But I Fell in Love with a War

A/N: While I write this I'll also have some og works posted on my medium page and writing Tumblr. Other than that, I'll just be stuck inside watching tv and making sure my dog doesn't go nuts with me. I always get nervous around the second chapter but hopefully, it'll be as good as the first. My laptop charger is on the fritz, so I'm switching to my phone and hoping it works out. :')

SpongeBob tried to calm his breathing as the person that broke into his room started walking towards him. The door was thrown open by one of his guards, sword ready to defend the prince from any danger.

The intruder stilled for a moment, quickly jerking SpongeBob out of bed and against them as a dark figure towered over them. A black dragon with eyes as orange as smoldering coals.

"Your Highness," Patrick yelled, rushing further into the room.

The dragon roared then, flames creating a barrier between the prince and his guards. SpongeBob sucked in a breath as the intruder went towards the window they used to break in. As much as he didn't want to meet the princess tomorrow he also didn't want to be kidnapped and die.

"L-Let me g-." He stopped with a scream as the intruder leaped from the window, holding SpongeBob close as the dragon from earlier caught them. Tears stung the corners of his eyes as he watched his captor remove their hood.

Sandy didn't let him go until they were in her old home. A cave close to the kingdom but far off enough for her to not be found unless you were looking. Sandy sighed, patting the dragon's snout.

"Thanks, Rune," she mumbled, watching it transform into a small lizard and head into her bag. She jumped as SpongeBob tackled her in a hug, pressing his still skinny arms into her ribcage. "Hey, lil square dude."

Spongebob pulled away from her, finally letting himself cry and gasp out, "I thought I was, was being kidnapped and," he took in a shuddering breath. "What are you doing here?"

Sandy sat down, looking away from her friend for a moment. "I. . .had a vision 'bout ya so I wanted to make sure you were alright." She said at last, picking at her pant leg. "You can't marry the Princess of Elden."
