Sandy watched Holly as she held the large claymore. It dwarfed the sponge in size but she wielded it like it weighed nothing. Sandy dodged the next swing, Rune wrapping around her arm and shooting fire towards the princess.
Sandy rushed forward, grabbing Holly's wrist and twisting, knocking the sword out of her hand and pushing it to the far corner of the room. She grabbed Holly, holding her close as the sponge struggled against her. Rune wrapped around them both, his wings folding around the pair.
Sandy grunted, keeping Holly still as Rune's claws dug into the other woman's back.
"Why are you doing this?" Sandy grit out, ignoring Holly's cry of pain. "Why him?"
Holly barked out a laugh, her blue eyes wild. "Power. This is the largest kingdom in Nightwell, after all." She answered, baring her teeth. "That little fool you're so worried would've been my ticket to ruling everything."
Rune flapped his wings, a growl leaving him as Sandy twisted Holly around, calling for the guards.
Holly sneered, leaning back as Patrick rushed into the room. "Guards," she started, suddenly wilting in Sandy's grasp. "help! The Oracle is attacking me." She yelled, letting out a wail.
Sandy let her go, Rune resting behind her ready to attack. "Rune, don't," she mumbled, low enough for only the dragon to hear. She backed away as Patrick ran up to them.
"Princess Holly," he said, putting a hand on the sponge. "are you alright?"
Holly looked at Sandy with teary eyes, hands coming up to touch her back and coming away bloody. "She—that Oracle," she spat, leaning against Patrick. "she tried to kill me."
Sandy frowned as more guards filtered into the room. They were Elden guards, not Nightwell. Shit.
"Patrick," Sandy hissed, trying to get his attention. They needed to leave. Now.
Patrick looked between Holly and Sandy, his brown-eyed gaze searing into Sandy. "Take her away." He simply ordered, pulling Holly up and beginning to lead her out of the throne room.
"Wait," Sandy called, moving towards the pair. She grunted as she was pulled back by a shark. "She's lying, Patrick!" she yelled, fighting the guard off and running towards the starfish.
She grabbed onto the edge of his armor, turning him to face her. "Ya gotta believe me, SpongeBob is in danger."
Patrick brushed her off, a frown on his lips. He wasn't the smartest, but he would at least believe her. Right?
Patrick looked at Sandy for a moment longer, reaching up to place her veil over her face again. He leaned in, saying, "Tell me where the prince is, and you won't be thrown in jail."
Sandy faltered. She looked past him at the Elden guards stationed beside them. They were in enemy territory now, and they were both prisoners. "I, I can't. Not now, just know he's safe." She said, begging him not to question her further.
Patrick nodded, turning and backing into Sandy. A guard pointed a sword toward the pair, roughly leading them to the room Sandy stayed in. She huffed as the lock turned and a guard was stationed to watch over them. Rune had been taken. Sandy just hoped SpongeBob was alright in her cave.
