do it all again if it would bring Elena and me together. I would throw it all away for her."

Blue eyes widen as she listens to her friend continue to talk. She is about to tell him how insane he sounds, and sad it is truly hearing his words. She never thought she'd see the day when Stefan scared her. And the way he was talking was starting to scare her. He had little to no remorse of anything because it all led him to Elena. What kind of crap is that.

Just as she was about to give him a piece of her mind, his phone beeps.

"It's mother, it seems I've been summon." He says despondently. "Do you think she'll ground me for what happened with Bonnie or what happened with Lucy?" He asks getting up from the bench. "Truly the whole thing with Lucy had everything to do with Damon and not me, but I made sure to get my licks in."

Caroline can only look at him mouth wide open. "Who in the heck are you and what happened with Lucy?"

He only shrugs. "One minute she's sliding against me, the next I'm on my knees."

Caroline can only gape.

"I guess you had to be they're."

Damon

When he enters the bar, it's crowded as per usual. He takes his favorite seat as one of the bartenders fixes his drink because he is a celebrity in these parts after all. When the nameless woman is done pouring his drink, she attempts at flirting and normally he'd be down but not tonight.

"Listen sweetie, do me a favor and get Bree- I'm not interested tonight." He says offering her his trademark smirk.

Minutes later Bree has come out of the backroom looking heated.

"You better not be playing mind games with my waitresses or my bartenders Damon. I'm in no mood." She glares standing in front of him with her own bottle of alcohol.

He shrugs. "That makes two of us."

She looks at him real good before speaking. "Well then, it's good you just missed Lucy because she was out for blood and by that I mean your blood."

He chuckles. "At least a Mikaelson hasn't beat down my door, which only means it'll happen later." He surmised.

She leans against the bar. "What did you do?" She asked not surprised he had done something because well it was Damon. He was a pain but he meant well, most of the times.

He takes a shot. "I may have, " He licks his lips. " I may have, mentioned how Elijah left her." Bree lets out a startled gasp. "And," He continues. "That Kol is still walking around after everything he did."

Outraged she poured the whole bottle of vodka on his head. "You really are trash Damon!" She screeches. "You mentioned her baby– who does that?" She glares.

He wipes his face with napkins. "Obviously, someone who wasn't thinking clearly." He says deadpan. "It slipped. He mumbles.

"I should kick your sorry arse for her!" Bree bellows still angry. "Just when I think you can't get any lower." She says disgusted. Lucy had been her friend and she deserved better than that crap Damon had pulled.

He braces his arms on the bar. "Listen it just slipped out." He says desperate for someone to believe him. "She was talking all this crap about Klaus loving Bonnie and just...I just snapped."

At his words she looked down. "He loves her, that- that makes sense." She says quietly.

He narrows wild eyes her way. "Don't tell me she convinced you,"

"I saw them." She admits. "They called and I saw them." She bit her lip. "Bonnie was glowing and Klaus–"

He furrowed his brow. He didn't know where wolfy had taken Bonnie but if Bree could describe it maybe he could figure it out. "Glowing, like from the sun?"

She gives him one long look before speaking. "More like she's been screwed properly." She watches as the little color drains from his face and his eyes become that of the color of ice. "If you're not sprung on his winning personality, his dimples, or good looks," She bites her lip. "That D, will get you. Once you get Klaus D, you can't go back."

The glass he was holding shatters in his hand. "Not on my watch."

She watches as he heads for the door. "Where are you going?"

He turns back to look at her. "I'm about to pull a Stefan."

Just as he was about to start with his plan, Victoria texted him about a family meeting. That would have to wait he had a marriage to ruin.

Klaus and Ansel

The very moment Bonnie had suggested that he and Ansel should use this time to talk about the wedding and other things, he had wanted to tell her she should stay, however he had fought against the words that had bubbled in his throat.

Was it his fault that he was that he was stuck on her, no but that witch had made it hard to leave her side for long. He had watched as she had walked out the room, with a sway of hips he was aching to have his hands on.

"You good?" He hears Ansel call. Finally he turns his attention from the retreating form of his wife to his father.

"Perfectly fine." He says, suddenly parched.

"You look thirsty."Ansel says thrusting a glass in front of him.

He takes it gladly swallowing the liquid that tries and fails to quench his thirst. What he wants is his wife but he'll settle for whisky.

"When we were discussing the wedding, when I brought it up you didn't seemed to pleased, are you sure you want to do this or is this all for show?"

He looks up. "I was caught off guard, but none the less it's a good one."

Ansel nods his head before revealing his cards. "You know in wolf culture once you marry someone it is for life, and typically after that kind of ceremony is preformed and you take Bonnie as your true mate that's when it all begins."

He tilts his head to the side. "What are you trying to say?"

"What do you want out of this marriage Klaus, what do you want from her?"

He pinches his lips together. "I want everything, and I want it with her and only her."

Ansel rubs his hands together. "What about children?" He asks only to get a strong look from his son. "I know you have Marcel."

He sits up. "Marcel is my son, so tread lightly, with whatever you have to say."

Ansel holds his hand up in surrender. "I was never going to speak ill about Marcel, I know how much you love him. I just wanted to know about biological children."

He shrugs his shoulders not offering words.

