About two years after Tony had snapped and brought everyone back, severely damaging his arm in the process. Even though his arm wasn't salvageable, at least he was alive. Shortly after returning, May and Happy had begun dating. Peter was happy for them, he really was, but it was weird to see Happy with his aunt.
In April, the couple had been married and sent on a two month honeymoon to Italy. All expenses were being paid by Tony, of course. Because Peter was still a minor, Tony signed as a temporary guardian and he was sent to live with them at the Cabin and the Tower.
Peter was convinced that Tony only sent May and Happy on such a long honeymoon so that he would be close by at all times. This was completely fine with Peter since he didn't want to be separated from his temporarily adoptive father either. Peter was loving staying at the Tower on weekdays and the Cabin on weekends, that is until it was his turn to host the Academic Decathlon Sleepover. It was a team-building activity MJ had started at the beginning of their Senior year to help the team connect more. Peter was regretting his whole arrangement with Tony as he waited on the steps outside the school for the SI charter bus that was being borrowed to take them to the Cabin for the weekend.
"Uhm, Peter," Brad sighed. "If we wait any longer, we'll miss the subway and it'll take us forever to get to your apartment."
"I told you, we're being picked up at the school," Peter groaned.
"I don't know if you knew this, Parker," Flash sneered, "But any car you own wouldn't be big enough to fit all of us."
"It's not my car," he shrugged. He finally caught sight of the tell-tale SI symbol painted on the side of the mini-bus.
"Oh, look! I bet one day one of us is going to get to ride on one of those!" Betty exclaimed, pointing out the bus. Peter rose from the steps and swung his backpack over his shoulders.
"That day is today," He smirked, the team looked at the bus in awe as it turned into the school parking lot. Pulling to a stop, Sam, being the one to lose his last bet with Bucky, jumped out of the driver's side and rounded the front to address them.
"Alright, kids. The name's Sam and I'll be your driver today," He sighed. "You can sit in any seat you want but Pete's up in shotgun with me so don't even try to call it. We're going to a disclosed location so don't be surprised if you suddenly can't see out the windows at all. Don't bother checking your maps on your phones either, Friday will disable them the minute you're on the bus. While you enter the vehicle, I will give you a wristband. You have to keep this wristband on the whole weekend or you will be labeled as a threat and face dire consequences so please just keep it on. Be respectful of the property and enjoy yourselves.
"You guys ready?" Peter asked. He was met with looks of confusion but shrugged them off and climbed into the passenger seat. Five minutes later, everyone was situated with their wristbands and disabled maps.
"Peter, is it a long ride?" Abe asked, innocently.
"It's not too long, don't worry. Maybe MJ can quiz us on our way over, though?"
"Great thinking, loser," MJ smirked.
"I try," He shrugged. After a forty-five minute drive full of rapid-fire questions, they finally arrived at the cabin. Pepper was waiting for them on the porch, obviously having been notified by Friday of their arrival. Peter avoided the lingering gazes of his classmates while he hopped out of the bus to give Pepper a hug.
"Everything going okay so far?" Pepper asked.
"Well, Sam hasn't killed anyone yet."
"That's good," she chuckled. "Hello, everyone. I'm Pepper, and welcome to my home. There are snacks in the kitchen and you'll be staying in the barn out back. Peter can show you there first so you can put your bags down and arrange the rooming situation."
"I've got it, don't worry. You can go get Mo," Peter assured her.
"Thanks, hun. I'll be back in about twenty minutes, okay?"
"Are you taking Rescue?" Peter was confused because it was a thirty minute drive to Morgan's school alone.
"Maybe," Pepper winked. Peter chuckled and led everyone to the barn, listening to murmurs about having to stay in a barn. What they didn't realize is that a billionaire's barn is a little different than a farming barn. The barn had been outfitted to house any avenger that wanted to come stay, including the whole team at once. It was massive and state of the art. The team was in awe as soon as the barn was in view.
"Peter, how did you do this?" Betty asked.
"Well, remember how May got married last month?" Peter asked.
"Yeah, wasn't it to some guy named Harold or something like that?" Abe said.
"It was, yeah," Peter nodded. "Harold 'Happy' Hogan is my step-uncle."
"Like Happy Hogan, Tony Stark's old bodyguard and current head of security?" Brad's jaw dropped.
"Actually, he's Asset Management now too, and he also picks me up from school and drives me to my internships after school every day."
"Wait, so if he's your normal driver, who drove us today?" Cindy asked.
"Uhm, so that was Sam Wilson…"
"No way," Flash said. "You did not get the new Captain America to pick us up from school."
