Thank you so much for those that read the first chapter. Review responses will be at the bottom and going forward, expect chapter updates to be weekly, give or take. Special thanks goes out to Blackwolf for giving extensive feedback and looking over minor issues.

To think, he has some nerve showing up like this.

Princess Star Butterfly was feeling particularly annoyed this very moment, clenching her newly reformed magical wand as she guided her former… crush, down a flight of stairs.

Star didn't even turn around, completely ignoring his ramblings about his time on Earth being boring. But she did freeze when he began mentioning Jackie.

"Yeah, things didn't… work out with Jackie. She kinda dumped me."

An ugly laugh nearly threatened to escape her lips but she thanked the Stump she held some composure. Instead, she turned around and gave him a glare that made the boy recoil. His brown eyes looked hurt. Seeing her displeasure was known, she resumed her trek down the stairs.

Uncharacteristic silence hovered in the air between the two friends…

Are we even friends still?

Star felt her heart ache asking that, but she couldn't just ignore the hurt, intentional or otherwise, Marco caused her.

Star hugged herself, feeling a chill course through her. She felt something cover her shoulders, looking behind her and seeing Marco fix his hoodie now that the meat blanket was off him.

"Uh… You looked cold."

She closed her eyes, taking in his scent from the meat blanket. He's been wearing this for a while, huh? The musky scent almost made up for him rudely interrupting her moment with…

"Oh corn! Didn't tell Tom about…"

"Right, I wanted to ask you about that," Marco started, rubbing his arm awkwardly and avoiding Star's curious look. "He's treating you well? He's my friend but I know he's still working out the angries."

Star blinked, surprised at how sheepish Marco was sounding. For a split second, she saw herself a few months back in his spot. She turned away, doing her best to get him to Lavabo as fast as possible.

"Yeah, we're doing well."

She heard Marco say 'Oh' and assumed he followed her. After a few moments of tense silence, they arrived at the door and she kicked it open. Star smiled at the lovely scents hovering in the air, part of her amused at Marco wincing at a dirty pile of clothes in a corner nearby. A somewhat lanky Knight walked up to the Princess, giving her a respectful bow.

"If isn't Princess Star!" He looked at Marco, folding his arms. "And you must be the owner of the Princess's favorite hoodie."

"Wait, what now?" Marco asked but Star quickly gave Lavabo a dirty look, silencing the Knight. Marco looked at Star's forced smile and shrugged his shoulders, walking around and studying the laundry room.

Seeing him occupied, she walked over Lavabo and pulled him aside, having a somber expression on her face. "...Look, going to level with you. Things are, uh…" She looked at Marco, seeing him pop a bubble and a lint creature lunging at him. He entered into a short bout with the creature, with Marco using a nearby lance to keep the creature at bay. Star giggled but caught herself, rubbing her arm.

Lavabo put a gentle hand on her shoulder, Star looking up at the Knight and mouthing 'thank you'. He coughed, getting Marco's attention and scaring off the Lint creature. "Princess Star has assigned you to help me keep these barbarish lint and dust creatures at bay."

Marco made a salute, looking at Star and smiling. But she gave him a blank expression. She wordlessly walked away, waving goodbye to the two of them and closing the door behind her.

She leaned on the door, falling on her knees and hugging herself. "This… This shouldn't be so hard." Closing her eyes, she willed herself up and harshly patted her cheeks. "Come on Butterfly! You have Princess Duties to do."

And like that, Star walked up the seemingly endless stairs, hoping that maybe Tom could help her with royal crap to keep her mind busy. She looked toward the only window, something she didn't remember particularly being there.

Despite plenty of daylight still burning, a vivid Blood Moon shone down on Star. She felt the light burn her skin, stumbling forward on the flight of stairs hissing in pain. Using Marco's cape as a makeshift shield, she rushed up the stairs as the red light stalked her.