Ansel can tell he's probably overstepped his boundaries but continues on. "My family, has carried stones with them, and passed it down to me, when you marry Bonnie in the proper way- I will pass them onto you. One of those stones is a fertility stone."

At that notion he is only mildly interested. He won't be needing a stone, he'll plant himself in Bonnie at the right time. However, he'll still keep an ear out for what Ansel is saying.

"Good to know." He says simply.

Silence drags while Ansel brings out a cigar.

"I spoke to your mother today." Ansel says carefully.

At the mere mention of his mother, the amount of alarm he felt was high. Accusingly he looks at Ansel ready to do whatever it is to protect Bonnie. "You didn't tell her anything?"

"No." Ansel says. "But I think she knows you're with me," He pauses to look over at Klaus. "Mother intuition." He voice then softens. "She misses you."

He can only glare at Ansel if he is so desperate to be a fool and believe anything Amelia has to say then it's all on him. He however, won't trust her. "She's after power and probably prestige." He rants. "She won't be getting that from me or Bonnie."

Sensing his misstep Ansel speaks again. "Calm down son!"

"I won't!" He roars. "Not when it comes to Amelia." he says. "I won't calm down!" He breathe heavily all the while debating his next words.

With a heavy sigh he speaks again. "Bonnie was attacked before her crowning." He admits. "She set the ghost straight, but not before the ghost mentioned Amelia."

Ansel puts out his cigar. "Amelia wouldn't do that." He says more to himself.

Klaus meets his eyes. "She would, for him, she would do anything." He grits as his hands form a fist. "You talk to her again, you tell her not a hair on my wife head is to be disturbed and if I find out she had anything to do with scaring Bonnie, or attempting to hurt Bonnie, I'll consider Amelia enemy number one."

Ansel can only nod. "I'll leave you to calm down."

Bonnie

My plan had been to walk around and finally give Klaus and Ansel some father and son time alone. As far as I could tell, father and son had a rather good relationship and I hoped that continued.

As I continued my walk I took in the sights and smells of the upcoming event. I loved carnivals and I was positive I would drag Klaus on just about every ride I saw. After all it was tradition, and even though the tradition started back home with Melissa and I, and then later Melissa, I and Kol. It was now time for my husband to join our squad.

Picking up my phone I decided to call Lucy. She had literally come back from everything and I knew I needed to check on her. It couldn't be easy. I wanted her to be comfortable even when I wasn't around.

I watched as a couple strolled through the streets hand in hand and I couldn't help but think of the day before and the night before and lets not forget this morning. Maybe Lucy could even help me with my Klaus situation, if she weren't still spending time with Bree.

This was place was turning me into one of those sappy girls, which I was not. But after everything with Klaus, how could I not be. I wanted to do something for him, something that shared a part of me with him just as he had shared this place with me.

I knew Klaus didn't eat real food much but he did indulge in sweets. I wasn't much a cook but I could bake and prepare candy dishes with the best of them. Suddenly the idea of making a banana pudding sounded like a piece of heaven. We use to make them all the time especially when it got really hot. The only other thing I could think of is the Bennett family sweet potato cake with cream cheese frosting. Lucy, could help me figure out which was better suited for the hybrid as soon as she called me back.

Once I tried to get a hold of Lucy my call ending before it even started. I was just about to use magic when suddenly my phone vibrated causing me to grin. "Lucy! I need your help! Klaus has a thing for sweets and I want to surprise him." Pause. "If you throw a dirty joke my way– I will hang up." I say grinning. "Okay maybe I won't hang up because his tongue game is on point." I say as my thoughts get so jumbled. I even forget to ask her how things are going.

After a few seconds I start to get worried at her silence. "Luce, Lucy are you okay?" I ask panicked. I knew I should've asked her how things were going.

"Bonnie."

My eyes widen at the sound of that voice. Why in the world was he calling me! "Damon?"

Summer

It was per tradition that everytime Klaus came to town and he did at the same time each year– that she, Klaus and Smooth would go to the fair together. It was one of the many things they did to just normalize their lives. When they were at the fair, it didn't matter that they were supernatural and although Klaus grumbled the most she was sure he loved it as much as everyone else did.

After a quick look in the mirror she ties her hair up in a messy bun. Her outfit of choice is jean cutoffs and a halter top with sandals. Klaus had always said peach looked nice on her and just for that she wore peach all for him.

With one last look she leaves the restroom only to spot Bonnie. The witch looks stunning. Her skin glowing, glossy luscious chocolate hair is cascading down her back and her green eyes are looking down. The witch has got earbuds in her ears apparently on a phone call.

Summer is ten seconds from turning around until she hears the sound of another man on the other side of that call. Using her enhance hearing she begins to listen and then smile.

"Gotcha bitch." Summer says a genuine smile falling on her lips.

She uses her vampire senses and speed to find Klaus and when she finally finds Klaus the truth comes spilling out of her mouth in seconds.

"She would never..." He protest nostrils flaring.

She takes in his face how the happiness she had seen earlier has ebbed away to pure fury. It was a sight to see. Klaus in all his complexity craved someone who would be true to him. That would never be Bonnie.

She places her hand ontop of his, similar as to when he had confessed the heartache of Kol and his betrayal to the family. "She just did."