"Technically, he had to because he lost a bet with Bucky, so I didn't ask him or anything," Peter shrugged. There was a knock on the barn door and it swung open to reveal Tony.
"Hey, kiddos! Just got back and thought I'd check in and see how things are going. Maybe see if you wanted us to bring the snacks out here or if you guys wanted to hang out back at the house. Pepper's gonna be back soon with Mo and she's been waiting to meet you guys all day."
"Why don't you guys find a place to put your stuff? I need to go put my stuff in my room anyways and then you can meet us in the kitchen?" Peter suggested.
"Go, Peter, I can handle the team," Michelle smirked.
"Thanks, Em!"
Peter followed Tony back to the cabin and into his room.
"So, MJ, huh?" Tony smirked.
"Oh my gosh," Peter groaned, chucking a pillow at his mentor.
"Wow, you must really like this girl," Tony chuckled. Peter glared at Tony, before hearing thrusters outside. Saved by the bell.
"Mo's back!" He exclaimed, making his escape down the stairs, Tony not far behind. The decathlon team was seated in the kitchen when they entered.
"Petey!" Morgan shouted, launching herself across the room and into his arms.
"Hey, Mo? Why so excited? I saw you this morning," Peter laughed.
"I know! It's been forever! Plus I wanna meet your friends!"
"Alright, Maguna. This is the team. That's Betty, Flash, Brad, Abe, Cindy, Sally, Charles, Seymour, Jason, and then Ned and MJ." Peter said. Morgan focused on Ned and MJ, obviously having recognized their names.
"You're the ones who know Peter's Spider-Man, aren't you!" Morgan exclaimed, oblivious to Peter's choking in the background and the wide eyes of the entire team.
"Okay, Momo," Tony cringed, taking her from Peter's arms. "I think that's enough of Peter's friends."
"Uhm, what was that?" Sally asked.
"It- uh it was nothing," Peter shrugged.
"Actually it sounded like you're Spider-Man," Abe smirked.
"Ahh, uhm, actually… about that," Peter stuttered.
"Dude, like we all knew," Betty rolled her eyes.
"What?! No we didn't!" Flash exclaimed.
"Well, obviously we didn't tell you or Brad. You guys hate Peter." Cindy said.
"What makes you think we hate Peter," Brad laughed nervously.
"Well Flash bullies him, and you're rude because MJ likes him and not you." Charles shrugged.
"Wait, wait, wait," Peter interrupted. "So you're saying you all knew I was Spider-Man."
"Well, yeah. You weren't subtle. What was surprising is that Iron Man is actually your dad." Betty said.
"Tony is not my dad," Peter stressed.
"Wow, Roos. And here I was coming to back you up about how you definitely aren't Spider-Man and you're disrespecting our father-son relationship," Tony sighed.
"Tony, I have everything under control," Peter groaned.
"Really. Cause it looks to me like your whole team already knew you were Spider-Man."
"To be fair, you didn't give me a nano-suit until right before I got all dusty and it's not easy to change into that suit discreetly."
"So you're blaming this on me?" Tony smirked, eyebrow raising.
"Uh, yeah, I guess I am," Peter shrugged. The team's eyes widened.
"Alright, well as fun as this banter is, you guys are here for a reason and clearly Peter being Spider-Man isn't surprising to you so I guess we can bring Mo back out. You should probably start studying, though."
"Hey, Tony," Peter stopped him. "Thanks."
"Anytime kiddo," Tony smiled. "Besides, now Pepper is on dish duty for a week because I bet that your team totally knew and she thought that you were better at keeping secrets."
"That was a mistake on her part," MJ laughed.
"Yes it was, Peter's scary girlfriend."
"Tony!" Peter shrieked. The sounds of laughter from his teammates faded and Peter woke up in a cold sweat. He looked around his tiny flat, devoid of any light or memories from his past life. At least Tony was alive, and MJ and Ned were safe. Tony and Pepper were able to raise Morgan without having to worry about his Spider antics.
Swinging his legs over the side of his bed, Peter pulled on a jacket and headed up to the roof of the apartment building. He sat on the edge, feet dangling over the edge. He didn't have his web-shooters on but he wasn't afraid of falling either way. He sat listening to the sounds of the city until he heard something he hadn't heard for months. There was a clang of metal behind him.
Peter jumped up and spun around, coming face to face with the Iron Man suit. The face plate flipped up to reveal Tony Stark underneath, his patented smirk on his face.
"You're a hard person to find, Peter Parker," He said. "Or should I say"
…
"Spider-Man?"
