I hurt you.
I know I did. I saw it in your eyes that day. The hurt, the pain, the betrayal. All pouring out of those endless blue pools. Pools begging me to stay.
But I couldn't.
I couldn't stay. No matter how much I wanted to stay, to hold you in my arms and never let go, I couldn't. It wouldn't be fair to you if I did. I can't devote myself to you as you devote yourself to me. Not yet. There is something I must do first. A mission I must complete. Only when I can complete it will I be able to go on.
