Worlds Collide
A/N: Thank y'all so much for the reviews and welcome new readers. I won't be able to write much next month due to going on vacation for a week, but I hope y'all won't miss me too much. Also, I should be able to start on Suspicious Activity so look out for that.
SpongeBob looked out the entrance to Sandy's cave. She should've followed them by now. And what about Patrick?
Jellyfish swam by as he stared, hoping, wishing his friends were safe. He went over to his mother, tucking himself under her.
"Please be okay," he whispered, tightening his grip on his mother's hand.
Sandy threw herself towards the guard in their room, slipping behind him and putting an arm around his neck. She grunted as the guard flailed, putting all her strength in this choke hold. Fingers scratched at her arm, loosening as the guard passed out. Sandy sighed, propping the guard up against the wall.
Now that that was taken care of, they could focus on getting out of here.
"Patrick," she started, beginning to pull books off the shelf. There had to be a secret passage or something. "how do we get out of here?"
Patrick blinked, looking at the guard Sandy had knocked out and swallowed. He turned to her as she snapped her fingers.
"Focus, we gotta get SpongeBob," she said, groaning as nothing happened from the fifth book she pulled.
Patrick simply pulled the rug up, tapping a wooden door embedded into the floor. Sandy pulled back her veil, green eyes bright as she went over to the door.
"Honestly, why do we have to look after the prisoners?" a guard asked, keys jingling as she unlocked the door. "I'd rather see what that dragon can do."
Sandy sucked in a breath, slipping into a fighting stance as the guard entered the room. She charged at the guardswoman, pushing her out of the room as Patrick went down the wooden door. She could stall them. All she had to do was stall.
Patrick made his way to Sandy's cave, practically throwing himself at the Prince as SpongeBob stood.
"SpongeBob," Patrick shouted, holding onto the small sponge. "We have to go back to the castle, Sandy's still there. Holly tried to—."
"I know, Patrick," SpongeBob interrupted, folding his arms over his chest. It wouldn't do any good to go back without reinforcements. Who knows what Holly was doing to his friend? "we. . .we can't go back. Not right now."
Patrick huffed, tapping his chin as his brain futilely worked. There was no way Sandy could take on all those guards by herself.
"Wait, what about that, uh, um, snake thing?" Patrick said, a dimming lightbulb appearing over his head.
SpongeBob raised an eyebrow. "You mean Rune?"
"Yeah, we could free Rune and push the castle somewhere else."
SpongeBob put a hand on Patrick's shoulder. "I don't think that second part will work bud."
But for once, the starfish was onto something. If they could just find a way inside the castle again.