She tackled through the wooden door before her, grinning in victory… But the moment she looked at the balcony, a mysterious figure hid within the red light. "Who are you?!" Star shouted, flicking her wand and feeling her body grow slightly taller.

The figure said nothing, only holding out both her hands and pointing them at Star. A surge of magic struck Star and she started screaming…

"Ahhhh!" Star bolted up, heavy breaths escaping her chapped lips. Rolling out of her large bed, she let a surge of golden magic build up in her right hand, ready to kill anyone on sight. Sensing no one was in the room but her, she relented and let out a relieved sigh.

Brushing some strands of messy blonde hair out of her blue eyes, she looked at her vanity mirror. A deep frown was on her face, walking toward the object and studying herself. Bags were under her blue eyes, the result of another sleepless night for the past month.

"Just… who is this Marco guy?" Star asked out loud and felt annoyance bubble up. "Seems like every dream with him ends horribly." Figuring sleep would elude her, Star decided to stay up and brush her hair.

Easily brushing through her somewhat messy locks, she managed to fix her lengthy hair in a ponytail and used makeup to mask the bags under her eyes. She just let herself relax, enjoying the peace and quiet as the Lucitor Kingdom's red and orange skies shined from her window. Normally demonic shrieks would've woken her up but those dreams did a bang up job as of late.

After looking herself over for a moment, Star smiled as she walked toward her closet and put on one of her favorite outfits. A simple black and purple dress, with cute spiders and orange combat boots to match. Today is a fun day, I can dress casually for once. She grabbed a pair of purple and red horns, her thumb brushing over the plastic.

"Can't wait for the crown," She smiled, fixing the headband on and made a gleeful spin. A loud laugh got her attention, nearly making Star jump out of her skin. She felt annoyance bubble up and harshly pushed her favorite demon away from her.

"Come ooon, Starship, just wanted to surprise you," Thomas Lucitor gave his trademark snarky grin, with Star pouting at. Looking at her fiance she couldn't believe how little he changed over the years. Despite getting taller, he still rocked that dumb black suit. That dumb red tie. And always had a pair of those dumb sunglasses on hand.

"What?"

"Oh, nothing," Tom smirked, poking Star's cheek. "Just that your face is glowing again."

Star turned toward her mirror and blinked owlishly, before a girlish pout formed on her face. Tom started laughing as small bolts of pink magic escaped Star's hands, 'playfully' attacking the demon. One of them struck Tom's right arm, making it fall off on the spot.

"Seriously, don't sneak up on me like that," She mumbled, walking to her desk and turning away from him. He heard a loud 'snap', with Tom throwing his reattached arm around Star's shoulders. Tom's grin never escaped his face, amusing Star. She turned around and folded her arms.

"I love surprising you babe," He kissed her cheek, earning an eye roll from Star. "And come on, I know you're excited about tomorrow too." Star smiled back, eyes looking over the many pictures she hung up around the desk.

You're telling me. Blue eyes that've seen much more than someone her age looked over them all as if she were in her forties, reflecting on so much. A simple brawl during a game of flags as a little girl, their very first date at the Lava Lakes, and even the two doing their best to look 'official' when officially crowned rulers of their respective kingdoms… He's always been there, even if he's annoying sometimes.

Tom picked up one of the pictures, making a loving sigh. "Oh, just looking at our first kiss," Star took the picture and smirked. "Yeah, I don't do photo booths."

"Yeah, could tell after you razzed it to the ground when the little gremlin wanted a tip," Tom rolled his eyes, leaning on the desk. "Surprised you were a decent kisser," Tom raised an eyebrow. "You're a literal living fireball. Expected them to be more chapped, to be honest."

"I like to surprise you," He winked.

Star looked back at the picture and suddenly felt her head throb. She clenched it and looked at the picture again. She threw the picture on the table and nearly fell over if Tom didn't catch her. "W-Who is that?"

