A furry red puppet popped up onto what the Muggles called a "television screen" and started talking in a high-pitched voice. The two watching, who had been staring raptly at the child's series, jumped at this sudden movement, but quickly settled. When the red puppet called "Elmo" had gone again, the big yellow bird returned. The elder of the two clapped his hands, only to be silenced by his friend. Giving a pout, the older watched in awed anticipation as Big Bird and the Count taught kids how to count to ten, following along on his own fingers.
Just as they had reached the number nine, a slim hand picked up the remote and clicked the Power button. Two groans went up simultaneously and they both looked at their tormentor, hope and anguish filling their eyes.
The younger one tried his luck first while the second pouted. "Please? Can we please watch it until the end? I promise I'll be at your will until next week when we go back..."
He was silenced by a look from another woman who had appeared behind the first. "Come on, Severus, Albus. I'll tape it for you, and you can watch it when we get back."
Their faces eager, they sprang up from the floor and hugged Hermione Granger-Snape before turning to Minerva. Albus licked his lips nervously before saying, "I'm sorry Min, but... That was so exciting!"
Together, he and Severus made a break for the door, chattering on about what fun they'd had with Elmo and Big Bird and how cute that Maria was. Their wives followed behind them, rolling their eyes and exchanging glances. Careful not to let her voice carry, Minerva said, "At least they haven't discovered Teletubbies yet!"
