SUMMARY: Hermione has a suggestion about hiding her and Draco's relationship and it does not go well.

"I've been thinking."
I frown at Hermione. "You sound serious."
"I am." She takes a deep breath. "I wanted to talk to you, Draco."
"Well, you're here, love."
"We can't keep this relationship a secret for much longer."
I arch an eyebrow. "What are you thinking? That we should tell everyone?"
"No, not that. It's inevitable that one day, one of us will slip up."
"No - I wouldn't -" I try to protest, incensed at the thought that I would betray us.
"I know," Hermione sighs, rubbing a hand down her face. "But...just in case. I don't know, maybe one day our friends will force us to drink Firewhiskey and we'll spill our guts. So I came up with a solution."
That problem's never come to mind before, and I smile at Hermione's rather brilliant mind. "So what solution have you come up with?" I ask lightly.
"This." She takes two small vials out of the pocket of her robes, filled with a murky-looking dark blue potion.
"Uh...do you intend to poison us?" I say, becoming nervous at the texture of the potions.
Hermione rolls her eyes at me. "Of course not."
She passes a vial over to me and I glance at it apprehensively. Hermione nods encouragingly, and I shake the vial a tiny bit. The potion inside doesn't move at all. Not a good sign.
But I have trust in Hermione's potion-making skills, and I don't want to offend her, so I pop the cork out. She does the same.
"Quick recount...what does the potion do?" I say this even though I'm not sure Hermione told me what it did.
"Makes us unable to talk about our relationship to outsiders until we drink the antidote." she responds.
"Can't we use Unbreakable Vows?" I suggest.
"Too dangerous." I have to agree, remembering what Uncle Severus got into after he made an Unbreakable Vow.
"On three?" I suggest.
Hermione nods. "Three...two...one…"
I drain the potion. Hermione's horrified face is the last thing I see, before I fall unconscious.
Maybe we really should have made Unbreakable Vows.