Tom grabbed the picture, narrowing his eyes and scanned the picture over. "Uh… It's us Starship." He put the picture down, putting a gentle hand on her shoulder. "What did you just…"

"That guy from the dreams…" Star winced, mumbling a healing spell and using her right hand to heal her mingrine. "You're sure you know nothing about Blood Moon?"

Tom looked away from her for a split second, something Star noticed. But right as if he didn't notice, Tom composed himself and gave a guilty smile. "Sorry, Pops and my family burned all the Blood Moon stuff eons ago."

"Sure…" Star mumbled, hoping the migraine would pass. "This has to be from stress, we have been on overdrive with royal duties lately." Tom smirked despite himself. Star harshly shot a blast of blue magic at him, which he effortlessly blocked with a flaming shield. "Not those, you pig."

"One day, you'll relent," Tom said playfully, his demonic tail wagging like a mut. "Anyway, I can tell you're not up for hanging out. I'll call ya in a few hours babe,"

"Yeah, love you too, husband." She teased, pleased at seeing Tom for once taken off guard. The demon slinked into his fire portal and Star was alone once more.

She picked up the picture again, frowning at yet again seeing Marco in Tom's place. "Just… who are you to me?" She studied the picture as if it was a royal decree, picking apart all the little details. But the more she studied it, the more her heart marks glowed. "Oh corn, this is just ridiculous."

She groaned in annoyance, her face falling on some papers. I don't even have girlfriends to talk to about this. Getting her face off the desk, she looked at the picture again and formed a small smile.

"If I'm smitten by a phantom, at least it's a cute one," She sighed and put the picture back where it was on her mirror. Waving her hands around her ears, magical headphones were conjured up and she pressed the screen on her mirror phone. Letting the soothing sounds of death metal calm her troubled soul, she went right to work on the remaining royal decrees and drafts for laws in her own kingdom.

"Princess?" Star absentmindedly heard someone call for her, but the loud music drowned out whatever else they were saying. She turned toward the lone skeleton servant, it's short but stubby stature looking up at her expectantly.

"Hold on," She snapped her fingers, making the headphones vanish, but the music then blasted from her phone. The skeleton recoiled from the loud lyrics and just looked up at Star in utter disbelief.

Star tilted her head and once realizing the music was still playing, she mouthed 'Oh' and turned her phone off. "...I was sent by King Thomas the…"

"I know, Tommy wants to hang out later on a 'proper date' before he puts a ring on it, gotta ya," Star got up and stretched her arms. "Maybe tell him to pull his weight sometimes? I don't mind it but, it would be nice if I wasn't the only one looking over Lucitor Kingdom laws."

The skeleton gulped. "H-He would kill me if I said that," Star gave him a blank expression. "Death for us isn't fun, even if we can be revived easily."

Star sighed and knelt down to meet the skeleton at eye level. "Steve was it?" The skeleton nodded, with Star smiling. "I remember you helping a Demon Knight as a squire a few months ago. I'll put in a good word for you."

The demon's eye sockets glowed a bright blue before he bowed in thanks. Star smiled as the little guy nearly tripped over himself in excitement. He has to be nicer to his servants. Star fixed the wrinkles in her dress and poofed on a black hoodie… She tried anyway, before realizing it was red.

"...No." She snapped her fingers again, the sleeves ripped off and having black and green patterns. "Much better," She tucked her hands into the pockets as she walked out of the room, passing by various demons, skeletons, and other nightmarish creatures.

If Star asked herself at the ripe age of thirteen that she would be more than okay co-running one of the darkest kingdoms in all of Mewni, she would've laughed. But at the age eighteen, she shrugged at the idea. At least they aren't monsters.

Familiar blood-lust coursed through her merely remembering the hardest two years of her life, but taking a deep breath and remembering what the late Miss Heinous taught her, Star calmed down. A perfect princess doesn't let petty crap bring her down. Focus.

