CHAPTER 1: SHE'S 18
The sun shone over her head. It was her day, she knew ity. It would be a wonderful day for her. The quiet atmosphere of the morning suites her as she daydreamed of what would happen all day long.
Ring ring… ring ring… the phone ranged bringing her back to consciousness.
"hello?"
"o come on girl, still sleeping? This is your day. Get up and get dressed"
"yeah sure fine… this really is my big day. I think I'd better get ready for tonight. Bye and see you later."
"you better do."
"yup. Wait. What time are you guys coming over?"
"about noon I guess."
"ok. bye"
"bye"
This is the day. The day she'd been waiting for. It's the 26th of April, school's off and she's having a really great time. Today's the day!
For the past few months, Abi and her friends have been practicing for her dance. They would spend their night over her place for late night homeworks and practices.
"morning dear and happy birthday"
"thanks mom"
"you better get ready or we'll be late for lunch at the hotel."
"mom, would dad be coming with us for lunch?"
"yes of course I'm going." Abi's dad said from outside the door. Her dad had such manly voice, she thought that maybe that was why her mom married him.
"dad, ar you sure the car would fit all of us?"
"of course. How many times should I tell you that?"
"Ed. Abi! Come down and have your breakfast." Pat shouted from the kitchen. Pat is still very charming. Being a theatre artist, she have to keep herself fit.
How she wish every second of this day would last longer that it was. But as soon as she had finished her breakfast they'll be going to the hotel. As she was changing her sleepwear, her friends came. She quickly slip on to her jeans.
"happy birthday Abi," they all shouted.
"o what a pleasant surprise," said Abi. "we'll be having lunch at the hotel," she added.
"really? Looks like we've got a great day ahead of us guys," Cristy said.
"Abi! Come on now or we'll be late. Are all your friends here already?" pat shouted again.
"yeah mom, we're going down," she replied.
Abi wasn't that beautiful, but she can be if she'd manage herself more. She's studying at a prestigious school but that did not earn her much fame either. She's a no boyfriend since birth gal. Well, absolutely she's no campus crush at all. She lives a plain life. Contented with her friends. But really, she believed that she would stay single all her life.
They got on to the car. And she's right they're sticking too close to each other, but her dad had managed to put them all in one van. She do not want to argue with him any more, at least not in front of her friends.
"Abi, I would dare to bet that your debut party would be known by the start of class over the whole campus," said Cristy.
"well, who knows anyway. I'm not popular and I'm neither beautiful," replied Abi.
"I bet you will too Abi," said Jenny.
