Spectrespects and Redheads

"Hi. What's your name?"

Luna glanced up from the newest edition of The Quibbler to see a girl in front of her. The girl had fiery red hair, light blue eyes and a few Blibbering Humdingers surrounding her.

"I'm Luna," Luna said finally. She had a nagging feeling that she'd seen this girl before. "Luna Lovegood."

The redheaded girl's eyes widened. "Oh! You live near us. I'm Ginny, Ginny Weasley." She stretched out her hand.

Luna's eyes darted from Ginny's face to Ginny's outstretched hand.

She didn't have much experience with friends - everyone said that the Lovegoods were strange, erratic. Luna wondered what she was supposed to do.

If Daddy was here, he'd tell her what to do. But Daddy wasn't here, because Luna was on the Hogwarts Express, starting her first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The redheaded girl - Ginny - speaking jolted Luna out of her thoughts.

"You know it's kind of rude to ignore people, right?"

Luna blushed and took off her Spectrespects. She analyzed Ginny clearly.

Ginny had freckles. Many freckles. That, Luna mused, was probably what attracted all the Blibbering Humdingers.

"Sorry," Luna said sincerely. Feeling that it was probably better to say what was on her mind, Luna added, "I don't have much experience with friends. I'm sorry."

Clearly trying to change the subject, Ginny pointed at Luna's Spectrespects and said, "Nice glasses."

Luna smiled happily. "You really think so? They're Spectrespects. Free with the Quibbler - my daddy runs it. Do you want one?" She held out a copy of the newspaper for Ginny to take.

"Um...sure." Ginny accepted it. She took out the free Spectrespects and put them on. "How do I look?"

"Nice," Luna said truthfully. The pink highlighted Ginny's hair.

"You know, I think they're going to be permanently part of my look from now on."