Violent thoughts passed, Star found herself in the dining hall, smiling at a humanoid bat pulling out her seat. "Thank you," She sat down and neatly fixed her spot, putting the plates and forks in the correct places. The bat blinked in confusion but Star giving it a look made it stay silent. "The usual, with some strong Butterfly Corn Ale."

"...Of course," The bat flew off, leaving Star alone with her thoughts. She looked around the dining hall, feeling a sense of pride swell inside her. Glad Tom listened to me for once on something. What usually was a completely drab dining hall with hanging skeleton corpses and the only color being red, recently got replaced with something a bit more colorful.

Star particularly smiled at seeing her late father's hunts being mounted on the wall and even her kingdom's colors being mixed with Lucitor's reds and blacks. Still kinda drab but it feels a bit more like home. Star paused, looking at her empty plate. Home.

Leaning her elbow on the table and breaking decorum for a moment, she felt a familiar homesickness. Warm grasslands with various Mewmans like herself running free made her smile, as did the idea of having 'Princess' time and using her two days off to go on a hunt. Want to make Dad proud and have something joining his mounts. She laughed despite herself. Maybe even try taming a Warnicorn again.

"Princess?" Star jolted up, composing herself and accepting the tray of food. Familiar scents of burnt toast accompanied bacon from a freshly slain Pig Goat, some eggs from the demonic Hell Hens, and her Butterfly Corn Ale to wash it down.

Star mouthed 'thank you' and neatly dug into her meal, mind taking a moment to reflect on the dreams.

They always end horribly. She started, munching on her bacon and frowning. Despite how close she was with this 'Marco', all the dreams had this tinge of sadness to them. Could be stress but… Part of her knew, on some level, he partially caused the rift between them. So why now? She looked up at the glass windows, narrowing her eyes at the blood moon peeking through.

"What do you want from me?" She asked, voice hush but tense. But the shine vanished, as if avoiding her question. I'm going mad. She patted her cheeks, putting her fork and knife down.

She rung a nearby bell, alerting the servants she was finished eating. Star did pause, eying the half-finished glass of ale. Gonna need this today. She uncharacteristically chugged the whole thing down and slammed it on the table.

Star wordlessly walked out of the dining hall, ignoring the confused looks from the staff.

Gusts of ashy air flew past Star, as she dashed across the skies in her Golden Butterfly Form, star-shaped eyes surveying for her husband-to-be.

For most in the Lucitor Kingdom, it was always a sight to behold seeing its future Queen flying across the sky like an angel of death, but to Star it was one of the few reprieves from royal duties.

Getting this form was… hard. She reflected, never forgetting the pure blood-lust he caused her to gain during the Monster Wars. But she was thankful for her newfound magic mastery regardless, feeling powerful and ready to end anyone who stood in her way.

She sighed, looking at her six arms and frowning. I do wish my… 'silly' spells had a purpose still. Shooting a Narwhal or having a Spider with a Top Hat familiar was fun as a teenager. But as a Queen, Star laughed at the idea of being taken seriously using that breed of magic again.

Landing in Ember Village, a demonic village that Star and Tom made 'the spot' for hang outs, she took a deep breath and let her golden form vanish. Opening her eyes, she looked at the onlookers and had a thin line on her lips.

"Mommy, it's the scary Golden Butterfly," A skeleton child told their mother, with the mother pulling the child closer to her. She gave Star a deathly glare with her eyeless sockets, one Star shot right back with her own.

Looking at the other creatures gawking at her, they slinked back to the shadows or resumed what they were doing earlier. Being powerful has its drawbacks, Star thought as she tucking her hands into the hoodies' warm pockets, Composing herself, Star stood tall despite the glares. Better feared than loved, as Mom always said.

She eventually found the town's Cornbucks, with Star sitting on a table outside and smiling at the half-burnt sign. "You know, could've aimed a bit better and got the 'R' off it," She giggled.

