I Was Always Yours
A voice comes out of the dark, and I nearly pee my robes with fright.
"Lily," it says.
I relax when I realise that it's Cissa. Lighting my wand with Lumos, I creep forward until I bump into something hard.
"Sorry," I mutter. "Just trying to find you."
Cissa's tinkling laugh relieves me of guilt. "It's okay, Lily," she assures me. "Just fine."
"We're waiting for James, right?" I say, peering into the now slightly lit darkness ahead of us.
I can see Cissa nod. "Of course," she says.
I tap my foot impatiently as I wait for James. Did he forget? I wonder.
But no - there is a light appearing, growing bigger and bigger. James's silhouette comes out of the darkness.
"Sorry I'm late," he whispers. "Couldn't escape."
Cissa crosses her pale arms. "Try to escape earlier next time," she suggests, her tone making it clear that she is not very pleased with him.
"I tried!" James protests.
"When did you try? One minute ago?"
"Five minutes, actually."
"Not much better," I say.
James laughs and pulls me towards him, kissing my lips. As usual, a fierce blush that I hope he and Cissa can't see spreads across my face.
"Why am I not included?" Cissa changed her attitude as quickly as lightning. She pouts, which she knows that we can't resist.
"Dear Cissa, we did not mean to forget you!" James declares, and pulls her in.
Over the course of the next hour and a half, we snog so much that I feel like my lips will never heal - in a good way. Sweet nothings like 'I was always yours' are whispered in my ear. Finally, I check my magically enchanted watch.
"It's nearly curfew," I whisper at James and Cissa. "We have to get back."
"Just a little more, Lils."
"No, James!" I whisper-yell. I glance at my watch again. "It's curfew in four minutes! GO!"
And that's when I hear movement nearby.
