SUMMARY: Narcissa stumbles across a cursed mirror.

"Darling, would you prefer this one?"
Narcissa glanced at the necklace. It was completely laden with jewels and gems - there wasn't a single part of it that didn't have an emerald or a ruby. "No," she said firmly, thinking of the red marks the heavy diamond in the center would leave on her perfect chest.
"Or this one?" Lucius suggested, pointing at another necklace that was exactly the same as the first, except with a giant amethyst instead of a giant diamond.
"No." Narcissa said without hesitating.
"Are you very sure, my love?" Lucius asked. "It would flatter you so much."
"No." Narcissa said again.
She heard Lucius's sigh of defeat behind her. "I know I did wrong in marrying a Black," he muttered. "So stubborn."
Narcissa kindly ignored her husband's slight.
She wandered around the shop, glancing at every single piece of jewelry that she passed. All of them were either too extravagant or too simple - Narcissa even saw a necklace with just one small emerald on it!
"This."
"You've found something that you like, Cissa?"
"Yes," Narcissa said, staring, entranced, at…
"A mirror," Lucius said incredulously. "You have all this jewelry around you, and you prefer a plain mirror? We have plenty of those at home, my love."
The mirror wasn't plain. Not by any means.
There was a ginormous ruby at the top, followed by smaller gems. The glass was perfectly clear, not a smudge or a crack. Narcissa reached forward, unable to stop herself.
"STOP!"
The shopkeeper's voice jolted her out of her trance, and Narcissa turned to face him. The wizard was panting, red in the face.
"Stop," he said again, though more calmly. "It's cursed," he explained.
"Then why is it out here for innocent customers, such as my wife, to stumble upon it?" Lucius demanded.
"We were going to move it back in today!"
"Excuses," Lucius muttered as he went to take hold of Narcissa's hand.