"Yeah, Conbucks has some charm. Maybe a royal decree we can mandate after the wedding," Tom spoke, holding out a Cherry flavored smoothie. Star took it and leaned back in her seat. "Sorry I was gone for a hot minute."

Tom looked behind him, eyes narrowing and his third eye glowing a dark red. Star tilted her head, but he quickly turned around, folding his arms and smirking.

"Had to get some, uh, stuff taken care of. You know, King Duties and all that." Star rolled her eyes and sipped her smoothie. Yeah, sure. Making a mental note to cast a curse checking spell later, she put her drink down and leaned back.

"Well, we should get the final touches done for the wedding," Star suggested with Tom raising an eyebrow, loudly slurping his Blood flavored smoothie. She continued, leaning toward Tom and smiling wide. "I know you said having Warnicorns lead our carriage wasn't a good idea, but I could cast a spell to protect them from the heat down here."

Tom sighed, putting his drink down and rubbing his temples. "Starship… I said not to do that because we need blood stallions to do that job," Star folded her arms, challenging Tom to continue. "Besides, they are made to display power. And we need our people to know the Butterfly and Lucitor union is a strong one."

"You know, I had very little input on the wedding planning, honey," Star spat, making Tom recoil in surprise. "I completely get why we aren't doing the ceremony back in the Butterfly Kingdom and some of the traditions you are maintaining…"

Star visibly shivered recalling the unicorn blood part she had to see in the pre-planning a week back.

"...Even if I disapprove of a few of them." She reached out, gently brushing her thumb over Tom's hand. "But simply having something from back home, carrying us toward our future… I think it's symbolic, you know?"

Tom pulled his hand away, rubbing his neck and being unable to face Star. "I… Look, can we just go with the current plan?"

A deep frown suddenly formed on Star's face, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. Remember, being a perfect princess involves some sacrifice for her partner's sake. But she simply opened her eyes, the frown turning into an understanding smile. "You know, I guess you're right."

"Of course…" Tom puffed up his chest, smoke coming out of his nostrils. He paused, three eyes blinking. "You're still mad, aren't you?"

Star giggled, a smile never leaving her face. She simply leaned forward and pulled Tom's tie. "Oh, not at all."

Star's voice suddenly got deeper, making Tom's eyes dilate in fear as a violent golden glow covered him.

"But if I don't ride my Waricorn during the honeymoon, you'll lose more than an arm."

"N-Noted, babe," Star relented, her killer aura vanishing sensing Tom understood her. "Lucifer's sake, you're terrifying." Star simply folded her arms, feeling proud of herself for some reason.

They looked at each other and after a moment of silence, they entered a laughing fit. Star slapped her knees while Tom wiped a lone tear from his third eye. Looking at each other once more, Tom scooted closer toward Star and threw his arm around her shoulders.

Feeling a passionate kiss coming, she simply relented and let Tom take the lead. She closed her eyes and enjoyed the kiss, despite his chapped lips. Warm, but cold. Star always felt this way during moments like this with Tom. His warmth but almost sinister, possessive aura nearly overpowered her, but Star always took control when things got 'heated'. For once, I'll let Tommy feel strong.

"Ew, like, can you two suck face elsewhere?" Star heard a familiar voice speak out, pulling herself off Tom and ignoring the raw furry in her partner's eyes. She turned toward the voice, eyes wide at exactly who it was. "Oh, it's uh…"

"What a…" Star wiped her lips and got up, fixing her dress to look more proper. Unpleasant. "Pleasant surprise, Queen Lilacia Pony Head." She looked over the Pony Head queen, a sense of annoyance coming over Star simply looking-over her former friend.

The Horse Head wore nothing but a simple but gaudy crown. The only thing that surprised Star was how big she's gotten in recent years. Not big like the late king yet but still. Star wanted to feel proud, seeing her former friend apparently matured into a proper Queen… But her eyes looking around for 'mates' and her voice being super casual…

"What's with the racket Pony, just found a place for…" Another voice joined the group, with Star smiling seeing another old friend. "Small world, didn't expect to run into you now." Kelly Wollet made a respectful bow, though her bushy hair flipped over. "Oh crud, hold on…" She stood tall once more, fixing her messy hair.

Star held up her hand, a simple pink blast of magic striking Kelly. The wollet blinked in surprise as a gust of wind seemingly fixed all the stray locks. Kelly sighed, fixing her green and pink knight armor and smiling in thanks. "Yeah, magic comes in handy in times like that."

Tom's furry now tamed, he joined Star and threw his arm around her. "Oh, it's you guys. Been a hot minute since we've seen you in our kingdom."

"It's not our kingdom yet, bub," Star teased, booping his noise. "But didn't expect you guys to show up so soon. If you need funds for the hotel, we have no problem…"

"We don't need your, like, stinky demon money," Pony Head harshly interjected, Star wincing at her annoying voice. "We're rich too B."

Kelly gave Pony Head a face, sighing in embarrassment. "Despite my Queen's protests, we would appreciate that. With Hekapoo vanishing a few months ago, it's been hard getting around without portals." Star frowned, folding her arms and looking at Tom.

He held up his hands. "Hey, it's not my fault one of your Counsel members ran off." Star bit her lip, unsure what to do about that mess. At least Glossy is keeping the others in line. Despite how annoying he can get, Star would happily admit she would be in more trouble than it's worth if her teacher wasn't still around. Closest thing to family right now.

Star noticed the three giving her a worried look. She composed herself and tucked her hands into the hoodie. "Got people on the issue, so it should be resolved soon."

Pony Head rolled her eyes and started flying off. "You guys are like, super boring. I'm out, come on Wooly."

"It's Kelly!" Pony Head ignored her and she just started bugging a demon and his wife. Star covered her face in horror, not wanting to see Pony flirt with a married man. "I'll… Uh, keep her from causing problems guys."

"Appreciated." Star said exasperated, with Kelly running off after Pony. She studied the two and for a moment, her vision shifted slightly. Replacing the two was… Again? Star felt a familiar throbbing, clenching her head as she watched herself and 'Marco' having a friendly back and forth.

Tom didn't notice, waving his hand around and talking. "No wonder you ditched them Starship, the loud one I wanted to drag into the pits of fire."

Star took a deep breath, her odd vision vanishing. "Yeah… She's pretty annoying." She took Tom's hand and smiled. "Let's look around more, got plenty of daylight left to burn before the big day."

Tom didn't protest, letting Star lead them to a shop nearby but she refused to look behind her, not wanting to see that accursed blood moon again.

The warm light of Mewni's many moons shined through Star's window, with the Butterfly Queen stretching her tired arms. Sitting at her desk and holding out her hands, she studied a magical circle she conjured up. Knew Tommy was doing something fishy. She picked up four, maybe five shadowy figures watching her and Tom during their date earlier.

"Mmm… Should I really try that?" Star asked out loud, waving her hand to cancel the spell and turning around. "Alright…" She cracked her knuckles, wagging her fingers around as she recalled one of darker spells Glossyrick taught her.

She felt her golden butterfly form activate, letting the powerful magic course through her. "I summon the All-Seeing Eye to tear a hole into the sky. Reveal to me that which is hidden." A surge of magic escaped her palms. "Unveil to me what is forbidden!"

A small portal-like object appeared before her, haunting greens and pinks united together in a display of powerful magic. "Huh..." She looked at her palms, not seeing the cursed taint that Glossy warned her when using magic like this. "Well, let's try finding our little spies." She waved her hands over the Eye, but instead of monsters like she expected, she saw something else.

It was of… "Marco?!" The boy recoiled, looking around as if someone called him. But he just resumed his training, punching a dummy and displaying great skill. Huh, even my royal knights can't punch like that. She tapped her chin, pulling up her chair and simply watched Marco. He continued training, using careful jabs and even a few powerful kicks.

Those abs are not helping things. Star felt her mouth water watching the shirtless man train. Impressive skill and good looks? "No wonder I've been dreaming about him."

"Okay, who's there?" Marco asked aloud, stopping his training and his eyes narrowing. Star covered her mouth, hoping he didn't see her. Silence hovered in the air, eyes downcast. "…Bad enough I'm dreaming about her, but now I hear her voice? Maybe I should tell Janna about this."

Janna? Who's this Janna? Star felt an odd emotion creep up on her but she shook it off, seeing Marco sit on a beanbag chair and covering his face. He was silent for a few moments, before looking at a picture on the wall. Star waved her hand, getting a closer look at the picture.

It's his family… Marco was surrounded by his mother and father, looking strikingly similar to her own parents. Wonder if his Dad hunts like mine used to? But what got her attention, was a little girl that was a splitting image of him. She couldn't be much older than ten or so in the picture, but her lengthy brown hair and soft brown eyes stood out. Omg her little mole is so cute.

"Sis..." Marco spoke, getting Star's attention. She shifted the Eye's gaze to look squirrely at Marco, seeing him completely downcast. "I miss you. Even though I know you're with family now but… It doesn't make it easier."

Star felt a tear fall down her cheek, being reminded of a dark moment in her life. She was about to close the Eye to give Marco privacy, but his next words pinned her in place.

"Maybe… Maybe one day I will actually meet this Star person I've been dreaming about," He laughed, shaking his head in disbelief. "Call me insane, but I think you would like her." He leaned forward, a nostalgic smile on his lips. "She's like this powerful princess that fights monsters with a smile on her face. Just like that one magical girl you never shut up about."

Star felt her cheeks blushing, staying silent and letting him continue. But he didn't, just staring at his family picture and a simple smile remaining on his face.

Wordlessly closing the portal, she just covered her face and wanted to scream. "…Why did I just do that?" Star slammed her fist into the desk, some loose papers flying in the air. "I was just trying to see who was spying on me… And I ended up spying on a stranger instead."

She looked at the booth photo hanging by her desk mirror, taking it down and brushing her thumb over Tom… but Marco seemingly replaced him in the picture. …Am I doing the right thing? She looked up at her window, yet again seeing the Blood Moon. Should I really be defying fate magic like this?

Star was no stranger to fate magic, learning about it from Moon and Glossy. Even fresh off of finishing her schooling at Saint O's, she was horrified at the idea of fate magic existing. "Going against destiny…" What's my destiny?

She walked toward her bed, collapsing into it. "Obviously, marrying Tom is a good call for everyone." Star started, counting down the reasons on her hands. "He's cute, we're good friends… Even if he's annoying sometimes." She sat upright, crossing her legs and tapping her chin. "Our kingdoms united means we could control more of Mewni better, plus I could finally finish Mom's mission and end the monsters."

But she frowned, mind not settling on something. I lost so much getting to this point. She laid down, throwing covers over her tired body. Maybe… Maybe I should just do what makes me happy.

She made a bitter laugh. Corn, Mom and Heinous are rolling in their graves hearing me think that. Closing her eyes, she let sleep take hold and hoped tonight's dreams weren't so bad.

Before I give a review response, want to say that Chap 3's draft is currently finished and outline work on Chap 4-7 is finished at the moment.

NightAroma - Happy you are enjoying the story so far! And while I think Connecting needed some major additions/fixes/changes/etc, it's one of the fics I really cut my teeth on for major themes and darker tones. A big reason I decided to write Star fics again was because I learned a lot and wanted to revisit one of my more 'inspired' stories. And highly recommend stuff from Blackwolf, DorkMagnet and many other talented writers if you want some solid Star Vs stories.
